Very good Indian street food. I was able to get in customize my order and take out very easily. Chill spot overall and very good service.

Both my husband and I were in the mood for Indian food one day, and we've noticed this place on several occasions. I'm not on a keto diet or anything at all, but I sometimes choose lower carb options depending on my mood or how I'm feeling. So, when we checked out the menu and I saw they have a keto bowl, I wanted to give it a try. With the keto bowl, you have the option of chicken or paneer, and I always order the chicken since the bowl includes saag paneer. I only gave them less than five stars because my bowl hasn't been consistent. At times, I've gotten very little of the saag paneer where it was noticeably less than other times. They've forgotten to add the sliced almonds with my bowl a couple of times, and they add such a nice texture to the meal. And I know it sounds crazy, but I sometimes wish the saag paneer had less paneer. I would even love just the spinach on its own! On different occasions, my husband has tried the chicken sandwich, the chicken tikka masala burrito, the butter chicken burrito, and the peri peri fries. He's enjoyed everything he's had. Their rewards program is pretty good too! Each time we stop by, service is fast and the employees are friendly. Utilizing a coupon I had, I got their Vada pav which was the first time I ever had before. The cashier recommended that dish or the samosas. But since I've had samosas before I figured it was a perfect opportunity to try something new. I was glad I did because I thoroughly enjoyed their soft potato filling inside well fried balls in soft rolls. The only thing that could have made the dish better would have been a sweet chutney sauce on the side to dip in. This is one of my family's go-to for takeout. They have a ton of fun Indian fusion dishes and some classics as well. The naan pizza is a delicious, fun option, and I love the sauce on it. The deconstructed samosa is also a favorite and a huge option, I love that you can add some protein as well. The samosas can be a little spicier by themselves, but not in this bowl. They also do some creative limited options that are unique, like the croissant dabeli, which I thought was very flavorful but a little smaller than what I thought it would be. Most of the time, we get bowls, and I typically really enjoy them. They are very tasty, and there is something for everyone. The butter chicken and chicken tikka are my favorite, and the naan is a must-get. This last time, however, it was much spicier than normal and was spicy enough to make my hand red if I got any sauce on it. We got the spice level that we normally do, but it's possible that it got messed up because we ordered only. We'll definitely continue to go, but we might stick to ordering in person to make sure it isn't so spicy. read more

A very interesting place to dine. Indian fast food. Because the menu was so vast, my friend an i decided to order tapas style. We got the deconstructed samosa (w/ lamb), SEXY fries (w/ chicken) & tikka masala w/ paneer & kulcha naan to share. To dink we ordered the Mango Lassi and the Chai Tea. You order everything at the counter and then have a seat. The food comes out pretty quickly. Inside, the layout gives like a regular fast food place, just tables and chairs. Nothing special, nothing fancy. To me it seems like a really cool place to grab lunch or a quick dinner. As far as the food goes, everything was a certified hit!! I randomly ended up here after a nice long walk and WOW I'm glad I did. Well Indian food normally doesn't "agree" with me and this experience wasn't really any different, but I'd absolutely go through it all again just to eat here LOL. I prefer more hole-in-the-wall type of spots when it comes to certain cuisines. I tend to get nervous when an Indian restaurant looks TOO modern like this one does, as in my experience the more the focus is on fusion and relatability the less flavorful and original the food is. But Curry Up Now has totally changed my perspective on this. The inside of the restaurant is very sleek and modern, and surprisingly very big compared to what it looks like on the outside. They also have a patio area but it didn't look like it was in use (yet). I could definitely see some great mixers and events being hosted here as they have the open-concept garage door on the side of the restaurant. The guy taking our order was very pleasant and attentive with customers, and the auntie cooking in the back knew exactly what she was doing. This is still a fusion restaurant, but it's like an 85% Indian, 15% Fusion mix. I HIGHLY recommend their deconstructed samosa. So so soooo good. Curry up now is a small shop tucked away in a corner next to whole foods in a strip mall in Decatur. I was apprehensive about trying this place but glad I did. It was an afternoon date with wifey and we had had the thali! Its a self service restaurant so ordering was easy once you know what you want. And it's quick - not something you'd normally associate with Indian food. The dishes were flavourfull and colorful. The second time I've been here with just over a year in between and the quality is better if not just as good as I remembered! I live about an hour and 15 minutes away so I haven't been back in a while. I ordered the samosas, the cauliflower Punjabi and the Lamb burrito... WOW! The flavors alone are amazing, but the textures are perfect. The Punjabi was the best fried anything I've eaten- great flavor, texture and temperature! I ate them in one sitting and took a bite of the samosa before