Great new spot up north. Drove up all the way from driftwood and it didn't disappoint. We grabbed the last whole fried fish of the day, perfectly steamed for spring rolls. They have some authentic dishes that you won't find other places. This is also the first I've heard of a spot in town that does Bo 5 Mon (beef served 5 different ways). ATX has been asking for something similar, check this place out folks! read more

Ordered it on door dash and maybe it's just me but Houston Vietnamese food is just way different. It's so flavorful and well done. My spring rolls were coming apart when we got them even though they were individually wrapped. They just weren't wrapped tightly enough and the pork pieces were a little dry. Pho broth was tasty but wish it tasted meatier. Got the kids size BoNe and it was good. read more

Austin went from only one place to five places for Bo Ne! Bo Ne Dac Biet ($19.50) I appreciate the multiple components and different meats. Could've used some extra butter on the side to fatten up the pate and bread. The pieces of beef was tossed in a savory brown sauce. We were hoping steak cubes where it could be served medium rare, but these were still good with the sauces. The xui mai (meatballs) were simmered in the classic sweet garlic tomato sauce and Vietnamese ham. The banh mi (bread) was on the softly toast side and airy to soak up all the sauce. Although not out of this world, this is the most true to Houston Bo Ne that I've had in Austin. Hot Stone Pho ($30) is like a deconstructed pho is the easiest way to explain. To eat, you test a piece of rare steak in the temperature of broth you want and then add all the ingredients in at once, mix then eat. It's not supposed to be hot pot style where you dip one ingredient at a time, no... The noodles are the freshly made kind. With that said, they lack the chewy texture but it's the most appropriate noodles for this style of eating pho in order to cook through. The meats were very fresh and cut thicker than other pho shops, and the main feature was the bone marrow which worked well because the broth was lean. Speaking of broth, it had a stronger star anise flavor. For price is it worth? Maybe to just try because this is one of those activities that the "richer" in Vietnam does do but paying $15 instead for a regular bowl is just fine by us! I visited this place on a little weekend excursion in Austin and was pleasantly surprised! My rule for non-American food is if I can pronounce the restaurant it probably isn't good, but this was really tasty! Even my iced coffee caught me off guard. Service is pretty straightforward, you order and then you pay at the register instead of the table. It's just a cute and casual Vietnamese place, if I were local I'd visit again. read more

Small Vietnamese restaurant in the arboretum area. The restaurant opening and wanted to try it out. Service need some work. They kept bringing food out to the wrong the table multiple times. They also forget to bring out some items to tables and I notice people kept reminding them. Food is okay nothing amazing for me. The Kroger sriracha doesn't taste like the original sriracha. It is more on the sweeter side and not spicy at all. The banh mi (V-1) was on the salty side. Pho was also on the sweeter side for the broth. Overall, there are other places I would go than here at this time. Maybe as they continue things will get better. read more

It's a solid spot and gets the job done. Large portions, good pho. I got the p8 combination which is my usual go-to, and also tried the spring rolls. I'd say that the combination lacked tendon which most places include. I believe the price was also a smidge higher than most places. I'd also say that the fluorescent lighting was a bit harsh as an atmosphere critique. Overall, if I were nearby and happened to want pho I wouldn't be opposed to coming back -- but if I were choosing a pho place from scratch there would be a few off the top of my head that I would probably prefer more. read more

They have a baked whole fish that I really enjoy! Must order ahead. Or you might be able to get it if you call ahead same day. Comes with fermented anchovy sauce but I also recommend getting the filtered house made fish sauce too to try. Great value. read more

Had dinner with two friends tonight during the one pho's soft opening. The employees are very nice, welcoming, and eager. Between us three females, we ordered one cast iron skillet house favorite combo that comes with a side salad and 1 banh mi baguette, one bone marrow hot stone pho, and an order of pork and shrimp eggroll (4 count) I'll start with the good. The eggrolls were very good. Loved the flavors, the crisp, the portion. $6. Bone marrow stone pot pho. The pho presentation was novelty. It reminded me of a fondue or hot pot. However, if you don't dip all of your meat in from the beginning, the pot loses heat very rapidly and you will be left with rare meat to enjoy. Although, the staff reheated out pot when requested. The broth was unremarkable. The noodles were perfect. The manager mentioned they ordered freshly made/highest quality noodles from California. $30 Last, the Bo Ne skillet smelled so good but was delivered to us at a lukewarm temperature. It did not sizzle or even steam. On the plus side, The bread that came with this entree was so good. It was baked upon order. The pork meatball was my favorite, there's a lot of potential here, if only warmer... 19.50 The portion sizes are adequate and price isn't too bad. *It does seem steep for the stone pot pho, however, there are a lot of components and could be good for diners who like their meat less cooked. I wonder if the pho wasn't split amongst three and eaten singularly, if it would've been a Better experience. Overall, our spread cost $60 with an additional loaf of bread. Split amongst 3 was $20 each. I'll give them some time to figure out some logistics and kinks before returning. read more

