Attended a seminar hosted here today and was impressed with the ribeye that I had. Cooked to perfection and huge! The fingerling potatoes were also well seasoned and delicious. Brownie bite was underwhelming and the consistency reminded me of the Little Debbie brand brownies we were subjected to as kids. Service was super! Shout out to Cheyenne for super service with a smile, dealing with all us old people. The interior of the restaurant was upscale yet cozy. read more

Such an amazing place Cody and his staff have always taken care of me one day. I had a hard day got there forgot my wallet and I was going through something. The young lady basically gave me a free hamburger. Said it was on the house. I started to cry she was such amazing. Cody wasn't even there I don't think and they all made a decision of giving me a free meal which was amazing so I am ever indebted to Cody's and one of always preface that this place is unbelievable the food the menu flawless, the price point flawless, and the service flawless...and I forgot to take pics!!! A lot of restaurants have been in this spot over the years and I'm optimistic this one will stick for a while. The staff were on pointe: engaged, skilled, polite, efficient, yada yada yada. From the host to everyone who served us (it was a business dinner in the back area and there were a LOT of people) were very good. I felt like it was a well led team and somewhere that didn't suck to work. They handled the large business crowd very easily. I left a little early and the main dining area was quite busy on a Tuesday evening. This was a very popular spot. I'm sure it was popular because the food was just great. Since it was a business dinner we had three choices that started out with a salad. The salad was quite enjoyable and tasty. They rocked with the fresh produce. I know this place is noted for its steaks and red meats, but I didn't have an empty stomach ready for a ginormous cut of meat so I with with the halibut. It was OFF the rails good with the risotto and the accompanying cherry tomatoes were just fantastic. All in all it was a very enjoyable meal and I look forward to going back and trying out more of their menu. read more

Who has Happy Hour on a Saturday?!? Cody's in New Braunfels!! You know I love a good happy hour, so we tried 3 of the happy hour appetizers with our steaks. The first was the burrata cheese, which we had as the actual appetizer. The cheese was rich & creamy, and enhanced nicely with roasted tomatoes and sprouts on top. I wish the toast points it came with would have been warmer, but the cheese was good by itself. With dinner we had the Mac & cheese with crispy bacon on top and crispy Brussel sprouts. Both were delicious and shareable as main meal sides. The small Caesar salad was a nice size for the price. The quality of the filets was excellent. We all agreed they cooked a little rarer than our ordered preferences, so will order the "next up" cooking temperature on our next visit. Service was friendly and attentive. read more

My husband made reservations for our anniversary. To begin, we loved the atmosphere and professionalism of the staff. We sat at the two blue chairs in the bar area by the window and enjoyed a few happy hour drinks. Espresso Martini is amazing. My husband had the Wellington and I, the Sea Scallops. Not worth the price! High price. Average service and terrible food. The inside is not sound dampened so it's way too loud to enjoy. You are better off going to macadoos. Over $30 for lobster roll, that is store bought bagged lobster and served on a hot dog bun!!! Needless to say we will never come again. read more

Still delicious! Their happy hour specials are pretty good and their sangria is very delicious! I tried Beef Wellington for the first time (I am not a huge steak person), and let's just say I could eat it every day! The beef was cooked to perfection and the texture was almost like butter. The flavor was incredible! I am craving some more as I write this. The service was above and beyond and I will definitely be back! I would love to sit on the patio for happy hour sometime as they have a nice patio. read more

We went here for a last minute Christmas lunch for work. Gave the restaurant no notice, even though we expected 8-10 people. Cody's went above and beyond to accommodate us. The food and drinks were excellent and they dedicated a server and provided us a room off to the side. Lunch menu is a bit more limited, but everything we tried was very good. read more

