My bf ordered the cheese steak sandwich... I regret going here based on his experience. His sandwich was really odd. Lacking in cheese-steakness. The meat and cheese were dripping in grease and onions were WAY too charred (you can also see this in the photo). He finished maybe 65% and called it quits. My bf will eat anything, and I was really surprised that he couldn't even finish it. His stomach was bothering him the whole rest of the day. Overall this place didn't meet expectations. We were in Long Beach for a cruise. The hotel we were staying in recommended we go to the hanger since there were lots of choices for dinner. After looking around at all our options at the hanger we decided to eat here at The Kroft. There is a nice eating area outside and the weather was perfect! The hanger was a very busy place. It is a fast food restaurant. You walk up and place your order. The menu is simple but has a variety to choose from. The customer service was good. We opted for: the Beef Melt $12.95; Chili Mac N Cheese $5.45; and Wagyu Smash Burger Combo with Fries $17??? Not sure of the price. Everything was really delicious and served very quick! Super solid burgers! I got the wagyu smash burger for a mukbang video I was doing and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I did however eat it when I got home so it wasn't too hot which skews my experience but I can definitely take the quality coming from the meat for a smash burger. Their service is pretty quick and the portions for their poutine and some of their sandwiches are fairly generous. One box of poutine usually fills me up. It can be quite busy as this is a pretty popular spot and there's a bunch of other food stalls in the building. Located in the The Hanger at LBX, the Kroft serves up a great version of poutine...hearty, large, and very satisfying. My wife and I were in the Hangar food hall to check out a different restaurant, and needed to find something my wife would enjoy. I hadn't done much pre-reading, so didn't really know what to expect (I had a vague thought that a Filipino-inspired restaurant was here, but must have gotten it confused with a different food hall). So I was walking around, looking at menus, until I came the Kroft's, serving 'Loaded Fries". We had visited Vancouver earlier this year, and had found some great variations of Canada's 'National Dish'. The common ingredients in a poutine are the french fries, brown gravy, and cheese curds. Prices were very reasonable, and had some interesting variations. I ended up choosing the Braised Beef ($13.95). After paying, I was asked for a cell number which would get paged once the poutine was ready for pick-up. They make it fresh, so took about 10 minutes....they saw me waiting, so just called me over as soon as it was ready...nice personalized service. The poutine was really good. The french fries were 'chip' style (thicker than shoestring but thinner than steak), and there was plenty of it. The beef was the kind in pot roast, very tender. It also had a lot of cooked, fresh mushrooms, and pickled red onions (which I like separate but not as part of this dish). The brown gravy was different than what you would make from a jar or from a seasoning packet, more like what the drippings from preparing the pot roast would yield (for me, the more typical brown gravy would have been better in this dish). It was easily enough for the the two of us (we didn't want to take any home since it's not really a dish the reheats well). There were other variations I would like to try as well. For me now, if family or friends want poutine, we know where to go. read more

We got the Loco Moco poutine fries and they were a lot bigger than I expected. I loved that it had a lot of gravy to coat the fries. I was also surprised that the meat wasn't dried. Im in this area often and I love the Hangar because there are so many food options. I decided to try something new this time around, The Kroft, which is located in the left corner of the Hangar if you enter from the front. They have a pretty decent menu ranging from burgers and sandwiches to poutines and specials. There's also a wide selection of drinks, both alcoholic and nonalcoholic. I know they specialize in poutine here but their burgers looked too good to pass up! I got the double wagyu cheeseburger and made it a combo with garlic aioli sauce on the side for the fries. I was disappointed when I got home to find that they forgot to give me the garlic aioli . Nonetheless, the food did not disappoint. The wagyu burger was amazingly cheesy and beefy! I have been going to the Kroft 3-4 times a week for my lunch breaks the past couple of months. The food is delicious. I have introduced many of my coworkers to this place and we have ordered just about everything on the menu and each item so far has been really good. From the chicken Parmesan to the Yuzu fish sandwhich (fri/sat/sun only) to the amazing sides (we are addicted to the Brussels sprouts/birria eggrolls/cheese curds). Love the Kroft!!! We usually go to the Anaheim location, until I found this location in LB, which is closer to us. We've been here 2 weekends in a row and I always order the same items. I love their porchetta sandwich. I order it with garlic fries and those 2 items are my favorite so far. They do not skimp on the prochetta. There would be pieces spilled out of the sandwich to scrape up and eat after finishing the sandwich. Yum!!! My husband got the spicy smashburger and enjoyed it. When I go to the LBX Hangar/FoodHall, The Kroft is the spot I most frequently visit. The vibe is family friendly. Their menu just hits on that savory, satisfying level every time. My