This is such a great restaurant. The food was amazing. They have ube everything here. I would highly recommend making a reservation. They get packed pretty quick! The staff was incredibly nice as well!
Didn't have a resy, had to wait ~20 mins. Food was delicious and super flavorful, a little too salty at times. Their juices are also super fresh and is a nice palate cleanse in between bites. Service was quick and attentive despite a packed restaurant
Good and flavorful! Really appreciate the clear vegan/veg options on the menu but wished the kare kare and ginataang talong also came with some kind of protein like fried tofu. Not sure if I would come back in the future because as of now, feels like something is missing. They are quite a busy restaurant and the decor is so cute!
Stopped by after work for dinner with friends and didn't need to wait for a table. The inside is decorated very colorfully and tropical. There were a few menu items I was eyeing and ended up ordering the Bistec Baryo. I am not a big fan of stewed meat, and the dish was very salty. We got a slice of Ube Flan cake on the house but the ube flavor wasn't noticeable. This restaurant is on the Michelin Guide but I personally thought it was a little overrated. I'd come back to try other menu items.
I made reservations for a birthday dinner for a group unfamiliar with Filipino food to introduce the cuisine. Upon entering we were greeted with a friendly host. The restaurant was packed out and even with reservations had to wait 30mins to get seated. Inside is cute and cozy but can get loud. We ordered family style as thats truly the only way to enjoy Filipino food. We ordered: Pork lumpia 3/5 Crispy palabok 3/5 Laing 5/5 Ginataang talong 5/5 Crispy pata 4/5 Beef Kare kare 4/5 Sizzling sisig 5/5 We also got an assortment of juices and desserts. Overall, Kamayan represents Filipino food well and I can see many cultures enjoying their rendition.
This place is the best of the best Filipino restaurant. The menu items brings you memories of food that grandma used to to make. Everything is automatically made. We had an awesome server; Lauren. She is adorable, excellent listening skills, very respectful and knowledgeable of the menu items. She was flawless. The ambience of this place is geared towards the Filipino/American community. There are beautiful paintings that you could buy. Beautiful Filipino theme. If you're in Atlanta,I highly recommend you visit this place.
Service was fast and friendly. I got recommendations from a nice lady sitting at the counter. She knew it was my first time there and recommended what I was pretty much going to order so I took that as a great sign. Sesig seemed a little small but was flavorful. It was very spicy for me but It was an addictive spice. To accompany this, I got an order of their stir fried green webs which had a sweet and savory flavor with a small hint of spice. Highly addictive. I liked these more than the Sesig. I don't mean that as a bad thing, but I'd go back just for these! Ambiance is loud. Lots of people crammed into a smaller space that is optimally situated to accept as many people as possible. Very organized and well oiled. The use of the radios among the loud crowd might not make this a good "date night spot" if you're wanting to talk or if you're fine with your discussion getting lost in the noise. The decorations are very islands inspired. Well worth the experience overall!
