The food was good but customer service was terrible. We basically got yelled at by a lady behind the counter because she couldn't hear us when we told her "for here", and thought we didn't answer her. I thought the business would be happy with more customers coming in during lunch time, but everyone behind the counter seemed frustrated and rude. They kept messing up people's order too. Almost forgot my pita bread and I had to ask for it. I would give a 4 star if it wasn't for the bad customer service. read more

The Halal Guys - This is my second time here. First time was opening day and they definitely gave us more food. This time not so much. - Halal Near Me - Chamblee, Georgia

Had their chicken plate and it was seasoned well, the salad was iceberg and tomatoes and rice was cold. The staff was very pleasant and the food was cheap, but it all pales when compared to Grecian Gyro. read more

Wow! I live about one-and-a-half miles from the place and was finally able to stop by today without the line stretching out the door. I must have ordered the wrong item (combo platter) which had three penny size pieces of lamb and chicken, a heap of rice and lettuce, and four pieces of pita bread, in which two of the pieces I used to complete a habitat-for-humanity project, because they were SO HARD. This was the worst than the Falcons losing the super bowl...need I say more... Gross, with a Capital G! read more

Omg one of my favorite food trucks from New York has made it to Atlanta as a store front. I drove by today and saw the name and thought to myself, "yeah right look at these guys trying to piggyback". Then I took a closer look at the logo and almost crashed tying to swerve into the parking lot. The quality is just like I remember in NY. Tasty, fast and spicy. I recommend the chicken and gyro combo plate, pack on the white sauce but use the smallest amount of red sauce, it's SUPER SPICY. It definitely beats having to wait out in the freezing cold in NY to get a plate but there's nothing like buying your food and walking over to Central Park or getting out of the club at 3am and getting a hot plate of this stuff. read more

3 1/2 So here's the thing... is this place as amazing as I thought it would be based on the hype? No. Do I still go all the time? Yes. Why you ask? Because it is quick. Reasonably priced. Hella good portions. And pretty friendly for those who have sugar-problems. This is just a regular fast food, Chiptole-style joint... where you park, walk in, go through a line picking and choosing what you want, and then pay. Not a difficult or especially incredible process. Usually, the staff behind the counter are really friendly and kind, sometimes they aren't. It is a mixed-bag. Most people I know go for the bowls - you can get large or regular size, both have great portions and ratios of meat to everything else, and then you can pick falafel, steak, chicken or steak and chicken as you bowl type. They load your bowl up with pretty good rice, lots of iceberg lettuce and tomatoes, TONS of meat, and then you get to be the master of your own fate and tell them how to dress your little bowl. You need to hear me clearly.... you got to tell them when to stop cause otherwise you will be drowning in white sauce. (Who hasn't been there, am I right?) The white sauce is good - I am assuming just some delicious mayo based concoction that Americans love, and the hot sauce it good too - but for my lil white girl taste buds, it's spicy, so I only get a few lines of it on the food. To top it all off, they throw some pita bread on top. Overall, it is a pretty easy, nothing special experience, and I guess it's because of that, that I keep coming back. It get's the job done. It tastes alright, and the prices aren't over the top. I have heard amazing things about Halal Guys before they came down to Atlanta, so I was so excited to try... even waited in line. Eh, it was disappointing. It's kinda like that cousin who went to Harvard and we all assumed that cousin become an international human rights lawyer or something, but instead, they just wanted to take over the family business at a hardware store. Not a bad life, certainly still honorable and worthy, but we all expected something else. Oh well. read more

first time trying halal guys, and i was not disappointed. The only thing i would say about this location, the food was not hot at all. But , it was still very good and store was very clean. read more

I came in tonight and ordered my usual 3 combo trays (judge me). I got so caught up in trying to get that red sauce that I forgot my wallet. Rae White and Felicia (the manager) were kind enough to hold onto it until I got there. I couldnt thank them enough. Made my day read more

Aside from me going on the Grand Opening day, I must say that the name does live up to the hype. The food is great. I had a Chicken and Falafel Regular Combo Platter. The Falafel was a tad bit bland but the chicken was delicious. The platter comes with lettuce, tomato, rice and pita bread. The white sauce is tasty. The hot sauce is definitely HOT. So keep that in mind. I highly recommend checking this place out. I imagine that it will be busy for a while as it just opened. read more

Having been to the food trucks in NYC numerous times, I was excited to be getting a franchise here in Atlanta. I wanted to go the day it opened, but let's be honest, who has the patience for that? I ordered the gyro platter, because it was easier to take to go. I usually order the gyro sandwich, which I'll have to go back to try. The platter however was a little disappointing. It had more lettuce than anything, and they definitely skimped on the white sauce. Which we all know is the best part. All in all, I'll give it a few more tries before giving up on it completely, after all Chamblee is a heck of a lot closer than NYC. read more

Food is so good, the sauce....yum! Service is great and they have a very generous rewards program. One of many spots ob Buford Hwy that I just can't drive by without stopping. read more

Really good chicken and gyro wrap! I get it with everything but black olives. The white sauce is really good.

