We have the best local post office here in Marina! Everyone here is extremely kind and friendly, going out of their way to patiently help you. People working here routinely take extra time (without any prompting) to figure out the most economical, sometimes creative, options for sending your packages, which is so amazing! US Post Office - Marina Post Office - Post Offices Near Me - Marina, California

This is an awful Post Office. We just moved into a new development, and one problem we are having is that the old street names have been changed, and so our new street name/address is not recognized on Google Maps, or even within the Post Office system, so our mail is not being forwarded regularly. We were asked by the Mountain View Post Office to contact the Marina PO, and that's where the problem started. The man that my wife spoke to (she didn't catch his name) had a NASTY attitude. He said several condescending and antagonistic things, like, "I suppose you filed a complaint that your pizza didn't get delivered", (WE CALLED BECAUSE THE MV PO ASKED US TO!!!) and was completely rude to my wife, not responding to anything she was saying to him. The corker was when she mentioned that our common block mailbox was a little wobbly and wondered who was responsible to fix it, he snapped back, "For what you paid for those houses, the builder should be." What does the cost of my home have to do with anything? Completely unprofessional. read more

I like mailing my packages here but it is not as fast as going to other post offices like the one in Watsonville. I have waited as much as 30 minutes in line to get packages mailed and get a receipt. I insist on a receipt as once I left a some packages that got manually tracked and then mysteriously disappeared. But now I see a major problem here. In the front of the the building it clearly states you are required to wear a face mask. However, each time I have come in, there is at least one customer not wearing one! Why is this law not getting enforced?!? The staff just look the other way unless another customer says something...OMG!!! COME ON!!! INSIST ON THEM WEARING A MASK OR STATE NO SERVICE...SIMPLE!!! Even yesterday at about 2 pm, I saw a young couple with a toddler and all three were not wearing a mask!!!! DUMB PEOPLE!!! OMG!!! AND COME ON! Why cannot the staff be more assertive?!? THIS IS THE LAW AFTER ALL! ENFORCE IT! NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO REMIND YOU!!!!!!!! I PLAN TO NOT GET THE VIRUS. ANY ONE WHO IS NOT WEARING A MASK AND HAS NOT GOT THE VACCINE BY NOW IS TOTALLY IGNORANT AND SELFISH!!!!!!!!! PERHAPS THE USPS STAFF NEED TO BE REMINDED OF THE SEVERITY OF THE EPIDEMIC AND HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE DIED SO FAR AS APPARENTLY THESE ANTI-MASKERS DON'T CARE. Or perhaps they need a more honest sign in the front that reads- Masks are required, however USPS staff do not care if you break the law as we will look the other way unless someone says something. Helpful to note that you have until 6 PM to ring the buzzer in the lobby to get your package or parcel. I put 4 stars because it would be nice if the hours went one or two more during the week, because it's more challenging for working folk to get there before closing. Everything considered, I've been coming for years and can vouch that they are doing a great job. read more

Had another encounter with this post office today. USPS website sent me an e-mail saying that I had a package waiting. Went to the post office --no package. The supervisor (Jun) looked it up and the package is not for my address. He was extremely rude about it and acted like it was my fault, and I shouldn't have had a package sent to the wrong address. IT'S NOT A PACKAGE FOR ME, DIMWIT! Why did the USPS send me the notice? I've had a few encounters with this person and he never acknowledges his or his crew's mistakes. read more

Marina post office is in an old building with not the most convenient parking. The employees though are the people who make the post office a great place! It's the familiar faces of this small town that welcome anyone in every time you visit! They always have a smile and kind word to offer as well as always reminding to push the green button when using your debit or credit card. If you need to rent a po box there seems to always be one available. I used a marina po box for many years and never had trouble! I appreciate the early hours to pick up bulk packages but find it frustrating because the post office closes so early! (Well only when you you just need access to the boxes and you can't get them!) read more

SO HELPFUL!!!!! I'm in quite a pickle because my boss sent my paycheck to my old address and AG Davi refuse to give it to me when it arrives. So, I called the post office in Monterey and got some well meaning people but ultimately went unhelped. Thankfully, I went down to this post office and the supervisor instructed me to request a hold on my mail so I can pick it up and put in a change of address for where I use to live. I do a fair amount of business here and really do love the staff. Most post office get a bad rap because they're understaffed which they are. When I can't say about this post offices that everyone who works there his card and competent. Even when they have a long line you can expect to get out of there in probably 15 minutes or less. read more

