We had: - Crispy Chicken Sandwich. So good, so crispy, and very flavorful. Comes either with fries or salad. I chose fries. - The Post Burger. Meat patty was so juicy and tender, husband even devoured it in minutes! Comes with either fries or salad. The House Salad just tasted meh. - Flat Bread Pizza from the kids menu. It was okay if you asked me. nothing really special. Kids still loved it regardless. Overall experience was okay, we got to experience dining out during this sad time. So why three stars if you ask me ? Well, mainly customer service. Our server did an amazing job on us, she checked on us, gave us recommendations on what to order etc. But what's bothering me was she yelled to her coworker when she misdelivered our food to the table next to us. It's not major mistake, but maintaining a professional level in front of customer is important too. In this crazy times like this, we often forget to be kind to each other. This location has indoor/outdoor seating and is dog friendly. They'll even bring your dog a water bowl. There is a big parking lot right behind the restaurant too. Tomato Soup: Small $7 - This was a really nice tasting soup that was just the right amount of sweet. The crostini was a perfect touch of crunch to it. Handheld: Crispy Chicken Sandwich - $19 - Not very flavorful, lukewarm and dry. I had to ask for dressing on the side to help it out. The fries needed salt as well. The Post Burger - $21 - Served with a thumb shoved in the bun. WTF. The tater tots were so crispy it was past enjoyment. Service: Our server came by as soon as the food was delivered but it would have been nice if she came back once we tasted it. My water glass was also empty the whole time. Cocktails are fresh and specials change regularly (so much that I can't remember what the special burger I had last weekend was - it was a seasonal that was on the main menu, as opposed to the football-themed special on the specials menu. Wow, love this place, open all day with informal vibe and seating outside on a typically sunny Los Altos day, and seats inside with a moody sexy spirit. The food is varied and one of those places that will have a dish for everyone no matter how picky, carnivores to vegans. We were looking for a place that was open after typical lunch hours but before dinner, and voila ran into this spot. We got their feta watermelon salad and added grilled salmon with French fries, also couldn't resist their grilled cheese with crispy bacon. Yes, it really was a s good as it sounds, wafer thin bacon shatters on my teeth and oozing gooey cheesiness on grilled bread. The salmon flaky and fresh perfectly cooked. The salad could've used a little more zest and sparkle more sweetness of the melon and more feta, more something to let it dance. But oh well, we are sat the end of summer and melon isn't quite at its best, so no fault of The Post. Our server was attentive and friendly, super sweet, as was the host who seated us. It's a very cute and cozy restaurant. The staff here is so accommodating and friendly. The food itself can be hit or miss. I've had the chicken and waffles a few times now and sometimes it's amazing, crispy and flavorful. other times I've had it and it's cold, soggy and super bland so I'm not sure what's going on with that. A friend had suggested this place - so we gave it a try for lunch recently. We had the gourmet grilled cheese and a bowl of their tomato soup along with a side of crispy Brussels sprouts. It's been a couple of years since my last review but the food and atmosphere remains great. Now that football is staring you can catch your favorite team on the bar TV and grab a great burger or steak. I still enjoy their cute bar and the fabulous drinks (watermelon margarita was amazing) The parklet also got redone and has a charming atmosphere. We each got a cocktail --I got the rose sangria which was delicious and my friend got the Italian rose which was a little sweeter than she would have liked but overall good. For our meals, she got the black bean burger and sweet potato fries and I got the crispy chicken sandwich with tater tots. I really enjoyed the tater tots but the chicken quality in my sandwich was not the best. there was a hard yet chewy piece in it that was pretty unappetizing. Our server was not also the kindest/best. We came on a Saturday for lunch. The outdoor seating was 2/3 full but the service was painfully slow. I asked to taste a wine but they brought a full glass. Ordered tater tots with the sandwich but received french fries. The sandwich was very mediocre. The fries were not even as good as fast food. The tomato soup was actually disgusting. Had a good experience picking up our take out order here Sunday evening 5/30/21, just needed to walk to the bar, pick up our bag, and off I went. Fast and efficient! We ordered the bacon chicken carbonara (excellent), fried chicken sandwich (good with a little kick), turkey burger (alright) and another burger (just ok - I can't even remember the name). For the price tag of $100, I would say the food taste was good, worth the value? I would say no. I do have to say, if we were