The buffet setup. Each dish with details about what's inside
    Auriel T.

I came here for lunch with my coworkers and I had not heard about so I was really excited to try it. It's an Indian buffet and I believe they now have locations in other cities. They offer chai tea and water as part of the buffet price. The food is really delicious. Authentic Indian cuisine and each dish or side is labeled as vegan, gluten free or clearly detailed with the kind of protein and spices. The place is festively decorated and they have an outside covered patio with seating to enjoy your meal in nice weather. The servers remove your dish as you finish to make room for you next round. I loved this place and will absolutely be back.

I loved Bottiwalla so I already knew I would love this but I have to say it blew me away! We got there on a Friday around 6:30 and had to wait about 20 minutes for a table in the patio but there was tons of room inside. To drink, I got the Malabar and let me just say I didn't know I need tequila, Campari and Aperol in a drink until now because that was awesome. To eat, we got the kale pakora, the potato pav sandwich, the saag paneer, SPDP and some naan. Plenty of food for 3 people and we had extra but everything was amazing. The star was the kale pakora that was so delicious but the saag was so stunning. The waitress was also kind do a half order of the vada pav so we had 3 vs just 2 sliders! This was also super delicious and I can't wait to come back!

This is a really nice place to have the chance to get a bite of different dishes at the same time. The buffet offers a good variety of dishes that works great for lunch. I've been here twice, with a group of 4 people and we always have a good experience. Food has been great every time, same as drinks (the chai here is delicious). During the lunch hours it gets very busy, however, the staff is always helpful and kind. I love the design and style that this place has, it's definitely a vibe.

I'd been waiting to come to Chai Pani for a long time and wow it lived up to the hype!! I came here for dinner with a friend on a Thursday night. We came pretty early and I'm glad we did because there was such a long line when we left, even on a Thursday! There's a small lot to park in, but I also found residential parking across the street. Chai pani is pretty spacious and I loved all the decor, especially the retro signs and marigolds everywhere! It was just so cheerful. We decided to order family style. I got the Pani drink which was so delicious and really did taste just like Pani Puri! So minty and delicious. we decided to split the SPDP, saag paneer, and Gobi 65 as well as gulab jamun for dessert. Everything was so flavorful and delicious and just the perfect portion sizes! I had such a great time, I can't wait to come back on a weekend to try their fresh pani puri cart!

Have visited Chai Pani twice now, once for dinner and once for the lunch buffet. Lunch buffet is a good deal, definitely love the self-serve tea! The food was alright, a bit heavy on the fried items though (would have preferred more dals and other dishes). Spice level was pretty low, definitely manageable for someone who isn't very good with spicy food. If you're looking for more flavorful food, though, I'd suggest trying a different place. Dinner was good and inventive, they have a nice mix of classics and modern takes on dishes. Service was great and store was clean!

I've heard good things about Chai Pani and so glad to finally try it! I've tried Botiwalla at Ponce City Market and liked it so I had a feeling I would also like Chai Pani. I came on a Tuesday night and got seated quickly, no wait! They have free parking at the lot but lot was nearly full when I got there. I believe there is nearby free parking after 6pm at a nearby carpet store. There is a lot of dining area and I love the decoration. I felt very immersed ! We got a mix of food, including sev potato dahi puri, Kale Pakora Chaat, naan, Chilli chicken, cheese uttapam, and daal. Everything was delicious and flavorful ! My favorite was the kale pakora chaat. There was plenty of food for 3 people and was very reasonably priced. Service is good and food didn't take too long to come out. I can see why it was named an outstanding restaurant by the James Beard Foundation ! They also do a buffet lunch option that I've heard good things about as well but I haven't been to it.

Always yum! Chai Pani's menu is a blast of flavors. If you want some Indian food (street food) this is the place. They have a location in Decatur and also in Asheville. Two amazing food scenes, with that being said Chai Pani being so popular shows a lot. My obsession from Chai Pani is their butter chicken and a side of Naan. If you haven't visited yet, you definitely should!

Came for the lunch buffet right when it opened and had high hopes for this place! The service was friendly and the ambiance is very fun and festive and the food looked legit. However, I wasn't wow'ed by it. It might've just been that day, but the curries weren't all that flavorful or spiced, which is usually what I'm looking forward to with Indian food. The butter chicken is on the sweeter side, which was interesting, but the aloo tikka chaat was pretty good! The hot chai for that day was watery unfortunately. Maybe coming early in day is not the right move, so I'm willing to try it again! Lunch buffet prices (Oct 2025) for weekdays is $17 and for weekends is $21. There's some parking in the back, so when it's not busy it's okay.

