Went here on a recent trip to Columbus. The food was fantastic. I had the sandwich with roast beef and chicken salad (perhaps called the mohawk?) which was so interesting and delicious. I got the half soup half sandwich combo with the French onion soup. The soup was sooooo good, very deep rich flavor. Service was pretty good but maybe a tad slow which was understandable on a very busy Friday night. The ambiance wasn't the best. My friends and I were sort of shoved into a corner at the front of the restaurant that had seats that were pretty difficult to get into and out of. But overall we would probably return.

Place was very clean, bathrooms and I could see into prep areas for food and looked amazing well taken care off Had the mushroom and bacon burger and it was okay. I'm not a big thick burger guy. Wife and daughter split a blacken cajun chicken pasta and they liked it. I'd come back.

I think the most authentic Old Mohawk experience is sitting inside of the wood-themed, large barred restaurant. But for this Sunday brunch, I sat outside and enjoyed the sun and (relative) seclusion of their sidewalk patio. Yes, couples, children and pets made their way past us on the other side of the gated off patio, but it was hardly a distraction from the sunlight and good vibes in this chill German Village block. The Lasagna with Chorizo was a good choice. Adding a side house salad was an equally good choice. Having a draft Paloma may have been a better choice. They're also known for their meatloaf, and I'm definitely interested to try it.

Great spot in German Village! Fast, kind service in a casual atmosphere and a nice little outside patio too! Taco salad was delicious! And so is the French onion soup! Pop into Helen Winnamores after right across the street! We are fans and will be back soon!

What a great little pub/restaurant! Has a true old time feel to it, situated in German Village. The staff was outstanding! We were quickly seated. It wasn't very busy, so we were able to choose a seat.we were quickly brought water and menu's. We ordered the crab tater tots as an appetizer, friggin' delicious! They come with a sweet and spicy dipping sauce. I would order three of these the next time as a meal itself! I ordered the half sandwich and soup. I had the Mother Mohawk sandwich because it sounded interesting- Grilled roast beef and chicken salad covered with Swiss cheese on rye. So gooood, I'd definitely order it again. My soup was the turtle soup. I've heard so many people talk about it. Again, absolutely delicious! Just try it! Well worth the visit! My wife had the lunch special which was a Pesto Chicken sandwich with fries. I got to try it, a feat mix of flavors! The chicken breast was so moist and tender. Covered in pesto, tomato and onion on a brioche bun. We'll definitely be going back! Great job to all of the employees! Parking is limited, so you may have to walk a little, but that's how it is for most places in that area.

Cute place. Even on a Monday night they were quite busy. Service was good. Food just ok.i ordered a Reuben. The bread was rye and soggy. The corned beef not very flavorful. Generous amount of tasty sauerkraut. Sauce served on the side which is a positive. Not too flavorful which is a negative. I have been before and had the very delicious veggie wrap which I should have gotten this time.

I LOVE the Old Mohawk. Great atmosphere and it was the perfect place to go for a glass of wine and warm meal with a friend on a very rainy night! The homemade meatloaf was delicious with the green beans and mashed potatoes... however I will say I think the sauce / gravy that is on the meatloaf did not sit well and made me very sick the next morning. I pinpointed the cause of the sickness to really only be something I consumed at dinner that night and I put my money on the gravy... I have a sensitive stomach and it just did not agree with it I guess! The food was excellent and I do not believe I got food poisoning... just a little be careful to anyone else who might have a sensitive stomach - perhaps skip the gravy on the meatloaf and enjoy it as is!

Outstanding lil' bar and gastropub in German Village... Stopped by TOM on a Saturday for lunch... It's a friendly, kitchy, neighborhood joint. TOM's got cool old school vibes with excellent service (our server Heather was great) and good food at a fair/reasonable price. This lil' place is certainly worth a stop when coming to German Village.

Stopped in for a late lunch with friends. As always, the place is warm and cozy and welcoming. I had the tomato bisque and half club sandwich. One soup was well spiced (not spicy) and delicious and the club is dependably good. Service was excellent - attentive and prompt.

