The higher your hopes are the harder they fall. And my hopes were once as high as the estrellitas in the sky. I first heard about this spot when I approached a formerly trusted colleague about the cuisine of his culture (Filipino food). Having never had either Kamayan or Estrellita, I asked him what he thought about both restaurants. He told me hands down Estrellita was far superior and talked up the authenticity of the food as well as the restaurant in general. A friend and I were very excited to try this spot after this excellent review. We thought it would be a fun treat to share around the Thanksgiving holidays. As we were at work near by we doordashed our order. The only plausible explanation for what ensued is that our doordasher must have seen how delicious our food was and kept the order for themselves and replaced it with their own attempt at Filipino cuisine. Because the disconnect between what we were told to expect and what we got was too great. The food looked delicious but truly was nothing to get hype about. There were 3 lumpia's and my friend and I got one each. Neither of us wanted the last one and kept trying to give it to each other. The meat was dry and made me wonder who gave the adobo its "award" was the award driest meat ever? The experience was underwhelming. I try to judge takeout with a grain of salt but it seems the chef may have used too many grains as the food was overly salty. This restaurant might present differently in person. The service and atmosphere might be so incredible it has you thinking the food is amazing. Unfortunately, I only ordered takeout and did not dine in. And now, I probably never will :(

Super slow during off peak hours . Took about 50 minutes for the dishes to be ready. Server tried his best....clean and hip unisex restaurant though. Food is mediocre but good enough for atl. Always rooting for good Asian flare in atl. Keep it up

Estrellita is a tiny Filipino restaurant in the heart of Atlanta. I love Filipino food so I have been wanting to trying this place. Luckily, a friend was able to pick up some food so that is how I got to try it. I cannot speak to the service or ambiance, but I assume both were good based on other reviews! I got to try the Filipino Chicken BBQ and Inihaw Spare Ribs. The Filipino Chicken BBQ was SO good! The chicken was marinated well (smokey and savory... reminded me of typical Asian flavors I have eaten at home before) and very tender. It also came with a sour vinegar-like sauce which paired well with the chicken and rice. The Inihaw Spare Ribs were honestly delicious too and I am not even a big fan of pork spare ribs. I enjoyed the marinade and there was a lot of meat on the spare ribs! I definitely want to visit this restaurant in person next time to try the other foods! Filipino is so good so go get some!!!

Estralita is a cute little Filipino gem that really hits the mark. The food was great across the board, and the sinigang soup was a standout delicious, full of rich flavors, and exactly what comfort food should taste like. The chicken skin was another win: crispy, flavorful, and honestly addictive. A charming spot that delivers big on taste.

Delicious Filipino cuisine in a charming space. I recommend the lechon kawali, coconut rice, fries, and chicken skin. Everything was well-cooked. Excellent service as well.

This might be my favorite restaurant in Atlanta, but it is small so keep in mind you may have to be willing to take things to go if they are full in their little hole in the wall location. I think every single thing I have tried has been amazing, from their sauces to their rice, plus, almost everything on the menu is Gluten free (it is noted on the few that are not) The people who work here are so helpful and both explain the food and give recommendations for everything on the menu. I literally love coming here.

My friend and I came here on a Friday night and there was only one other person dining. We started with the lumpia. The sauce was very vinegary. $9 for only 3 pieces and it was just alright. We got the pork adobo and lechon. Each entree comes with 2 sides so we ordered all the sides and shared everything. The pork adobo was very salty. The lechon was really crispy and juicy. The coconut rice was my favorite side. I like Kamayan on Buford Highway better.

Once again, my mind is blown by what Atlanta considers to be high quality or good experiences! I went in at 5 o'clock to eat dinner, I was never greeted. I walk in and they ask if I'm picking up or place in an order. There was never a hello never a welcome in. So I said I need to place an order. I placed my order she tells me 10 to 15 minutes and so I sit down . I wait a couple minutes and I'm like hey can I get a water which she gets me. After 28 minutes of nobody saying anything to me nobody updating me. Nobody checking in nothing I asked the guy like hey where's my food at? He says oh let me check. I said what he told me 10 to 15 minutes. It's been 30. He comes back telling me it's gonna be at least another seven minutes. So basically would've been a 40 minute wait after being told it was a 10 to 15 minute wait. So I tell him just refund me my money back because I don't have time to continue to wait. Then after he refunds, he said oh well it's almost ready now. So I said we back up what you have so I can go. He bags up half the order and I'm like well. Where's the rest of it? Oh well, you can't have the rest of it. So the main entrée that I actually ordered I did not even receive. So I take what partial food they give me which apparently just came up but as soon as I walk outside, I opened the container and none of the food is even hot. So it's clearly just been sitting back there getting cold while they did whatever they did. As I'm walking out the door, one of the owners starts badmouth of me before the door even closes. So I turned around and tell him not to talk about me as I'm walking out the door as if I'm in the wrong for being upset that it took almost 3 times longer than I was told. It was never updated until I confronted them about it. So overall, absolutely horrible customer experience, horrible dining experience, and I haven't even tasted the food. Again, the food was not hot or fresh at all. The ribs were extremely dry, the pork belly had no seasoning without dipping it into the sauce that comes with it, and with not being hot, it leaves a nasty mouth feel because all the fat and grease on it. The best thing might've been the chicken and even that was below average. Oh and let's not forget get the coconut rice that was so over cooked it was mush. I took one bite and it was like a mushed glob of starch. I couldn't even manage it enough to chew/swallow the one bite. They definitely leave a lot to be desired not only in customer service but in Food as well. Honestly, as far as customer service, that's probably the worst I experience and the eight years I've been in Atlanta.