dining at the restaurant, my experience would've been much better. My friend wanted to take me out for my birthday so we came to The Post since the yelp reviews showed promise and it was close by to my friend's apartment. Happy to say we made the right decision and had the most pleasant experience here! We came for a late lunch at around 3pm and were seated promptly outside. The place had a nice ambience and was very clean. The servers were very patient and attentive to our questions and took our order after giving us some time. I opted for the Nashville hot chicken sliders with sweet potato fries and my friend got the turkey burger with the side salad. We also got the ahi tuna tower appetizer to share. The ahi tuna tower had mangos and avocado pieces and came with wonton chips to eat with. The tuna was well seasoned and the mango surprisingly paired well with the tuna and avocado combo! We were really happy that we chose this appetizer because it was pretty refreshing and wasn't too heavy with the sauce. You could also tell that the raw fish was very fresh! I tried some of the turkey burger my friend had and the patty was surprisingly juicy and well seasoned. I usually dislike turkey because of its dryness when it is cooked for too long, so this was a bit of a shock for me, eating a turkey burger that I may even want to order for myself in the future. Last to be reviewed are the hot chicken sliders. I honestly had low expectations for the spice level on these, especially because I have a very high spice tolerance, but to my surprise the sliders were SPICY! It had a nice kick to them; after eating two of them the heat started getting to me. The coleslaw cabbage mixture that was in the sliders complimented the chicken in the best way possible. I definitely want to get them again! They kind of remind me of Howlin' Ray's chicken sandwich but a little less intense in spice and better presentation. The fries were well cooked and seasoned! Nothing to complain about them! I would love to come again soon and try other things on the menu! A "non white" friend sent to me the review that was posted Sunday night, the night of the LA Light Parade. I left Yelp a long time ago because people seem to only use it to complain about or to destroy businesses. I found this review to be so wrong and so disgusting that I signed back up for the app. We have an entirely different experience. We've known Vicky for years. My "non white" daughter worked with Vicky. Her ""non white" friends worked with and/or for Vicky. VICKY IS NOT RACIST. It appears that person making that accusation may be the one whom is promulgating racism. I was in the food industry for 36 years and as soon as I started reading that review, I knew exactly where this was going. What kind of person goes into a restaurant on a crazy busy night, makes demands and when the business tries to meet the demands of that customer, and it's not what he/she deems to be satisfactory, decides to pull the race card and add on top of that a threat to go to the city council to complain about a restaurant "manager?" Seriously? That's not how you handle a complaint. Anybody reading that complaint can easily tell the agenda. Do you know what most people do when they don't like a restaurant? They post an opinion of the food or the service, THEY DON'T GO THERE again, and they don't recommend it to their friends. They think Vicky is the manager, and think going to the Los Altos City council is a correct way to what? Out her publicly as a racist? What are they hoping to gain by that? If they have a legitimate complaint about the food or the service that's one thing. In this case, it seems to us they are walking around with an entitled victim mentality. What do they expect the City Council to do? Put Vicky over their knee to give her a spanking telling her naughty naughty you "elderly" hater of non white people. My friend's and I are thinking maybe we should go to a city council meeting and let them see the brown people who have known or worked with Vicky for years. People, Google the owner. She's hardly "elderly." Such a juvenile dig.That dishonesty alone gives people a better understanding of the rest of the review. Disingenuous reviews like this are what drive people away from Yelp. Lighten up and stop with the negativity, you'll be happier in the long run. The solution is simple. If you don't like a business, take your money and go elsewhere. A business is not under any obligation to serve you and your spurious claims combined with your entitled victim mentality will get you nowhere in life. On a Friday, it was bustling with lots of folks in the bar area and dining area. There were only a few options on the HH menu for food, so we decided to choose a few small plates and go from there. The shishito peppers, buffalo cauliflower, and TOTCHOS! So these are not small plates at all...ginormous! The shishito peppers were good with a really nice soy dipping sauce. The buffalo cauliflower were heavily breaded or could've used a longer time in the fryer, and with more buffalo sauce. The totchos were amazing...how can you go wrong with tater