latest visit on 11/28 was no different. I headed to Kroft and ordered one of their Spicy Jack Smashburgers. The smashburgers are new to their menu, and come in three varieties--Original, Spicy Jack, and Pulled Pork. I have had the Original, I still need to try the Pulled Pork version. All come with two wagyu beef patties perfectly cooked. The Spicy Jack has a great spicy sauce, two slices of spicy jack cheese, bacon, and grilled mushrooms, just a great blend of savory and heat in every bite( cost around $15). This time was just as great as before. I should also note that the service there is great, I've always been helped quickly and pleasantly from all the staff, always offered a water cup, whether or not I've ordered a drink with my sandwich. I also recommend trying the French Dip sandwich with the au jus dipping sauce. And the cheeseburger egg rolls are addicting! I get the 3 pc order cuz after having 2, you want just one more. I got the double wagyu smash burger and the fried cheese sticks. Total was around $20. The buyer was really good. It was juicy and tasty. I don't usually like pickle but it tasted pretty good with pickle on it. The only thing I didn't like was the bun was too small to hold this big tasty burger patty and the bottom bun was kind of soggy with the sauce. The cheese sticks were tasty. Friendly service. This is my third time to THE KROFT. I went along with friends to watch the Dodger game in the Bar area. At the end of the evening I suggested we eat here. The staff was remardkable, but unfortunately they were rushed and I was given the wrong order. When arriving home they had already closed. The next day I called and reported the mishap. The worker was apologetic and took down my information. Unexpectedly i received a call from the Mgr Eric who very professionally apologized and reaffirmed their appreciation towards my satisfaction on next visit. Wow!! Have been following this place for quite some time on instagram and finally made the time to visit. The freshly made food on their social media was so enticing! Location is the hangar which is very nice. Now for the food: Yuzu fish sandwich 6/10 I have been craving this sandwich for the longest time and unfortunately it did not live up to its expectation. I think the best part of the sandwich was the yuzu sauce, which I will say was an absolute 10/10. BUT the fish was so small compared to as advertised, almost like a filet o fish from McDonalds. And it had no flavor! The yuzu sauce really carried this sandwich. Fish didn't seem to have any seasoning. I will say it was crispy and hot when it came out however. Philly cheesesteak 6/10 Looks like a mess but don't all Philly steaks? Usually the best tasting ones look like this. Unfortunately it also lacked flavor, almost like it has no seasoning as well! We came and took it to go but I don't take points off for not holding up since that was our choice and we live less than 10 min away. Either way on a side note most of it held up very well! My husband ordered the new double smash burger so I got to steal a bite and to be fair it was probably the fav of all the items for both of us. Great crispy bits on a typical smash burger and the thick pickles was a nice touch. The house sauce is familiar to so cal burger people and was delicious like the other place . Amazing tender braised beef. Not Italian beef but almost more of a shredded roast beef. On a great toasted roll with a melty mild jack cheese and a nice pickled red onion. It came with arugula as well which I don't remember being in the description but I love it so I don't mind, just something to keep in mind if you don't love it. The beef and cheese are hearty and rich so the picked onions provided a perfect sweet and tangy bite that the sandwich needed. I was originally planning on the porchetta since rare to find but i saw it wasn't a true porchetta but a reimagined version for a sandwich. Either way I would try that next time, but this beef option, was recommended by the staff so I gave it a try and I wasn't disappointed. Filled the void if you are craving a hearty beef sub. I think the do a poutine versions with same flavors that I bet would be amazing. Speaking of poutine... We both love a poutine so we decided to share one. To be fair it was a meal on its own, hardly a side, but we decide to splurge and also...why not?! We got the friend chicken one with an amazing peppery country crazy and friend chicken with the classic curds and fries. It was great and imagine eating immediately it would have been even better (but no points deducted). We would get poutine again for sure but would try the loco moco version next time for some variety. As for parking and location. This is in the LBX/the hangar a pretty cool place in LB. It has a bunch of places so everyone can find something they want, an urban food court of sort, like a mall food court with booze, it is amazing. You want poke great, I want a taco and she wants a burger..done and done! We love it but it can be busy, but lots of seating options inside and more outside and very open air social cool place to chill. We don't have kids but seems like a great place for them to run around and get exhausted which seems like common goal for all people kids. This was a Sunday at 12:30 and parking was crowded, but we could have easily sat and ate in person if we wanted but decided to go home to eat where the booze is a bit cheaper. On a side note for the area...Clark near airport has a small farmers market on every Sunday, and every 3rd Sunday at LBCC veterans stadium on Clark is the flea/antique market so we made it a fun few hours of exploring our amazing neighborhood.
