    Two piece fried chicken
    Raul Z.

We have been here when it was a Mexican restaurant. Which wasn't bad, just didn't make it. We noticed that this place is now a chicken and waffle place. Not always in the mood for chicken and waffles, but this place has more than just that. So I was really happy to find that out. I got the fried chicken sandwich, big piece of boneless white meat chicken. Lettuce tomato and pickles. A sweet bun. My wife got the two piece fried chicken, very crisp and moist. It came with red potatoes salad. My wife loved it, but it has a sweet taste to it. I like mustard based potato salad. They have koolaid, yeah. Full bar. Clean place. Plenty of parking and plenty of seating. We were told that Sunday after church is busy, we went on a Saturday around 1pm, not too busy.

Walked in and was greeted right away. I was told to seat anywhere that was empty and chose a booth by the front window. The server came with a menu and a few minutes later brought water. I ordered the fried chicken steak with mashed potatoes & gravy as well as Mac N' Cheese! Within 2 minutes she came back with my order and thought that was super fast! The Mac n cheese was good and hot but the mashed potatoes/gravy was cold and did not eat it all. The server took about 10 minutes before checking up on my table and told her that I was disappointed on the food quality and temperature. She mentioned that she was sorry and that she would let the cooks know and provide a discount due to me leaving most of the food ordered. The place has plenty of tables and booth to accommodate any large parties. Floor looked cleaned and didn't see no left over food on the floor. Overall, I ended up giving this place a two stars. Would have given them one star but hopefully, they can improve on the food temperature & quality .

So not the greatest experience, for starters our waitress wasn't very attentive, the place wasn't too busy but I had to keep walking up to the counter to ask for things she didn't really check on us even when attending to tables close by. The staff for the most part were friendly. The establishment was nice, plenty of room and clean. The decor was modern and the vibe was chill. The food wasn't all bad the cornbread was fire and the fried pickles were delicious but the pork chop was not it. The breading fell off easily and the Mac and cheese had no taste. My wife got the monte cristo sandwich and it was overly breaded, she tore most of it off. 20 min after eating I was in the restroom and it was coming out both ends. I'm sure this was a one off but it was my experience, I hate to dog on the place but it left me sick as hell. Probably never coming back.

This was my first time at Mr. C's Chicken & Waffles, but it will not be my last time. The food was delicious, delivered hot right off the stove. I absolutely love chicken fried chicken and theirs was beautifully crispy with a light and flavorful gravy. The service was great and the ambiance was very relaxed. If you have not gone to Mr. C's then go now, you will not be disappointed.

Tried out this new location of Mr. C's this week for both dinner and brunch. I actually didn't know they had another location over on the West side of town, but I sure am glad they decided to open up near me! Went for dinner the first time with my mom, and we had a great experience. The place wasn't busy (they just opened I think a few days ago, so no one knows they are there yet) so we were able to sit wherever we liked. We were promptly served by Wes, who was super sweet if a little soft spoken (hard to hear him at times). It was a brisk evening, so I got some coffee to warm up. The coffee was smooth and delicious, I really enjoyed my 2 cups. For my meal I ordered the tenders and waffles (of course) and my mom ordered the biscuits and gravy plate. They gave us complimentary cornbread, and we definitely nommed that while waiting on our food. The cornbread has a rich, deep flavor and is served with whipped butter to spread on top. Our food didn't take too long to come out since it wasn't busy. My plate looked delicious, but my one teensy criticism is that the chicken was fried a little light, it needed more time in the fryer (it was cooked through, but just) and the breading had a tendency to slide off the chicken. However, it tasted wonderful, and the waffle (I upgraded to cinnamon) was a delight. The biscuits and gravy stole the show, however. The biscuits are HUGE and fluffy. Just absolute clouds of pillowy bread smothered with a unique gravy that tasted almost of chicken broth (it was SO GOOD) with a heaping side of perfectly fried potatoes and some scrambled eggs. Needless to say, neither of us finished our meals, I do love having leftovers to nosh on later in the week. Bang for the buck was right on, considering the portion sizes. I liked my meal so much that I came back for brunch the next morning with my husband! The second visit was still good, but not as good as the night before. I don't know if it was a different cook than the night before, but the food was very, very oily in the morning. Everything still tasted good (my husband got chicken fried steak and eggs and I got a Cali omelette) but there was oil dripping off the eggs and forming a pool, and oozing out of my omelette from the sauteed veggies. I ended up having to use a napkin to soak out some of oil. Again, everything still tasted good, but that much oil was just totally unnecessary. They just opened, so there is a learning curve to be expected. We will still be back, and I hope they can reign in whichever cook felt the need to fully lubricate the griddle, lol.