realizing I was bit full and saved the rest for later. The burrito was eaten cold (I waited 2 hours before getting to it and it tastes amazing at room temp)! Perfect ratio of moisture to dry ingredients, perfectly rolled- better than anywhere else I've ever been- but heads up, the portion is a little large. I could have eaten everything as two separate meals and a snack. The portions were hefty, but not overwhelming. The young lady that checked me out warned me the burritos would be spicy, but I would rate it at a mild heat if you eat Indian food often. Definitely not what I would consider spicy. The samosas are some of my favorite! The skin is made of potatoes rather than a flour dough and it's fantastic on the texture and flavor. I went at lunch time so it was pretty steady in the To-go traffic. I may have seen 12 orders placed and taken in the 20 minutes I was there. It's clean, plenty of natural light, indoor and outdoor seating and very clean restrooms. Great space for a work lunch, lunch date with any vegan friends (lots of vegan options), or just a solo visit to enjoy some quality food. When I went for the first time, that was probably my first time trying Indian street food. I got the naughty man which was so good. We also got the sexy fries covered in chicken tikka masala. That was also surprisingly good. On my return I tried to order the it's bitsy naan bites but they were unfortunately out so I ended up with sweet potato fries. Also got the Punjabi 69 and I would say I wasn't overly impressed. Take out dinner for 1 I entered and was greeted warmly. The staff at the register was kinda quiet, but friendly. I reviewed the menu which had a lot of good things to choose from. I decided on the Tikka Masala Bowl with a side Naan. Wow, he rang up the bill and it was $17. I thought that was a little expensive for a fast food take out meal. The dining room was pretty big and very clean with a few tables outside. It was pretty empty with only one other table occupied. The food came out very quickly. It only took about 5-7 mins. I was waiting for wifey who had ordered food from another place. I sat in the car, opened the to-go box and tasted the meal while it was still hot. It was good in the car, but it was even better when I got it home. It was like the spices baked in a little more. There was a good amount of food and enough for a second small meal the next day. Yum! Ordered death by tikki masala for my partner and I the other night and we were so happy with this meal! The flavors from everything that was included was present! We went with both paneer and chicken but I think we both preferred the chicken. I really liked the pickled onions and diced tOmatoes. It really adds to the entree. They're only offering pick up orders now so the order comes as pictured. This was my second time ordering from curry up at Decatur. The past time, my friend and I ordered and ate at their outdoor dining space. I had the chicken tikka masala bowl and that was also amazing. The portions are huge and can definitely be split by two or saved as leftovers. It holds up well reheated. I'm really hopeful to come back and dine-in because the presentation for this order looks so nice in photos. But until then, I'll def keep getting take out! read more

This is probably some of the best Indian food I've ever had. My mom picked this up and brought it home. We got the Karol Bagh Kitty Party Thali, which is like a sampler. It had Saag Paneer (very flavorful and just the right amount of spicy), tikka masala with paneer (slightly creamy tomato flavor), daal lentils (a fresh, nutty taste) and turmeric rice, a mini samosa, kulcha naan and fryums (which are like little rice crackers packed with flavor). That was probably some of the best seasoned naan I've ever had. We got samosas and extra rice. I don't like the green chutney (slightly minty/ parsley fresh kinda taste) with the samosas but that's my personal preference. The brown chutney is always my favorite. When you are vegetarian and want only veg friendly protein and come home with chicken..... . While the flavors of the Punjabi by nature bowl were good, the addition of chicken hurt my soul. I do have many meat reviews but starting 2021 with a clear conscience I am 95% vegetarian and 5% pescatarian. Rice was perfectly cooked, nice chickpeas and Sanger Paneer. If it wasn't for Yelp, I probably wouldn't have known about or come to this restaurant. This particular review is primarily based upon my return-trip experience at as a regular paying customer. This place is a solid four stars to me. It's good. Good enough for me to bring my fiancee here and make the 25-minute-plus drive from our home in Midtown to this location in Decatur. Curry Up Now is situated on the north side of Decatur in that new shopping center with Whole Foods, gusto!, Tin Drum, and Bad Daddy's Burger Bar. Like the aforementioned restaurants, Curry Up Now is a fast-casual chain. It's based in San Francisco. This location in Decatur is the company's first in Georgia. At least two more locations are planned for Atlanta proper at the time of writing this review. This location opened in July 2019. Curry Up Now is kind of like the Indian version of Tin Drum. It's not truly "authentic" (traditional), but Americanized. I would categorize the cuisine as Indian and Indian fusion. The restaurant is bright and colorful and has a casual, fun vibe to it. It looks "hip" and "cool." You can order by interacting with a human or by using the self-order kiosk. In addition to a small dining room, the business has a fenced-in patio with umbrella-covered tables and a garage-style