I've heard this place gets crazy packed so I went on a Saturday at 9 AM and luckily there weren't many people yet. I tried the breakfast egg rolls which were perfectly crispy and so flavorful. The salsa they come with isn't spicy but has more of a tangy taste. It was delicious. I tried their jalapeño chicken and waffles as my entree and again the chicken was perfectly crispy and juicy. The jalapeño wasn't overpowering so there wasn't an issue with spice. I also tried their cold brew with SF vanilla and oat milk. The coffee was incredible. I thought their prices were appropriate. They also have a drive through and pastries to choose from. Restrooms were clean and fully stocked with toilet paper. The restaurant itself was clean and not crowded. Got together with family for breakfast. I was a first timer. Loved it! You order when you walk in. They have a breakfast menu, brunch and lunch menu. They also serve coffees both iced and hot with lots of flavors as well as matcha and teas. I had an iced cinnamon roll latte. So good! I also had the breakfast classic which included eggs, ham, potatoes and small pancakes. Also very good! They have seating both inside and outside. The inside is a little small but they have plenty of tables outside along side swinging benches and games such as a large connect four and cornhole boards. Service was great! We tried this place out on a whim after Sunday service and it was PACKED! Don't let the long line deter you; it moved quickly and we were able to find a table outside with a lovely view of the country side. Have been customers of the Blockhouse for years. Noticed today that while the prices remain steady, the serving sizes have gotten much smaller. The size of a latte cup has shrunk. See photo. Biscuits and gravy don't have enough gravy. When we asked for more, we were charged for a side. Omelette size has also shrunk! Disappointed in the recent changes. $60 for three small meals. Great way to start 2025. My first time to St Hedwig and this adorable place, but definitely not my last. We started with lemon blueberry bread, because breakfast should always have an appetizer. I was told about this place thru a mutual friend. Maria and decided to go and check it out. I also invited my family, cause they are lasting we don't invite them. We got to this restaurant and noticed they have plenty of parking and a drive thru. They have two entrances, front and back. The back has a patio, which is nice. Games and a swing to chill on. The back patio has about 6-8 tables. Once you get in, you'll have to go to the counter to grab a menu and place your order there. The line does get long sometimes. After you order and pay, you'll get a number, find a table and the employees will bring your drinks and food. I got the brisket hash with two eggs on top. A London fog tea. Very delicious. Maria got the classic breakfast, scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes and a biscuit. Also a coffee. We've been here twice now, and will continue to come. We want to come for lunch one day. Let's start with service. No server, you order at the counter and yet they still want a tip for doing nothing but punching buttons on computer. Gimme a break, that's dumb Wait time: way too long seeing we were the only ones in the restaurant. But now i see why there was no one there. Now to the most important. The food. It was horrible. The bacon tasted like it was frozen and microwaved before thawed. I took 2 bites and wasted the rest. What a hidden gem of yumminess right here in our local area! This reminded us of pure hospitality and southern home cooking. We happened to go on a very busy Sunday and were amazed how quickly we were served. As you'll see by the pictures, everything was cooked to perfection--eggs benedict and chicken fried steak with gravy and eggs. All the seasonings were spot on for great flavor and the attentive staff and owners were a breath of fresh air....such a comfortable atmosphere. I was really looking forward to my visit to The Blockhouse, but unfortunately, what I witnessed completely ruined the experience. During a busy lunch rush, an older man--who appeared to be the manager or owner--came out and loudly scolded the cashier in front of everyone. It seemed to be about a billing issue, but the way he handled it was completely uncalled for. Yelling at a young employee in front of a packed restaurant isn't just unprofessional--it's humiliating and unacceptable. The poor girl looked stunned and uncomfortable, and honestly, so did the rest of us. If this is how the staff is treated, it makes you wonder what the work environment is like behind the scenes. I believe in supporting businesses that value and respect their employees, and sadly, this wasn't that. I won't be returning. read more

When you first walk in, you grab a menu and stand in line to order. No issues there from the restaurant itself. I always order a basic breakfast when trying a new place for breakfast. Here we go. I ordered the classic breakfast, scrambled eggs, toast and bacon. My wife ordered the eggs Benedict. My potatoes were the Sysco classic garbage, eggs coloring was way too even, not real eggs. Bacon was cold and they have 48% whipped vegetable oil "butter". Eggs Benedict, came with no hollandaise sauce, when my wife asked for more, they said she had to pay for it. She is a huge eggs Benedict fan, she said it was the worst she has ever had. Will not be back. read more

Let me start off by saying that I visit this establishment quite frequently. I know what is normal for this establishment during their breakfast and lunch rushes. My MIL wanted to come here for Mother's Day breakfast, because she knows I come all the time and she had never been. Yes, the service was slower today than normal, the wait times were long. However, they experienced a MUCH larger volume of people today, farrrrr beyond their normal weekend breakfast and lunch rushes. The line was out the back door for a good portion of our visit there today. The team there takes pride in what they offer, they take pride in their business, and they take pride in their craft. They are some of the sweetest people who care about their customers like family. Over the many times I've been there, I have observed them calling countless amounts of people by name, talking about vacations, asking about other members of the family. They clearly have a lot of regulars at this establishment, and for good reason. On top of that, their food and coffee has NEVER disappointed. My MIL and myself both very much enjoyed our meals there today, and she is very excited to go back. Today is a HOLIDAY, one in which people generally tend to go out to eat for breakfast or lunch. It is not the fault of the establishment if customers didn't plan ahead. They did the absolute best they could experiencing the sheer volume of customers they did today. Patience, grace, and a gentle word will always go so much farther than getting angry because service wasn't to your standard. We stopped in on a friends suggestion - it's a bit out there in the middle of nowhere, but it was beyond relaxing. It's a calm, serene little breakfast nook with friendly service - great views - and wonderful food. I'm a coffee snob and this coffee was some of the best I've ever had. I got a seasonal chocolate orange one - definitely ask what their seasonal flavors are when you stop in! You order at the front and then sit and they bring it to you. They have bakery items, a kids menu, and even a few other local items for sale (I saw earrings!). Everyone was so friendly and patient despite my kids being ridiculously loud.