Kamayan ATL is an absolute gem--and one of the best dining experiences we've had in the Atlanta area. It's easy to see why it's Michelin Recommended. The recognition is thoroughly deserved. Every dish we tried showcased the rich, comforting flavors of Filipino cuisine, prepared with exceptional care and quality. Our favorite was the Eggplant Coconut Curry, which was simply outstanding. We also loved the Pork Lumpia (spring rolls), Chicharrones (crispy fried chicken skins), Pancit Bihon-Canton (noodles), Bistek Baryo (beef), and the Lechon Kawali (braised pork belly). Honestly, there wasn't a single disappointing dish on the table. Don't skip the fresh juices. They're incredibly refreshing, and the Calamansi juice is an absolute must-order. For three people, we spent $127 before tip for two appetizers, one noodle dish, three entrées, two fresh juices, and water (no alcohol). Considering the quality of the food and the overall experience, we thought it offered excellent value. If you're looking for authentic Filipino comfort food, Kamayan ATL belongs at the top of your list. We left thoroughly impressed and already looking forward to our next visit
I always pass this restaurant & usually they are always packed. I'm so happy I was able to come during slower times. When you walk in it smells soo good, and they have the cutest filipino decor everywhere. They place isn't particularly huge. I would recommend maybe getting a reservation just incase they get busy. Service: If you are expecting 5star service, Don't. Come here with good food in mind. Sit, eat, and go home. They weren't rude, but deff wouldn't say it was your Georgia southern hospitality. Nobody greeted us for a good 10 minutes. 4 people saw us just standing in the waiting area. There was a server on the phone who ignored us completely until she was done. I would've liked some acknowledgement. I feel like we weren't greeted at all actually, which is whatever I've been to many asian restaurants like this tbh. I am only mentioning this because I know us southern folks would probably be a little caught off guard. The food was incredible that it makes up for the lackluster service. Our actual server was fine. I think bc of language barrier he didn't really make small talk, but I appreciated the food recs. The food also came out in lightning speed. I was very shocked that the chicken adobo came out in under 10 minutes. Appetizers: We got the BBQ chicken satay which was slightly burned, but so much flavors! I wish I had more sauce they put on the skewers it was so good! We also ordered the chicken chicharron, but I don't think the server caught that so he never put it in. It's Ok tho. We ordered enough food. Entree: We got the Chicken Adobo, and It reminded me of my mom's soy egg stew. Very hearty, but Salty with a capital S! It was still good, but deff needed the rice to eat with it. I wouldn't recommend this dish if you have high blood pressure, but it is VERY hearty, rich and worth to try. The Lechon Kawali was sooo good! It didn't have that gamy pork smell. I don't normally order pork for the smell. You can definitely taste the spices of the pork. It was so good. I didn't really care for the sauce too much. It was just a little on the sweeter side. I was expecting the red fish sauce, but they gave me a green sweet sauce. Dessert: We got the Ube flan, which I did not know it was gonna come with a Ube cake. I love the flan part. It was very rich, but I wish there was more flan to cake ratio. The cake wasn't bad it was just a little dry. The Creme Brulee with Ube jam was good, but I think it would taste better without the Ube jam. It was a little dry almost like red bean paste rather than a jam. It didn't taste bad, I was just expecting a more lighter consistency to match the crème brûlée. Price point: The food was slightly on the pricer side, but it wasn't too bad. Pretty average for ATL restaurants in this economy. The Entrees range 20+ for the most part. If you want some affordable options The two Under $20 they have the Lechon sisig tacos for $13 and Sunday Brunch only: for $18 Bangsilog.
First of all in order to even get a reservation here you need to keep an eye on it online and they open reservations approximately 30 days beforehand and that's as far as it goes. So you need to be diligent in the first place to get a reservation and after arriving, I realized why because the place was completely packed even for an early scheduled dinner. It is located in a huge strip mall with a bunch of other restaurants and a lot of shared parking, but it gets full so you have to get lucky to find a spot and luckily parking is free While the website says they welcome walk-ins I can tell you now that on the weekend for dinner dinners good luck This was our first time here and we ordered quite a few items as you can tell from the photos. While the food is good, I will tell you that it is unique while still authentic for example, the crispy Palabok pancit is quite trendy. The lumpia Shanghai was good and you could actually taste the pork. The dessert of the flan combined cake was also good and not overly sweet. The chicken adobo was a bit on the salty side. And frankly, I thought there would be more chicken. The pork barbecue skewers were good, but not sweet and usually Filipino barbecue is supposed to be more on the sweeter side. The Halo halo was unique in the sense that it had some odd fixings on it such as marshmallows and candy that are not part of a special let alone traditional version of this. It also was missing quite a few ingredients that are what I would deem required. For example, no jackfruit and no sweet beans. I have to say, though this place definitely does justice to the Filipino culture and Filipino cuisine overall it is still a great strong restaurant that I would recommend you go to and check out. I have no other comparisons for the area, but this was definitely well worth the visit. The decor is absolutely incredible as well. Truly authentic and pays good homage to the culture and country. Congratulations to these owners and cooks for all that they have accomplished and so happy to be able to patronize Filipino owners. If I'm back in the area, definitely would come back here and try other dishes and I hope that it is all just as delicious as this meal.
