My parents, who live on the west side of town, have mail delivered to the house. WHY do I have to go to the post office to get my mail? If that wasn't bad enough, they refuse to give you packages. If your tracking number says your package has been delivered to the post office (remember, you don't have a choice!), good luck getting it. You have to wait for THEM to tell you you can pick up your package, regardless of when it actually arrived. Paid all that extra money for overnight or two day shipping? Be warned: it's wasted money because of how these people handle mail. The service here creates a huge problem when buying things online especially, because you don't always know how a vendor will ship your item. You are forced to put the PO Box for every purchase, because if the vendor ships USPS and you put your street address, you're screwed. This post office will send your package back. Most post offices will at least cross reference addresses and hold your package for you. Gonzales? What a joke. They don't even tell you you received a package. They indiscriminately return to sender. And if your package is delivered on a Friday? Too bad! You won't see your package until Monday because they're too lazy to go get it for you, claiming they're "sorting" it, even if you have the tracking as proof that it was delivered hours ago. This is inexcusable. I shouldn't be forced to use a PO box. I should have mail delivered to my house. I came into this location for assistance with shipping out my package and ensuring I have all of the right documents. The first person to help me was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, when we got to the end of my package she informed me that I have to pay either by check or with a money order as this is all the department of state will accept for passport renewals. I was forced to leave, go to the bank, and come back. At this point, I was helped by a different employee that was helpful- but a little rude. Additionally, I noticed other employees being rude and snappy to customers.

We paid our most recent bill ($166 annually for a small box) by mail one week in advance of the 1/31 due date printed on our bill. A few weeks later, I was in town and went to check our box, only to find I had been locked out. When I asked to speak to the manager (JR) he advised me that notices were slipped into boxes in early January that customers had to pay for their renewal by 1/9 in order to avoid a rate increase to $198. If you were out of town during the holidays and didn't get the notice, too bad. Even though we had paid the $166 bill on time, he demanded an additional $32 PLUS a $25 late fee. According to JR, we were responsible for accessing our box on a daily basis in order to receive and act on any such notices of fee increases - even those which conflicted with the bill we were previously mailed. Really? Daily? Where is this ridiculous policy written? JR insisted that this requirement was printed on the USPS PO Box application, but couldn't show me where - because it is not. Bottom line, this Louis DeJoy wannabe could care less about being fair to loyal customers.
