First off, the guy who took my order barely understood anything I said. I ordered a gyro with ONLY American cheese and white (gyro) sauce, and he said they had it. When I got my order, there was no bag--just the gyro and a box of fries. The gyro meat was burnt, it had lettuce and tomato (which I did NOT ask for), no cheese, and they gave me green sauce instead of white. I went back in to fix it, and he told me they don't even have cheese--then tried to remake it and asked AGAIN if I wanted lettuce and tomatoes after I clearly said I didn't. The food here is very reasonable. Where else can you get butter chicken that's authentic and good for $8.95. Wow. Also their chicken wings are unbelievably tasty. I don't really like spicy things, but somehow these don't bother me. The food is very reasonable and I often get it off of DoorDash, which is the same price actually as it is in the restaurant. Same with Uber eats. The people that work here work hard and they're friendly. It's always really busy and my order is always ready if I order ahead. I haven't dined in the new new restaurant, but it does look very nice. I take food to go. I love this hole-in-the-wall. Well, to be completely honest, they did so well in the hole in the wall, they built another restaurant about 100 ft away . Bright, shiny, and new. It has always been the food and the price point which keeps me coming back. I love lamb and they used to have lamb shank only on the weekends but in their new place they have it regularly. It is tender, tasty and cheap. Their food is always abundant and served with a smile. They have a green sauce which is served with most of their dishes served with a salad and rice. Get extra, as it is absolutely delicious. Their menu is varied with hamburgers from $5.00 to $11.00 to $14.00 range including curries, biriyanis, and their combo plates at $29.00 or so. They even have oxtails. Lots of side dishes. They serve samosas for $1.00 each. If you would rather , they can package everything to take home. If I could give more than five stars, I would! I specifically drove alllll the way from Smyrna to Bismillah Cafe strictly for their samosas based on reviews, and they did not disappoint! I needed a batch of 30 for a student meeting and requested half veggie and half chicken. It also came with their own special sauces. The location was easy to find and I was able to pay for my food over the phone. When I got there, my order was ready to go. I was interested in trying one of their desserts and they were kind enough to let me try one. Fast forward to the next day when I brought it to my students (6th-8th grade), they absolutely loved it! I warmed them up in the microwave as advised and you could still taste the rich spices and flavors used to create this dish. I found the Cafe by chance as I was getting my hair done the area. I was able to place my order via the web. It was easy to do and the food choices were excellent. When I arrived I was greeted with a smile and my food was ready. It's a small restaurant with a few tables but the food was amazing! For a quick eat I wound highly recommend. This really hit the spot! I think this is probably the best biryani I've had and the green sauce just brings everything to the next level. They give you a lot of meat and it's well incorporated into the rice so practically every bite has some. The veggie samosas are pretty standard, standard being delicious, and they're so cheap. And the naan is super good too. One order gives you like four pieces. Not only are the prices pretty cheap, but the sizes are huge. Despite me patronizing numerous Indian, Pakistani, Nepali, Sri Lankan, Burmese, and other restaurants devoted to various neighboring regional cuisines, this was my first time trying a Bangladeshi restaurant. Apparently Atlanta's suburbs must host a decent community because there are several such businesses in a small stretch. I tried the most established one. I was pleased to discover that ordering online offered a robust 25% off the list price. My GPS took me to a market with a small takeout inside, but apparently online orders are sent to a separate restaurant next door. This would seem to be a common issue, but even they seemed a bit confused by the situation. I walked across the beat up parking lot to the other building and found my food waiting. While the cuisine of Bangladesh appears to be less vegetarian-friendly than most of the subcontinent, I thought it would be worth trying their take on biryani. I was right. A luxuriously spiced creation that reminds you that this is the part of the world where spices come from, this dish excites the tastebuds. I was a little miffed there was no chickpeas or other beans thrown in for more protein content, but it was delicious enough that I didn't care. A samosa was tasty as most of them are, but was notably enhanced by a complex hot sauce. My separate ordered of chickpeas was strongly flavored and spicy as well. I got a ton of food for my money, and despite the limitations of this place, it was an interesting experience. I may be inclined to try out its neighbors before I return to see what else the cuisine has to offer. read more

I have been all over the US and I have searched for Bengali/Bangladeshi biryani all over the country. I have only found 2 places in the country that make such great authentic biryani, one is Aladdin in LA, and the other one is this place. Aladdin is still #1 for me, it is just unbeaten when it comes to this cuisine. However, this place came the closest to give Aladdin a run for its money. There are 2 establishments, both named 'Bismillah Cafe', which is apparently a result of a brotherly feud. Go to the bigger building. The kachhi biryani was amazing, and they had fusion dishes like the shawarma biryani which was a sleeper hit. Don't miss out on this place! read more

