Deceptive Pricing - Stay Away…read more I had been a loyal customer of Chai Peking for years, but after repeatedly seeing the manager intentionally mislead customers about the lunch special, I will not be returning. The lunch special is advertised as starting at $16 (see picture). The staff quickly ask what entrée, rice, egg roll, and soup you want, making it sound like they are included. They do not tell you that egg rolls and soup are not included in the price. You only find out after you order and get the bill. I've personally seen staff do this to multiple customers. They carefully choose their words to avoid telling you there will be an additional charge, hoping you won't notice. To add insult to injury, I was charged over $18.50 for a meal that was rice with barely any meat (see picture)! How can they seriously think they can charge $18.50 for this? Over the years, their prices have gone up, portions have gotten smaller, and now customers are being charged extra without being clearly informed. Between the deceptive way the lunch special is presented and the laughably small portion sizes, it feels like Chai Peking is taking advantage of customers. I won't be returning, and I hope others, especially in the local community, avoid supporting this business until it takes responsibility, treats its customers with respect, and stops using deceptive pricing tactics.