The One Pho is an upscale take on pho with a gorgeous space and quick attentive staff. There's plenty on the menu that gives off the vibes of your normal Vietnamese restaurant with things like bun and pho in regular bowls, you're probably not coming here for those. You're here for what is unique that you can't get anywhere else in Austin and while it's expensive for what it is, got to carve yourself a niche somehow. Came here for mother's day and my wife wanted to celebrate with some Wagyu Stone Bowl pho. She really likes pho and we agreed the broth here is clean and a little sweet. Despite being in the stone bowl, which while does retain its heat well, still requires you to throw the raw meat in at the beginning to cook it in a reasonable amount of time (for pho at least). The One Pho is generous with the meat, but the brisket and flank is par cooked prior to arriving to the table and while we agreed the wagyu meat was really good flavor wise, it's not super marbled cause wagyu eye round? is still eye round. I tried House Favorite Combo Bo Ne, which is basically make your own banh mi on a sizzling cast iron skillet. Lots of meat, two sunny side up eggs and everything brings something interesting to the party. The baguette they give you is crusty, hot and fluffy and was delectable. Of the meats, we liked the beef best, followed by the pork meatball and then the ham. The pate was a bit too funky for us but that's what I expect. All of these were super flavorful and offered good textural contrast. The veggies offer a good palate cleanse. All that said, it's good but definitely overpriced. If you really like pho, it's worth a one time experience but I would probably stick to their regular items otherwise. read more

Definitely satisfied my craving for pho!! We ordered the wagyu pho via doordash and it was delicious. The broth was very flavorful and the portions were huge. Although the wagyu pho was more expensive, the amount of beef they gave us was worth it. I think i could have easily shared it with my partner. Also the sugar cane juice was good as well. read more

Never coming back. Tried this a year ago and wasn't impressed but came back today bc I needed a quick hot lunch. I figured they've had time to work out the kinks, but no. Pretty much got our entire order wrong. We got a smoked brisket pho and a chicken (dark meat) pho, both with no cilantro. The waitress repeated the order back to us and everything was correct. It took almost 30 min for the food to come out. Real pho places can bring them out in 5. The food first came out with a bunch of cilantro. When we said we ordered no cilantro, the server took it back and then came out 2 min later saying "no cilantro". Except all he has done was pick out the 2 largest pieces. There were lots of cilantro still floating in there and it reeked of the horrible cilantro smell. The chicken pho came out with white meat, not dark like we asked. This was the most overcooked and dry chicken I've had for pho. It was stringy and super tough to chew There will be no 3rd visit from us. read more

I thought $28 for a bowl of Pho is was steep but the clay put pho delivered. It really kept the broth piping hot. So hot I burned my tongue for days haha. It comes with the wagyu meat, it really was an experience beyond your typical pho. The meat is best cooked when you are ready to enjoy it. We weren't told that we should cook it as we go so we had put it all in the broth which resulted in some of the pieces being over cooked. Next time e will be more prepared. The bone marrow pho is my favorite because they give you huge bones along with some bread and pate. Their pho broth is incredibly flavorful and has a really strong clove-flavor. I tried this after I saw some influencer post to their story about the best pho places in Austin. I likely won't go back. Service: They are SEVERELY understaffed and have a kitchen that is not made for the number of tables they seat. Went on Sunday for a late lunch. Waited 15 minutes to just get on the list. Multiple tables stayed dirty while people waited because they didn't have the staff. Once seated, we had our order ready because we weren't sure when we would have someone attention again. It took about another 15 minutes for us to get our iced tea. Food: The only thing that stood out was the offering of "wagyu" pho options. The broth was pretty good and they do give a lot of meat. I ordered the S-4 (wagyu, beef rib, etc.). It was served in a stone bowl that overflowed if you added too much to it. We ordered the eggrolls - which, sadly, were not Vietnamese eggrolls and were just okay - and fried okra (which was surprising). I was thinking we would get some Vietnamese spin on fried okra...No. It was just frozen, breaded okra. It was strange. The soy sauce was on the table and in a bottle called Knorr Liquid Seasoning. Bleh. It tasted NOTHING like soy sauce and more like molasses. Lastly, we got pork banh mi's to go. They gave us instructions for heating them up. These were good but, again, nothing special. All-in-all, it was just okay. Not something that, in my opinion, is worth me going through all of this to try again when there are so many great Vietnamese restaurants in Austin. read more