My friends brought me here for dinner while I was visiting. We went on a Saturday night around 6 or 6:30. They had a bit of a wait for our party of 5 but they take your number and you can check your time on the waitlist with the link they send. While we waited we took the kids to the toy park nearby which is where we parked. There is a small parking lot at the restaurant but it is pretty tight. They had a pani puri cart at the front. I didn't try it but it looked fun. Could be a pre dinner snack while waiting for your table. The line for it was pretty long. They also had a section with merch (spices, postcards) that was fun to explore. Had a good experience. They were able to help us add to last minute guests and were helpful to answer my friend's question about peanut allergy. The food was delicious. My favorite was the Gobi 65 and samosa chart. Both had a nice kick to them. We also got the disco behl, saag paneer, and towa chicken all were really good as well and would repeat. They also had fun drinks....I tried the raspberry lime Rickey and the kids enjoyed their mango lassi.

Wowwww I have been eager to try this place and boy was it worth the wait! We ordered here for pick up. I had the butter chicken, samosa chaat and Lime Ricky. The butter chicken had more of a kick to it in comparison to normal but I didn't mind that. The sauces that came with the samosa chaat were incredible. The lime Ricky was a very refreshing and fresh drink! I was not a fan of the cabbage nor the naan. I had high expectations for the naan and it honestly left me disappointed. Our friend had the shrimp dish which had his nose running because of the spice, however he loved it! Our friends that picked up the food said the establishment was nice and clean. I cannot wait to visit again and dine in! See you soon Chai Pani!

This is hands down my favorite Indian restaurant next to Tabla! I could eat here daily. I've gone 3 times now and the answer will always be yes! There's happiness the moment you walk in from the decor to the service. Kid friendly because they have the best cheese parathas ever! I would order them for myself and often take a bite from my kids plate! We've both craved them and ordered to-go before! My first experience was the Vada Pav: Spicy potato dumplings fried in curried chickpea batter topped with green & tamarind chutneys. Served on two toasted buns. (vegetarian) It was so spicy and soooo good! Pretty much everything we ordered was super spicy so if you don't like spicy, ask them to make it mild. Now this is by far my favorite and makes me want it right now! Sloppy Jai (Kheema Pav) which is Parsi style spiced lamb hash simmered with tomatoes, ginger, vinegar, and spices. Served with griddled pav. Just go! Just run and go asap! You won't regret it! It's an experience on the weekends so go with family or friends! You're welcome!

I was already kinda impressed looking at the outdoor decor and the kind if vibe they had set up. The service was prettt good. The server was very helpful and suggested popular dishes and side note- they were actually SO yummy. The HIGHLIGHT of the restaurant was the live panipuri counter. It tasted just like a street side thela in Mumbai and i will definitely be going vack just for this.

I had a team lunch here, and we all did the lunch buffet. I wasn't sure what that would entail, but I was assured by my friends that it's different from American buffets. It is. It's nice for people who are new to Indian cuisine or want a variety of options, and it's really quick. It's great for lunch, and I can see why. When we visited, the restaurant was mostly full. Not quite bustling, thankfully, but they definitely can pull a crowd. For those who would need to drive here, parking is limited. Chai Pani shares parking space with two(?) other businesses, and there are signs that only people visiting those businesses can park or risk being towed.

A very differently tasting food serving restaurant with all the flavorful North Indian main dishes…read more(Vegetarian only) at a very reasonable price and a pretty good ambience, then this should be the place for you. Would have gone past this building a 100 times and never did I notice this restaurant. Got here because someone recommended and it was very much worth it. Dine in at 7:30 PM was great with very less crown on a Thursday. THE FOOD: We ordered the North Indian Thali (says it's available until 3PM, looks like it's available through the dinner time as well). Was served in a nice Wooden board with Rice, Achar (pickle), Boondhi Raitha, Tandoori Roti (was soo good), Aloo Gobi masala, Shahi Paneer, Chole, Dhal Tadka and Paapad. The Chole was tasing so different and I guess it's the Amritsari Chole. The Shahi Paneer was top notch and Dal tadka as well. AlooGobi was super spicy but the taste was good. The single Roti piece is definitely not enough I feel, and would require another to complete the thali. Slightly pricey there I feel. We also got a AlooTikki Chaat and that tasted really good. The quantity was pretty much good for one person. I would say the spice levels were spot on. Not too much spicy (Honest these days are making it very spicy) or bland. Good quantity and sat well on the tummy. And literally did see a family enjoying their food very much and gave a very nice feeling while we were waiting for our food. SERVICE & AMBIENCE: The ambience was very much nice with all colorful wall paintings and aesthetics and wall hangings. Well lit. But there was some unpleasant smell that was kind of bothering us. I wish they address it. It wasn't crowded and the food arrived in less than 5-10minutes of ordering. The parking could be a concern. The staffs were very much courteous and polite. BOTTOMLINE: If you are in for a slightly Delhi based food flavor, I guess this should be your place. The curries are delicious and the restaurant is family friendly. Slightly pricey in my opinion. Would definitely visit here to try out other things. MY PICKS FOR YOU: North Indian Thali, AlooTikki Chaat, Chole curry