Stopped here for lunch right when I got into Atlanta! It was my first time trying Filipino food family-style, and it was such a cool experience getting to share all the different dishes with friends. Everything we ordered was 10/10--the flavors were all so unique and delicious. Service was really fast, too, and they made sure we were taken care of. Plus, the vibe is super cozy and has an island feel. Definitely a great spot to visit.
I made reservations in advance and my family of three came for my first visit on Sunday evening. Since I was clueless what to order, I read my fellow Yelper recommendations of the green beans and chicken wings which were tasty. Staff was kind and attentive. Our dishes came out quickly and I appreciated the free rice. The mango juice I ordered was refreshing. I really loved the bistro baryo which had a delicious sauce that came with the tender beef which reminded me of a Taiwanese beef dish my mom makes. Kids enjoyed the churros for dessert. The seating was comfortable and the setting was relaxing and joyful. I am glad to try Filipino food for the first time and found it nourishing and satisfying.
Best restaurant in Atlanta! If you're looking for authentic Filipino food, this is the place to go! I can't recommend this place enough. The ube churos were amazing. I was so happy they served the Sisig in a hot plate which gives it a more authentic feel to it. It truly felt like I was eating food from home. The service was amazing and they always made sure we were taken care of despite it being busy. Highly recommend trying this place out!

What a lovely time spent at Kamayan! We had the amazing experience of tasting the Kamayan Style Feast for our group. Food not only looked beautiful, it was absolutely delicious. It was great to have this "buffet" style dinner because I could taste so many different dishes at once. Drinks were also delicious. 5 stars to their staff as well, at all times we were treated with so much care, they were kind and very helpful explaining the dishes, ingredients and flavors. Tropical inspired decor and bright atmosphere. Fairly large dining room with small semi private room off to the side. Service overall quick and efficient. The food was delicious overall. Balanced flavors with a variety of taste notes like spicy , sweet and salty depending on the dish. Portions are a generous size and pricing good for the value. read more

Really enjoyed our visit to Kamayan's new, bigger location right next door! The space feels so much more open and comfortable, with better spacing for the plates and the cabana-style chairs are SO comfy, such a nice touch. They even offered us a complimentary drink for the wait, which was such a thoughtful gesture and definitely appreciated. And the food? Tasty as always. The stars of the night were definitely the Sizzling Sisig and the Bistek, that Bistek was so good!!! Great food, better ambiance, and a really thoughtful experience overall. Best restaurant in Atlanta! If you're looking for authentic Filipino food, this is the place to go! I can't recommend this place enough. The ube churos were amazing. Finally made it to Kamayan ATL for my first visit and honestly I'm still thinking about it. From the second I opened the door, the aroma of fresh spices hit me. I knew immediately I was in for a flavor explosion! The space is stunning and beautiful but so welcoming. I was meeting friends who were already deep into their meals, so I decided to jump right in with some light bites. First I tried the Veggie Lumpia. Who knew a mix of taro, cabbage, carrots, tofu, and sweet potato could taste this good fried up? Total crunch perfection. Ube Crème Brûlée captured my attention immediately. Everyone knows I'm obsessed with ube, so this was a non-negotiable. I already love a good crème brûlée, but adding ube? Game changer. This is officially my favorite dessert combo ever. They insisted I have Halo Halo Espesyal before I leave. I was stuffed, but they insisted I try their most popular treat. It's a literal party in a glass! Shaved ice topped with flan, ube ice cream, milk, tapioca, coconut jelly, jackfruit, banana, and red mung beans. It's colorful, full of surprises, and so refreshing. I was also so delighted to hear that this Michelin-celebrated restaurant does so much for the local community. I love supporting businesses that give back. Kamayan ATL is officially my new favorite spot. Keep up the amazing work. Our new favorite Buford Highway go to....maybe all of Atlanta. This is a 5+. We came in for lunch on a Saturday at 130 PM. Place is packed packed packed from the world over. Just awesome. Everything about this restaurant gives off great vibes. The order: App - Pork Skewers. The flavor was great and spicy. Very healthy portion. Entree. Eggplant Coconut - oh my. One of the best issues I've ever had. Delicious! Bean Noodle Vermicelli (menu has another name for it). Outstanding flavor and mix of meets and vegetables and noodles. The noodle flavor just popped when you took a bite. We will be back!!! Excellent. read more

