We didn't have a reservation, so we had a 40-minute wait--pro-tip: definitely make a reservation ahead of time! It was worth the wait, though. I ordered the turkey club with fries, and while it might sound like a standard order, it was hands down the best turkey club I've ever tasted. The fries were perfectly crisp and well-seasoned, too. What a great property. We had an amazing time and really enjoyed the clean glamping experience. The cottages are awesome with a wide variety of options to choose from, including larger deluxe suites and poolside cabins. The indoor pool house area with the bar and seating space was a really nice touch, and the views of the river were beautiful. There's also a large pool and a great splash pad-style area for kids, which makes it perfect for families. It's conveniently located not too far from downtown New Braunfels, but still gives you that quiet, quaint, bucolic getaway feel. Definitely a place we would stay at again. read more

Tried Fork and Spoon for the first time today for breakfast with a friend. I've heard lots of good things and the menu is extensive, so I looked forward to a great breakfast. And I'll say right up front, the food was very good. From a short stack of pancakes (still huge) with a side of sausage links to the avocado toast with eggs and a side of bacon, the food was very good quality and flavor. What was disappointing was that the service was lacking. The hostess wasn't busy as we walked in but seemed preoccupied with wiping menus instead of acknowledging our party. We finally said "hello" and then were acknowledged and seated but no real greeting or enthusiasm. Similar behavior from our waitress. No niceties, just "do you want something to drink". When our coffee was delivered we asked for water and they were promptly delivered without any words but no straws. Maybe water isn't automatic here and maybe straws aren't either? Later, I flagged down the waitress to ask for straws and we got 4 straws --- for 2 persons ... ok. Again the food was great but my coffee cup sat empty from early on, needing a refill and I finally had to ask for it. I hope this isn't the norm.. and it wasn't terrible, but for such good food, you'd hope the service would match. read more

This photo does not do the food justice! Fork & Spoon is delicious. There's usually a short wait before you're seated, maybe 15-30 minutes depending. I personally love and recommend the French Toast. It is worth getting and sharing (although I prefer not sharing, because it's delicious). The kids meal, Breakfast of Champions comes with the HUGE pancake shown in the photo. The Strawberry Jam and Sourdough toast is yummy. Omelet is always good. Literally nothing to complain about. Just writing this review is making me hungry, and making me want to go back! The restaurant is nice, and high chairs are available. Service is good, and the people who work there have always been nice. I would recommend this place! After a long hike, my buddy recommended us trying this place. She mentioned the crepe was delicious with the fruit and that the pancakes were really thick. Absolutely terrible experience with Cianna D. from start to finish. The attitude was horrible, constant faces she would make, rude tone, and completely unprofessional behavior the entire time. We felt uncomfortable and unwelcome just trying to enjoy our meal. Customer service clearly means nothing to her. If you work with people, acting disrespectful and miserable toward customers is unacceptable. We understand that Sundays can get busy and hectic but that is not an excuse for the behavior. Came with my dog at 10am on a Saturday - Unable to review the food or anything because they were so crowded that they have everyone just sitting waiting at the patio tables, meaning if you have a dog and have to sit outside on their dog friendly patio there's literally no where for you sit/wait. Also, if you're going to have people waiting on the patio to eat - why not just go ahead and serve them out there? Seems like a completely mismanaged situation and they are not time efficient or accommodating for dog owners despite claiming to have a a pet friendly patio. read more

While ducking out from the front end of hurricane Beryl, we checked into a New Braunfels diner. The kids love all day breakfast places and went straight to pancakes. I tried their German fare. I got the Texas schnitzel which was the fried port cutlet with a Texas sauce (cream gravy with onions and jalapenos). It was pretty good, not a spicy the Germans I know would be used to. The Pan Crepes was topped with a cream anglaise sauce with strawberries, pecans and powdered sugar. It was light and tasty. They also come in half servings making them possible as an add on. They do have a patio, which would be great in the mornings, but was being drenched because of the rains. While we were waiting, I also tried their carrot cake. It was ok, but went well with the coffee after dinner. Michael M priced an egg-cellent, server and was amused as we played Disney trivia with the kids. There weren't too many booths in the inside, and I imagine it is full in the mornings and for brunch on weekends. I looked at the menu I'd want to try more . It's a good spot. read more

Our sweet waitress saw how exhausted and bedraggled we were and made sure we never ran low on coffee! The service was attentive and reasonably fast for how crazy busy and full all the tables were. The food was hot, filling, and comforting. You can tell by the ambiance, food, and service that this is a local place at heart, with the goal of serving good food to people to make them feel good. Cute place in New Braunfels. Wait time for breakfast on a weekend was about 30 mins which is to be expected. Inside was clean, nice. The back area had a fireplace going which is adorable for this time of year. Food was delicious did not take long to arrive considering they were pretty packed. Only thing that was not the best was the caramel late I had (not pictured). It could have been a little hotter, stronger and maybe filled up more than cup was. Presentation was good though in the mason jar with handle. They do offer water outside for customers. It's in a big container. I'd be careful if you drink from there. During my visit there were children opening it and putting their hands in it. It was removed once staff was alerted but who knows how long that was going on for. Definitely recommend. Met up with my friend at this place and of course since it was Sunday it was really busy. One thing to note is the Hostess telling me it was 50 minutes wait time which at that point we were ok since every place was going to be like that. However, not sure why she felt the need to spell it out for me as 5 0... yeah i understood you the 1st time..so that was a little off putting. The waitress we had she turned it around for me. A great brunch place ! The wait was a bit long but I would say it was worth it. My visit included my family of 5. The service we received was wonderful. I was able to take picture of our meals. Warm comfort food found here. A mix of German and American cuisine. This restaurant is actually pretty small but they make it work and not crowded. Something I loved was that the syrup for my pancake came in a warm bottle and I really enjoyed that haha. I give it 4 out of 5 stars because end of service the check still has a "credit card charge" from Covid. ( bring cash if you can) It's 2024 the owner should definitely change that. read more
