Close up of broken beer bottle served to me unknowingly.
    Aaron B.

I normally don't leave negative reviews, but what happened to me here was genuinely frightening and should be taken seriously by management and potential customers. I ordered a Taj Mahal beer with my meal, and it was served in a glass alongside the bottle--as is typical. I drank most of the beer from the glass without knowing what was to come. However, when I went to pour the remaining beer from the bottle into the glass, I noticed something alarming: the neck of the bottle was broken, with large, jagged shards of glass missing from the rim. When I brought this to the staff's attention, they admitted they knew the bottle was broken when they served it to me. Even more disturbing, they had placed the bottle cap back on top--presumably to hide the damage and make it less noticeable. They told me they thought it was "okay" to serve anyway. That response absolutely shocked me. This wasn't a small chip--it was obvious, sharp, and incredibly dangerous. I was genuinely terrified that I might have unknowingly consumed broken glass. I've attached photos of the broken bottle for reference. This goes beyond poor judgment--this is a major safety violation. I sincerely hope management steps in immediately and ensures staff are properly trained on basic food and beverage safety. Serving a broken glass bottle--knowingly--is unacceptable and reckless.

Food was great along with great customer service. Great location in Chamblee area. A-lot of food given for the main dishes which is great for leftovers. My husband & I shared one of the main chicken dishes for lunch & we still left with a-lot of leftovers.

The food was delicious and the restaurant was great. I'm a solo traveler and enjoyed sitting at the bar. The staff was on top of things while also letting me eat and enjoy my food. I got butter chicken and garlic naan with some delicious wine.

We came here for lunch on a Thursday right before they closed down for the afternoon. The staff was very friendly and our water was very attentive. We ordered the chicken 65 and two beef samosas for an appetizer. The chicken 65 was a bit dry and the external shell was crunchy. I was disappointed in the chicken 65 and it wasn't hot at all even though it had the coloring of a normal chicken 65. The samosas were also a bit dry on the inside but the sauces they brought out helped with that. I probably wouldn't get an appetizer next time I go. The stars here were the garlic naan bread and the lamb vindaloo which were cooked to absolute perfection and so delicious. The lamb was tender, very well seasoned and spicy. The rice that came with the dish was great and went well with the lamb vindaloo. I would definitely return for it.

I'm not sure why this place has four stars, which was the reason we came here in the first place. The service was alright but the food took forever and the quality was very poor. We started with peshawari naan. The naan dough was really thick. I'm used to thin and slightly crispy with a pleasant chewiness, this tasted nothing like that and kept falling apart. Almost an hour later we got the entrees. My friend ordered a chicken dish and I got mixed tandori grille. The chicken in my dish was extremely dry, the shrimp at least half an hour overcooked and pure rubber, the sausage was processed, like a hot dog. It was a rainy Wednesday night and I think there was only one other table there. Absolutely no reason for this long of a wait. No way will we be returning.

Himalayas is delicious. Also, the owner is so sweet and funny and makes you feel so at home. Everyone who works there is so kind! We had a party of 5 at 7:30 on a Sunday night. It took a while for the food to come out, but the appetizers helped! They have a great patio for outdoor seating with cafe lighting! In the winter, they have heat lamps. There is street parking and also a lot off of Pierce Drive. Here's what we got: - Veggie Samosas ($6 for 2): Very good! The samosas were a good size too! - Chana Puri ($10): Good! - Panir Masala ($14): Delicious! After the samosas and the chana puri, we had some leftover! - Naan ($3, 2 orders): Sooo good, especially dipped in the masala sauce! They are very willing to customize dishes - one person got half tofu and half panir masala. Good prices, good food, good portions. Highly recommend!

So much bang for your buck! It was about $50 total for 1 order of vegetable samosas, 2 orders of garlic naan, and 3 entrees which each came with basmati rice: Saag Paneer, Vegetable Korma, and Daal Makhani. The portions are plentiful, and the flavors are delicious. I took it to go, but the restaurant seems comfortable and casual, and the service was friendly. We will definitely be back for more!