Amazing food and one of the most hospitable owners I've ever met! I got the chicken tikka curry and a samosa, and both were incredibly delicious. I will absolutely be getting more samosas next time, as they're only $1! The curry was $12.99 - the value at this place is off the charts. The owner would address customers as "brother" or "sister" and checked in on my friend and I to see if we needed anything. I felt so welcomed and got to chat with the owner briefly. He's been in business for 20+ years and lives locally in the Chamblee/Doraville area. Atmosphere is hole in the wall vibes and I love it. A local gem that has earned a spot in my favorites. To clarify some potential confusion - there's Bismillah Cafe, and then right next door is Bismillah Market that ALSO serves what I presume to be the same exact menu. We, not realizing the difference, went to Bismillah Market where it looked like most people were only taking out from. The market location is tiny and has very limited seating. First time in....very pleasant counter service, very simple kitchen right in front of you, napkin holders out of napkins on all tables, tables not clean of crumbs, etc. a bit dirty run down like other parts of the world that are fun to travel in... So far we have ordered here 3 times, on one of the delivery service apps, and each time has been excitingly tasteful. The veggie samosas are incredible with peas and potatoes, among other veggies, cushioned in a blend of spices, making them semi-spicy and delicious all while wrapped in a perfect crust. The meat samosas are also wonderful! -- the crust is different than the veggie samosas; it is crunchier and flakey. I don't find the meat samosas "spicy" at all. They are different samosas and are different experiences with trying. Our orders came with two kinds of sauces that were great if you like to dip. We also ordered chicken shawarma biryani (I unexpectedly fell in love with this plate! -and butter chicken (also amazing). Both are great with naan, and so flavorful in their own ways. the butter chicken being more saucy. My boyfriends loves the wings. The heat levels, I would say, is for a well-seasoned palate. You get so much food, too. For 2 people, it lasts us at least 2 nights of dinner. There are plenty of leftovers for us to continue the enjoyment. We reheat the samosas in the air fryer. Got a beef and pork shwarma biryani plate which included a small salad. As someone who's not usually a fan of biryani plates, I did enjoy how thoroughly seasoned all the very red rice was. It was made even better with the green sauce served on the side. As for the chicken samosas, they were very dry but also almost cold by the time I got to eat them. I was picking up a delivery and at the time, they were in their original location in a small "closet space" on the end of Bismillah Market. It was clear they knew their customers and the customers were dedicated. After smelling the food in my car, there was no question I'd be returning for myself ASAP! We've tried many different menu items at this point and are so happy to see that they've rightfully moved next door into their own new separate building. This place has some dope food. If you're in the area, I'd definitely recommend. This year, they moved from a smaller walk-up establishment next door to a more legit building, it's bigger and there's tables and booths to dine inside. The parking is a bit limited though but seriously, you're gonna want to slide in as best you can. Usually I order the salmon curry with naan, veggie samosas, and the green sauce. They used to include a small container of the green sauce but you now have to order it separately just fyi. Don't want to get home and not have it! I don't know what their score is, but just like Waffle House, I don't care! Lol Lastly, if you are a DoorDash user, they go by Indian Flavour on there. We ordered takeout from their website, and the estimated time was about 15-20 minutes. It is located next to a grocery store, and it does have seating outside. The restaurant itself does give the definition of hole in the wall haha. We ordered the hot wings, chicken shawarma biriyani, and butter chicken. The butter chicken was definitely our least favorite. I felt like it lacked flavor, and I personally wouldn't get it again. The biriyani was AMAZING though, and I am so glad I listened to the reviews and ordered extra green sauce for it. They were actually out of wings for the hot wings and gave us chicken shawarma in their hot sauce instead. This was not a disappointment honestly because their sauce is so good. Food was spectacular; one of my favorite hole-in-the-wall restaurants, it recently got its sign changed, so if you guys go again, it's labeled under a food mart but their kitchen still is open! I got the mutton korma which was very different from the korma I usually get, but it was still savory and delicious and the lamb was not at all gamey. The rice was fragrant and decadent. I also got their mango lassi and chai; the lassi was thick without overwhelming yogurt taste, I could have 3 in one sitting easily. The chai tasted a little watery or burnt from being steeped for so long, but still good. The veggie samosas were honestly better than the chicken ones--they were more juice and retained their moisture after frying, but my friend liked the seasoning of the chicken filling more. This is a certified hole in the wall restaurant in the Brookhaven/BuHi area. You can dine here but if you pull up you'll see why most folks carry out or do delivery. I ordered 3 disea the mixed shawarma biryani, lamb curry and the ruhu fish curry. I really enjoyed all three of them the mixed shawarma the most. The lamb curry flavor was great but there were lots of tough chewy pieces (what can you expect at the $12 price point) some pieces were great. I'll need to visit more to determine the baseline for their lamb and goat. The Ruhu fish curry flavor was bomb I really really enjoyed this one but I was having trouble with some of the fish bones. I grew up on the water and ate dishes 3x a week growing up that we caught so I'm quite skilled getting bones out but some of these were small and hard to detect with my tongue. It was good but I don't think it's worth the effort for me personally I'll