We got the green beans, shrimp rolls, garlic prawns, pork leg, adobo chicken, and most of the ube desserts. We enjoyed the green beans and adobo chicken. The flavors were unique on both dishes. The other dishes were fine, but nothing really stood out. The ube charros were amazing, definitely get those. The service was ok, we had to keep asking for everything: silverware, plates, napkins, water. read more
Loved our experience here! It was my first time trying Filipino food and it did not disappoint. We started with the shrimp spring rolls and the chicken skewers. Both so good, but oh my gosh those skewers were incredible. I got a brunch dish that had milkfish, rice and fruit. It was original and very good! Ended with ube churros, which we enjoyed but wish tasted more like ube. I would love to come back another time to try more items! read more

Went with a friend for an early dinner around 4:45pm. Didn't realize we needed a reservation, but were able to take two seats up at the bar, which was a fun place to sit and watch various dishes come out of the kitchen. Food ordered: -Pancit Bihon Canton noodles - SO DELICIOUS (will be coming back for this one for sure!) -Sisig tacos - good (warning: a little on the spicy side for white folk like me) -Lumpianisa rolls - okay -Ube Flan Cake - wonderful -Crème Brûlée (has ube at the bottom) - very good -calamansi juice - delicious Calamansi juice, half pineapple - delicious The staff was all very friendly and kind, and even tho the restaurant was busy, they operated smoothly and quickly. The restaurant is super cute inside. Someone was having a birthday in the semi-private space on the side and it is making me consider having my birthday there as well. read more
We used to get Kamayan when it used to be pick up spot. We loved the presentation but felt like the food was always too cold for our liking. Once it opened as a restaurant, they weren't very experienced and food took hours to pick up so we kind of forgotten about the spot but I recently went and they finally got everything straightened out. Food came out fast, service was good, and the food was warm and delicious that I cant wait to go back! Loved their veggie curry dish and my favorite lechon fillappino dish. A few years on from their first brick-and-mortar opening next door, newly expanded Kamayan ATL continues to be a gem for Buford Highway. The Michelin recognition is in everything - from the detailed, personal touches of the decor, the flavors and colors of each entree, and the warm yet attentive service each and every time you walk through the door. Visited this popular Filipino place with an old friend who I haven't met in 3 years. It's was a full house when we visited on a Saturday, just as we expected, but being seated by the window means we had a bit more space and privacy to talk. We got the chicken adobo and sizzling lechón sisig, and both liked the sisig over the chicken leg. The chicken leg was a bit too salty, and tends to tire out after a few bites. The sisig is a nice spicey kick to it and is great with rice. We also got the spring rolls (not pictured) and they were crispy. Overall would greatly recommend is you are craving for yummy Filipino cuisine in Atlanta! read more

Green beans - 5/5 delicious. Unique flavors citrusy, sweet and spicy. Really enjoyed Lumpia - 5/5 perfect for what it is. Simple and really well done Vegan noodles - 4/5 really well seasoned. This restaurant is in the same plaza as many other popular businesses, but the parking lot is huge so it shouldn't be too hard to find a spot. We made a reservation for 5 people at Kamayan for a Thursday night, and while not as busy as a weekend, it was still very busy. We had a nice booth spot in the smaller room in the back for our group, and we ordered several dishes. I personally lean to giving this place a 3.5/5, but I always prefer rounding up then rounding down. We definitely had some favorite dishes. The kaldereta was definitely the fan favorite of the group. It had such a good spice kick to it, and the tomato stew was so good. The second favorite for me was the Bicol express because I really enjoyed the curry of it. I personally didn't like the laing because I don't like too strong of a coconut flavor, and it was pretty obvious in it. My friends really enjoyed it though and really liked the taro leaves in it. I would the middle dishes were the pompano and lumpia. They weren't