Delicious Bangladeshi food!!!…read more I've tried the Chicken Tikka Masala ($17), Chicken 65 ($10), and garlic naan ($5), onion pakora ($8) and everything was so delicious. The Chicken 65 is super spicy, flavorful, and honestly so addictive--I definitely recommend trying it if you like heat. The Chicken Tikka Masala is exactly how I like it: creamy, rich, and full of flavor. Onion pakora was tasty. The garlic naan was fluffy, soft, and cooked perfectly. The service is always great too. We were craving something a little different, so we landed on Indian/Bangladeshi cuisine. The reviews made the choice easy, so we headed straight to their Chamblee location. We were greeted right away and seated immediately, which was a great start. Badur (apologies if I'm spelling that wrong!) took care of us the entire time and was fantastic--super helpful with the menu and quick to offer great recommendations. We kicked things off with the Daal Puri: two mini, airy, soft flatbreads stuffed with lentils. They reminded me of a very light, crispy empanada, and I loved them. The accompanying tamarind sauce balanced everything perfectly. Definitely ordering that again on our next visit. For the mains, I went with the butter chicken, which was excellent. The chicken tasted like it had been smoked or grilled before being mixed into the sauce, and that extra flavor made it stand out. My friend ordered the Goat Bhuna, which was also delicious. Both dishes came with Baashmoti polao rice. We also added the Mixed Naan--stuffed with cheese, onion, garlic, and cilantro--and it was incredibly good. Overall, we had an amazing time. Great service, fantastic food, and a really enjoyable vibe. Solid 10/10. We'll definitely be back soon!

Yes, this spot is a little rough and primarily does catering. But once you get pass all of this,…read morethe food will wow you. This place is quite a hole in the wall. The Indian television show the owners had on makes everything more authentic. One Yelper was on point when she said there's an explosion of flavors. I usually hold expectations low to not be disappointed. But the food did wow me! It was like Indian food on steroids with the flavors. They did not hold back. The palak paneer was really good. The green stuff (spinach) was finely minced and oh so good with the paneer. Even the paneer was pretty flavorful even for such a simple dish. But then again it was smothered in the super flavorful sauce with whatever crazy seasoning they made it in. The lamb curry was super duper spicy. Flavorful, yes. Spicy, check. It was a lingering spice that was bearable but can accumulate and leave you wanting to pour milk over your tongue. It's sort of a hybrid of spicy in its flavor and hotness level. Your taste buds will most definitely explode with this pick. I'm sort of a wimp when it comes to spicy stuff. This was on the borderline of yes, I like it but a maybe on trying it again. There were two container sizes that they offered that were stuffed to the brim: regular and large. These two dishes came with rice so it made everything really filling. The garlic naan was really good too. Though it was a bit overheated as it was hard, but the flavor still shows through.

We got: - Chicken Satay: The chicken itself was so believable, stringy and smoky! And crunchy (though I'm used to satay meat being grilled). The sauce was tasty too- peanut-y, sweet, hint of curry. However, for $8, I'd expect at least 4 skewers. - Shrimp Chow Kway Teow: CKT is one of my favorite noodle dishes ever, and Mamak's version certainly did it justice. The wok hei was so present, the noodles perfectly chewy, and the veggies (snow pea, onion, carrot, bean sprouts) well-cooked. The shrimp was insane, so bouncy and real-feeling. - Olive Fried Rice: Can't say I've ever had olive leaves before, this dish was delightful! Lots of great toppings (tofu, carrot, green bean, mushroom) that gave some textural diversity. - Black Pepper Beef: The black pepper essence was clearly distinguishable, but the sauce was too sweet for me. The beef was truly reminiscent of the actual thing. Lots of tasty veggies again (cauliflower, celery, jicama, carrot, bell pepper). Overall, taste-wise, all of the dishes were great; however, we did not feel portion sizes matched prices. Service could also stand to improve, with regards to attentiveness. To note, the restaurant is self-seating (I wish there was something that said this at the entrance). I talked with the woman at the cashier station after I decided to see if their new lunch menu would satisfy. I ordered the vegetable pakora and the tandoori meat sampler. The lunch entrees come with either a cup of soup or salad, rice and naan. The soup came first followed by the pakora( under appetizers). The lentil soup was very filling. The pakora had a nice assortment of fried items. I don't know what they all were and I asked to take more than half in a doggie bag. My entree came with large bowl of rice and four pieces of hot naan. There was a good assortment of meat but the pieces were buried under onions and green pepper. There was a soup bowl sized portion of the gravy which was medium spicy. I don't know if it was that gravy or the meat, but I could taste a lot of salt. Since I was the first one in at 11:30, when they open, I watched to see how many more would come in looking for the buffet. 2 parties came in after me and both were seeking the buffet. One table left without ordering when I was leaving and they said they would go elsewhere. I asked the woman at the cashier station after I paid, why they stopped the buffet. She said they found they were throwing out a lot of food after their lunch hours ended at 3 so they decided to switch to the limited lunch menu. They felt they could satisfy their customers request for different spice levels and could get their fresh meats and vegetables for each dish. I don't know if business will be better with this format, but I know for me, I much prefer the buffet option because I could try a variety of dishes. The woman at the register said I could bring a group of friends in to order different dishes and we could share. sometimes, that is not a spur of the moment option.