Oh my, this is my new favourite photo place! Recently opened, this takes pho to a new level! I went with my mom and we got the hot stone pho which they bring out a bowl of hot soup and you put each of the toppings in. Be sure to cook the meat first while the soup is at the highest tempe. Definitely give this a try, it won't disappoint! Service was fast and friendly. Love the vibes! A bit pricey at $20 for a bowl, but it's definitely different and the portions are huge so I can't complain! My mom and I split one bowl and we could barely finish it even then. Ended up coming here for lunch today while I waited for Costco to complete my tire replacement request, and I'm glad I did! I've eyed this place a few times already whenever we come to the Costco on this side of town, and was very content with the service and the food quality. I ordered the Rare Beef and Meatball pho bowl and this place by far has one of the most generous portion sizes for pho I've experienced in Austin thus far, and this was only the regular size!! I mean I probably got like 10 slices of rare beef and 4 huge meatballs (other places usually only give me two meat balls, maybe 3 if I'm lucky lol). You know the protein amount is generous when I finish the noodles before the meat has been completely eaten haha! Everything tasted fresh and the broth was flavorful, yet not salty. I also enjoyed the longer strands of green onion which I usually don't see at other pho restaurants. I'll definitely be back to try out their hot stone pho bowls (didn't even know they offered this) or even one of their Vietnamese rice bowls in the near future! I tried their pho during the soft opening, so I definitely took that into consideration for this review. I do think there is room to improve, but there are pros that should be highlighted as well with my experience. The broth could have been a little more flavorful, but I love the presentation and concept. It is a bit pricey, I think I would've been okay with ordering just their regular pho. The noodles were so good! Reminded me of the noodles I had when traveling to Vietnam. The flavor of their Bo Ne was perfect! Would've been better if it came out hotter and sizzling, to match with the name of the dish :) but definitely try their Bo Ne! Their bread is made in house and was so so soft!! Loved it so much. Went here while in north Austin visiting my sister, nice large restaurant with tons of seating, great for groups! The service was very friendly and food came out really fast. I had the short ribs, the portions were huge and the food was amazing. This was probably the most perfectly cooked rice I'd ever had, I ended up taking it home and eating it again that night. My sister ordered the lemongrass beef and I was a little jealous once I got a taste of hers. I will definitely be ordering the lemongrass beef or chicken next time I go! We also ordered Vietnamese iced coffee, it was some of the best I've had, however I don't recommend having it late at night because I was very hyper after that! It's a friendly diner style atmosphere. The food is terrific, and the prices are the high-end of modest. I chose the bone marrow appetizer with sliced baguette and pâté instead of an entrée, and I have no regrets. My partner chose marinated sliced beef with rice. Both dishes were fabulous. I had never had sugarcane juice before, it's a lot less sweet than I thought it might be, and I think I would have that again. My partner had a iced Thai tea, and it looked really pretty. I don't recommend the hot tea because, like so many restaurants around, the water is brewed in a large container and sits around so it needs aeration or it tastes stale. Do you know how Korean short ribs, kalbi, are expensive and now costs around $27 at a Korean restaurant? Introducing Vietnamese short ribs at The One Pho for only $17! It tastes just as good for $10 less than a Korean restaurant. This is a good alternative. I also enjoyed their freshly squeezed sugar cane kumquat juice. Checked out the new Vietnamese "The One Pho" and it seems to us that they are still tweaking (or should be) their menu and recipes. I ordered the beef with lemongrass vermicelli bowl. Great presentation and lots of protein, but considering the price is a bit higher than most of our other favorite Vietnamese restaurants, at least you got a bit more. I enjoyed the meal but felt like the beef was so tender that it didn't have that slight beef 'chew' you get when stir frying. It was as if the meat was pounded into tenderness, but don't know how to describe it any other way. The other thing is that the meal left me with a very strong garlic after taste. Very strong for a couple of hours afterwards. I think they could make an adjustment there for sure. The noodles were nice and soft, no complaints there. We also ordered a Bahn mi (ham?) to split between us. The presentation, again, was great and we thought the insides were spot on, really good and tasty. But the bread ruined it for us. This was that soft "Subway" style bread and we really think Bahn Mi's should be only on french baguette style bread. We noticed some of the pho dishes on the menu and felt that the prices were higher than what you see at most local Vietnamese restaurants. We'd have to feel like the extra price would show up in the quality or quantity of what we order. We'll give it a few months and check back. So good and fresh! The Wagyu pho offered so much meat and came with fresh noodles, amazing! The Bo Ne was delicious ! I always order that if we see it on a menu since it's hard to come by.
