Hometown Eats. What an exquisite little eatery/bakery! So happy to have found this place, which has been under my nose for the past year apparently. Small, but comfortable place that has a few tables inside and out. Sell coffee and baked goods but also has a nice little breakfast/brunch menu. The owners ran the place and really seemed "happy" to see us, took time to walk us through the menu, offer suggestions, etc. just extremely "comfortable" place to be from the moment we walked through the door. My wife and I always pick two entrees and share. We went with the breakfast sandwich and the biscuits and gravy and we were not disappointed. The house made brioche bun for the sandwich and the biscuits were out-of-this-world delicious. Based on that, I would wager that the other baked goods they had displayed (scones, cinnamon rolls, etc) would have been wonderful! (I'll be back soon to confirm this) Back to the food...the sandwich was very good- egg was perfectly "over hard" and high quality cheese and bacon. The maple-chipotle mayo absolutely made the bite. Next time I will ask for extra, maybe slathered on both halves of the bun. The flavor of that mayo was unlike anything I've tasted- thoroughly enjoyed it and it complimented the overall flavor of the sandwich so well. Delicious!!! As already mentioned the biscuits were outstanding...which is not something that I say lightly. While I will always try biscuits and gravy, I am usually disappointed and it is typically because of biscuits that are too dense and too dry. These were neither- they were incredible and I'm not sure what gave them the touch of "sweet" but that little touch took the flavor of the biscuit over the top for me. Finally, the gravy was perfect from the amount of sausage to the elegant "sage-iness" of the bite. With respect to the quantity of gravy, it is not uncommon for places to not give enough gravy. The ratio of gravy to biscuit must be difficult to master, well they've done it at Northern D'Lights!! Just incredible experience and we will be back, on the regular! Give this place a go...great place!

Food was great and coffee fantastic, we stopped in for an early morning coffee but the cinnamon rolls were cooking and smelled too good to pass up. My husband got the breakfast bowl with egg, veggies, and bacon. We were the only ones there which for barely 7:30am is understandable, the man behind the counter was very nice and friendly. Over all we loved the quiet breakfast to kick off our morning and will definitely be back.

This was super quaint and very amazing. The decor is very specific to its name. And the food was delightful. I went for my birthday dinner and I was very happy that it was open for dinner. Their hamburger special was superb. The bacon jam, the bread, the seasoned fries. I was impressed and I felt that I won the dinner contest between my husband and I. I lost sadly. My husband got the turkey apple sandwich and let me tell you. The flavors, the presentation, the deliciousness. He won. We also ordered onion rings and I had a blueberry chai latte. All wonderful. Will be going back again. Follow their Facebook to find out what the specials will be for dinner. Their cashier was super knowledgeable, the barista was beyond excited to explain everything. And they knew it was my Birthday because my husband messaged weeks ago and they remembered. Food was super fresh, and you can taste the care in it.

KRISTA and Parker have really taken time to set up the most cutest & inviting bakery/restaurant / coffee bar in this area and it was much needed. That's for sure. They are both very warm and inviting people. KRISTA is one of the best bakers that I know everything that comes out of her kitchen is mouthwatering, you need to stop by and try Breakfast. Their breakfast menu changes daily, but it's basically the same thing just a few adjustments to it. Don't forget to try their lunch and dinner menu as well. It's just as inviting as they are. It's a small family business so come on out and help them succeed. They definitely deserve to be recognize in the community with their mad baking skills.

No matter what I get here it's so good. Great people making great tasting food. Today I had the rare pleasure of dining in and got a meatloaf sandwich with fries.

Couple of delicious cinnamon rolls and a peanut butter cookie.

Stopped by this locally owned business to try out their cinnamon rolls today. I was not disappointed. Took them home and made a pot of coffee. Like peas in a pod, coffee and cinnamon rolls go well together.

What a cute place! I love a family operation. Dad, Mom & daughter run this sweet local bakery and eatery. After reading other Yelp reviews, I knew I had to add this to my places to visit when I was in the San Antonio area. Not far from Randolph AFB, this cute place serves coffee, breakfast, lunch & dinner. We popped in for lunch and ordered the chicken panini and roasted turkey & apple sandwiches. The owner was a delight to chat with. What began as a passion for baking and a food truck is now a full fledged brick & motar business. Come grab a coffee, pastry or meal.

My husband found an out about this nice place in one of the local newspapers or magazine. So glad we decided to go there this morning for Saturday coffee and breakfast. Chatted with the owner for a bit. Every pastry and bread product -- including the noodles for the chicken noodle soup -- is homemade. My husband and I split a breakfast sandwich (very generously sized). Nice sausage patty, over-easy eggs, and cheddar cheese! Does anyone do over easy at all? And actually good? This was a perfect egg. But the biggest thing is the fast that it is served on a beautifully baked homemade brioche bun! We also bought cinnamon rolls to bring home. Not too big, not too small. Just right. Deliciously not too sweet. They had a glazed frosting instead of cream cheese, which can sometimes be too rich. They have dinners certain evenings. Will want to check that out too. And now the coffee. My husband and I have always been faithful you-know-who customers. We have started to branch out to more local coffee places. I ordered an Americano, and husband ordered an iced latte. My Americano was just perfect. Husband's latte was great. Owner dissolved the sugar before making the drink. It's little things like that which make the difference. That's attention to detail that you can't get at a national chain, no matter how many times you ask for it. And oh yeah... with each of our coffees we received a delicious little gingerbread cookie in a little package. Such a nice touch. There is a pleasant outside patio area that even has some shade. We are definitely going back.

