I had a very disappointing experience with the UPS Store in Salinas due to a lack of knowledge about the shipping services they offer. The day before my trip from California to Pennsylvania, I called to confirm that I could drop off my live leopard gecko for overnight shipping. According to UPS policies, certain live animals, including non-venomous reptiles, can be shipped through approved services. I had already purchased the shipping label, had the proper packaging, and had documentation from the reptile shipping company confirming that the shipment was authorized. My main interaction was with the manager at this location. He repeatedly told me that the shipment could not be accepted and insisted it was a USPS shipment, not UPS. I explained multiple times that it was a UPS label and shipment, but he continued to tell me otherwise. The way the conversation was handled made me feel like I was being dismissed rather than listened to. I also called the other Salinas UPS Store location for a second opinion and was simply told they would not accept it. Because I was told the shipment would be refused, I had to contact the reptile shipping company directly. Thankfully, they were extremely helpful and arranged for someone to pick up my gecko from my home. Unfortunately, the pickup didn't occur until around 6:00 PM, after the cutoff time for overnight shipping, causing an unnecessary delay and additional stress right before my cross-country trip. Fortunately, the next day, while I was already in Pennsylvania, the shipment was picked up on time and my leopard gecko arrived healthy and safe. This entire situation could have been avoided if the staff were properly informed about approved live animal shipments through UPS. I am grateful to the reptile shipping company for stepping in and resolving the issue, but I was very disappointed by the misinformation I received from this UPS Store. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Accepted and Prohibited Live Animals This is a comprehensive list of live animals accepted for transportation. I had a time sensitive package that was supposed to be delivered on 9/29/2025 out of Salinas. Instead, it went out on 9/30/2025. The window of delivery was listed from 8am to 9pm. I was not going to be home in the evening, due to work, and the package had to be signed for. So, I pulled up the website, hoping to find someone to narrow down that window so I could make whatever arrangements I could. The "chat" was a bot, with 7 options that were not what I needed. When I asked for a live agent, I was told I had to call in. Apparently, they have no live agents on chat. I called in. The phone tree went round in circles for almost half an hour before it agreed that I could talk to a live agent, and said my wait time was 11 minutes. Over 40 minutes passed, no one answered the phone. Apparently, they have no live agents on their business phone. I found their email address on their website, which was listed as a contact point. I emailed. I got an automated response, telling me the mailbox was NOT MONITORED, and it gave me a link. Back to the original, useless website. Apparently, they have no live agents monitoring their business email. I have nothing against the delivery folks or the people that man the offices. But the company itself offers no help UPDATE: I was contacted via text by "Mahi," at 11:09 am. "Mahi" said that the driver had 21 stops before me, but those should only take a few hours. "Mahi" said they would make sure the package arrived by 4 pm. At 2:17 pm, "Marco" responded to my FB Message and told me there were 20 deliveries before me. I asked what the driver had been doing for over 3 hours, if they had only delivered one package during that time. I screenshot the text conversation with "Mahi," and added it to the messenger chat. "Marco" did not respond until 2:39, when he basically said it would get there when it got there. I admit, by this time, I was angry, and I unfavorably compared UPS delivery service to Door Dash delivery service. Door Dash keeps me up to date while delivering $20 worth of food, and UPS can't keep track of the delivery of a $1200 phone. "Marco" responded at 3:10 pm. He said the driver had attempted delivery at 3:04, but the recipient was not there. I called him a bald faced liar. I had been sitting at my kitchen table, looking out the window to watch for the UPS driver. My street is a dead end. The only way a UPS truck could enter my road was by passing my house. I went to my gate. No attempted delivery notice anywhere. So now, UPS employees are lying to customers and not even attempting delivery. However, they updated the system showing the "attempted delivery." I started a claim with UPS. They are investigating (in the barest sense of the word) my claim. However, it looks like they don't know where my package is at this time. Sorry for the lengthy review. read more

