The last time I came to Tacos La Villa was over 8 years ago, so I was very surprised that the dining area had more than doubled in size since then. Apparently the retail space next to theirs became available, so did the smart thing by acquiring it, and, man, are they more popular and much busier! We had come here to eat lunch before the last Braves home game of the 2024-2025 baseball season, and the place was busy! Parking was easy to find in the big parking lot that serves all of the businesses in this outdoor shopping center. About 3/4 of the tables were taken by customers either enjoying their food or waiting for their number to be called. The restaurant was nearing capacity with people talking loudly and enjoying a non-Braves baseball game showing on the big monitor at the bar. We got in the long line waiting to order. Fortunately, the line went past the big menu, so we were able to pick something during the short time we were in line. The ladies at the front counter taking orders were very quick and efficient. The both of us each ordered the taco plate, a bargain at $7.59, that included three tacos, rice, refried beans and a drink. We both happened to order the same exact meal - with carnitas tacos, and an horchata to drink. Anyone ordering this meal can get their choice of meats, including carne asada (steak), pastor, carnitas, and others. Overall, the menu has so many choices, tacos, enchiladas, burritos, flautas, seafood dishes, etc., on it that anyone could each here every day and easily not have the same combination of food within a year. The service is great and so are the prices! Even when the place is packed with lots of to go orders and customers who stay and eat in, the workers in the kitchen and the front counter keep bringing out the food orders for people to get from the front counter. Fountain drinks can be refilled by customers at the drink dispenser away from the front counter, and customers can also get various sauces and toppings (diced onions, cilantro, sliced radishes, jalapeños, and more at a station inside the restaurant. So when I looked on Yelp and realized that we were across the street from Tacos La Villa that boasted a 4.5-star rating, it was an easy choice. Tacos La Villa is located in a large plaza alongside Goodwill and another fave of mine, Pirate's Boil. There are dozens of parking spaces in the lot so struggling to find where to park is nonexistent. We grabbed a spot across from the front door and headed on in. Upon entry, I was shocked at how packed it was in there! There were a number of tables filled with guests eating or waiting for their food, they even had a full bar. Despite the crowd, it wasn't incredibly loud, even with the music being played in the background and the order numbers being called out. Navigating to where the line may usually begin was confusing but I parked myself in front of the large, colorful menu and locked in. There are so many great options without being too overwhelming, along with some really great prices. I decided to go with two taco plates that included steak, chicken and fish tacos. I paid about $20 and wasn't too mad about that at all. As I waited for my order to be completed, I was so excited to turn and see that they had a large condiment bar in the middle of the restaurant. Yum! I'm a sauce lover, so this is right up my alley. The condiment bar included radishes, limes, green and red salsas, onions + cilantro and more. I went crazyyy and stocked up on a number of yummy additions for our tacos. After realizing that there were a few people waiting for their food in front of me, I decided to indulge in the bar by grabbing a Presidente beer and taking a seat. As I was drinking my cerveza, my name was called only a few sips in and I was on the move. Once I got home and we dug into our tacos, I really understood what the hype was really about! I definitely want to come here again and try their tacos! You can tell this place is good also because when I went, it was SO crowded there was nowhere to stand. The beef was so juicy and tender.
