The dinner reservation required a $20 deposit, which is only charged if you no show. Parking is street or deck (not validated); I spent $14 in the Azure deck. The decor and vibes were nice; there was a DJ playing music on Saturday night. The food was prepared pretty quickly. I had the Kung Katium appetizer and Pad Pong Karee (yellow curry, lump crab, shrimp, peppers). Both were okay; my typical is Panang curry and I wish I had stuck to it or fried rice. My entree (Pad Pong Karee) didn't come with rice or noodles; I had asked my server, but she didn't seem to know the menu well. After the entree got to the table, I had to get a side of rice. My friend enjoyed her entree and drinks. She had the Mama Kee Mao. She said her drinks were good and sweet. She liked the lychee tini and she said the Royal Emerald tasted like a Jollyrancher. Let's get into the overall experience below: Ambiance: 4/10 (entranceway is beautiful and a great photo opportunity, but the vibe is very quiet and a bit low energy) Service: 10/10 (server was extremely sweet and service was quick!) Drinks: 8/10 (good drinks, but nothing super memorable in regard to taste. Love the ornate presentation though and definitely added to the experience) Food: 4/10 (all food was okay but could be personal preference. The curry was sweet and savory as most panang curry is and the duck had a crispy like outer shell with a chewy inside. I thought it was flavorful and I think it was a good portion size. It may look small but I was able to take some to go. Most of my table ended up getting the basil fried rice which I heard different opinions about. Some said it was too salty and dry and ended up ordering a side of yum yum sauce to go with it ($4 extra which was a bit weird but go off). Others thought it was fine as is. My boss took our office here for Admin day! As soon as I saw this place my eyes lit up. It was so pretty. The abundance of flowers and decorations just draws you in. The bartender did not play any games when it came to those drinks. Good and strong just how I like it. We ordered a variety of appetizers. From calamari to veggie rolls. Everything was very good. A fantastic neighborhood find I've walked by this place at least a dozen times and have never stopped in. It's usually because I'm making a B line to the gay clubs right up the street and Thai food, during the intense period of pregame inebriation, is usually at the back of my mind I finally decided to stop in on a Sunday after a much needed weekend in. Needless to say, I had the best Thai food I've ever had here. I always sit at the bar in a new place because the bar is the social epicenter of any properly managed restaurant with a liquor license. Upon arrival, I quickly received many tips and suggestions from the bartender on what to eat and drink. I decided to go with the atypical and BOT signature Panang duck and salmon, and also ordered the Thai classic, highly revered chicken satay. The food is absolutely breathtaking. The chicken satay blew all other satays I've had out of the water - and believe me, I go to a Thai place in every city I visit. The Panang duck left me feeling a level of pleasure that was indescribable. I honestly wish I took better photos - because I felt dirty being in public after the absolute blissful ecstasy I felt after digging into that dish. The cocktails are original and interactive, and pair with the food seamlessly!! I was seriously impressed with cheeky monkey and lychee martini. Also who doesn't love a little bit of gold flakes in your drink?? Whenever it comes out the other end, I feel like a king. If you don't, than there's something wrong with you. It is clear this place is popular for the vibes and the food. The service is...interesting. We were seated promptly at the time of our reservation. Of course my chair was the most awkwardly placed in the middle of the walkway and so the amount of people who bumped into my chair was crazy. And because of how the seats were shaped, they couldn't slide further up under the table. To eat, my partner and I shared the lobster and shrimp pad Thai and fried calamari. It was so good! It's wild however that the only pad Thai they have is this though. It's not that large of a dish but is super expensive so had I been hungrier, it wouldn't have sufficed as a shareable meal. For Atlanta the price is crazy but I enjoyed the food. Forgot the drink I had but it's pictured below and I liked it. So the issue with the service is the fact that ONE person at our table had barely taken her last bite and the servers were ON US to try to clear our plates, even those who were clearly not done. To be honest, I personally didn't mind it as much which is why I'm giving a 4 star instead of 3, but that's only because I eat super fast so I didn't mind. But I forget that not everyone eats fats so it felt rude to try to rush them to finish. Then when the check came, they charged us the mandatory tip PLUS another 18%, which, had one of us not noticed it, we would have all tipped 38%. Which is another wild mistake to make. Honestly, the way Atlanta has been put on blast since Keith Lee's visit, I'm not shocked about this experience but still, the rushing and the bill mistake was a lot. I came here to celebrate a friend's birthday, and left feeling meh. Location and Parking Located in Midtown, valet parking is available, or there is self parking in a deck next to the restaurant. Valet is $20 on weekends and $10 on weekdays. Venue and Atmosphere The restaurant is very aesthetic and "instagram worthy." Lots of fake flowers, grass walls, and neon signs. The