    Pulao Rice with Chicken

I dropped by Sankranti to order three different Pulao Bowls for my friends and I. It was my first time ordering from here, and the food looked great. Unfortunately, all three bowls were pretty bland. Customer service was lacking, as well. I was surprised and appalled especially by the manager's action (I think she was the manager due to the way she spoke to others). The manager caught the employee - who was filling my bowls - accidentally add an additional spoonful of proteins into each of my bowls. The manager not only scolded him in front of me, but she also took a spoon and scooped out the extra protein. I personally found her behavior and action to be rude.

Friendly service and peaceful atmosphere. The food was ok; just wish it had more spice.

Staff was nice and knowledgeable on what to recommend. Clean inside as well. It was just okay to me, nothing really to rave about, I feel it could've had more of a spice and also more of a taste in general. The samosa was delicious though. The mango lassi was okay, wish it was colder (the use ginger in it and that overpowers the whole drink)

Came by here for dinner the other day with my sister. ***ATMOSPHERE*** Very clean, quiet and nice inside! There is some seating but not tons. It wasn't crowded at all though! ***STAFF*** The staff was beyond friendly! She was so helpful and answered all of our questions. We even wanted some pita, which they didn't have but she recommended another bread that they had instead! And as we left she was asking how we enjoyed the meal and was just very above and beyond / genuinely nice! Definitely makes you want to come back after such a pleasant experience! ***FOOD*** Very good! I really enjoyed my rice and curry! It was very flavorful and the portion size was filling! ***PRICE*** Around 10$ for a meal. Definitely a good price for the size and the quality! It doesn't feel like fast food but it is a quick counter service place. ***CONCLUSION*** Will definitely be a regular here as it is within walking distance from me! If you do need to park, you can park for 2 hours in the parking garage to the right of here for free :)

The chicken tastes like it's been reheated 7 times. Dry as can be. Very stingy with sauces so bowl was super dry as well. Vending machine didn't have one functioning soda, all were completely out of syrup. Inside thermostat read 76 degrees. Literally everything about this place screams cheap owner cutting corners.

Came here for lunch today. This place is kind of close to us, and we could walk here whenever the weather is nice. Sankranti opened up 3 weeks ago, according to the owner. Sankranti can be seen from Hammond Drive on the ground level of the State Farm building. Customers driving to Sankranti enter the underground retail parking garage from Hammond Dr, and then turn left after they've entered the parking garage, take a parking ticket at the gate and then park in the Retail parking section on the B3 level. They can take the stairs or elevator to the B2 (street) level and exit the parking garage/building, and then walk to Sankranti's entrance. The cold wind was blowing into our faces, and we could actually smell the odors of cooking spices coming from Sankranti way before we even got to the entrance, even with the door closed! Sankranti has delicious Indian fast food at very reasonable prices. The menu includes Kathi rolls, curry bowls, Tandoor kabobs and Pulao bowls. With these items, customers can select which ingredients they want in them from a list of choices, letting the employee behind the food counter what they want and watching the employee spoon the food into their bowls. The owner was very nice, and answered our questions about the food. Before we decided what we wanted, we were given an opportunity to sample the spicy chicken and the mango chicken. The spicy chicken was too spicy for me, and the mango chicken was too sweet for me. Fountain drinks available are Coke products. Other fruit based drinks are made fresh and are in a refrigerator behind the front counter. I ended up ordering a medium curry bowl, which came with the bowl, a side and 1 add-on. My bowl choice was the chicken tikka masala, my side was rice and my add-on was two pieces of Malai chicken kabob. R also ordered a medium curry bowl, and his choices were the chicken tikka masala, rice and spicy chicken. Our meals were good; they were very flavorful. I just wish the chicken tikka masala was a little spicier, though. The delicious Malai chicken kabob was a little on the dry side. The food portions were just right. Shout out to Kelvin! He was the one behind the counter who scooped up all of the food that went into the bowl, and we had a short discussion right before we left. He was pretty quick and efficient. The restaurant has indoor seating at round and square tables, and can handle a few small groups at the same time. There are also tall chairs that customers can sit on at the long counters against the window. This is a good place to eat at when you want to enjoy a little variety of good Indian cuisine without paying high prices.