have to try the salmon next time. If you order at the stand outside the restaurant they'll have it to you shortly for my 3 dishes I waited about 10 minutes. While I was waiting I thought it was funny a guy pulled up in a car and shouted his order and the workers rang it up. I'll have to try that method next visit!! We placed our order for takeout over the phone at 6:55 pm on a Monday night. It was ready in 15 minutes. Here's what we got: - Naan ($2): Not the best naan we've ever had. - Veggie and Meat Samosas ($1 each): We liked the meat samosa better than the veggie. The meat samosa was really good. - Chicken Tikka Masala Curry ($9): We were not fans of this. It didn't have very much flavor at all. We would not get this again. - Mixed Shawarma Biryani ($9): The mixed shawarma comes with chicken and lamb. It was amazing. The green sauce is the bomb. A Buford highway gem! Came here for the first time after hearing all about the wings. I was really craving butter chicken though, and it def satisfied the craving! The version here is more buttery and spicy and less tomato-y than other places; it tastes like butter chicken in India. It's perfection! The rice is a little salty but just enough that it's tasty even by itself. The naan is actually pita bread, which annoyed me til I tasted it - perfectly flaky and soft. I got hot tea, which was very sugary, also more like in India. I ordered online for pickup, and when I got there, they had all kinds of fried foods at the counter. They said it's for Ramadan. I got potato and eggplant, which were delicious and not greasy; tasted very fresh. The jalebi they added was also extra crispy delicious; one of my favorite Indian sweets! The ginger juice is very concentrated and yummy. I didn't expect to love this place, but now I think it's my go to. The guys at the front were super friendly and just seemed happy to be there. I daydream of Bismillah's hot wings. Omg! This hole in a wall store/restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, but the magic that happens in that kitchen is something special. Our friends catered and hosted us one night and we couldn't stop talking about the wings. For months we talked about it. They had another event and again, ordered the wings. We decided to finally check out the restaurant for ourselves and boy oh boy! I'm glad we did...we ordered the vegetable biryani, shawarma biryani, hot wings, and samosas with another special hot sauce for the samosas. Lord!!! Bismillah. When I say everything was amazing, EVERYTHING was delicious! It was so good we went back a few days later. We also love 45 minutes away so it's not close to our house.... On my way home from work, I decided I wanted to celebrate Friday by treating myself to dinner from somewhere I had never been. Through my Google searching when I pulled into a random parking lot, I found Bismillah Cafe nearby had great reviews on both Google and Yelp, as opposed to the restaurants in the plaza I parked in to search. I placed a pickup order through the restaurant's website, and waited for their confirmation of my order. My first impression of the exterior was that I was a little intimidated, as a girl alone at night. It seemed a little sketchy, to be perfectly honest--no offense intended. However, those feelings I had quickly eased up as I noticed the people outside the restaurant appeared happy and harmless. My order first said it would be ready in 15 minutes, but that kept extending. While my stomach was getting antsy, I decided that that was a positive sign of busyness, which probably meant good food! About 30 minutes later, I got my food! While in line, I realized that I probably would've gotten my food sooner had I immediately stepped in the actual physical line outside, rather than wait in my car. My food wasn't ready, and I could be wrong, but it seemed like they started gathering it once I approached them asking for my order. Next time, I'll immediately get in the physical line to get noticed. That seemed to be the key. On the way home, the scent of the food was making me drool! The moment I stepped in my apartment, I threw my keys on the counter and got to opening the containers. Everything looked great! The one thing I was disappointed about was that I guess I incorrectly assumed I'd be getting one of the green sauces since the website says you can order EXTRA for an extra charge. To me that implied that every order came with one green sauce. Either they don't or they forgot mine. Next time, I'll ask for it, because it sounded very popular! Anyway, onto the tastes-- -The veggie samosa was a great price and very flavorful! I should have definitely ordered more than one! It had a nice amount of spiciness to it, perfect crunch, and delicious flavor! -The Malay curry felt less a curry to me and more a marinated lamb. There was a LOT of oil in my container and not really the curry/sauce that I'm familiar with. I had intended to pour my curry on the rice as well as dip my pita bread in it, but with all that oil instead of sauce, that was a no-go. I also expected cubed meat rather than on-the-bone, which is more of a challenge to eat (of course that was my own incorrect assumption, no fault of the restaurant's). Regardless, the lamb itself was yummy minus some fatty pieces. It was so tender, and spicy. -The texture of the naan seemed more like a cross between naan and pita bread to me, but it still hit the spot. -Finally, the rice was nice and warm, and a huge portion! I loved how it tasted! Over all, I really enjoyed my experience with this place. It feels authentic. I am looking forward to trying more dishes and finding an entree that's more my speed. read more

We ordered the chicken samosa, 2 orders of nan(this was more like pita bread because of the thickness and flavor) , butter chicken(comes with rice), and mutton biryani. Everything was so yummy. The butter chicken was savory and had a kick of spice. The biryani was sooooo good. The naan here was not my fav since it really didn't taste like naan. Can't wait to order food here again.