It's always a great experience dining in at Estrellita Filipino Atlanta! The space is beautifully curated and cozy. The food is absolutely delicious, has amazing flavors and always has me craving more, even after I'm full. Hope and Walter are dedicated to their craft and are so earnest about introducing Filipino cuisine to all communities. I love how they pour their heart, soul and energy into making Estrellita's a great cultural experience, beyond having a great meal! Their pride, talents, and passion for Filipino culture is definitely palpable at Estrellita Filipino, Atlanta. Once you've had your first meal there, it feels like you're family!

I do not have any pictures of the food- but let me tell you ONE OF BEST RESTAURANTS. The pork adobo and the chicken skewer were amazing. Every dish was exceptional. The service was excellent. They accommodated our group of 10 (without a reservation). Don't leave here without trying UBE ice cream. Don't miss out having food here. Street parking.

Crispy Chicken Skins so good and crispy. It comes with a vinegar based sauce with peppers. Everyone at the restaurant orders this item

The food is amazing. They really bring the roots from the Philippines. What is better is the service. The owners Hope and Walt are amazing. Whenever they are in the restaurant they are serving and everyone who returns frequently knows them. The food is the best, my favorite is the longaniza and my husband loves the chicken skins. It's very intimate restaurant ambiance so if you plan on going make sure to make a reservation or call ahead because it can get busy with this popular neighborhood gem

    Turon with Sorbetes
    Valerie Y.

I was drawn to Estrellita because of their recent Michelin recognition, and I am glad to have come! The restaurant is in a very small space but the decor is intentional and the space is cozy. The staff is really awesome - we asked to take a picture of the Michelin award and the owners themselves came out to chat with us! We learned a lot about the process and their hopes for the restaurant's future. The food was great. They were running a promotion where the Chicharron Chicken Skin was on the house, I really loved having it as an appetizer! We got a combination of meats - the Inihaw Na Baboy, Short Ribs, and Chicken skewer. I thought the Inihaw was the stand out item. It's wonderfully juicy and grilled so well, I'm so glad we got this over the Lechon (wasn't in the mood for fried pork belly). The short ribs and chicken skewer were just okay in comparison, I felt like they weren't as special. At the end we decided to try the Turon w/ Sorbetes, it was a cool combination of textures and flavors. It's cool that they make the ube ice cream in house :) I'd definitely want to come back next time I'm in Atlanta. Need to try the Pork Adobo!

    Filipino CHICKEN BBQ Skewers

I decided to check out Estrellita with some friends for a Tuesday night dinner. Parkingwise, there's residential street parking down the street from the restaurant. The restaurant itself is suuuper tiny so we were lucky to get a couple bar seats along the wall. Delivery seemed to be super popular here too. To drink, I had a Tanduay rum & coke which was super refreshing and summery. My friends and split an order of lumpia which came with 3 rolls. The lumpia was so yummy and I loved the vinegar-based dipping sauce it came with. For my main, I got the Filipino Chicken BBQ. The chicken was SO TENDER, practically falling off the skewer. The fries also were made so well and the right amount of crispness. They came with a dipping sauce as well that was delicious. The staff was also super friendly, even with how busy they were. Overall, great spot and definitely Michelin guide worthy!

Also an absolute must and my #1 dish recently - the eggplant curry. If you're a protein bro and resistant to get get vege dishes - trust me you still want this one. Just get some extra wings (which are bangers too). I like the idea of the fried fish but as a seafood snob it was average (usually I hate in seafood). The noodles (one with the bean) was excellent. I tried also two desserts with Ube - flan and crème brûlée. Both so good but brûlée was the winner for me. While the food is good, I will tell you that it is unique while still authentic for example, the crispy Palabok pancit is quite trendy. The lumpia Shanghai was good and you could actually taste the pork. The dessert of the flan combined cake was also good and not overly sweet. The chicken adobo was a bit on the salty side. And frankly, I thought there would be more chicken. The pork barbecue skewers were good, but not sweet and usually Filipino barbecue is supposed to be more on the sweeter side. The Halo halo was unique in the sense that it had some odd fixings on it such as marshmallows and candy that are not part of a special let alone traditional version of this. It also was missing quite a few ingredients that are what I would deem required. For example, no jackfruit and no sweet beans. I have to say, though this place definitely does justice to the Filipino culture and Filipino cuisine overall it is still a great strong restaurant that I would recommend you go to and check out. I have no other comparisons for the area, but this was definitely well worth the visit. The decor is absolutely incredible as well. Truly authentic and pays good homage to the culture and country. Congratulations to these owners and cooks for all that they have accomplished and so happy to be able to patronize Filipino owners. If I'm back in the area, definitely would come back here and try other dishes and I hope that it is all just as delicious as this meal.

Sizzling Sisig Comes with chopped pork, sour-style dressing, sunny side up egg, and rice. Best part is letting it sit longer on the hot plate so the pork gets slightly crispy and more flavorful. Adding extra lemon really enhances the taste. Only downside, the rice stayed too long on the plate and became a bit too hard to chew. Tokwa't Baboy Crispy pork with fried tofu in a sour soy-fish sauce. The pork was a bit fatty for my preference, but the crispy skin was really good. This time I got the Grandma's BBQ Pork Noodles and the Salted Egg Yolk Shrimp Garlic Noodle. I was really excited to try both since they both sounded so good. Ultimately the Grandma's BBQ Pork Noodle was a little underwhelming - the noodles themselves weren't very flavorful, and the BBQ pork was on the drier side. The pork did have decent flavor, and all the toppings/side items (wontons, fried egg, bok choy) were great, but all in all fell a little short of my hopes. The Salted Egg Yolk Garlic Noodles had better flavor, but I could've used even more garlic and butter. The shrimp definitely carried the salted egg yolk flavor, but the fried batter was a bit soggy/soft in my opinion. I wished it was crisper.
