I didn't give it a 10/10 because we were too late to get a slice of the ding dong cake! lol Each Tuesday and Friday 4-8pm they serve dinner and if you get there in time you can also order dessert. The homemade bacon wrapped meatloaf, fresh not boxed mashed potatoes and green beans were good that my husband cleaned his plate. The dinner menu changes every week. It appears the owners has regulars and knows them by name. It is a small establishment so go early to get a seat or you have to order to go. $15 per dinner per person. Dessert and drinks are extra. Hometown Eats. What an exquisite little eatery/bakery! So happy to have found this place, which has been under my nose for the past year apparently. Small, but comfortable place that has a few tables inside and out. Sell coffee and baked goods but also has a nice little breakfast/brunch menu. The owners ran the place and really seemed "happy" to see us, took time to walk us through the menu, offer suggestions, etc. just extremely "comfortable" place to be from the moment we walked through the door. My wife and I always pick two entrees and share. We went with the breakfast sandwich and the biscuits and gravy and we were not disappointed. The house made brioche bun for the sandwich and the biscuits were out-of-this-world delicious. Based on that, I would wager that the other baked goods they had displayed (scones, cinnamon rolls, etc) would have been wonderful! (I'll be back soon to confirm this) Back to the food...the sandwich was very good- egg was perfectly "over hard" and high quality cheese and bacon. The maple-chipotle mayo absolutely made the bite. Next time I will ask for extra, maybe slathered on both halves of the bun. The flavor of that mayo was unlike anything I've tasted- thoroughly enjoyed it and it complimented the overall flavor of the sandwich so well. Delicious!!! As already mentioned the biscuits were outstanding...which is not something that I say lightly. While I will always try biscuits and gravy, I am usually disappointed and it is typically because of biscuits that are too dense and too dry. These were neither- they were incredible and I'm not sure what gave them the touch of "sweet" but that little touch took the flavor of the biscuit over the top for me. Finally, the gravy was perfect from the amount of sausage to the elegant "sage-iness" of the bite. With respect to the quantity of gravy, it is not uncommon for places to not give enough gravy. The ratio of gravy to biscuit must be difficult to master, well they've done it at Northern D'Lights!! Just incredible experience and we will be back, on the regular! Food was great and coffee fantastic, we stopped in for an early morning coffee but the cinnamon rolls were cooking and smelled too good to pass up. My husband got the breakfast bowl with egg, veggies, and bacon. We were the only ones there which for barely 7:30am is understandable, the man behind the counter was very nice and friendly. This was super quaint and very amazing. The decor is very specific to its name. And the food was delightful. I went for my birthday dinner and I was very happy that it was open for dinner. Their hamburger special was superb. The bacon jam, the bread, the seasoned fries. I was impressed and I felt that I won the dinner contest between my husband and I. I lost sadly. My husband got the turkey apple sandwich and let me tell you. The flavors, the presentation, the deliciousness. He won. We also ordered onion rings and I had a blueberry chai latte. All wonderful. KRISTA and Parker have really taken time to set up the most cutest & inviting bakery/restaurant / coffee bar in this area and it was much needed. That's for sure. They are both very warm and inviting people. KRISTA is one of the best bakers that I know everything that comes out of her kitchen is mouthwatering, you need to stop by and try Breakfast. Their breakfast menu changes daily, but it's basically the same thing just a few adjustments to it. Don't forget to try their lunch and dinner menu as well. It's just as inviting as they are. After reading other Yelp reviews, I knew I had to add this to my places to visit when I was in the San Antonio area. My husband found an out about this nice place in one of the local newspapers or magazine. So glad we decided to go there this morning for Saturday coffee and breakfast. Chatted with the owner for a bit. Every pastry and bread product -- including the noodles for the chicken noodle soup -- is homemade. My husband and I split a breakfast sandwich (very generously sized). Nice sausage patty, over-easy eggs, and cheddar cheese! Does anyone do over easy at all? And actually good? This was a perfect egg. But the biggest thing is the fast that it is served on a beautifully baked