We were excited to finally try this place but we were very under whelmed. My boyfriend got a beef gyro and a side of baba ganouj. When he asked if it came with pita bread, they said no, we had to pay extra, thought that was a little strange. Even the employee who was helping us thought it was weird. I got the falafel sandwich and fries. My boyfriends sandwich, side (and pita bread) and drink and my sandwich, side and drink was $30. A little pricey for fast food. As we were eating , I noticed a female worker fixing another female workers long hair...behind the counter..next to the meat. The final straw..there was hair in our fries. Safe to say, we left immediately, trying not to gag, Won't be back. read more

For a real NY'er I was dissapointed!! Price is wack! You need a code to use the bathroom I rather eat from there food truck in NYC!! read more

Welcome to the neighborhood The Halal Guys. A lot of hype for this place just opening. Was able to go for lunch on a week day so the line was only about 5 minutes. Got a chicken gyro since they were out of beef. Fresh meat and the white sauce that everyone talks about is a nice addition of flavor to gyro or platter. Would like to go back once things calm down. Parking is definitely an issue as well as limited seating. Especially if the weather is not good enough for outdoor seating. read more

The Halal Guys - Chicken Gyro being constructed - Halal Near Me - Chamblee, Georgia

I'm glad that the Halal Guys are finally here in ATL since it's another great option if you're just looking for something fast. The reviews here are dead on, the lines are long and servers are slow but hey, they are just getting started. Hopefully, once they get going, the operations should be smoother. The hummus is a good deal, for $2.99 you get a small container with 2 pitas but it wasn't that flavorful so I'll pass on that next time. I got the combo regular plate (gyro and chicken) and pretty much had it for two meals because of how big it was. Comes with rice, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, jalapenos, white sauce and hot sauce. TIP: The HOT sauce is REALLY hot and I can take heat, just be careful. Overall, good experience. The restaurant personnel walked around to ensure you didn't need anymore sauce and to throw your trash away for you which was pretty cool. read more

Gave The Halal Guys a try because of the hype and its NYC-based origins. I do believe it is overrated and does not live up to the expectations. Maybe it's better in NYC? Pros: Seems to hire an ethnic and diverse group of people, which is always a good thing. Cons: Not enough tables, eating feels rushed, and that white sauce is questionable. YThe food is a little bland, so you have to ask for a lot of sauce. For me, it needs some acid/citrus. Falafel was overcooked, gyro and chicken was just ok. Seriously, that white sauce is questionable. Why not regular tzaziki? It's 2017, no one pays for food just to drench ranch on it. Good to try, but won't be back. read more

Ordered a combo sandwich and it was great. Very flavorful and loaded with meat. Service was also great, will definitely be back.

*This review is based off 1 experience getting take out* Not surprisingly, there was a lot of hype leading up to the opening of this location of The Halal Guys. Gyros are the bomb dot come (yes, I just showed my age there) if done properly. I knew the lines would be insane during opening week and peak lunch hours, so I waited until about 2 weeks after and after 1 pm on a Tuesday to try them out. There is a private parking lot that has at least 8 spots that I could count. There's two different entrances to turn from (one on Chamblee Tucker that takes you around back and the other off Buford Hwy that takes you to the side/front). The entrance to the restaurant itself is over by the outdoor seating (the side door is for exiting only). My wait was pretty short (being a Tuesday at 1:45 pm). Nothing too much to say about the conditions of the restaurant or the staff. Both were fine. As mentioned by other Yelpers, there are two options: a platter or a sandwich. The platters come in small or large, and you can get beef, chicken, or a combo for either platter or sandwich. There is a surcharge for extra meat, as one might expect. I got the small platter (more than enough for one meal for me as it turned out) with beef. It came with rice, lettuce, tomatoes, and a few slices of pita. The food was... okay. I didn't love it, and I didn't hate it. I just don't like iceberg lettuce in general so that didn't do much for me in enhancing the plate. The beef was fine, but I expected a little more umph in flavor for this type of cuisine. The rice, tomatoes, and white sauce did complement the beef well. My favorite part of the meal though was the pita. The pita was warm and delicious. It made me wish I had opted to get the sandwich. Which is what I intend to do next time because I feel like this place at least deserves a second go around to impress me. Hopefully they will!! read more

I love this place! The food is delicious. I love their white sauce that comes with the orders. I got a falafel bowl (small) and it was a perfect portion size for me. I will definitely come here more often ! read more

