This was my first time at the Pike, but it certainly was a great one. Parking is certainly not an issue; the Pike has a huge, well lit parking lot that made it easy to find a spot even on a Saturday night. The appetizers came in a timely fashion, as did the drinks and food. They have a great selection of beers, mixed drinks, and shots which are all really good. The menu is filled with so many diverse options, it made it difficult to decide what to eat. Their wings were alright, but I was a little disappointed in them; I prefer to have my wings dressed completely in sauce instead of having it poured on top. Our waitress was bubbly, attentive, and knowledgeable of the menu items and specials. She brought refills as they were needed and was overall very nice. The atmosphere was welcoming and the place was packed! The place was rather noisy, but you could hold a conversation at a reasonable level. There were so many TVs it made it really easy to watch all of the sports games; however, they were rather distracting if one wasn't interested in watching sports. There was a bond between fans watching the Penn State game and it was fun watching them celebrate after each touchdown. Been here once and won't go back. The wings are so damn small. And they made me sick. I don't think they were cooked all the way. The only thing good was the alcohol. The Pike Cafe has come a long way. My wife and a few friends decided to make reservations and have a meal and a few drinks before a concert and we had a great time. The burgers are fantastic and they have very good drink selection. The private parking lot is very convenient. The only drawback is that the tables are a bit too close together, but it was very crowded that night with an event going on. read more

Terrible service when Nicole is bar tending! Too busy talking to friends rather than servicing every paying customer! Also quick to ask if you want to cash out as her shift is ending....not gonna get tips or return customers with terrible service like that! Sure hope they don't have to split tips because the other bartenders deserve so more since they do the work while she stands around! This place is terrible. We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon, there are maybe 8 people at the bar, yet it took the bartender 15 minutes to serve us our first round of drinks. After another 15 minutes we had to flag the bartender down yet again for a refill. We also asked for a menu which she never gave us so we had to locate our own. I heard such great things about this place, but after our visit today we will not be returning. If this is how they run their business when they are slow, I would hate to see them busy. Good food, great atmosphere. One plus is that they have lots of televisions with many sports. They will accommodate you if you want to tune into any of them. There is a parking lot right across the street now, so you don't have to worry about finding parking. If you are attending anything at Reverb, I highly recommend stopping by and having some good food before you go. Great local place. Great place for a traveler. It was my first time and the staff treated me as if I had been coming for years. Place is very clean, and the food was amazing. Great beer selection and nightly specials as well. They are located in Downtown Reading, however they have a huge (50 spots) parking lot next to it that is fenced and just for Pike Cafe customers. I stopped in the Pike for the first time in over 10 years (moved out of town). I had been craving the wings ever since I moved. It was a Saturday afternoon and there was plenty of room for our group of 6. The food was good and the drinks were cheap. I don't know if the wings were as good as I remember but they were still good. My only complaint was that our server seemed a little overwhelmed with too many tables. I love the Pike. As hard as this place tries to be a bar, it is a fantastic restaurant. They have their own well-lit parking lot, so no worries about being in a city neighborhood. Ordered food from here through delivery dudes. The food was delicious and as I ordered. The ribs where oh so yummy. Even my dessert the pike Sunday came good and not just a melted ice cream. Burgers where good and huge big plus for very hungry people or a share for two people. Everything was labeled so I new before opening what everything was. I have been here several times for lunch. It is a good crowd that is sports bar oriented, but can serve well for a casual business lunch. The crab bisque soup is great and the quality food is in good portions with pleasant and prompt service by the staff. We made a reservation four days prior for a 630pm. Waited 10 minutes after till we got our seats. While waiting for our seats a female hostess started cursing out another customer in front of my young daughters... once we finally got seated we waited another 10 minutes to get a waitress... we had to go get a waitress ourselves because no one knew they had our table. We never got utensils until asked for them. We got our food at a reasonable time... the food was great, but we barely seen our waitress. read more

I ordered food after work. I got wings, mozzarella sticks, and brushetta (weird combo). First off the the brushetta was CLEARLY not fresh. It was in a separate container filled with what tasted like balsamic vinegar and some other bs. The wings were very hard and soaked in bbq, I couldn't even taste the chicken. Get bottles or cans of beer! The Pike is another Berks place that that jams customers by pouring short beers. For one thing, they're super thick glass "pint" glasses are not pints at all, they're 12 ozs. Then on top of that they short pour. I'm not exaggerating when I say 90% of the beers I saw leave the bar last night were short by at least a few ounces. Nice, 10 Oz beers. Was it cause it was Wing Night? I have been going to the Pike cafe for years being from Reading, and have always enjoyed the experience there until last night. I have no idea what was happening there but my familys experience was nothing like it had always been previously! The three of us ordered their famous wings. I was very disapointed! Not only were the wings tough and overdone, some of the sauces were merely sprinkled on the wings, barely giving them any of the flavors we ordered. My husband and I also ordered the Mango Caribbean salad. His with tuna , mine with chicken. After tossing the salad around with my fork, i didnt find any dressing on it. It is supossed to come with a mango habanero dressing. I asked the server for dressing and when she came back to our table she said well the reason there is no dressing on the salads is because we are out of it. It would of been nice to know that ahead of time but we ordered another dressing and then ate our salads. My son ordered a burger but he couldnt finish it with the bun. The bun for some reason was so soggy I am assuming from the grease of the burger that he was forced to take it apart and eat just the burger by itself. He didnt enjoy it at all. Lastly, my son asked our server for a Not your fathers root beer and they were out of it. I dont understand, it is a sat night, a prime time for dining at 5:30 pm and they are out of things already and that is early in the evening! Very disapointing food experience!! read more

Went yesterday ordered two apps and three sandwiches. The waitress came and put the apps on the table. We each had about two bites when out came our lunch. I just looked at the waitress in amazement, and she said do you want me to put it in the back to keep it warm. REALLY!! I guess my face did say it all... The wings are amazing and the food is ok. But this is the second time I've been there when we barely touched the apps when out came the meal. Very disappointing as there is nothing like feeling rushed to eat and get out and the place had empty seats. Won't be headed back anything soon. read more

Came here for the first time last night and the moment I opened the door, damn near everyone at the bar turned around staring me down with a dirty look as if they never seen a girl all dolled up. Anyway, it's very small and tight. It took the waitress like 15 minutes to get our drinks to our table. (I ordered a Red Headed Slut) The lit parking lot was nice, too bad I didn't get to actually park in the lit area. I'm not sure if I would go back or not. I wasn't impressed.