bad, but they weren't memorable. The misses for the group were definitely the desserts and the kare kareng. The kare kareng was bland and just didn't have much flavor to it compared to the other dishes. The desserts were disappointing for us. The ube caramel brulee was lacking the ube flavor. The ube flavoring in the churros and the puto personally gave a bit of a playdoh taste to us, so we didn't enjoy it too much or even really finish it. A feast for the Gods. No forreal, everything was delicious. And I mean EVERYTHING. Do I have a favorite? Not necessarily. But I will say, mix up your textures. If there's a stew that's really good, add one of the crispier proteins for the most beautiful bite. Like the Bicol express? BOMB! Add a chicharron on top of it?? Life changing. The shrimps were so good and when we had leftover sauce, we poured that right on top of the palabok for a little extra UMPH. We tried almost everything on the menu and i really want to go back to try the rest. As a picky Filipino, it was all authentic. Felt like home. The flavors were amazing and the textures were on point. Seriously, no notes. Since we celebrated a birthday, we got a complimentary ube flan! We also added on other desserts such as the ube churros and crème brûlée with ube halaya at the bottom. FREAKING AMAZING. And our server was so kind, attentive, remembered the family I was with because of the last time they visited. My brother told me that it was a restaurant that was totally my aesthetic and is the kind of place I would open, especially because of all the art on the walls and super cute decorations, but I didn't believe him until I was there and the portrait above our table looked exactly like me LOL. I was going to give this place a three because it is so hard to find a time to get a reservation since this place is a popular. In the end, I decided that they can't help the fact that they are such a great place to eat. The food is diverse and authentic. The flavors are full and rich. The service her is impeccable, the team is always there to help you decide your menu selections. During this visit, I enjoyed the flavorful green beans. They were crisp and fresh. The meat dish went very well this the steamed rice, which is unlimited. The fried pork was prepared perfectly and the Chicken Adobo was well paired with the steamed rice since is was a great way to soak up the sauce. If you want a quiet, romantic location, this isn't the place. This place is loud and busy! People are coming and going so make sure you're careful when you get up from your chair. Went there twice - loved the atmosphere. The Calamansi (type of citrus) juice is a must for me! I had it 4 times total (I know.. it's a lot). Also an absolute must and my #1 dish recently - the eggplant curry. If you're a protein bro and resistant to get get vege dishes - trust me you still want this one. Just get some extra wings (which are bangers too). I like the idea of the fried fish but as a seafood snob it was average (usually I hate in seafood). The noodles (one with the bean) was excellent. I tried also two desserts with Ube - flan and crème brûlée. Both so good but brûlée was the winner for me. Service is good - just a bit busy so you'll have to make a reservation most likely for a high demand time and expect rushing waiters. read more
I've been interested in Filipino food for a long time, specifically sisig. However, I was never brave enough to visit a Filipino restaurant alone. Recently, on a visit to Atlanta, I dined with a friend and his Filipino girlfiend - they suggested we meet at Kamayan. Kamayan is in a bustling plaza on Buford Highway, but there was plenty of parking. There was a large crowd of people outside this venue, and plenty of folks standing around INSIDE too. These were good signs. My friends and I were seated immediately (they had a reservation - I suggest making one, given the crowd there). I happily listened to my friend's GF make recommendations for food (she fully supported me ordering sisig). We ordered a variety of appetizers and we each had our own entree. The apps were OK, nothing really stood out to me. But the sisig was unreal! It came in a cast iron skillet (which was super hot! I received a warning, lol) and it was unmixed. It had a huge spoon in it though which made it easy to stir up. I popped the sisig on some rice and dug in. It was absolutely amazing! I'd have eaten more of it, but I was full from the appetizers and sampling other folk's food. The flavors of sisig were beyond my imaginings. What's even better is the dish, sisig, improved over the course of several days. I reheated it 2 days later and it was even more amazing. I'm definitely going to get Filipino food again, sooner than later. Kamayan itself is a cute space, but seemingly on the small side. I heard they're expanding though. Service was great! The owner came by specifically to speak to my friends. Good all around. Highly recommend. read more
