I dropped off a package last week, and the tracking details have been stuck since 7/22--simply showing "label created, USPS awaiting item." When I visited the facility on Friday to check on my package, I was told that all items had been picked up. I went to the USPS on Post Drive, today to see if they could help, and was informed that the Post Box has its own operations and that they can't help with my situation. It was suggested that my package is likely "lost or misplaced." I really wouldn't recommend leaving any packages at this location; it seems like they have issues with lost items, and they won't do anything to assist you! read more

She guided me through the process and it only took five minutes and I was done. Excellent quick service with a beautiful attitude. With her service I will return and spread the word about this place because of April's professionalism. Notary Public services $15. Call ahead to make sure she's there If she's not there you will be helped by another employee. I used both and prefer her thoroughness and attitude. Copies $0.30 each self help. Boxes of all sizes, envelopes, padded envelopes, tape, cards, packaging materials, everything you need for mailing and shipping even moving boxes. Keys. That make key copies. Call ahead to make sure they can make your key. Sometimes keys have to be programmed and I didn't ask about that. Parking. Plenty of parking in the lot right in front of the store Location. I mailed an oversized size letter. The actual postage was $2.11. They charged me $3.25. That's an up charge of 54% and the customer service lady did not tell me until she had already printed out the postage label and placed it on my piece of mail. So I just paid it. I had a couple of other small pieces of prepaid mail with me- they wanted to charge me $1.00 to drop them off. Will be filing a formal complaint with USPS and whomever else that needs to be. This review is only based on Livescan services. (Their overall customer service and wait times were great) I am not sure if I had terrible luck with their machine or if something about their whole process produces unclear prints but I got my fingerprints rejected twice from this place. I went to UPS for the third attempt and they went through just fine. I have been fingerprinted a total of 15 times from various locations around California in my lifetime (Sheriff's offices, UPS, random printing shops, etc.) and The Post Box is the first place I have ever had issues with my fingerprints being rejected. Plus, their entire fingerprint process is way different than what I am used to receiving. I paid half the price at the Post Box as I did at UPS but received a much thorough fingerprinting process at UPS and my fingerprints were accepted with no issue. read more

Don't waste your time here. We went in for a notary. The lady said "oh where's the rest?" My sister brought every page and they hollered the pages weren't numbered correctly. My sister showed them the PDF from the state of Washington, but that wasn't good enough. They literally told us to change the page numbers for an official document. Mixed review. I went to The Post Box today based on its history of good yelp reviews. The first clerk there helped me with my Passport photos, no problem, all good. The second clerk was tasked with helping me notarize two documents. She told me she could notarize one but not the other "under California Notary law." I tried to have her speak directly with a representative of the agency requesting the documentation to figure out some kind of compromise, but she refused, saying, "I've clearly laid out my position, there's no reason to." 45 minutes later I left, frustrated and still needing a notary. One of the customers in line suggested I go to the Notary in the Creekbridge UPS store instead. I did so; 7 minutes to get everything notarized, signed, stamped and UPS'd. Save yourself the time and frustration, go to the UPS store instead. read more

Horrible experience having my passport photo taken. As I began to hold the white cardboard for my photo to be taken, in walks a customer who then proceeds to tell me I need a booking number under my chin. He stereotyped me and assumed I was a criminal based on nothing but my skin tone. The part the really surprised me was that the lady taking my passport photo began to laugh. It was an attempt to humiliate me, and they failed miserably. The photo taker could have easily told the man to leave or to not harass the customers, but instead she teamed up with him and joined in the laughter. It was so odd, and now that I have had time to ponder, I realize they were threatened by me and my success, including my ability to travel, and most likely full of envy. God will handle them on His own time, in the meantime I will enjoy my blessings from the Lord. read more

I will start off by saying they have a 5 star service for passport photos even In this pandemic,however when I went to get documents notarized it was the longest I had ever had to wait for such a task. It probably took about 15-20 I seriously cannot stress how long it took to get my documents notarized and there was no one in there besides me. With that being said they are good for certain things and some they aren't. hope this helps someone read more

Ramone, the owner, went above and beyond packing my paintings for shipping, making sure they were protected and secure. He even sent me a UPS label to ship the paintings to them if they weren't accepted by the airlines. He is truly a conscientious and extraordinary business owner. Visited this business for their Live Scan services. Noticed on my receipt that they charged me for not using a CA ID. This would have been fine, except I DID use a CA DL, and wasn't told about the fee. I returned to the store to inquire about the extra fee and was told it was because my ID has a crease in it, which it does, and needed to be entered in manually. I'm not quite sure I believe this, however, as they rang me up BEFORE the fingerprinting process and never attempted to swipe it. When I go to 21+ venues, I've never had a problem with it reading my birthdate. April took my ID to the back to ask Claudia, the original tech, and was told that Claudia knows what she's doing. I asked if they tried swiping it this time, and was told they had not. read more