We made a reservation. We walked in and there were NO STAFF in the front of house. There were 5 other people sitting in the front of house....the bar area? So I guessed there was staff there. Anyway, I went into the back and there were several staff members standing around chatting and sitting down. I like to go to nice places and expect that the prices in the menu match the level of service. Food as meh.... My dish boasted "pickled fennel", it was not included on the plate. I am euphoric after having a nice dinner. Being a veteran, I've traveled the world and have had some amazing food. I have to say the dry aged prime ribeye did not disappoint. Reminds of this one steak house in Slovenia. Also, the creme brulee was divine! Very close to what I've had in Paris. Finally a place that is quality. 1. The restaurant is great. It's clean, very modern and just an overall great place for a date night or an intimate dinner with family and friends. **They're family friendly, but I wouldn't suggest bringing little kids with. 2. The staff are very good at their jobs! Attentive, knowledgeable and just a delight. 3. The food!!!!! Try everything!! This place did not disappoint. The poblano appetizers were delicious with the right amount of heat. The filet was cooked to perfection ( medium rare) lovely crust and tender and flavorful inside. It was accompanied with this delicious butter that's adds just enough flavor to keep your mouth salivating. The sides, we shared all of the offered sides on the menu. The asparagus and Brussels sprouts were cooked very well. Not tough or dry. Perfect amount of cheese and glaze. Old fashions were flowing and it did not disappoint. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. If we lived in the area, I'd make this a staple. Kudos to the amazing owner for being so personable and friendly to us. Currently visiting home from Alaska, and came in for my grandmothers 87th birthday this evening. Our experience at Cody's was nothing short of amazing! Starting with our server, Randy. He was funny, overly accommodating (in the best way!), and knowledgeable on the dishes. He noticed our purses set on the floor, and went out of his way to bring over purse clips so they could hang from the table. Onto food and drink! All the ladies had espresso martinis - delicious! I also ordered the Strawberry Letter cocktail, perfectly sweet and tart, reminded me of a strawberry lemonade. 10/10. For food we started with the tuna tartare, and it was phenomenal! Having lived many years in Hawaii, I was expecting more of a soy sauce flavor - and was pleasantly surprised by how light and refreshing it was. With pops of melon and cilantro sprouts, I thoroughly enjoyed this dish. I couldn't decide between a small Caesar or the potato soup to start, and after choosing the salad, Randy brought me a little sample of the soup (another gold star for him!). It was SO SO good - creamy with a bit of crunch from the Pancetta. I would absolutely order next time. The Caesar was just as good. I LOVED the addition of the artichokes, and there was a an ample amount of dressing for the salad - I love not having to ask for extra! My dad ordered a side of Brussels for the table, these were sweet, salty, and a little tart. Amazing side choice if you're having trouble deciding!! My mom and I split the beef Wellington, another 10/10 dish. (I know what you're thinking, and no I wasn't paid for this stellar review, I just enjoyed it this much!) The filet inside was perfectly cooked, it had amazing flavor from the mushrooms, and the potatoes were so velvety. Overall - ambiance, food, and drinks were all standouts. If I HAD to give one complaint, it would be that the Japanese milk bread wasn't the super light (almost brioche) version I'm used to, all that to say it was still phenomenal will the garlic butter. Had the best date night here. On top of amazing food, great happy hour drink specials, and a cool atmosphere- the service is also among the best in new Braunfels. We started with drinks (hugo spritz and an old fashioned) and some Japanese milk bread to start. Our server had the amazing suggestion to also order the potato soup to dip the bread in- delish! Then we had beef wellingtons for our main which was so delicious! We can't wait to go again and try something new! read more

Food is amazing. If you are dining in, you will have a great time. We love this place. If you do takeout, though, the only app they're on is Favor, and they will straight up refuse your order, after you've already paid. The first time we ordered, some of the menu items weren't correct between their menu and the Favor menu. The second time, we put in a $160 Favor order, only to be told they "Weren't doing takeout tonight," leaving us to figure out how to get our money back. So, like I said, if you're eating in-house, 5 stars, you'll love it, and want to return. If you're doing takeout, though, I would recommend another place. read more

