I love this place--the bartenders and staff are amazing. I went out to Tower one night for a concert, got very intoxicated, and accidentally left my wallet in an Uber on the way home. Unfortunately, the next person who was picked up in that same Uber took my wallet and stole the cash from it. The next morning, I realized my wallet was missing and contacted Uber, but the driver did not have it. Hoping for some luck, I posted on Facebook. Nicky reached out to me and said she had found a wallet that matched mine. She was incredibly kind--she even went to her closed workplace just to retrieve it and met me later that night to return it. I was honestly panicking, thinking I had lost everything, and her kindness meant so much to me. I also want to add that I am Mexican, and I believe the negative comments about this place are untrue. I've never had a bad experience here with the staff but recently they hired an unc and I was drinking, also have poor vision. There are 2 restroom areas, the restroom on the right near the bar is a single bathroom without locks, I've been walked in on before so someone with social awareness and etiquette, I wanted to be considerate and not barge in. I asked politely to old bouncer if he had any knowledge, (clearly not), if someone was inside. He said "what do you think it's fucking locked so no!!!"There were also many people in that area blocking the view. To which I replied, "oh I see now I'm sorry I couldn't see, to which he replied, "don't be dumb get out of my space!" I said back to him that he was being very rude. I've had bad experiences over the past year waiting for drinks at this place, tonight I waited for 4 songs and told the new girl how I've been waiting and she had an attitude and went to the owner and then the owner had an attitude with me, they say the fish stinks from the head first, and I believe it. Bars should be inviting but it rarely has been here, I've always had to wait and wait to order a drink and that's fine but then they take orders from people walking up to the bar, I've never had any issues at a bar but this place was the 1st. I only come here for karaoke dj Josh, the service is and has been absolutely terrible the last year and half and I don't expect that to change anytime soon. 1 star at best. Racist Bartender. I had a really disappointing experience at this bar. I didn't catch the bartender's name, but she was an older, maybe in her 50's, woman wearing an American hat. My friends and I were patient and polite while waiting for service, so we were confused when she greeted us with such a rude and dismissive attitude. At first, I tried to brush it off, thinking maybe she was just having a stressful night. But then I noticed how her tone completely changed with the customers standing next to us? My friends and I jaws dropped when we noticed she was friendly and upbeat with them, which made the difference in how she treated us feel even more uncomfortable. It left us wondering if it had something to do with our race, because that's truly how it came across after watching her treat others at the bar. OHHHHHHH YEEEEEEEEAH BABY! I picked this bar at random while in this specific area of commiefornia for business/work purposes. It was a good choice I tell ya what, everything was pretty clean and I didnt think anything was over priced which is insane for commiefornia. But what made it all worth it was this Cory dude who was tending the bar, he was funny, fun and never let me sit for very long at all with an empty drink. Nice little place in Old Town Clovis. It's a few doors down from Bobby Salazar's, in the same block. There is a parking lot in the back... you can enter from 5th Street. Currently, our Governor says we can only go to a bar that has outdoor seating and that serves food. Viola! Old Town Saloon has that covered! The covered patio is open in the back. You need to order some food with your drinks and for that you can call the phone number posted and order from the full menu at Bobby Salazar's. They will take your order and bring your food right to your table at Old Town Saloon! The food gets added to your bar tab, so you just settle up with your server at the bar. Speaking of servers, ours was amazing when we were there last night. Aimee was super friendly and very attentive. She suggested drinks for us and they were really good. I am quite sure that this bar continues to attract a questionable nighttime crowd. This view was affirmed by our bartender on our most recent visit. For the first time ever, the bartender said she had had a beer bottle thrown at her on a nighttime shift. However, my partner & I came here for a few early evening drinks. Social distancing was in place & there was a sneeze guard between the bartender and customers. It was a beautiful evening & I had taken my drink to the patio but was politely informed that Clovis PD do not allow drinks on the patio until it is closed off at nighttime and has security to supervise it. I do really wish they had an enclosed supervised daytime patio but I know it's not cost effective when the number of customers is about 6 total. This said, they had the doors open for ventilation, the bartender was friendly and talkative, & the drinks were reasonably priced. At night time, this place becomes a different beast. One you may never want to know. But in the early evening day light hours, it can be a pleasant dive bar experience. read more

Came here because a friend recommended this "great" establishment and the bartender proceeded to snap my license claiming that it was fake even though I provided a military CAC card to prove on top of my license that I was 24.... years old. Then proceeded to try to claim my military identification card gave to me by the United States navy was "fake". So there I was drinking a beer! I finished my beer and waited for the bartender for about 7-10 min for my next beer. The younger bartender maybe 25 yrs old with a full beard saw me. Made eye contact so I decided to raise my hand like " hey, I need a refill". He saw me and turned away! Mind you theres about 10 people at the bar which showed he really was not busy. He looked away, walked away and did not come in my direction. Did not serve anyone else indicating he was not busy. So I walked to the other side where the older bartender was working. The older bartender served me beer within a minute and was friendly. Approximately one hour later, I had consumed three beers. I was seated in the same place talking to some people, not bothering anyone and obviously not drunk. I asked the same young bartender for a beer and his response was, no more beers for you. He stated he was told I could not drink anymore. Mind you I only had three beers, did not argue/cause drama at the bar but for some reason he would not serve me anymore! He would not give me an answer as to why!!!!!!! I hoping the color of my skin was not an issue, but I could not come up with any other explanation because I did not do anything to piss them off and was not even close to being too drunk. The worst experience ever! Went in on a Sunday for a birthday party celebration. We were immediately whistled at like a dog and fingers snapped to go to the front to show IDs. As we were waiting to approach the bartender with a crowd waiting our turn they yelled I need to see your ID yelling and mocking doing sign language with his hands. I know sign language and he was just moving his fingers making us feel stupid yelling and talking at us like we were stupid. Was the most rudest service I had ever had. This place is a joke. Started out nice, but then went to get the bartenders attention so that I could pay, she proceeded to yell at me for it. So when I said she was rude to my friend, she overheard and picked a fight with me, so I said she was rude again. A female bouncer then comes over and threatens me and takes me outside. They refused to let me get my sweater and I barely got my card back. These people are unprofessional, if your staff treats a customer that way, it's not the customer that should be reaping the consequences. And from what I've seen on these reviews, I'm definitely not the first one to have a horrible experience with bad service and get escorted out for no good reason and without explanation. I've been to old town several times and I TRY to find the merrits of this place and I just can't. Each and every time I've been to Old Town, it's been over crowded, the drinks are weak for the price, and the service has not been even remotely friendly from the door guy to the bartender. The DJ is decent, but the dance floor is small. The crowd is young and down to earth (and generally very nice). This weekend, we went to old town with a group of 15 girls and the door guy said he was not allowed to cut a deal for the cover charge on large groups. I asked for the manager and he refused. The cover was $5 no matter what aparently... Not very smart.... we would have gotten a deal in Vegas, this is Clovis, let's be real..... The bartender tried kicking me out because I was wearing a white t shirt, no logos just a literal plain white t. He said we have a no white shirt policy you have to leave, and next to me was a Caucasian man wearing an identical t shirt. When I pointed out that the man next to me was wearing one he said it didn't apply to him cause he's a regular customer there but I felt extremely discriminated against, being THE ONLY mixed person in the bar.
