Just moved to NB and super glad that we tried this place. Ordered takeout via online order- upside down pineapple pancakes, strawberry cheesecake french toast, 2 brisket tacos, and the brisket omelette plate. Everything was delicious, though our favorite was the french toast. I like how they give you the option even online how you want your eggs done ! BONUS points for the fact that they gave us everything to eat with our food!- salt/pepper, salsa, ketchup, butter, jam, you name it were inside the bag . From what I saw inside, plenty of seating, and parking was kinda meh w/ a diagonal parking lot in the front BUT there is plenty in the back. Been coming here for about a year now, and every visit has been delicious! We love the breakfast as well as the chicken salad and it is super easy to earn rewards dollars with their rewards program. The BLT I had last time was LIT y'all, I snarfed that thing down like it was my last meal. The thai chicken salad is my fave, with rich Asian flavors that you don't normally get with chicken salad. My only small gripe is that their booths and tables have zero cushion, you are literally sitting on a hard plank and it is pretty uncomfortable. This is a Breakfast hidden gem in NB Creekside. The food was amazing and the customer service was over and beyond.

Honestly nothing was worth writing home about. I wanted to like this place, especially since I live close by and I thought it looked good. The food was okay, but gnats kept landing on my niece's pancakes. While the restaurant looked nice, the booths were really stiff and hurt to sit on. Service was fine. Sorry! Glad to find this place open for early breakfast, but right on the front door it says "Chicken Salad and Deli. So I had to imagine that they also had breakfast things, which they did. The breakfast croissant sandwich contained the normal stuff, but it's the best of that genre that I've ever eaten. Generous portions facilitated by a croissant made for that purpose--large and thin, it comes with ham, bacon, or sausage. A perfect breakfast for someone headed to one of the many medical destinations in the area--or anyone else, for that matter. We come to Roost almost every Saturday. My wife and I have tried several different plates and have never left disappointed or hungry. My daughter loves strawberry cream cheese French toast, and My son can't get enough of there fluffy pancakes. he's such a picky eater and always asks for pancakes from Roost. Great breakfast spot! We were in town for a wedding, staying at a hotel nearby. We met a group of friends here for breakfast and had a great time! The customer service was great all around, but especially Joe! He joyfully welcomed us in and gave us a run down of the secret menu cinnamon rolls, use of real butter, and fresh eggs at Roost. He checked on us multiple times to make sure all our food was just how we wanted it. He even poked his head out to say goodbye and thanked us for coming in as we headed out. Nice selection of sandwich's, breakfast or brunch! Onions are a must on an Italian sandwich and this one came without... I personally found that odd, and disappointing. I would like to see a vegetarian option of "chicken salad" made with chick-pea, or tofu for non chicken eaters. Just my thoughts. The one not so great - the trash can was directly below the drink stand where the lemons were open and exposed - that's a big NO (and I noticed in someone else's picture here on Yelp this was the case on that day too. That should NEVER happen. Good spot, might need a little more oversight of the younger staff to resolve where trash cans should be placed. Would likely swing by again if I was in the area. read more

I had a late lunch on my way from Austin. I heard good things about this restaurant. We ordered at the counter and our food was brought out to us. I had the egg salad sandwich with a side of grapes and strawberry salad. It also came with a pickle. You get to choose how you want your sandwich. You can have it toasted, griddled, on a salad or by itself. The combo also allows you to choose the side you would like with your sandwich . My mother got the senior special for those 60 and over. She got breakfast that included egg, sausage, potatoes, and a large pancake. Her order did come with a drink. She chose a coffee and we both thought the coffee was delicious. They have inside and outside seating. There Is plenty of space. Parking is located on site, but shared with some of the other businesses. My family and I wanted to try out a new place in the area and we stumbled upon this awesome business. It was a new establishment and they had various food selections. Once we arrived, there was good amount of parking in the front and back of the business. It was clean and the employee was very kind and knowledgeable of the menu. He gave us the most popular items and the rundown of everything on the menu. I ended up ordering the 1/2 Rooster Sandwich. And my girlfriend ordered the French toast. We've been here each time we spent time in the area. It is by far the most comforting and well made breakfast in town. The pancakes are incredible and to be fair, everything is made with a true sense of wanting to make sure the customer is happy. The folks there are all genuinely nice and the booths allow for plenty of room to relax and enjoy the moment with family or friends. Highly recommend you check it out!! read more