bathrooms are spacious and clean. A DJ plays music all night, but not so loud that you have to scream at the person across the table from you. Service Service was prompt, courteous, and efficient. Food and Beverages This is where they lost a few stars. The alcoholic beverages were all very sweet. I normally like sweet drinks but I don't want to feel like I'm drinking juice instead of a margarita. The Mama Kee Mao noodles were decent, but not better than anything I could've cooked at home. The crab fried rice was bit dry and desperately needed some sauce; when I pointed this out to our server, she offered to bring me some sauce for a $2 charge. I've never heard of this but in order to enjoy my dinner I agreed to the fee. The sauce helped but only marginally. Overall I was not satisfied with the food and beverages here. The food was fresh, flavorful, vivid in color with great portion sizes. I noticed a lot of the girlies on Instagram sharing their dining experiences so I had to grab one of my friends to see for myself. Upon walking in, I was greeted by ambient lighting, floral arrangements and lush greenery, perfect for Instagram- worthy photos. I chose to dine in on a Friday night at 5pm. We were sat instantly and attended to by our waitress Lindsey. For my meal, I selected the Pad Sew and steamed dumplings, complemented by the Millionaire cocktail. The Pad Sew featured an extra crispy fried chicken breast that harmonized beautifully with the noodle dish. The Steamed Chicken Dumplings were simply exquisite, and the soy chili sauce elevated their flavor. With six dumplings, even if, like me, you prefer not to share, you'll find the portion more than enough. The Millionaire cocktail flavors of passion fruit, citrus, sake, mercer, and print whiskey, adorned with edible gold and garnished with dehydrated grapefruit. The presentation was aesthetically pleasing, and the aromatic blend of ingredients compelled me to order a second one. My friend ordered the crab fried rice along with the Por Pia Tod appetizer which was stuffed with crispy vegetables, glass noodles along with a sweet chili sauce. Due to time constraints, I couldn't sample their dessert offerings. However, I eagerly anticipate exploring their dessert menu on my next visit. Man, I had a good time! This spot is kind of new and I happen to stumble across it because I was going to a spot next door but I got to the spot early so I did a little walk. A little fancy and frilly for my taste, but good execution, good presentation. I had to step out to go grab somebody and I was going for a while. I left my card and my umbrella there and he saved all that and put my drink aside for me. I was going for probably maybe 15 minutes or so, which is a long time people are waiting to sit out at the bar, but he took care of me. So they have a DJ on Fridays and Saturdays I believe. Which is a really good vibe if you're looking to just get some music in the background. You'll come in the door and you see the left hostess stand and the right DJ that you can sit where you see fit. Good ambience All the way around. It's very tropical in floral. Even out around the bar and the ceiling, but it was really fun to sit and enjoy the views. They had TVs there as well so you can watch a game or two I guess, but this isn't this type of spot that you would go if you're trying to watch your team play necessarily. It's not a sports bar. I didn't go for any food and I really feel like I did myself a disservice by doing that but next time I definitely will because the menu definitely ask some heavy hitters on it. This place just opened and it is so good! Just off Piedmont park, with both indoor and outdoor seating. They have very little street parking near by but they do have a parking garage on the same block. The food here so delicious, in our group of 9, every single person was happy with everything we got, from appetizers to main dishes. Our waiter (Andy) was super nice and funny. Great service the whole night, especially because we had a large group we were super happy he was so easy going. The inside is brand new with a nice bar and cool lighting set up, there is probably equal inside and outside seating because they are on the corner. The smoked duck panang curry is a little on the sweeter sides of curry. Almost every agreed their mild spicy was not very spicy so if you like spicy opt for a higher level! I decided to check out Bar of Thailand (B.O.T.) after conducting a photo session recently and I was thoroughly pleased. There wasn't that many people inside the quaint restaurant for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon which was great until the obnoxious customers came in (basically no etiquette but this wasn't a fault of the employees). Other than that, I loved the vibe inside this restaurant trendy yet quaint, close knit. The decorations and layout was setup nicely. My waitress was great. Very patient and able to answer questions about the menu. I ordered steamed dumplings (which was magnificent), pad Thai (which was excellent and I had enough for two more meals) and a Long Island lychee tea (which was very refreshing for a hot summer day). As for parking, you may find street parking on 11th street or possibly a few spots on Piedmont. Street parking is free on Sunday's but you must pay on the other days. There is also a parking garage where you can only enter off of 11th street right now (well at least when I went). The food was good but we reserved a place outside and it was COLD, and windy, but we were told the place would be heated covered and have the same vibe as inside.