Hey y'all, come out and see Parker and his staff! Everyone is super friendly! They make their own homemade desserts and they make a pretty nice AFOGATA! Not to mention they have a plethora of coffee styles and flavors! Tell'em Bre sent you.

I can't say enough good things about this gem of a restaurant and the family that runs it.  Northern D'Lights is a small family owned and run business in a charmingly set up restaurant. It is so welcoming when you walk in with a friendly smile and hello. They treat you as if you are friends and family. They serve baked goods along with breakfast, lunch and dinner. Everything we've tried so far is delicious.  My husband and I have several breakfast dates there. If you are looking for excellent scones this is the place to go. On this visit I tried the lemon poppy scone, yum! We had the breakfast bowl and split a coffee flight. If you've never had a coffee flight do it here! House made syrups unlike any other coffee shop around here.

Food was AMAZING! You can tell it was fresh and made to order. The love was there. The service let me tell you, 10/10! The man that helped me was so kind and gentle. I felt like I was home talking to a family member. Ambiance is cozy and perfect. Definitely coming back!

The building is easy to find, situated next to Randolph Dental and across the street from Take 5 Oil Change. Parking is straightforward. The restaurant shares an outdoor lot with several neighboring businesses, and there was plenty of parking directly in front, including clearly marked handicapped spaces, plus an additional row across from the restaurant. Inside, the space is open, comfortable, and very clean. The interior seating is well maintained, and staff were consistently attentive to keeping the dining area tidy throughout the visit. The setup feels relaxed and inviting, and it is also nice to see that outdoor seating is available if you prefer fresh air. The food was excellent. I ordered the veggie omelette with added avocado and turkey, which was savory and well balanced. The hash browns were well seasoned with a good pepper profile, and the white chocolate latte stood out in particular. It did not have the artificial syrup aftertaste that is common at many places, which made it especially enjoyable. Service is what truly made the visit stand out. Jacqueline was friendly, attentive, and helpful from start to finish. She checked in at the right moments, answered questions without rushing, and kept everything running smoothly. As a thoughtful bonus, I was also given an extra pastry, which was a pleasant surprise and a great example of genuine hospitality. If you are looking for a casual breakfast or coffee spot with a clean environment, quality food, and staff who clearly care about the customer experience, Biscuit House is well worth a visit. Keep up the great work, Jacqueline and Biscuit House Schertz.

Both dishes were overwhelmingly salty, and the salt overpowered the flavors of each entrée. The biscuit served with the eggs bene was dry, and the ham on my eggs benedict tasted like cheap lunch meat, which was really underwhelming for a dish like this. While the eggs themselves were cooked well, I couldn't help but wonder, where was the Hollandaise sauce? The key part of the dish was missing. The pulled pork biscuit was tasty, but again - it was overly salty.

AH. WANTED TO LOVE IT, DIDN'T END UP EVEN LIKING IT. AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE THOUGH!…read more Service: 4/5 It looked like a one man show- I can appreciate that. The man who I assume could be the owner, was a server, cashier, and the cleaning crew. Haha. He looked a bit serious but he was very kind. Food: 2/5 I hate to admit it, but just like some of the lower reviews said- the food was so bland. I mean, not a taste of seasoning. I ordered a chicken fried biscuit with gravy, and it came with potatoes. My sister ordered a bacon croissant. I'll start off with mine. They did give me a rather large hunk of chicken; the batter slid right off and the chicken itself was tasteless, I do mean absolutely tasteless :( The biscuit was so dry, and crumbly. Possibly day old? Not sure. I slapped some of their homemade jam (Now that jam was wonderful! ) however they don't give too much of anything (butter, gravy, jam) so I do feel the sandwich would be better if it was maybe made smaller? I'm not sure. It was just a huge biscuit with nothing to slather it with. The gravy portion is really not fair, lol. Since the biscuit was super dry and again SUPER bland, I do feel they should make the gravy a bigger portion. My sister said her bacon croissant "was nothing special. I could've made it at home." I also want to throw out there that their drinks also need some help. I ordered a strawberry lemonade, my sister did a "freshly brewed tea" ah. The tea was bitter as heck and the lemonade tasted like it was pure strawberry syrup. :( Price: 2/5 I spent $30.00 on two plates, that Indeed we could've just made at home for 1/3 of the price. I know food is at an all time high right now, but this meal was not worth my hard earned money. We couldn't find one thing we actually enjoyed about it. Overall: 1/5. I hate to be honest because I really want to see small shops thrive; whenever I go to a restaurant I ask myself "Would you come back?" And the answer for Happy Cafe is absolutely not. The food, the atmosphere, the drinks, everything was just not for us. The restaurant itself needs some deep cleaning, an upgraded menu, and maybe some new tables (ours were peeling and super sticky) however, if I'm being honest I can get past that- but I simply will not return due to the food. As some of the others said, I don't know how this place is so highly rated (love that for them) but it just wasn't for me and my family, maybe it will be for yours.
