In somewhat of a niche of its own. Not the best but definitely not bad. Simple menu of taco, burrito, or bowl options but with enough variety. Order first and then self seating with server bringing out food. Indoor and outdoor (covered) seating with 3 cute 2-3 seater cubbies for a date or privacy catching up with friends. Free but limited parking with entrance's from main (Howell) or side street that feels like a one way with it being difficult for 2 cars to pass at once. Pricing is on the higher end compared to other taco locations for the portions received. The food is good with the corn and guacamole being hits. The service was excellent from those taking orders to bring out food. Margaritas were also good.

This is my favorite place in Atlanta. I bring everyone here- the food is amazing, the service is top tier- and the new Happy Hour Deal cannot be beat. Shoutout to the whole Howell Mill team (including Levi) for a great time!

Never been inside we just pull up and order outside. Great authentic tacos. No frills in my opinion.

I went to tuza taco on a Thursday lunch and the yummy portions were just the right amount to fill me up. The ambience in the restaurant was very relaxed with the music at a steady volume and fun beachy colors painting the walls. The service was so kind and considerate without feeling overwhelming. As for the food, I went for a veggie and steak taco. I added some lime as well as the queso we got as an appetizer and they both tasted so delicious. Free parking is available via a few spots in the front as well as around the back !

Nice spot for outside seating. The food is not bad , not my favorite Mexican spot in Atlanta, but it's worth checking out.

The food here is excellent! Formerly from Southern California, it's tough for us to find Mexican food in Georgia that's as good as it is out west. This is our fave we've found in Georgia. Last Thursday night, the cashier rang up our order incorrectly. Among other things we ordered, we had one grilled fish taco and one fried fish taco. She rang them both up as shrimp and we didn't realize until they brought them to our table. The kitchen promptly started correcting the error. We were late getting there due to traffic, so we were rushed getting to Cirque do Soleil. I got my fried fish taco, but we were still waiting for the grilled fish taco and we didn't want to be late so we had to leave. As we were pulling out of the parking lot, we saw the Manager running behind us with the grilled fish taco in a To Go bag! Now that's great service! In additional to excellent food, their heart to serve will bring us back again and again.

I love finding tucked away, fun Mexican/taco spots in the city. I think Atlanta shockingly has some really great ones. I can now add Tuza Taco to that list! When you pull into the lot, you can already tell you're in for a treat. Guests order and pay under a metal awning in the parking lot before they sit. I like how the menu is simple, yet offers something for every pallet. My first visit, I ordered three tacos- fried fish, pork belly, and carne asada. I also got a passion fruit margarita and shared chips and queso with my husband. After ordering, you take your order number to one of there many tables in a cute, outdoor gazebo or inside the restaurant. We decided to sit outside this day, and I was happy we did. Our food came out very fast! Everything was delicious! It was fresh and flavorful. My favorite was the fried fish taco. They cooked the fish in beer batter, which was out of this world! It was the best fish taco I've ever had! Honestly, Tuza is now on my top list of taco shops in the city. Definitely a must go with friends or even on a fun date.

Honestly, if it wasn't for the heat and the prices I would recommend this place for any day of the week. The food is all really good, fresh and has good flavor. Not too spicy or salty. But for the price... hmmmmm I'm not so sure about that. I sat outside for lunch because I wasn't very sure about where to go. There is an inside sitting area but I don't think people were in that space so I just sat in an outdoor cubby thing. They could use some fans in them. Small ones that run off solar power with timers to not waste energy. And more covered buckets that hold the forks and paper towels. A little outside dust builds character! During the fall though, I imagine this place is PACKED! It's aesthetically please, the music is good and the food is tasty. For me, just a little more over priced than I would like to pay for 3 tacos. They were $5 each (I think the chicken and steak should've been $3.50 each and the shrimp $4.50 but that's just me!) and the rice and beans weren't bad at $3. A great portion too. The Ranch Water was $14!! Some nearby places sell theirs for around $9.50-12. Overall, if it's pay day, please go! It's delicious. You won't be disappointed but your wallet might want to take the rest of the day off.

