In my personal opinion, it was comparable to something you might get at a chain like Denny's or IHOP. When it comes to country fried steak, I personally prefer cubed steak that has a bit more texture and isn't overly tender or didn't have burger patty texture -- this one reminded me more of a patty. The gravy lacked a bit of flavor for my taste, and we ended up seasoning it ourselves. It didn't come across as homemade. I also wish the hash browns had been crispier on top. My daughter and I started our "mommy daughter" day here before some shopping and heading to the hair salon. We came at 9:30 on Tuesday and there was a small wait, about 15 min. Everyone was so friendly and kind - from the patrons to the servers. I had the biscuits and sausage gravy with 2 scrambled eggs and my 4 year old had the smiling pancake with bacon. This is a great spot that gets busy quickly. There is some parking, but can be difficult to find parking on site with how busy they are. The service is awesome. The staff are so nice and attentive. They really add a warm, friendly atmosphere to the whole experience. The omelettes are huge and delicious. The cinnamon roll is also easily shareable, so soft, and covered in so much good icing! The food was good, both my husband and I got ol reliable options. The biscuits were honestly my favorite part of the meal. The coffee really wasn't to my taste, it was really strong despite creamer and sugar being added so I didn't actually drink all of even half of it sadly. Our server was very nice and bubbly, the restaurant itself is small but charming. I've seen it multiple times when I've come to town to float the river so I had really high hopes. We wanted to have breakfast in our area and saw that it had decent reviews so we gave it a shot. Parking was a little difficult since it was packed and it was right in the corner but we managed to find a good spot. Once we arrived we were quickly seated and greeted by who I assumed was the manager. He was very polite and got us a highchair for our son. We both ended up getting the Hungry Texan since it had a bit of everything, and for our son we got the kids silver dollar pancakes. Everything was delicious and came out in decent time. The only reason I deducted a star for this place was the military discount. Since the place had military memorabilia all around the cafe I asked if they had military discount. The server stated that it would only count towards the military individual. We showed that I was a veteran and my girlfriend was active duty and she stated "Ok". Once we received our check we noticed that the discount only deducted $1.70 from a $48 check, which was about a 3% deduction. I feel that you shouldn't even have a military discount at that point since it's so low. I love food and don't care if you have military discount or not, but awesome if you do. But if you have it and it's a sad percent discount off, you should just take it away and save the trouble of the server and not make the military vet/active duty feel a little disrespected. read more

We stopped here for lunch Saturday. My aunt had been here several times and talked highly of this restaurant. We received it pretty quickly and our drink order was taken. The waitress seemed very irritated that we were there. She was exceptionally unpleasant in demeanor. We both ordered sandwiches and iced teas and they came out pretty quickly. I was also charged $.99 for a side of ranch, which is fine but it was terrible ranch. The sandwiches were excellent as well as the iced tea. There are so few places where you can find a good tuna melt - and this is the best I've had in a long time. It's made with rye bread and plenty of melty cheese. Forgot to take pictures of our food but I came here for brunch yesterday with some coworkers and I really loved this spot. It is so cute with all of the old school antiques and railroad themed decor. It is a small restaurant but we were seated very quickly and the service overall was great. I ordered the hungry Texan and everything was so good. My coworker got the same thing but upgraded the pancakes for French toast and I tried a bite and it was so good. The gravy was made with what seemed like cubed up sausage links. The sausage had a great taste and a bit spicy flavor. Ordered the cinnamon roll. Mammoth roll was so soft and absolutely delicious. Hub got the French toast and liked it. The bacon although looking sad and thin, had good flavor and chew. Just the bite needed to bring down the sweet of the cinnamon roll frosting. The hash brown needed a few more min on the grill...was very pale looking, but the flavor was bomb. It had an oniony aftertaste....mmmm. I appreciated the coffee creamer option of vanilla. This might be the small town feel restaurant that you didn't know you needed. Let me preface my review with I am not a huge breakfast person at all. So disappointed in my most recent visit. Will never return here again. Have you ever witnessed pure hatred in someone's eyes before? If you are any other color than white steer clear of this establishment. My family and I are latino and have been coming here on and off, mostly doing to go orders because of the funky vibe we would get in the restaurant. But this weekend took the cake for me. First off, this place is very cute. The environment is so comfy, and it has an art home relaxing vibe. It's always packed, so there is a wait.
