We went in on a Saturday late afternoon. There must have only been 2-3 people working because the poor waitress was running all over the place. We took it upon ourselves to sit down at a table (no one was seating). She came over pretty quick, but I believe only because we were sitting next to a bigger party. She took our drink order and it took about 20 minutes for them to come to the table. After that.... Well we waited and waited and waited. I tried flagging down the waitress, she even looked right at me but still didn't come over. *we saw other patrons helping take drinks to their tables and clear off their own dishes* During our wait more people showed up. And someone who we took as either the owner or the manager was walking around helping everyone but us. He was even having drinks and bites of food off of what we thought might be his friends or family table. After what seemed like an hour but probably another 20-30 minutes, we still hadn't ordered food (or even had the opportunity to pay for the drinks we had and run for the hills). But new people coming in for drinks, food and way more attention. I believe it must have been the utter unpleasant look on my face that made the "owner/manager" walk over and ask if we were doing ok. Once I said NO, and explained he promptly had the waitress come over. She took our food order (would have had to walk somewhere else and probably wait to even be seated at this point). The food came out rather quickly and my quesadilla was good, but my husbands nachos were greasy and the cheese was almost "plastic'ish". They did comp one round of drinks for our convenience. And I did give them 2 stars because my drink and quesadilla was delicious. I want to say that our waitress did apologize as well as the owner/manager, but seemed rather annoyed that we were even upset. read more

Had a lot of time to kill between a meeting in Allston and then Cambridge. Yelp actually listed the place as in between. One of the best suggestions from the app so far. The place is below ground level but signage is clear as day. Got a steak and cheese egg roll. It was sorta skimpy but it looked actually hand made and not the frozen app that gets tossed into a fryer so I'm not complaining just a heads up that it isn't a monster size thing but it was fresh. Kooky menu. Take the back yard cook out of burgers and dogs. Let that have one shot of whiskey to many and bam that's the menu. I got the breakfast hot dog. Not because it was the only thing sane on the menu but because it was the craziest thing I had heard of in ages. It was freaking awesome. Great tasting hot dog rolled in a egg scramble omelette thing with bacon bits and spicy sauce. Trust me it was epic and worth the extra blood pressure pill. Bartender (Courtney??) was a hot ticket. There was a range of patron types and she worked the group well. No one had to wait for a drink or refill or food The highlight was a young Russian sounding man asked "What's onion dip". Ever see someone explain something by using a he exact words in the menu and all of a sudden the goofy ball who asked a painful moment obvious question have the lights turn on and realize what that thing was ???? Yeah that happened. Classic. She was so polite but so factual he had to order it. Not sure when I will get back to eat here again but I will. Take a look at the picture of the breakfast dogs. GREAT little restaurant to go to near Fenway. The hot dogs were soooo good. My boyfriend and I got all of them (except the vegan dog) to try. The breakfast dog was surprisingly delicious. It's like a hot dog in an omelette. The BBQ dog had great flavor and the cole slaw was unreal. I'm sure if you don't like coleslaw they can make it without. The west coast dog was also really good with avocado and some great tasting sauce. The Kenmore dog really stole the show with the sautéed veggies on top. Went for $3.50 K-Burger after 10pm. It used to be $2.50 with the addition of cheese only an extra 50¢. The recently increased price also includes the extra cheese which is now $1.50! Small but fun little place located just outside the hustle and bustle of Fenway park. Wait staff was very attentive and the food came out really fast almost too fast. They just opened back up so you know I had to go!! Got to sit outside and enjoy the nice weather, I did not go inside so I can't comment on that. Honestly the best part about this place was our server he was so friendly and truly was happy to be working, makes such a huge difference. I'm surprised that they even have vegan burger and dog substitutes and gluten-free buns (tons of GF options actually). They have à la cart side dishes that you'd see in at a steak house. Craft and local beers. Long bar with TVs and plenty of high top seating (good for groups). Hospitality that goes a long way in what used to be the Lower Depths Tap Room. The kenmore has a very good deal for hot dogs and burgers past 10, which is why a group of my friends like to grab a late snack there. However, this last time we visited, the service was atrocious. One of the waiters was very snappy and seemed angry that we were there for the deal. While we were eating, she was back behind the bar and started angrily screaming that she'd been there all day, so loudly that everyone inside stopped to stare. On top of this, a different waiter kept coming up to our table to try to talk to us, interrupting our conversation and making us very uncomfortable. He just stood next to our table and kept asking us questions like where we were from, what school do we go to, etc while we were trying to eat. When he would not leave us alone, I interrupted him and asked for the bill. He then said "Wow, I thought you were cool, I'm gonna go back to the other side of the table" and then proceeds to try to talk to my friends while ignoring my request. When we did finally get the bill, I tipped 18% even though the service was horrible out of courtesy of the good deal that we got. He then had the audacity to approach my friend and say "I thought you guys were cool but your friend only tipped $2", which is just a straight up lie and absolutely inappropriate. The cherry on top of all of this is that these two waiters were slapping each others' asses in front of everyone inside while we were eating. The prices could not be any more unbeatable than at the Kenmore! You get what is equivalent to a sort of ShakeShack type burger (smaller burger) for $3-4 less than you would pay at ShakeShack and without the 'fast-food' ick attached to it. The K sauce is awesome and I have never gotten a meal from there that I did not enjoy. They also have a great selection of cocktails to choose from and the bartenders and waitstaff at the Kenmore are so nice and helpful- it is great to be able to see some of the same friendly faces around when I come in. read more