I called The Post Box this morning to check on shipping time frames and the person I spoke to was very pleasant and helpful. I had a few questions and she answered them without the usual curtness you get when you call businesses with questions. So I went in to ship my package this afternoon and received the same great service. The store was busy but the employees were still friendly. From what I saw the employees recognized many of the customers. I will be using their services again. That said, I must come to the defense of these fine people & their "bedside manner", seemingly so easily trashed by "patrons" with what appears to be less-than-proficient personality perception skills. We have used this place multiple times for the notary service. Mostly because it's close to my work and easy to go on my lunch hour. I have to say I am always unhappy when I leave. Something about the service is rude. They are very formal and particular and this last time I signed for the notary and the lady asked me a question and I didn't understand her. When I said, "I don't understand" rather then being nice and explaining, she said all snotty, "It's really quite simple." Um....thanks for making me feel dumb lady! Also, I dropped something there once that actually already had postage on it and they charged me 25 or 50 cents to mail it...even though it already had postage. I have used The Post Box for about a year now; the UPS postal store I frequented previously no longer handles UPS so this was the most convenient for me. I usually only post positive reviews as I feel there are surely enough negative reviews being posted for most businesses-one more from me wouldn't make much difference. My experience with The Post Box-over time-has changed that thought for me. Even if they DO have enough NEGATIVE reviews-I'd like to add my two cents worth. I took in six pre-paid boxes. Two for UPS and four for USPS. The Post Box charges fifty cents to take PRE-PAID postal packages across the counter. I was not paying attention so when she counted the packages and charged me three dollars I handed her the money, thanked her, and left. To her credit she did count out loud saying that there were six packages, thus three dollars in fees-I should have seen the mistake then. That evening I realized that there were four pre-paid USPS packages so it should have been two dollars for the USPS fees. One dollar-no big deal really-but since they are SUCH STICKLERS for that fifty cent fee for USPS packages, I thought I'd mention it as I was going back in that day. I use their services usually a couple of times a week and it's usually one of two women there that assist me so when I saw her that day and told her what had happened I was AMAZED at her response...she stated that, huh-that didn't sound like something they would do...They didn't make mistakes like that.... Wow-I've never heard of a business that is THAT exceptional! They don't make mistakes like that. Hmmm. Indeed-she was the employee that had made the mistake...I suppose, to be fair-it's that attitude that I had felt from the moment I had begun using their services that finally bore it's teeth that prompted this review over a one dollar fee. They have never been very friendly and have always been-how do I say this-so DESERVING of the fee for taking a pre-paid box across the counter for USPS packages-offering the 'convenience' to the customer as justification...it just seemed really small to me. Justification-yes-that's the word. I feel JUSTIFIED in the writing of this most negative review of their services now. I feel that she was rude before the issue of the dollar arose, she was rude then and she was just as unpleasant the last time I frequented their shop. Had I realized their proclivity for perfection prior to using their services-I might not have begun using them at all. She never even asked if I had a receipt. To automatically declare that the CUSTOMER WAS WRONG-that the business didn't make mistakes like that...There for a second I wasn't sure if I had heard her correctly-she didn't even ask me to refer to the situation at all-just a simple declaration of their perfection was enough for me. And no-one dollar was not worth having any extra words with her. I'll gladly give my six dollars a week or so of pre-paid USPS packages to someone else. Perhaps that proprietor will have realized who keeps their doors open. Or how the money is obtained to provide the pay for another rude employee. They obviously have all the business they need. When ever I'm in town visiting family (was born & raised in Salinas) and I need to mail off goodies, I ALWAYS go to The Post Box! The staffs way friendly and you never have to wait to be helped. The last time I was there (aside from today's visit), was back in mid summer of 2011 and the gal who helped me REMEMBERED me and that I was stationed overseas, then asked how my family was doing. That, ladies and gentlemen, impressed me because she actually listened to me while we chit chatted a long time ago! I mean, I can barely remember what I talked about yesterday! So, kudos to The Post Box for really making their customers feel like they care and the wonderful service they always provide. :) read more

Unlike evidently some others, my experience with this business has been fantastic for the 12 years I have been going there, and I note the same for other customers who might have to wait a few minutes with me during crunch times.I've learned that there is about a 30-to-1 complaint-to-compliment ratio in industry.
