Our home, auto, umbrella, and rental insurance policy holder is exiting caifornia. Being a AAA member for 60 plus years, I called the Salinas Branch insurance agent on Friday , 4 Jan. She was very pleasant and took all our information and said would get back in two hours with estimates. I called at the end of the day as she did not call. She said was busy and that another agent who had more time would call me on Monday, with the estimates. On monday I call the recommended insurance agent and asked if he had all the needed information. He said he did and would get back to me in 2 hours. He never called back and left him VM and sent email on next day, Tuesday, still no response. On Wednesday I ended up calling the Monterey AAA insurance agent who got me the information immediately. If the two insurance agents in the Salinas AAA, that I communicated with are reflective of Salinas AAA operation. I would avoid working with the Salinas AAA office. read more

I have been a member for several of years and one of the reasons I chose AAA was for the fast DMV services. However, now one of the staff members mentioned wait time is 45 min long. He then directed me to the DMV Kiosk, Online or store Kiosk. I find it very unpleasant to be directed elsewhere, when as members we pay for extra services. The wait times are as a long as if I went to the DMV. I now had to pay my registration online and pay a service fee. And I have to wait 5 business days to obtain my sticker. Grateful for the DMV services but what happened to the customer service at this AAA? So I went to get some DMV stuff done. I was dressed in my professional work clothes, hair and make-up done. Great customer service. Two days later I went to finish said DMV stuff but was in rainy day, running errand clothes, no makeup, and with my baby in tow. Same ladies. Super rude and awful service. If you have an office in your area and need to use their DMV KIOSK services..DO SO. Salinas Branch is large, well lite and well maintained. Just call to see if your DMV business can be conducted at the AAA Kiosk. Non finer.. if your DMV dealings are within their contract. Driving to the AAA office is actually easier than using the CA DMV official web site from your own home..even at 15 miles driving distance. If only all DMV services could be performed at AAA. Wow, that's a pipe dream Now my RANT... If CA DMV can keep their website up, and can transfer more services to AAA, DMV would have more $$ and AAA might get a lot more done for their members. DMV is noisy, crowded and NOT well maintained. More efficiency is Always the case with "FOR PROFIT" companies. Example: I was in to AAA to renew registration in January 2022 car#1, and again in March 2022 , car#2, and both times I had to wait until the CA. DMV web site was up. 2 days before, in attempting to use the CA DMV website..it was down. AAA Always offers great service but the help I got yesterday at the Salinas location was exceptional. My registration tag was taken, I came for a replacement but forgot my paperwork. The DMV service desk representative helped me find my VIN and helped me complete the DMV application for the replacement sticker. Patient, kind and helpful, she made me feel like she really cared about fixing my problem. I appreciated the service and recommend joining for the service they offer. read more

AAA RV towing is a joke. I have roadside assistance and towing for 200 miles with the Premier card I've tried on three different occasions to get my RV towed less than 200 miles and AAA can't get any of their contractors to show up to do it. I filed a complaint at the Salinas office and apparently it was submitted to the escalation team never heard a word I've never had a problem with getting a car or truck towed but the RV towing is a scam they wanted me to contract with someone and then submit it back to AAA for a possible reimbursement beware AAA never contacted me back I had to end up driving my RV after I repaired it on the road no one ever showed up to toe because no one wanted to tow it close to 200 miles so if you have an RV don't worry about getting AAA towing because they lie lie lie lie read more

Went to renew my plates at this location and they said I owed $375 on my due to penalties. That amount made no sense but the more I asked they just wouldn't help and just kept saying I owed that amount. I went to the DMV and told them that I wanted to know how much money I owed on my plates to have them up to date. DMV said the only amount owed was $155. How the FCK was AAA trying to charge me over twice the amount owed? I wonder if AAA scams people like that all the time because they only explanation I can see is that they tried to rip me off with over $200. Be very careful when you do any DMV transactions at AAA, you might be getting overcharged. read more

They raised my insurance saying I had a point on my record. Had I not brought in my DMV printout where it "clearly shows I don't have a point", they would have kept it on there, charging me double over $2000.00 a year. Now they are forcing you/me to get "road side assistance", if you want car insurance with them. They NEVER discussed what my deductible would be to renew my policy. I'm very disappointed on AAA.... In another occasion I walked in and paid in cash, the person behind the counter NEVER gave me a receipt. I didn't notice this till I got to my car and I was organizing my paper work. I went back inside and she looked at me, as if she had seen a Ghost. I told her, "you didn't give me a receipt," she got very quite with a look of worry and printed one up. This office is starting to get more and more Sketchy.... Over the phone isn't any better! About a year ago, I called to upgrade my roadside assistance, they charged me the whole price, as if, I was just opening it up not giving me a CREDIT ON THE FACT I ALREADY HAD IT, JUST UPGRADING IT. Now I'm looking for a new car insurance. If I don't cancel my insurance before the month ends I'll be paying $50. extra and because i'm driving more miles than what I should. I asked them "how do you I'M DRIVING MORE miles?" They said "AAA has ways of finding out, either through oil changes, smog". I think they are making this up, because I do oil changed and that is confidential. I've never done a smog on my car. It's too new for that. This sounds like fraud to me, just a scamp, to charge me/you more... Not yet a member of (Alliance), but I got 2 quotes one of 1000 deductible=$116.20 a month. Second for 500 deductible =$134.20 a month. Now looking into Costco.. I still don't know what my deductible would be for AAA they only talk about the bill. Update, looks like I might be going with Costco car insurance. I'll be saving a lot. My monthly payment looks like it will be $80. for a $1000. deductible or $90. a month for $500. deductible and if my fiance and I go together it will be a bigger savings. What looked like a bad experience at AAA turned out to be a blessing in disguise. If, your not a Costco member become one, because it's worth it and they too have road side service "optional" not a "requirement" to be insured through them. 1855-531-9249 is their number. We went to transfer ownership from my car to my daughter and transfer my personalized plates. We were greeted by a pleasant employee at the door who welcomed us in. There was one person ahead of us inside when she left another friendly knowledgeable e,employee explained what forms we needed to. Complete and gave us the forms. I had just purchased an R.V. from my step dad and came into this office to not only register it in my name, but also sign up for road side services. Erica was very courteous and helpful in signing me up for premium roadside assistance. Knowing I have AAA to be there for me if I run into trouble on the road is very nice! It not only covers my R.V. but my cars and motorcycle as well. You can't put a price on peace of mind! Then Molly was extremely helpful with handling all the paperwork involved with the title transfer and even fixing my goofs with the paperwork. I fully admit that I am not a big fan of doing all that legalistic paperwork crap and when I fill in something wrong or put info in the wrong spot it makes me dislike it even more.. but the patient way Molly helped me through it all was such a relief and I really appreciate it!
