The food was filled with a ton of flavor. I ordered the coconut curry shrimp which came with 2 sides depending on size that you order. Medium comes with 2 sides and a large comes with 3 sides. The sides I chose were the beans and rice and the fried dumpling. The beans and rice had a nice kick to it but not spicy at all. The curry shrimp was a great addition to the rice and gave it a ton of flavor. The service was amazing and the lady who helped me gave me a ton of information what were the top sellers. I came towards closing so majority of the good stuff were sold out but the curry shrimp was very good. I also got an upside down pineapple cake which was good. The base was soft and moist and the pineapple was solid. Not the best that I've had but still a very tasting one. The ambiance was filled with a ton of seating and you can feel a sense of culture in this restaurant. Definitely would come back and hopefully be able to try the jerk chicken. read more

Can't taste anything beyond the charred and burnt chicken. Mac and cheese had nothing going on other than that it was fresh and warm. Rice was just plain yellow rice. Absolutely fantastic. Just moved up here from the East Bay Area and have been looking for a go to spot. I found it here. Came in 20 minutes to closing on Valentine's Day with my boyfriend. They only had jerk chicken and curry chicken left. We got a large plate of each to share, a pineapple guava juice and also a chicken patty. She really hooked up the plates and was very kind to us even though it was almost closing. The food was hot and tasted super fresh. The curry was so flavorful and fell off the bone. My husband wanted to try something a little different and this seemed like a fun food experience. They are take out only due to COVID. The menu is limited in both options and quantity. When they sell out of food they close up shop. Which they did right after we ordered. We got so lucky because this food is incredible! We all got the jerk chicken but oxtail and a chicken stew were on the menu as well. Every main choice comes with all the sides of the day. We had Mac N cheese, rice and veggies. Great find! I have been driving by this place ever since I moved to the area and had been dying to try it. With family from the Caribbean, and a natural love for Caribbean foods... I had to try. What I will share off the bat is that the parking lot is on the west side of the building. I always got a view from Union St that made me wonder "how do I get in?" LOL Well, my slow self finally realized the entrance was simply on the other side. Plenty of parking and plenty of seating inside. It's small but welcoming and you can just tell walking in how fresh and authentic the flavor is about to be. The lady working at the counter was very thoughtful and courteous and provided her positive confirmation on my selections. Just to get a taste I went for the basics. Jerk Chicken and Coconut Rice. I'm not sure what seasonings they use there but it had just enough kick to pull off that party in your mouth feeling and enough flavor to make me wish I had gotten more. I appreciate the Jamaican sodas on hand as well and it just really felt like the food was made with real love. Stop in and enjoy! Where to start... I guess I'll start with Amazing! Everything we tried here was amazing. So much so that I didn't feel the need to adjust the flavors on anything with salt, pepper or hot sauce. These ladies can cook! We had jerk chicken, oxtails, rice and peas, Ital stew, veg and pineapple upside down cake. You could taste the love in every bite. I was looking forward to trying some of the patties as well, but they were already sold out for the day. I'll definitely have to come back earlier next time. Yes, I'll definitely be back. I wish I lived closer so I could eat here all the time . The smiling faces and delicious food make this a must try for anyone in the area. I've honestly not eaten a lot of authentic Jamaican food but have watched a lot of videos about the cuisine in that country and was absolutely blown away by everything I've eaten here. I was hungry, tired, a little sad. Walked into the Jerk Kitchen and got some jerky chicken, that came with a side of brown rice topped with red cabbage, and macaroni. I also got some green banana porridge. I will tell you that it was godly. It was succulent. It was delicious.