homemade brioche bun! We also bought cinnamon rolls to bring home. Not too big, not too small. Just right. Deliciously not too sweet. They had a glazed frosting instead of cream cheese, which can sometimes be too rich. They have dinners certain evenings. Will want to check that out too. And now the coffee. My husband and I have always been faithful you-know-who customers. We have started to branch out to more local coffee places. I ordered an Americano, and husband ordered an iced latte. My Americano was just perfect. Husband's latte was great. Owner dissolved the sugar before making the drink. It's little things like that which make the difference. That's attention to detail that you can't get at a national chain, no matter how many times you ask for it. And oh yeah... with each of our coffees we received a delicious little gingerbread cookie in a little package. Such a nice touch. There is a pleasant outside patio area that even has some shade. I can't say enough good things about this gem of a restaurant and the family that runs it.  Northern D'Lights is a small family owned and run business in a charmingly set up restaurant. It is so welcoming when you walk in with a friendly smile and hello. They treat you as if you are friends and family. They serve baked goods along with breakfast, lunch and dinner. Everything we've tried so far is delicious.  My husband and I have several breakfast dates there. If you are looking for excellent scones this is the place to go. Love trying locally owned businesses and couldn't wait to try this place. I saw all of the hype on face book of locals impatiently waiting for this place to open. As soon as you walk in, we were greeted and there were a couple of customers dining. Small seating area but seemed adequate for comfort and the traffic that were there on a Wednesday afternoon. Simple menu and they were able to modify a breakfast sandwich for me instead of pork but to use the turkey and it was still delicious, just like a home cooked breakfast smash oh my mom would make. Food came out fast, the side of breakfast potatoes were room temperature and not fresh, that was my only disliking, my husband regular cut fries were also not fresh but seasoned well, I'm sure it would be even better if it were fresh. Husband ordered the cinnamon roll and a turkey sandwich, both were very delicious as well. Over all, we will definitely return for more "home cooked" meals. Welcome to the neighborhood! read more

First timers: We ordered the chicken panini and smoked turkey apple sandwich. Food came out hot and enough to satisfy. We were told that all breads are baked daily. They have a breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu. It's a limited menu but pretty good. We were eyeballing the sweets while we ate and decided to take some home. More to follow on those. Small indoor seating, but they do have outdoor seating. Cozy and a place to stop in for coffee as well. This is the second time I have been to Northern D Lights and I give it a high 5 stars! One, the restaurant (though small) is very clean and the staff (a father/daughter duo) is super friendly and responsive. There is a nice sized patio with shade to eat on if it's too crowded, with about 4 tables inside. Two, all the food we have had has been excellent! The prizes are reasonable for the portions, and everything is clearly handmade and fresh. It took SLIGHTLY longer than a chain, but from the time we ordered to the time we were done eating was 35 minutes, so it was NOT a long wait AT ALL. The breakfast burger was a thick cut patty and very delicious! The Trapped Moose was excellent with lots of egg and veggies. The last time I came I had their Panini (excellently seared crust and delicious) with chips and my friend had a turkey with fries. Everything was good portioned and delicious, though the fries did have a seasoning on them that my friend didn't think her kid would eat, but we enjoyed them. We also had a cinnamon roll that ended up with a nice maple-y flavor! Drink wise, we have had mostly canned sodas or coffee. They do not serve any alcoholic drinks, and we felt the selection was somewhat limited. But honestly, other than orange juice, I'm not sure what else we would want them to have. I was looking for a breakfast spot in Cibolo on Yelp and saw this new place. It did not disappoint! The staff were so welcoming and kind. The food was made in house. I had the French toast and my husband had the pancakes. We shared bacon and the potatoes. It was all good but my favorite was the potatoes with peppers in them! We had a mocha and a caramel iced coffee they are espresso based but they were goooood! I'm so happy to have found this place and can't wait to come back again and try lunch soon!