I love Tuza! The food here is amazing, although somewhat overpriced. On my last visit I tried the taquitos special, which was 3 fried taquitos for $10. It was topped with cheese, sour cream, and lettuce, and also came with a little cup of salsa. It was a good value and was filling and tasty. (I have tried the tacos on prior visits and find them all to be very delicious, but I have a hard time paying $5 or more for a single taco). We also got two appetizers, the queso dip with chips and the street corn. Both were also very tasty, and I would definitely order the queso again. This restaurant has counter service, but the server who brought out our food came around several times to see how we were doing and to remove any empty plates, which was a nice touch.

We're disappointed we didn't try this spot sooner! The food is freshly made and all very delicious. You can tell they put a lot of thought into each factor of the tacos. They made our food quickly and they had a nice patio out back so we were able to bring our dogs.

One of my top two favorite spots around Atlanta. It's a perfect date night type of place. Prices aren't bad and the tacos are delicious. Drinks are pretty strong and good. Service is elite. It's pretty much of a popular neighborhood type of place but I've had some good drunken nights here.

    Happy hour deals?

We now have $5 house margaritas from 3 to 6 everyday

Is there any daily special such as a Taco Tuesday?

They have a rotating special taco if the day

I've gotten different answer about gluten free. What meats here are good for gluten free?

Our steak, chicken, shrimp, ground beef, and pork belly on our CORN tortilla are gluten free.

Is it safe to eat here if you're allergic to fish? Aka cross-contamination issues?

Everything was prepared on the same counter so if it is a serious allergy, I would say no, but you should call and ask to be sure. Hate for you to miss out if you don't have to!

Are the meats in tacos gluten free?

YES... the proteins are naturally gluten free. Of course, be careful of breaded meats and chicken as they may and probably do contain glutens.

How is the food and is the prices ok?

Delicious and sensible. Well worth the price. I can't rave enough about every aspect of it!

We waited only a few minutes and was able to navigate the small lot to get a spot. There is a designated window for pre-orders and walk-ups have a separate line. It wasn't that long when we were there, but was out the door when we left. Ordering was easy as we got a chance to preview the paper menu, and we were given a card to place on our table once we found it. There was plenty of seating options despite the full lot, but it was nice out so a lot of people were out on the patio with views of the busy intersection. The decor was modern and airy. We checked out the salsa bar while we waited for our appetizer and I found the jalapeno roasted garlic, which was spicy and amazing!! Our appetizer was the con queso and I added chorizo, which I highly recommend. It was plenty for our party of 4 and they'll give you more chips if you need them for the amount of dip you get, just ask. I got one each of the steak, chicken, and carnitas tacos on corn tortillas. The steak was my favorite and I loved that you could taste the smoke in each of the meats with each bite. The grapefruit marg was strong! We were in and out in well under an hour.

Velvet Taco has a rather interesting story. Starting out in its original location in Dallas in 2011…read morewith a concept that rarely succeeds: applying fusion techniques to tacos. Indian style tacos, Korean style tacos and Baja style. While these experiments are hardly new to Atlanta and America as a whole, they rarely succeed, falling into the void of establishments that made an effort, but could not get a sufficient demographic ready for such experiments. And here came Velvet Taco by Dallas restareneurs Jack Gibbons and Randy DeWitt, showing that this risky concept can actually work. Over the past decade and a half, Velvet Taco expanded to dozens of successful locations and underwent major expansion. The Buckhead location debuted in 2019, hardly a great year to open a restaurant with an incoming pandemic. But, unlike the mom and pop shops that often went out of business, the private equity funds of this micro chain allowed the location to survive. Enough history and let's look at the tacos themselves. The top seller is the chicken tikka taco, the Indian fusion into a taco shell, with deep fried masala chicken, cilantro, basmati rice, raita and Thai basil. The combination seems ridiculous in a taco, but actually works really well. The element of rice, in my opinion, seems unnecessary give the tortilla is already there, but the rest is excellent. Then, there is the Birria taco, made with gruere cheese, pickled red onion and griddled corn tortillas. This one, despite throwing a Swiss cheese into the mix, is a true winner. Perfect shell, delicate pork and a side of consome make it such a winning package. The idea of serving the consome on the side is brilliant, as it allows targeted dipping or pouring, instead of having a taco that does not old up and gets saggy. The folks working the Buckhead location are polite and things are kept clean. All around, it's a very enjoyable spot and likely to stay here for years to come.

The consommé was rich and full of flavor--definitely a standout.