Great chicken salads. I have a couple of favorites. A lot of food for what you pay. I ordered the two scoops of chicken salad. I got the Thai one and the one with pineapple and coconut. Both were amazing. One was spicy and the other sweet. Like a meal and then a dessert chicken. And you get a side with that too so I got the broccoli salad. Soooo good. My only con on this restaurant is they need cushions on their booths. The wooden seats are soooooo hard. And not comfortable at all. I think it would warm up the restaurant a little. The wooden benches seem so cold. Other then that the food is very good. And the service is wonderful. read more

The food was very good made exactly as I ordered it and the pancake was so fluffy and soft I was very pleased. I had coffee and usually add sugar but this coffee was so smooth that I didn't even need to add any only creamer. The girls greeted us and brought our food promptly no waiting. With all of the tourists overcrowding our town, and driving up the wait times of our usual spots, the daughter and I decided to venture out and try something new for breakfast. I had seen this new place online that had opened as of recent, so perfect timing. I was also a little low on my review count, so it was a win win. We pulled into the parking lot around 10am, and not many cars in the parking lot. Was a great sign, but was hoping it was not indicative of a bad choice of place to eat. The daughter and I strolled inside. The decor was very nice and bright. Very clean restaurant. Not many people here, so we browsed the menu on the wall, and stepped up to order food. Here, you order at the counter, and they bring it to you. For me, the classic breakfast. The daughter, the Nutella French toast. I ordered my eggs scrambled well done (I do not care for eggs that have a wet texture), bacon, potatoes, and toast. The daughter and I made our own drinks from the drink fountain and waited on the food. In good time our order arrived. My plate looked amazing. Only one thing wrong. I was given fried eggs that were served over hard. My guess is that the cashier misunderstood my request on the egg. I figured the scrambled part would mean scrambled and not fried. Luckily for the cashier, I will eat eggs any way, so I just dealt with it. No harm, no foul. Next time, maybe a little more clarification on my end. My daughter's plate looked tasty. My dish was great, albeit with the wrong eggs. I asked the daughter how her dish was, and she gave me a blah expression and said she was not impressed. I guess they were all show but no go. We finished our meals were on our merry way. The daughter and I returned a week later and both tried different dishes. The next time I had the breakfast croissant, and my daughter had regular French toast. The croissant was pretty good, and my daughter said her French toast wasn't very good. This time I tried her dish, and she was right. While it looked great, it was not very good. Tasted like it was frozen and reheated. The toast was not very doughy like the egg soaked bread texture that French toast is known for. The texture was crunchy, which was odd. Would I recommend this place? Absolutely. Despite my order being messed up, and my daughter not liking her dish, I just think this place needs a little more time to come around to 5 stars. I have no doubt they will get there, they just aren't quite there yet. My constructive criticism for this place would be to improve on the French toast, and to get your staff to perk up a little bit. All of them sort of acted like they did not want to be there. I attributed this to being a new place, and it probably was a learning curve. Definitely give this place a try. I am really glad to see a salad place in New Braunfels/Creekside area now; I felt like it is long overdue. Also, a nice added bonus is that there is breakfast all day. They also have local bottled iced tea - from Fredricksburg! We got the jalapeno chicken salad (out of pasta salad as a side so got carrots and celery) and the harvest salad. The harvest salad portion is giant; you could definitely split this between two people. I didn't feel like the chicken was the juiciest chicken ever, it was ok. Some of my lettuce pieces were browning a bit so I picked those out. The bowls were very interesting, they open on a slant so beware if you grab something from the top of the bowl as it may tip over. The jalapeno chicken salad was decent, not overpowering with mayo as I've seen at other places. The red onion and bell pepper add texture and crunch to each bite. Next time we will get two scoops and extra crackers! Overall, it's nice to have more leafy green options in town. We will come back to try more menu items next time (checking out that breakfast menu). read more

my husband and I went to roost about noon on a Sunday about a week ago. We had never been so we stood and looked at the menu while waiting in line. when we got up to order, the staff was extremely rude. They just stared with blank expressions and treated us like we were inconveniencing them. They were also out of the chicken salad I was trying to order so my husband and I looked at each other and decided we would not eat there and would not be back. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth when your staff is unfriendly and unhelpful. read more

I am going to give this place some grace because it appears they were short staffed today. I wonder if my experience would have been better if they'd been fully staffed. The pancakes honestly taste like they're frozen. I sincerely hope it was a backup plan since they were short staffed and not the normal. The breakfast potatoes weren't great. 2 people ordered them and neither cared for them. My mimosa tasted like it was just orange juice. It was complimentary though so I'm sure they don't go crazy with the bubbly. The cheesecake French toast tasted like it had been sitting awhile. Again maybe more staff would have had this delivered to our table sooner. Will try lunch next time and give it one more chance. read more