I got together with a childhood friend that I have not seen in fifteen years for lunch at the Mohawk Restaurant. It was nice to hear that he was doing well in his profession and marriage. He has one child and a Golden Retriever named Rex. He chose the Mohawk Restaurant because we often came here forbrews while living off campus. The restaurant dates back to the 1920's and is reflected in the ambiance. Brick walls, dark wood flooring, historic photos on the wall and an antique bar. As for the food, I ordered the Mother Mohawk (grilled roast beef, homemade chicken salad with swiss cheese on marbled bread). They offer a unique mustard with caraway horseradish sauce) $13.95. It paired well with a local brew they called CBC Bodhi $5.75. One brew often follows another. The service was sufficiently speedy considering the number of tables inside and outside she needed to attend to. She appreciated the tip. My childhood friend ordered the Bratwurst sandwich also $13.95. There is only street parking in the German Village.

Mohawk is one of my go to's in German Village. It has a classic, homey feel. Not many frills but great prices, great service, and pretty good food all things considered. Below are the things I liked and didn't like so much on my most recent visit. Things I liked: * affordable prices * nice portions * veggie chili had a bit of a peppery-ness and a kick to it * fried pickles were not too salty * great service * lots of seating * great bread (we had the Mother Mohawk and Turkey Reuben) Things I didn't like: * Cauliflower wings were not available but were still listed on the menu (our server indicated they would not be available for some time so keep that in mind if you're planning a visit soon) * our table was a bit wobbly * parking can be tricky at peak times, but luckily we found a spot nearby

Came here for a "late" dinner around 9PM on a Thursday, as most places in Columbus seem to close at 9PM. It was pretty empty but had a very homey, old school vibe. Our waitress/hostess greeted us and got us seated quickly. Food wise, I ordered the soup and sandwich combo and we got fried pickles to start. We wanted the fried cauliflower but they've been out for months apparently. The pickles came out hot and weren't overly pickley and well battered and crisp. I actually enjoyed it with the ranch. I got the mother mohawk and french onion soup as my main and again, I found both to be very enjoyable. I wish the bread in the soup wasn't soaked through so I could have some textural contrast but the melty cheese on top helped. The bread on the sandwich was great and toasted and the chicken salad-reuben combo was interesting and delicious. Overall, it was a cute neighborhood eatery and very affordable!

Ordered at the bar. The bartender was great. Laid-back, helpful. They had birria tacos as a special, which sounded really good, but I went with the bacon jam burger that everybody talks about. And it is an excellent burger. Great bun; great burger, thick and meaty. Gouda cheese, lettuce, and onions and tomato. And the bacon jam, which was more subtle than I expected. A nice layer on there, adding some sweetness and saltiness, but not overwhelming. Blended well with everything else. There are several other appealing burgers on the menu, and I am interested in what their specials are since this one looked good, so I'm sure I'll be back.