The food was excellent, the service friendly, and the facility was spotless. This was just the respite I needed from my caregiving to my father-in-law at nearby Northside Hospital. I rested and enjoyed

Food: I had the Veg Samosas, Mango Lassi, and the Paneer Tikka Masala Curry Bowl. Everything had flavor and was fresh! I'm surprised that this was the best Indian food I've had in GA even though this is more of a to-go spot (there is indoor and outdoor seating available though). I'm not exaggerating... I've went to Indian sit-down restaurants in Atlanta and was not as satisfied as I am now. I do wish that there were more vegetarian, non-coconut options. Nevertheless, I'm very pleased and will return! Service: Great service. Both employees were polite and helpful both times I've went there. Ambiance: Very clean and welcoming atmosphere. This place is the cleanest restaurant and has the cleanest public restroom I have seen by far. Nice design.

We went to Sankranti for lunch on a weekend. They have a limited menu right now as they opened recently. Food was tasty and you could opt for a really mild to a moderately spicy version of the lunch based on your preference. We tried almost all the vegetarian options that were available and were happy with most of them. The chana masala was especially flavorful! The paratha was a little too chewy for our liking. The owner and the staff were very welcoming and that alone deserves an extra star. Looking forward to visiting this place again once they have a more extensive menu!

absolutely amazing food. 100% will be coming back. I rarely rate places, but wow. And this was just takeout!!

I talked with the woman at the cashier station after I decided to see if their new lunch menu would satisfy. I ordered the vegetable pakora and the tandoori meat sampler. The lunch entrees come with either a cup of soup or salad, rice and naan. The soup came first followed by the pakora( under appetizers). The lentil soup was very filling. The pakora had a nice assortment of fried items. I don't know what they all were and I asked to take more than half in a doggie bag. My entree came with large bowl of rice and four pieces of hot naan. There was a good assortment of meat but the pieces were buried under onions and green pepper. There was a soup bowl sized portion of the gravy which was medium spicy. I don't know if it was that gravy or the meat, but I could taste a lot of salt. Since I was the first one in at 11:30, when they open, I watched to see how many more would come in looking for the buffet. 2 parties came in after me and both were seeking the buffet. One table left without ordering when I was leaving and they said they would go elsewhere. I asked the woman at the cashier station after I paid, why they stopped the buffet. She said they found they were throwing out a lot of food after their lunch hours ended at 3 so they decided to switch to the limited lunch menu. They felt they could satisfy their customers request for different spice levels and could get their fresh meats and vegetables for each dish. I don't know if business will be better with this format, but I know for me, I much prefer the buffet option because I could try a variety of dishes. The woman at the register said I could bring a group of friends in to order different dishes and we could share. sometimes, that is not a spur of the moment option. Because there were only a few tables seated, it was quiet and the staff was checking often to make sure water was filled and if anything was needed.

I also quite enjoyed both the chicken and veggie puff (pretty sure I can eat a whole basket full of those if my stomach permitted). The Mixed Tandoori Platter was great, but I do wish that I knew what was in it. Some of those variety items were pretty tasty and it's a shame that I have no idea what they're called by themselves on the menu. As for everything else, I'd say check out the pictures and the ratings that I gave for each item that I've tried. Hopefully I get to revisit this restaurant in the future (got a long list of menu items that I wanna try).

We were craving something a little different, so we landed on Indian/Bangladeshi cuisine. The reviews made the choice easy, so we headed straight to their Chamblee location. We were greeted right away and seated immediately, which was a great start. Badur (apologies if I'm spelling that wrong!) took care of us the entire time and was fantastic--super helpful with the menu and quick to offer great recommendations. We kicked things off with the Daal Puri: two mini, airy, soft flatbreads stuffed with lentils. They reminded me of a very light, crispy empanada, and I loved them. The accompanying tamarind sauce balanced everything perfectly. Definitely ordering that again on our next visit. For the mains, I went with the butter chicken, which was excellent. The chicken tasted like it had been smoked or grilled before being mixed into the sauce, and that extra flavor made it stand out. My friend ordered the Goat Bhuna, which was also delicious. Both dishes came with Baashmoti polao rice. We also added the Mixed Naan--stuffed with cheese, onion, garlic, and cilantro--and it was incredibly good. Overall, we had an amazing time. Great service, fantastic food, and a really enjoyable vibe. Solid 10/10. We'll definitely be back soon!