    Chicken and waffle

Listen. I came in hungry, hopeful, and ready to be wowed. What I got was a chicken and waffle dish that looked like it was doing community service. The chicken? So pale and unseasoned, I'm convinced it was raised on boiled air and polite conversation. The waffle tasted like it was made by someone who said, "You know what people love? Mediocrity." If you've ever stayed at a Holiday Inn and made a waffle in one of those janky flip machines using batter from a cup that wobbles like your cousin's last relationship--that's the vibe. BUT. The sweet tea? Oh baby. That sweet tea was spiritual. I'm talking nectar-of-the-Southern-Gods level. I would fight a bear for another glass. Customer service? Impeccable. The staff was so friendly, I felt like I was eating at my auntie's house--if my auntie couldn't cook. The music? FIRE. I nearly started a TikTok dance in the booth. And the restaurant? Spotless. You could've eaten that waffle off the floor, but... don't. Trust me. Come for the tea, stay for the playlist, tip your server, and bring your own seasoning.

I've been wanting to try Mr. C's Chicken and Waffles and finally got the chance. It did not disappoint. When I walked in I was greeted promptly and brought a menu. The restaurant is clean, the music set the right tone. This was my first visit but it won't be my last.

The food was delicious. I chicken with green beans did not disappoint. Yummy with bits of ham. We had the fried chicken and cornbread. Everything tasted fresh, the onion rings were excellent.

#7 with thighs, cinnamon waffle and 2 orders of okra
    Kristina G.

Absolutely love this restaurant, it's my daughter's favorite! You can never go wrong with chicken and waffles especially when you get to choose different flavors of waffles like red velvet or cinnamon! I always go in knowing I'm getting the #7 with thighs, a cinnamon waffle and two sides of okra, and if they have it their Watermelon lemonade!

Great southern cooking. The cornbread comes with most meals and is to die for. At some point I need to try the waffles!

The positives first: the food was hot, fresh, and clearly made to order, which we always appreciate. The display case was filled with beautiful, tempting desserts that definitely caught our attention. If you have a sweet tooth, that alone might make the stop worthwhile. The breakfast menu leans toward classic, home-style staples--pancakes, hash browns, eggs, sausage--simple and familiar comfort food. While everything was prepared well, nothing particularly stood out or felt unique compared to other traditional breakfast spots. Service during our visit was a bit slow and didn't feel especially warm or attentive. The staff appeared to be family-run, which often adds charm to a place, but we didn't experience the kind of welcoming, lively atmosphere you might expect from a family-style restaurant. It seemed like everyone may have just been having a long day. My husband usually prefers Tex-Mex or breakfast tacos, and since I don't indulge in bacon and eggs very often, I tend to look for a breakfast spot that really wows us when we do go that route. While Williams delivered solid, made-to-order food, it just didn't quite "hit it out of the park" for us this time. That said, every restaurant can have an off morning, and others may have a different experience--especially given the positive reviews that brought us in.

Ordered the Soul Rolls and just WOW. A egg roll type wrap filled with seasoned ground beef, greens and Mac N Cheese. With Brown Gravy. MMM. Could be a meal by itself. Friend ordered Fried Green tomatoes. No complaints from him. Perused the menu with the Wednesday special being Meatloaf, 2 sides and a drink. ($11.99). I ordered meatloaf was delightful dense meat... not many fillers smothered in brown gravy. A side of Mac N Cheese and Okra.. SO MUCH TO EAT. Friends got the Swai fish with Yams and Green beans. Second friend had Catfish with cabbage and okra. They both loved their individual plates, had enough to create a to go plate for later. And don't get me started on the Banana Puddig for all 3 of us. The flavors were on point, well-seasoned, and cooked with care. I especially enjoyed the fried chicken, the cabbage, and those black-eyed peas--pure comfort food done right. I do want to share one note for transparency. The catfish entrée came with one piece of fish. It was a nice size (unfortunately I didn't grab a picture), but I'm used to receiving two fillets with a catfish entrée, so that part was a little disappointing for the price. We also ordered a catfish sandwich to go, and while this didn't take away from the overall experience, an additional piece of fish would better match expectations. Now let me give credit where it is absolutely due. The young woman working the front--Ariel (I believe it's spelled A-R-I-E-L, and I apologize if I missed that)--was phenomenal. She was cashier, to-go coordinator, and full-on mama energy, handling everything with grace, patience, and a great attitude. Even as it started getting busy (you know how folks roll in after church), she still made space for friendly chit-chat while keeping everything moving. Another thing I truly appreciated: the place was clean. And for me, that matters. Spotless, inviting, and the only thing in the air was the smell of that delicious food--no distractions, no off-putting odors, just good cooking doing what it's supposed to do. The food is served in to-go containers and everything is cooked to order, so expect a little bit of a wait--but honestly, who would mind waiting for food prepared this fresh? Overall, this was a great experience with great food and excellent service. I'll definitely be back--and hopefully next time there's just a little more catfish on the plate.
