Favorites were the crispy beef tacos, enchiladas, and steak fajitas-- the garlic butter that came with the fajitas was absolutely out of this world. Just an outstanding meal all around. Great Tex Mex in a lovely venue! I've visited the Buckhead location of Superica, so when I found out that this location was much closer to home, I was ecstatic! There is plenty of parking available (in the front lot and in the garage; both paid), and I've never had to search very long for a spot. With indoor and outdoor seating, this restaurant is quite spacious and offers enough space for an intimate dinner or a large party. Recently, I didn't feel like cooking (let's be real, I never do) and I searched for a Mexican spot with great margaritas to satisfy myself and my spouse. Superica turned up in my search and I'm so glad that it did. We visited on a Friday evening and although there were a number of guests already seated, we only had a 20 minute wait. In the mean time we visited the Salty Donut across the street (see my glowing review on them as well!) When we did get seated, we ordered the al pastor taco plate, 2 margaritas, and fajitas. Along with queso and guac. Everything was delicious. The al pastor was seasoned and grilled to perfection, as were the fajitas. The guacamole lacked salt but that's nothing I can't fix at the table. I've made a note to myself to visit again and eat my way through the menu. Side note: I always tell myself that I'm not going to get full off of the chips and salsa, but I need to stop lying to myself lol. I love this place!!! Please note that it is usually busy, and you might have to wait, but it is worth the wait. You can order a drink at the bar while waiting for your table. I recommend their margarita. First, their queso and chips are fantastic, along with the two sauces you get when you sit down. I prefer the red salsa, but my husband prefers the green one. I usually get a few things here, one being Ensalada Superica. It has cucumbers, corn, avocado, pickled onions, and I typically add grilled shrimp. Another thing I get is their nacho appetizer, yes, sometimes I double up on the chips, but the great thing about them is that they make them perfect with all the toppings on each chip and bake them. If I want leftovers or share them with someone, I will get their fajitas, either chicken, chicken and shrimp, or shrimp. The butter sauce that comes with them is impressive. Their tortillas are fantastic and help hold all the sides and fixings in your taco. They have multiple margaritas that I like to drink, so I make a choice based on how I'm feeling. I'm just never wowed by Superica. It's absolutely wild to me that it is in the the Michelin Guide (note it obviously does not have a star, being in the guide is a separate distinction). Like thats so hard for me to wrap my head around. Does not matter which location, it's always meh and a little hard to find something for me to eat. Now to unpack that, I love Mexican and tex mex food. I do, however I messed up my stomach a number of years aga and as a result can no longer eat anything spicy without being sick for days after. There are very limited options for someone with that particular issue or who may just be spice adverse. It's always loud, no matter which location you are in. Service isn't always consistant. For whatever reason, this feels like it could be a great place for groups but its always a bit of headache. It's slo quite expensive for kind of generic food. The drinks are good. I'll give them that. It's just not something I would ever go out of my way for. If a group is going, sure. But otherwise I don't love it. Speaking to the Krog street location specifically, theres so many other options both in Krog street and in the immediate area right off the Belt Line that I'm surprised its consistently as busy as it seems to be. read more