tots, cheese, ranch, and bacon?! Although we were full, the spaghetti bolognese was calling us. We ordered one, and surprised with 2 split dishes! So very thoughtful, and without an extra charge! Then, for my friend's bday our waitress brought out a complimentary bread pudding! Sigh. My SO and I went to the Post for the entire duration of the pandemic, and it was a great, and occasionally amazing place for brunch. We went back today and the menu had been gutted. I would say most of the things I loved about it are gone. The cocktails are still there, but at minimum, I noticed there was no more: * Tomato soup * Croissant sandwich * Waffles * Tots (So good, as opposed to the now-generic string fries). * Basically everything brunch-related, and so many other dishes. I mean *so many*. I used to see people there for parties for boozy mimosa brunches; it gave the place a fun, chill vibe and I guess all that's gone now. I'm not even sure what the thesis of the restaurant is any more. It used to be a sports bar, that became this place that had sports on TV, but lots of fun stuff to eat with friends and something you could completely ignore as you ate outside at cozy tables. Now? A very minimal menu and expensive cocktails. I mean it is Silicon Valley so maybe there is space for a sports bar with $15 cocktails and not a lot of pub food, but I dunno. I will say that the little banners on the menu announcing that this is the *brand new menu* for the *5 year anniversary* feel pretty dishonest. I mean, it is the anniversary, but should you really be bragging about this menu? At least when little hidden gems like the House on First Closed, you knew it was because it wasn't sustainable. Good ambiance, ok service but really average food. We have only tried it once but the food didn't have much flavor, it's on the bland side. This restaurant is on the pricey side for what it serves. We tried: Tempura fried California- I would rate it 4/10 as it was bland, totally below average. It came with ranch, buffalo sauce and blue cheese sauce. Black bean empanadas- I would give it 5/10. This was my second visit in 2 weeks to this amazing restaurant. It's a very busy place but staff is friendly and accommodating, following all covid protocols. We tried their brunch - Waffle and berries- just wow, one can never go wrong with waffles. Avocado toast- very refreshing. Only suggestion for this dish is to add more seasoning. T this was my first time here. A friend said it was great--she'd been there before. I thought it would by dressy casual, but when we walked in, it had the atmosphere of a sports bar and their bar is huge. There are mixed reviews on yelp. It seems they're more into the alcohol menu. Our food was ok. Actually, I ordered salmon on cheesy polenta. It was a special. The fish was good, but not too spicy because I'd ordered it. It blackened. The polenta was bland. There was no seasoning at all. I had to salt and pepper it. The mango salsa was very good on the fish. So, meh. My friend ordered chicken and waffles. He loved it. Our waitress was a doll and quite helpful. The service is quick and clean up fast cuz they turnover right away. It was first Friday downtown and there was a band outside the place. When the doors were closed you couldn't hear the band, but the restaurant had music on that was blaring. If you need to talk, go elsewhere. I was very disappointed on my return visit to The Post in Los Altos. First off, we were seated in a booth with a broken bench that seated only three people as the other bench was missing a back to it. We then went into the other side of the restaurant where the metal chairs make a horrid screeching sound on the concrete floor. Our wait staff seemed to neglect us and we had to flag them down for service as needed. The appetizer of chips and salsa was disappointing and served with a tiny bit of guacamole dip. Pleasant surprise for a Sunday Brunch in Los Altos. Ample varied outdoor seating could use a heat lamp more or two probably but once the sun settled in we were comfortable. Menu is packed with brunch and lunch options so it was hard to choose and honestly I didn't have high hopes since it seemed pretty standard/ typical fare. But what a nice surprise we discovered that day! We had peach lemonade yum! Breakfast burrito and the fried chicken and waffle Holy moly how much chicken was on there! We went here for Mother's Day and the place was hopping. I had requested a table "in the shade" and it was interpreted as "indoor". But I was a bit disappointed since the weather was beautiful and indoors was quite dark. The food was average. My son had the post breakfast of eggs, meat and potatoes. The plate (wish I had taken a photo) was "sad" looking. Not a pretty plate. Small serving of dry eggs and just something I could've done at home. Hubby had the fried chicken sandwich which he said was tasty. I had the chicken and waffles which were quite tasty and worth the crazy calories. Both plates again were plain with no garnish or anything to elevate the presentation. Would I go back? Sure. If I'm in the area I'd probably return. Solid food, decent service.