We got the giant meatballs from South Village and 3 different types of sushi from next door. Quite the spread but all of it was good!! I come a lot here - for months I used to come every Sunday night get the wings and hummus. Whatever the old wing sauce was - it was sooo good. They have now switched to buffalo and to be honest other places make it better. Still try the hummus. It's delicious. So is the incredible meatball. Drinks here have always been really good. Quality. Pizza really goood - get the Hot Honey pepperoni. They also used to have one of the best calamari plates in the city - and I have Italian parents who ALWAYS order Calamari. So if you ever see it - get it. Small tv in the corner by the bar - enough to be seen, small enough not to kill the vibe but definitely don't come if your goal is to watch a game. This past time I went I had the Braised short rib, with a Martini and the cookie with ice cream for dessert. Fairly large menu for a bar. I thought about burgers and other things, but I ended up with the southern dog. A good dog, good bun, with excellent pulled pork on top, good sauce, greens, relish. And I of course had to get cheese curds because I love them. They were very good too. Small, crispy, nice and melted inside. Came with a good, creamy sauce with a tiny bit of heat. Those added up to enough food for me, because I wasn't very hungry. Definitely on a normal day for me I probably would've also gotten a burger, or some other side. For a lunch, or a late evening meal, curds and a dog were perfect. And tasted excellent. Not busy on a Thursday at 6, just steady. Service was good, upstairs and down. Drinks are at the bar, or they have some canned pop upstairs. I really enjoyed my experience. The only negatives? The soothing sounds of axes, thunking against the walls right beside your table. My wife and I started dinner at 5:45 and didn't leave until 8:45 and it was a lovely evening. We chatted for hours, sampled some absolutely delicious food, and just generally relaxed. We had a lovely server, but to say it was just a single person would do the staff injustice. I feel like every single employee in the place waited on us. All of the staff were knowledgable and gave off pretty cool, chill vibes. Three hours is a long meal, but the pacing was superb. Courses didn't come out like beats on a metronome. Rather, the pacing was changed to meet the waxing and waning excitement for the next plate of an absolutely enormous amount of food. The appetizers came in at a measured pace, the mains slowed, and then deserts were served rapid fire. Between courses, staff might stop by for a quit chat before moving on to the next pressing matter. Lots of staff offered their thoughts on their favorite dishes or suggestions on how a plate my be best enjoyed. The whole experience lacked any pressure or pretense. There were fine dining touches such as replacement of my wife's napkin after she stepped away for a break, but it felt more like eating at a cool friends house than it did eating in the ballroom of a palace. Do you know what I mean? You aren't going to Agni for opulence. You are going for a cool exciting food adventure that you aren't going to get many places and certainly very few in Columbus. We had the Midwest Tasting Menu. 11 courses? Something like that. It was expensive, but I don't even mind it. We loved the "Health Sodas" that were curated by the bartenders. My wife had a coconut, lime, and guava concoction and I had some else that was sweet and fruity and tart. The first few bites of pani puri with spiced ginger and then the "happy meal" and salad course really set the tone of a kitchen that puts out excellent dishes with balanced flavors. For me, the best bite of the night was the Thai noodle salad. It was just a perfect amount of spicy with lots of textures. Mine was served with tofu since I'm not a seafood lover and it was the best tofu preparation I've ever had. My wife's favorite was the "soup and salad" course which is hard to describe, but I agree that it was delicious. The low point of the evening's food for me was in the seafood course. My wife loved her actual seafood, but my vegetarian replacement was a miss. They served it with a piece of baby eggplant that was nearly raw; crunchy and practically inedible. I will forgive them, but I think that one needs to be rethought. The end of the meal had lots of little fun touches. The bill comes in a giant lego minifigure head. The restaurant provides a souvenir menu that lists all the dishes that were tried. There were some curated, store-bought candies for take away. All-in-all, it was just an excellent experience. Do yourself a favor and try it, but go hungry and maybe don't try to eat every bite of every dish so that you aren't hurting by the end of the night.

I was surprised with a birthday dinner at the most brilliant Agni! He chose the "Midwest Nostalgia"…read more12-course tasting menu which is so creative and modern, fusing midwestern favorites and Avishar's signature "fast food" with all sorts of global flavors. First, we need to tell Avishar we are SO thrilled that his restauraunt graces our city! It's so special. It's a destination. It's unrivaled in its cleverness. I've had a handful of meals over the past 25 years that have burned indelible food memories into my brain... lamb tagine in Marseille; a Cretan feast in Istanbul; and now Joya's insane seafood jahl in Columbus. We've been to Agni before, but the current menu is so worldly with a few flavors new to us, yet familiar with the Midwestern vernacular built into each of the 12 courses! And let's be clear, it was more like 15 or 16 courses, given that some of the dishes had three or four components. Dan and I always try to sniff out fusion food when we travel, but we can't think of any place we've been to that is this broad in the interpretation and combination of cuisines and flavors. Simply fabulous! The cocktails are unique and the somm's wine suggestions of cava and a beautiful pouilly fumé were the perfect compliments. The service is top-notch and the ambiance is totally cool. Agni is an incredibly special place that Columbus is lucky to have. The atmosphere is We love how he cooks with his heart, soul, travels, and shared experiences. What a treat!!!