Poorly trained workers. Mailed a 14 page letter in a standard envelope. Marina's post master wanted $2.63. That's the price of a package. That's complete BS. Postage Price Calculator showed 91 cents. Went to Salinas, they also wanted 91 cents. San Jose post office - 91 cents. Went all the way to San Francisco, also 91 cents. It clearly showed me that the marina postal workers doesn't know the hell they are doing. So in the future, when they want to charge you an insane amount, double check with other postal offices, do no trust them -- they have no idea what they are doing. read more

Review is for Passport services. I am a commuter so my ideal time would be Saturdays. The posted time for passport office is 9:30-12PM for Saturdays but i went for almost 3 weeks straight to find the passport office closed. I had to try two different USPS in San Jose to get my passport papers done but was turned down due to long waits. Went back to this office today 8/4/17 and was almost immediately finished and got it shipped. So if you do try to do your passport on Saturdays they are CLOSED! But try Salinas which was going to be my 2nd option which is confirmed to be open on Sat. read more

When we moved to Marina, we had to obtain our mail key from the post office. The process was a total mess, taking a week because they were out of locks! When we asked about the timing, the clerk really didn't seem to have any idea when the locks would be in. He was friendly but completely clueless. Then, we moved from one apartment to another within the same complex. They were unable to simply move our lock to the new mailbox in the same set of boxes and were also unable to simply deliver to the old box for which we already ha a key. So...we had to wait again for a new lock. During that time, we had to pick up our mail at the Post Office and wait in the slow lines there. When we arrived at the counter one day, the clerk asked us why we weren't getting our mail delivered to our apartment. We explained the situation, and the clerk offered to check on the situation. After many minutes of waiting, we were told they were waiting for more locks (yep, we already knew that). Really?! Our tax dollars at work... Anytime we have to go to the post office to pick up a package, we rock-paper-scissors to see who gets stuck with the task. read more

I saw a negative review about this Post Office from someone named Anna L., and was surprised. She was complaining about a "lost" package, but there was no tracking number to track it. It's easy to criticize when you've never done the job. I find everyone at the Marina Post Office to be professional, helpful and they have gone above and beyond the call of duty many times. Even the Postmaster is out helping customers rewrap and wrap their packages!! I appreciate everything you folks do!! Keep up the good work!! Although the USPS is supposed to facilitate the process of getting or renewing passports, this is apparently beyond the ability -- or more likely, interest level -- of the worker I spoke with in Marina. When asked about getting mine renewed, I was directed to the forms table. Fair enough. But when I explained that I had a completed form, my old passport and my checkbook, she told me to "get a photo and mail everything in." Not that the sort of help that will earn her a thank you, but not the sort of non-help that will affect her government pension, either -- unfortunately. read more

The Staff is great, however if you ever have a problem, don't expect the Supervisor to actually follow through or call you back. In fairness, it's only been 2 weeks since I was told he would call. I had great customer service last Sunday when I arrived to mail a last minute birthday card to Chicago and found the post office closed. As I stood there briefly, two employees exited the front door with mail bags in hand and said they would be glad to mail my card. I too was served by the older gentleman with glasses today, I believe his name was Richard, I was a bit too angry to remember. I arrived at the post office at 14:48 to renew my passport. You can renew passports until 3pm. He was the only one working up front and there were about 5 people ahead of me and he was not working very quickly. When I arrived at the window at 15:02 he told me that the passport section was now closed. When I told him I had been in line for over 10 minutes he said that I should have let them know that I needed a passport. Does that mean I am supposed to yell from the middle of the line for everyone to clear out because I am here for a passport? Not quite sure. I do know that there is a small room at the end of the building that shows passport hours with no employees inside. Funny thing is that after I finally got to the front of the line they opened up another window. Wow, what great service. I will now have to wait another month before I can get the time to try again. This post office is the best because there's hardly a wait. This review should be a 5 star but because of the old man with glasses that served me today, it just lowered their ratings to a 1 star. If you are being served by an old man, you'll probably want to punch him in the face. I received a package that was slightly opened that wasn't mine. I drove it to the post office to return it because it wouldn't fit in my apartment mailbox. The old man with glasses served me and I told him that I wanted to return it. I told him that the package was slightly opened when I received it. The old man looked inside, slightly opened it even more HIMSELF, blaming and accusing me of opening it. He didn't let me go as if I was in trouble and he asked a co worker what he should do because "I opened the package", the co worker had more common sense and said if the package if not mines, then they should take it back.