door that retracts up to connect the indoor-outdoor spaces. The menu print is tiny, both on the wall behind the registers (the subtext is virtually impossible to read when standing in line to order) and on the print menus. I'd change that if I were them. I'd also make the design less busy. The restaurant offers a wide range of food, focusing on street food, bowls and burritos (kind of sounds like Chipotle). They also serve thali (Indian platters with multiple components) and Indian desserts. Expect to spend about $10 and up for most items. The most expensive items are the biryani ($13) and thali ($14-15). Here's what I've tried: Indian Street Food * Pani Puri ($8) - hollowed semolina puri, potato garbanzo mash, cumin tamarind water Bowl * Punjabi by Nature ($10) with chicken (paneer also option) - saag paneer and tikka masala; turmeric & fenugreek rice, chana masala (daal lentils also option), pico kachumber, housemade root pickles Sexy Fries - Indian-inspired poutine-sweet potato fries, mozzarella ($10) with lamb (+$1; paneer, vegan, chicken also options) Naughty Naan ($11) with paneer - flatbread of flour kulcha naan (wheat also option), mozzarella, caramelized onions, shaved jalapeno, local seasonal greens Thali * Meat Sweats ($15) - lamb keema, ghee makhani butter chicken, kadhai chicken; tumeric and fenugreek rice, daal lentils, pico kachumber, housemade root pickles with papadum, flour kulcha naan (wheat also option) Dessert * May I Come In Sir ($8) - fennel crepes, daal lentil halwa Drinks * Housemade mango drink ($3) * Mango lassi ($4) Overall, I thought most everything was delicious. My favorite item was the Meat Sweats thali and my least favorite was the "May I Come In Sir" dessert. Portion sizes were fair to generous and everything was presented beautifully (Instagram worthy). I recommend everything, but the dessert and mango lassi (more on that below). My recomendations, in order: 1. Meat Sweats thali 2. Punjabi by Nature bowl 3. Sexy Fries 4. Naughty Naan 5. Pani Puri street food You can't go wrong with any of the above. In the first two items, the lamb keema, ghee makhani butter chicken, kadhai chicken, daal lentils, saag paneer, and chicken tikka masala were all good to great. In general, they were tasty and full of flavor. My favorites were the ghee makhani butter chicken, saag paneer, and chicken tikka masala. Creamy, buttery, and tender. I like the addition of the "salsa" (pico kachumber) and pickles to the bowls and thali to mix things up. One thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the rice. It was harder, more dense, and more moist/soggy than the fluffier and more fragrant basmati rice I'm used to eating at other Indian restaurants. The Sexy Fries were terrific. We got ours with lamb and my mouth waters just thinking about it. Admittedly skeptical at first, these fusion fries were crispy and flavorful. The lamb was ground and seasoned wonderfully. The Naughty Naan was like eating an Indian pizza. I liked that there was lots of paneer. Both the Sexy Fries and Naughty Naan are heavier dishes. The pani puri hit the spot. The "May I Come In Sir" tasted strange because of the fennel. It was like eating crepes that had a hint of mukhwas (Indian mouth freshener). Perhaps an acquired taste. The mango lassi had a bite to it. I suspect the yogurt in the drink had fermented more than I'm accustomed to. Service was excellent during both visits. Believe what you've heard!! This place is completely amazing!! My friend found this place close to an event we were attending. I'd say this is "fast-food" Indian. However, the "fast" part is the speed on which your food comes out after ordering. First, you order at the counter. There's an array of options for meat eaters, vegans and vegetarians. Second, your given a glass mason jar for your choice of delicious beverages. Then, you seat yourself. And before you know it your food is ready. They bring your meals with utensils & napkins already on the table. My friends and I were completely amazed! Everything and I mean EVERYTHING was absolutely delicious! We couldn't believe it! We ended up ordering extra Samosas for the table and they let us pay upon exiting so we didn't interrupt our meals. The staff was friendly and inviting. Curry Up Now is more fusion than traditional. The inside is chic and modern. Though there are traditional dishes, their menu items include such things as burritos and quesadillas. The hubs had the biryani burrito while I had the kathi roll. His biryani burrito was pretty average. It's like a Moe's/Willy's/Chipotle burrito but with Indian ingredients. He added chicken for the protein option, and he mentioned that the biryani wasn't as hard as other places since it was rather moist. For me, I thought it could have used more chicken and additional kicks of flavor. I also have the same sentiments that this burrito was pretty okay as it lacked luster. My kathi roll was super different. I mean. It was under the signature items section. The roti (that's used as the wrap) was oily but oh so good. For $1 more, I choose the (ground) lamb option. There is an egg that's encompassed into the wrap so make sure to let them know if you want this. Picking it out is a pain in the behind since it's wrapped alongside the roti. This dish also came with house-made potato crisps and pico as pictured, but why did the pico come in such a small dipping sauce container? :/ There's an outdoor patio seating area if you prefer a fresh air atmosphere. You don't have to worry about parking. There are plenty of spaces as Curry Up Now is in the complex with Whole Foods 365. read more