It was a hot day and air conditioning was not working probably in the restaurant. The food was okay, nothing was wrong, but nothing was worth writing home about. We ordered BISTEK BARYO the braised beef slices with Philippine sauce which was quite salty, and LECHON KAWALI which was quite greasy. read more
I've eaten here a few times already, but I knew I'd be back for their Kamayan style feast, so held off on writing a review. Unsurprisingly, it was great! The set menu was chosen to give everyone a taste of the different regions/islands of the Philippines, and we were told a little bit about what Kamayan means. Traditionally, it's meant to be eaten by hand, but we were given gloves, utensiles, plates, and bowls to eat with. I'm glad that I was able to try more of their dishes, especially the eggplant curry, since I personally wouldn't have thought to order that (not a fan of eggplant, but you barely notice it here!). You can taste the coconut, and it made the curry very creamy. Many found it to be their favorite dish, though I still prefer their beef kare kare or Odessa's dinuguan more. Of course, the classic chicken adobo was also served in the feast, and it's still as delicious as ever. The chicken was juicy and tender, the marinade not overly salty either. I didn't take enough photos to put names to the dishes I had, but I do remember having their pork belly, which was a bit inconsistent. Some pieces were overly salty, and some were really dry, but overall, I liked them and would look for it on the menu another time to order it myself. They have many small plates, and while all of them are good, I just LOVE their baguio beans. I would gravitate and order them almost every time. The lumpias (any filling) are also good, but chicharrons are better for sharing and snacking with. The skewers are nice, and if you don't want to order an entree since it's a larger meal, skewers are a good choice. Now... I'm not sure if I would do the feast again ($80/person), but I will definitely be back. I recommend making a reservation though if you don't want to wait ~30 minutes before being seated. read more
Been wanting to try this spot for so long and finally got around to it! Made a reso via Resy for Sunday lunch. We were seated right away and I loved the bright and lively atmosphere, decor was on point, from the paintings on the walls down to the choices in plates and branded cups. We ordered the fish sauce wings, pork skewers, chicken adobo, and beef kare kare. Came with a big bowl of rice that was more than enough for my husband and I. I enjoyed everything, although my husband's fave was definitely the skewers, super flavorful although too salty for me. I would say my fave was the beef kare kare with tender beef and a delicious peanut curry. Def need to eat everything with plain rice! Wings were good - also crispy and flavorful but would try a different app next time. Chicken adobo was super tender but didn't taste like other adobos we've had. Maybe it was too elevated? Lol For dessert we ordered the ube flan. Overall good but wished the cake was more moist, it was a bit dry. Service was great throughout, I think this restaurant is definitely worth a try if you've been curious! read more

I've heard so much about this place and am glad I finally got to try it! I've never been to a Filipino restaurant and this was a great first experience! The service was great and the food came out super quick and was super fresh! The lumpias are a must get, they're so crispy and are the perfect appetizers to share. The fried pork belly omg, what's not to like? It was so flavorful and so perfectly crispy! I had never seen chicken adobo come as a full chicken with the bones before so that surprised me but the meat fell right off the bones! Again, it was so flavorful and so juicy! I also loved the tamarind pork bone soup we got, it was EXTREMELY sour though so if you're not into that I wouldn't get it. I would definitely come here again and try other dishes cause everything was just so fresh and so tasty! Highly recommend the pork belly for sure! read more

Food was really good! I do wish we had asked the waiter for his suggestions cause I think we could have ordered something we enjoyed more. We got 3 entrées 1 appetizer and 2 desserts and it was about $110. My favorite thing we got was the Ube flan cake for dessert. Only downside was it was SUPER loud, and super packed. Glad they're keeping busy but it made it so hard to have conversations with the people you were eating with. read more