Waitress was amazing.... Most of the food was as incredible, but Cody's presented a rare+ ordered 12oz filet as well done. Such a disappointment. 3 of us finished our dinner slowly as the main person of the group waited for his steak to be redone. 2 of the three (Less 1 bite) were finished eating when the replacement steak was delivered to the table and the 12 oz filet was cut and found to have been grilled too hot IMHO. (Super well done outside and small pink middle). Main person of our group sent it back without taking a bite after cutting it open and seeing the cooking. My 7oz filet was okay - not juicy nor flavorful as I hoped, and not on par with their amazing wedge salad, tallow roasted fingerling potatoes, and crispy Brussel sprouts. Everything, including bread, was 5 star. With meals, 2 whiskey's, a1/2 bottle of wine, and tip, bill was $385 for my wife and I. Would i return? It would have been good if all of our meals were done correctly, however very disappointed that one of us went hungry for the meal ordered, particularly as his filet was $96 without sides. Don't go elsewhere, Cody's has potential, just missed the mark this evening's experience. While disappointing, I'm still saying that everything up to this point was fantastic. Margarita was good but hard to mess up. the bluefin tartare was absolutely not good. We walked n got seated outside on Jan 2 4:30- 5 nobody came out to give us water or take a drink order, so we went inside waited another 10 min for waitress as the hostess and other waitresses stood there chatting .. seriously I think the tuna was frozen from HEB ... and there were at most 10 people while there... Omg probably the biggest disappointment of all of the comal county, finer dining restaurants. The pros: sat in The Longhorn Room - beautiful atmosphere. Was seated, ordered the bread and the yellowfin brie. After being served our appetizers, we realized we had no silverware. Waited for our waitress to hopefully walk by so we could ask for a fork, spoon, something to no avail. My husband ended up finding some at another table. Ordered beef wellington, it was way overpriced for the quality, burger was good but asked for medium and it was a little pink, hubby ordered a ribeye. Not good! So regret trying this place but lesson learned! Poor service, food and completely overpriced. read more

Service was lacking! Our waitress disappeared at times and after ordering our cocktails, I noticed my friends who sat down after us, had already been served, drinks before ours were delivered. And they got their food fast! We had dinner reservations. I ordered squash risotto with scallops. This dish while amazing could serve half the risotto and add asparagus. Watch out because the server tried to up charge you ! 2 hours before we got out of there. Had reservations for 4 because our best friends were celebrating 29 years of marriage. None of us had ever been here yet, so we were excited to try it out after hearing so many great things! The wives had the Beef Wellington and us guys both had the Ribeye. Tbh, that wasn't our first choice of steak, but they were out of the 12oz Dry Aged Prime Beeman Ranch Wagyu Ribeye. We were soooo looking forward to that!! So we just went with the 14oz Prime Angus Ribeye. We had drinks before and during dinner as well. Drinks - Mexican Martini 10/10 - excellent! Very flavorful. R.R. Boulevardier 6/10 - had a cinnamon flavor to it that needed to be watered down slightly. Honestly, I'm not a big whiskey drinker, so my opinion might be skewed. Salads 8/10 - all of our Caesar Salads were very good. Had a slight lemon taste which made the flavors pop. Definitely enjoyed it. Beef Wellington 8/10 - the pastry was light and flavorful. The steak was seasoned well and very tender. Honestly, probably one of the BW we have had......ever. Very good! Prime Angus Ribeye 8/10 - we may have been slightly off because we were so wanting the Wagyu and "settled" for the Angus. In all fairness, the steaks were very good. They were tender and very flavorful. Not the best steak I've ever had, but pretty damn good. Atmosphere 8/10 - has a high end feel. It's very cozy yet elegant as well. Service 7/10 - service overall was ok. There was lots of prom kids there that night, so was very busy. Waiter kept forgetting stuff, and seemed off a little. He did give everyone a chocolate mousse cake for an Anniversary gift. Value 7/10 - it was good. The steaks were a little high on price, but it's a high end restaurant, so the prices will expectedly be higher due to service and ambiance coupled with better food options.
