I was directed here by the PG police department because I was looking for ink fingerprints to be done. I called before making my way there to check if ink was done here and a very kind lady (I'm guessing her name is Linda based on other reviews) gave me all the info, price, etc. When I got there they had a good system in place for social distancing and the gentleman was very good about disinfecting the counter between customers. The shop is small but they had lots of things to look at while I waited. I found both the owners to be extremely kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Linda knew what she was doing. She went over the instructions to the fingerprinting card I needed done. I've had my ink fingerprints done before so I know you really just have to be loose and let the person doing the prints move your hands/fingers around without any stiffness or help, otherwise the prints dont come out well. After Linda told me where the post office was because she wanted to make sure I got my prints out today instead of tomorrow when she would be able to take them. We had pleasant conversation throughout the process and at the end she gave me 2 lollipops - one for me and one to take home to my husband. I had such a good experience here and would definitely recommend this little shop! read more

Like other people had mentioned before I would give them a '0' star if I could. The old couple Manny and Linda are the rudest people I have encountered when -paying- for a service. I rather dive to CSUMB or all the way to Salinas Sheriffs Office where is cheaper. The mail box is very unwelcoming place if you can see since you come in that place is full of signs with orders. The couple is rude and if you have questions they answer screaming at you and what they want to answer there is no room to ask questions for answers they don't have. They both think they have it all and know it all. Seriously, trust me is worth to go to Salinas at the sheriffs office where they see you by appointment and is only between $25.00 and $55.00 depending on the livescan you need. read more

5 stars well deserved! Today I went into the Mailbox for the second time in the last 2 years to get a livescan done. I had remembered how fantastic my last experience here was, so I knew exactly where to go for my teaching credential livescan today (last time I went for a job livescan). I am totally blanking on the names of the owners who helped me out both times, but I absolutely love how friendly, down to earth, humorous, and helpful these folks are. They triple checked the information on my paperwork to my I.D. to help prevent any mishaps in the paperwork (deadlines are soon!). Just a tip: the parking lot next door is for the doctors office only! The security guard ran into the mailbox to tell me this but allowed me to park there for the time-being. So save yourself the hassle and park on the street! I continue to bring my business here and recommend the Mailbox to my classmates! read more

I cannot believe the treatment I got from a blond lady named Linda. As she was working on my first set of prints, she said "Yeah, you might have to redo them. Your fingerprints aren't good". I asked her if I should wash my hands and start over as we only worked on my right hand. She told me she's not going to do my fingerprints, told me I should somewhere else to get my fingerprints done. She told me, and I quote " You should go to the police station. They are cheaper and do a better job." So for anyone who needs to get their fingerprints done in Monterey County, don't waste your time going to the Mail Box. Go to the police station. According to Linda, it's cheaper and probably much friendlier, and they WILL NOT refuse to service you. I've never been treated so badly in my whole life! I would actually give this place 0 if I could!! read more

It's a bit of a hodgepodge in there, but Manny & Linda provided exemplary service to me and the other customers I observed. They seem like good, down-home people who it would be fun to have a beer with, yet they display competence and savvy that more businesses need to have. I am quite surprised that this business has received all 5 star reviews, are they relatives? I walked in for a live scan service and the woman (whom I assume was the owner) was so unnecessarily rude I ended up just walking out. She has an assertive personality and I noticed she raised her voice at the customers, she did the same with me as I did not have something filled out correctly on my form I suppose...a phone number or something minor and easily corrected. Obviously this employee was very stressed out. After waiting patiently in line for several minutes with others, there were no apologies, no 'thank you for waiting, I will be right with you'. No common courtesy whatsoever. While waiting, I decided to check a message on my phone, she looked up and asked me if I was 'bothered' by something! I beg your pardon, but is this really how one should speak to a customer?? Instead of engaging in this bad behavior, I simply walked out. I still do not know what I did wrong to make her feel such aggression, perhaps just negative energy or something unrelated. But I will say that I am a manager and if she were one of my employees she would have been reprimanded. Your customers are not your children...very, very unprofessional attitude. I hope they read their Yelp reviews. Another tip, they are overpriced for their services, live scan is cheaper at the PD. read more

Like many before me have said, and many after me will say, if I could give this place zero stars, I would. Manny, the guy I'm assuming owns the place turned me away, not once but twice. I was sent here to get finger prints for a new job, and I hope to god, no one else has to be sent to this location. The first time I wandered in, to get finger prints, I came in at 4:35 and found out they stop finger prints at 4:30, not a big deal, but when I tried to continue to ask questions about when they were open to do finger prints, I got nothing but rude responses from manny. His wife, the blonde lady named Linda seemed a lot nicer and more helpful than her husband. She tried to help me figure out a time to get my prints done but Manny didn't want anything to do with helping. The second time I came in, I was turned away because I had the sniffles and he didn't want to get sick.... I'm not joking... the sniffles got me turned away by this rude man... I wish I could have been reimbursed for my gas and time that I spent going to this place, because if I had known this guy didn't want anything to do with my business, I would have gladly gone else where and not wasted my time. I hope this is helpful to other. Don't waste your gas or time here like I did. If you have to go anywhere in Monterey for finger prints DO NOT GO HERE. I'll suggest many other places to go, other than here! You'll leave this place feeling like you've been reprimanded and the guy ruins you whole day! I've been a Private Mail Box renter here for about a year and a half and besides the abnormally high monthly rental rates (compared to the UPS Store or other Post Office for that matter), my experience was OK & I didn't have much to report. Unfortunately, when not one but TWO of my packages that had rather expensive contents were riffled through & opened/re-sealed I started to have doubts about this business. Anyway, I spoke with three other customers who within the past 3-4 months started having a bunch of "delivery issues" as well. I brought the problem up with the woman at the counter & she gave me all these lame excuses. So a week after that I talked to her husband & co-owner (he has a refrigeration business) and what really annoyed me was that he gave me a totally different and inconsistent set of flimsy excuses. So, after a ton of red tape, I was able to talk to a Postal Inspector who informed me that there are currently, "numerous complaints pending against this business for an 'array' of problems." He wouldn't give me details but when I asked him if he would trust his business there he said, "ummmmm, not a chance." I wish I knew this before I got a ton of new stationary printed up with this as my return address..so I guess I'm stuck with them for another year or so. You live & learn though. read more

The couple that runs this place might be really nice people, based on the other reviews. I wouldn't know because they were very rude to me. I needed to get Live Scan fingerprinting done in order to volunteer at my daughter's school, so I chose this place based on location. I had my 7 year old and my 8 month old (attached to me in the baby Ergo) along and apparently that is a major violation of their own personal shop rules. I wasn't offended by the rule so much, but how nasty the guy spoke to me, as if I had any way of knowing this ahead of time. And in front of my daughter! Be aware, if you need Live Scan and have children, go elsewhere. I called five other places and ALL of them were perfectly okay with my kids tagging along. read more

They got the fingerprinting done efficiently, however he reviewed my forms aloud...that is, read out personal info including Social Security number for all to hear. I was shocked. Then, while I was being fingerprinted, a loud man came in just to hang around their office, and every other word out of his mouth was a four-letter word. It's a tiny space. I couldn't wait to get out of there. My daughter had to get fingerprinted for her credential and I had her go elsewhere as this place didn't seem safe. I could not figure out if I did something that rubbed him wrong or if he's always so careless or what. In any case, he should know better than to disclose social security no.s.
