She…read moreknew it was my first time there and recommended what I was pretty much going to order so I took that as a great sign. Sesig seemed a little small but was flavorful. It was very spicy for me but It was an addictive spice. To accompany this, I got an order of their stir fried green webs which had a sweet and savory flavor with a small hint of spice. Highly addictive. I liked these more than the Sesig. I don't mean that as a bad thing, but I'd go back just for these! Ambiance is loud. Lots of people crammed into a smaller space that is optimally situated to accept as many people as possible. Very organized and well oiled. The use of the radios among the loud crowd might not make this a good "date night spot" if you're wanting to talk or if you're fine with your discussion getting lost in the noise. The decorations are very islands inspired. Well worth the experience overall!

After we brought it to their attention they offered for us to sit at the bar, so passing us over with a reservation was acceptable!! The food is good but beware of the racist treatment!! Update for owner: When we're the only black party waiting after arriving early for our reservation and see people who arrived after us be seated before us, with no acknowledgment to us, what else are we supposed to think? No apology in the moment, only dismissed. You weren't at the front when this occurred and even the people who were seated before us, with the same reservation time and arrived after us offered to give us their table when this happened because they also knew what was happening wasn't appropriate! The customer offered! Not your staff! So there is a disconnect with what you expect and what's happening in real time. Train your staff better! Did your staff call to apologize? Yes, but 15 minutes later when we were already seated at another restaurant. (It's Buford Hwy, there's good food everywhere.) I asked to speak to a manager but wasn't allowed and asked for the managers name repeatedly but wasn't given it. So again, where is the disconnect? Your response only continues the issue that there is room for improvement, only denial about a situation you weren't present for. If the other customers saw how we were being treated and offered the table to us, your staff still in that moment did not feel the need to correct the situation and the only difference between the parties was race, then you tell me what were we supposed to think?

For us, this restaurant is the reason to come to Atlanta :) The must-orders on our list are fish hot pot, green beans with pork, spicy chicken, and salt and pepper chicken. We've also had dan dan noodles, cumin lamb, and other menu items. All good! The entrees are large for sharing with a group. We typically order too much on purpose, so we can have another great meal when we roll into a hotel that night. This time we also had peach ice cream. It was delicious and it looked almost too pretty to eat :) And made for hands that get messy-there's a pretty base to catch drips with a wooden popsicle stick. The package said it was made in Second Community, Sihe Village, Fengman Economic Development Zone, Jilin

The whole setup is like a mini food hall with several authentic Chinese spots to choose from--but Chong Qing is where I landed. I ordered the crispy chicken with garlic sauce and swapped the white rice for a side of house lo mein (yes, it's an upcharge, but worth it). Everything came out on real dishes--not to-go boxes--which I loved. You order and pay at the counter, grab a seat, and they bring the food out to you. Now let's talk about the food... DELICIOUS. The spice level was just right--flavorful with a nice kick, but not overpowering. If you like it hotter, you can definitely add more heat, but I was perfectly satisfied as is. The lo mein was really good too--veggies were fresh with a nice crisp (those onions and carrots were hitting!), and everything tasted well-balanced. Only small note: I wish there was a little more meat in the dish, but it didn't take away from the overall experience. And let me say this--the portion size is VERY generous. I ate until I was full and still had just as much left to take home, which is always a win in my book. All in all, I'll definitely be back to try more. If you're in Chinatown Market and not sure what to pick, Chong Qing Hot Pot is a solid choice. 4/5 stars for me!

I've eaten here twice, both times were pop-ups at Pontoon. I do like the ambience there and having…read moresomething available to eat is definitely a plus over when you had to bring in food from elsewhere. The food is ok, had better, but this is not bad and convenient. Most recently I ordered online and was disappointed that some of the toppings I had ordered weren't available that day. That would have been nice to know ahead of time. No concession was made other than letting me know my pizza wouldn't have those items. For me, the really big negative is the service. Not the people, they are friendly, but just the time it takes to get your food. The first time we were there they said it would be about 30 minutes, but it took well over an hour. It was a busy day, so I get the long wait time, but don't tell your customers one time and make them wait more than double that amount of time. The next time I noticed you could order online, so I did that thinking I'd beat the system. The app said my pizza would be ready in 30 minutes. I showed up 10 minutes after that to be safe. When I walked in and said I'd ordered online, they asked what I wanted so they could start making it, then told me it'd be ready in 20 minutes. I couldn't believe they hadn't even started it yet. I sat there until it was ready (about 30 minutes) and thought this is the last time I'll do this. From the time I ordered until the time the pizza was ready was a little over an hour. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I'm probably done with Ghost Pizza unless I know I'm hanging out for a long time and food arrival time isn't important or I hear that these issues have been fixed.

Couldn't have been happier with our choice. Reviews I'd seen online mentioned parking is a bit limited and that the restaurant is frequently busy. So we were prepared for that even though we were going on a Thursday mid morning. I think there was an influx of people celebrating graduations because it was in fact very busy. However we got very lucky with parking and happened to come in right as someone was leaving. I was sure we would have a wait for a table, which of course would have been fine, but actually we were seated immediately! Which was super nice and unexpected. The atmosphere is bustling but not in a bad way. The restaurant itself is adorable and has a lot of character. It feels like you're having breakfast at an old friend's house. The service was great and our food came out in a very reasonable amount of time. I ordered a specialty coffee, I believe it was the almond joy cold brew, and it was delicious. Strong, which is how I like it and not overly sweet. I ordered the chicken biscuit on the waiter's recommendation and it was absolutely the best fried chicken I've ever had. Juicy and crispy. My husband ordered the pimento cheese omelette and was very happy with it, the bacon was thick cut and smoky and flavorful. The pimento cheese grits that came on the side for me were also a stand out, such great flavor. The biscuits are fantastic and the blueberry basil jam that came with my husband's meal was such a nice touch. We will absolutely make a point to come back to Buttermilk Kitchen next time we visit the Atlanta area.

First things first: the Chicken Biscuit. Buttermilk Kitchen's biscuit is on the crunchy, honey-flavored side. I personally prefer fluffier, more buttery biscuits, so this one wasn't my favorite. That aside, the chicken was crispy and well-seasoned and paired well with the cheese grits. If you ever wanted a dry, crunchy version of Homegrown's Comfy Chicken Biscuit, come give this a shot. I also tried the Hash Bowl, which was a bit underwhelming. It was a *lot* of potatoes compared to the eggs and bacon bits, and there wasn't a lot of seasoning other than the bacon. Would rather recommend one of the other options if you end up visiting. The drinks are good as well, would recommend the matcha latte (not too sweet!) and the French Press coffee.