I used to come to this halal guys because the owner was nice and have good parking spaces. After visiting halal guys today, I am probably gonna go to the midtown one. It was such a disappointment. I came here with some friends on a saturday afternoon. We waited for about 10 minutes and the line was out the door the whole time we were there. I ordered the combo platter with some white sauce and a lot of red sauce. The chicken and gyro meat, once showered in the two signature sauces, have great flavor. The rice was good and so was the pita bread on the side along with the salad. I liked the fact that one of the servers came around and offered extra sauce. I think the halal guys is a great healthy alternative option to other fast food restaurants. read more

The Halal Guys - Combo platter small - Halal Near Me - Chamblee, Georgia

Saying this place is average is being nice. This is food court chow. Nothing more. Dry meat, greasy pita bread, skimpy dressed Gyros, food service falafel & white sauce made from mayonnaise... gross. Loud & chaotic. CDC employees, step up your game, better options under foot. This IS NOT Mediterranean food... period. Mediterranean Grill on N.Decatur/Midtown, way better option. Pretty disappointing ... next. read more

Delicious food, enormous portions. Loved the huge, vibrant, eclectic crowd while waiting 30 mins. Had the falafel plate, fries and baklava. Ask for sauce for the fires. Very spicy red sauce coming from someone who loves spicy heat. Baklava not as good as everyone raves about. My friend had the gyro and chicken plate and loved it as well. Very busy at 11:50 am on a Tuesday. Parking IS an issue at this busy place. We parked in adjacent lot for a closed business. read more

I was excited when this restaurant can to Atlanta. If you've had Halal food off a truck in NYC then you'll be disappointed cause this doesn't measure up. If you never had the truck version then you can't miss what you never had. This place is decent but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there. It's overpriced and you don't get the amount you would off of a food truck but I guess since they made it all the way to Georgia it's worth a try. The best thing was the hot sauce. Super spicy and really tasty. read more

I'm not sure on the reviews that they are getting, but my experience at halal guys was great. The restaurant was crowded but they have pretty much figured out logistics problems that they were suffering from in the first couple of weeks. I got the chicken platter. The white sauce here was delicious and a teeny bit of hot sauce really topped off the entire dish. I always like to smatther my bowl with plenty of white sauce! I would say that the restaurant provided exactly what I expected sheet having the food cart in NYC. I enjoyed the meal and the portions were hefty for the price. read more

Super simple menu makes decision making easy. We got a gyro and a falafel and both were made to order so they were hot and fresh. The crinkle fries also were cooked to order and they ask if we want salted or not. Seating is all tabletops so dont expect booth seating. read more

Being a former NY and eating at the original food cart..so glad this place is here! It was just as good. The manager (I think) came around and asked how everything was and was very personable. Disappointed for the second time. The foodwise, it's okay for hungry-I-need-something-quick for under$10 but if you order something anything that the price isn't listed on the overhead menu board, you might get a little "surprise" at the check out. They charged me for tap water (reason is you are being charged for the cup) and they told me jalapeño slices are .50 but they rang it .65 but it says olives on the receipt. They told me it's all the same thing. I was misinformed to purchase something that I might not have bought- but they're not willing to fix it. read more

I've been coming here since the opening day of this location and there was a massive line for weeks just to get in. It's great food but lately they have gotten SO skimpy with the portions and a certain employee always has an attitude no matter the day . I still go because I love the platter but Jesus fix the portions , it's a corporate franchise I know y'all can afford to fix this portion issue. Don't even get me started on the gyro , what a scam . Very small read more

Very disappointed after all the hype. This concept works much better as a late night street vendor/food truck than a QSR. I ordered the sandwich with gyro meat. The pita bread was too thick, the lettuce was low quality iceberg, and the tomatoes were not flavorful. The gyro meat was tasty but I consistently found chunks of cartilage or ground bone in my bites. The white sauce was quite good but my wife received very little on her's. The crinkle cut fries were good but a little pricey. I did not try the other sides. This is the kind of place I'd go at 2am to cure drunk munchies, not for lunch or dinner though. I'd even go Great wraps before coming back here. read more

It was good, I've had better at many other places around town though. I wouldn't wait hours for this. Luckily caught a friend of mine in the front of the line who ordered for me so I didn't have to wait. I think the staff is just on overload with the opening hype that it's hard to keep up. I'm sure once the buzz does down they can focus more on operations (quality, speed and service). I liked the white sauce and the red hot sauce. Had the mixed platter and falafel platter. Will def give it another shot soon and see how things are and give an updated review. I'm sure with a little work I would give a higher rating. read more

I have had the original chicken and rice in NYC since about 2003. For me, the food is appetizing only after a night out. When I heard that this place was opening up in Atlanta, I had mixed feelings. On the one hand, I appreciated all the times halal guys provided hot tasty food when my judgment was severely impaired. however, I've never been inclined to get this quality of Mediterranean food for a regular meal. I decided to try them out for dinner and I was underwhelmed. The food was flavorless and boring. I would not recommend Halal Guys. there are so many far superior options in the area for delicious flavorful higher quality middle eastern/Mediterranean food. read more