This location has amazing customer service! I came here to get notary done for my son's birth certificate and have done 2 shipping and out of all the UPS stores I have been to...this is by far the best one! The nice gentleman that works there is super friendly and so quick that you're not waiting for hours in a long line. read more

In and out...perfect. Went in to have some shredding done. I was way over due to get this off of my things to do list. I had about 43 lbs of old check stubs and miscellaneous papers. UPS itself doesn't do the shredding themselves but has a company called Shred Nations put a locked container inside. UPS weighs your papers and charges 75 cents a pound then puts it in the lock box. Simple. I got nothing but good service, there's a few one star reviews telling about the rude guy and some bad service or being ripped off. Services cost, not much is really free. Know what you want and be clear on what your paying for. Last words...if you need it. read more

Im so upset that Im writing this review in the parking lot after leaving. If I could give this place negative stars I would. I went in to print ONE piece of paper and the store owner told me to send it to the store email. He printed it and charged me $5.00 to do it for me plus $0.45 for the actual paper. Like are you kidding me?? He then has the audacity to stare at me as I asked him if he's seriously about to charge me $5 for the piece of paper and he said yes if I print its $5.45 if you had used the printer yourself it would've just been the cost of paper. He never mentioned this information BEFORE. HES THE ONE WHO TOLD ME TO SEND IT TO THE EMAIL AKA HIM. Shady Shady Shady - I will not be back to this location. I highly recommend this location. The staff here is friendly, patient, and very helpful.

I've been here twice, and had bad experiences, so I decided to try it one more time. Big mistake. Everytime I go in, the owner is always so rude. I just had to drop off an already paid for package, and he gives me an attitude. I literally just have to throw it in the bin, and he is so rude about it. This is the third time he's done this. The UPS store in Creekbridge is soo much more professional and polite. Will never visit this location ever again. read more

I had to get a life scan for work. I really appreciate the fact that because it's hard to hold open one of my hands because of my cerebral palsy. I sent a letter overnight in early Jan/2019. 11 days later and letter not there? This letter was returned to this store because it was sent incorrectly due to their errors & Joel resent it, but never made it there??? He will not answer any calls from me at this point! They are very quick to shoot a snobby attitude with customers so CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!! - The people here have ZERO personality. - - Worse than this... I took a small box to ship. Moments before entering the store, I had one more item to put into the box. Thus, the box was almost, but not completely taped shut. - - I needed a SMALL strip of tape (about eight-inches at most) to seal the box. The guy at the counter said he was gonna charge me a dollar for a SMALL strip of tape. - The hell you are!! I went to this UPS store to have something faxed because it was on my way home. I normally go to the one on Constitution. I was charged $3 to fax the one page. I told the manager/owner that I just paid $2 the other day to have something faxed at the Constitution UPS store. He said that is another store and they can charge what they want. I'm not actually sure that is true because I know it is illegal for a McDonald's or any other similar franchise to charge a different price. In my opinion the owner is a thief. read more

I do not recommend this place unless you enjoy being ripped off. I asked to have 14 pages scanned to my email and was shocked when he charged me $17! He didn't even warn me that I was about to get ripped off. No prices advertised anywhere, a total scam. He said I should have asked for the price. I asked why it was so expensive since I didn't even use ink or paper and he said it was because the use of the internet! I just paid for his entire month of internet LOL. Ridiculous. Refused to give us any option other than 6 months for a postal box. We knew our stay in the area would be temporary and asked if 3 months would be a possibility. They were not flexible. We had to leave town 3 days later - and had paid them $130. Not a cent of this would be refundable even under these extreme circumstances. On top of this, they are charging $14 to our account to forward a single piece of mail. You'd think any company that cares about the happiness of its customers would do us the common courtesy of at the very least forwarding our mail free of charge. This costs them nothing and they already have $130 from us for basically nothing in return since we left 3 days after! Honestly, this company is pathetic and I will never do business with them again. USPS looks like a good option, and that must mean that UPS is REALLY terrible. read more
