We visited this past weekend for a graduation dinner gathering and ran into a communication hiccup right at arrival. Our party was supposed to be upstairs, but as we headed up, we were told children under 21 aren't allowed upstairs at all. The host of our party had no clue about this rule; when they called a month ago, they were told reservations weren't even needed, yet upon arrival, they were questioned about why they didn't have one. There is definitely a lack of communication with their phone/booking process. Upstairs just had a DJ outside, and since they have bars both upstairs and downstairs, the age restriction didn't make much sense to us, but it definitely disrupted our original plans. So we were told we had to wait 30 minutes for a table, but thankfully, we only waited about 15 minutes for our party of seven, which was downstairs at the outside patio. The weather was perfect and sitting outside turned out to be really nice. Our waitress, Kendall, was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly attentive, gave awesome recommendations for both food and drinks, and made a stressful situation so much smoother. Overall, the food was really good! The rice and beans were perfectly seasoned and soft, plus they were complimentary! I also had the taco fried shrimp which was fried to perfection. The corn tortillas were fresh and very tasteful and even the enchiladas were yummy! And the drinks were great. It turned out to be a nice evening out with family. But just a major FYI if you are bringing kids or anyone under 21: they cannot go upstairs, though I'm not sure if that is an everyday rule or just for Saturdays. Plan accordingly! read more

Tired this place on our 1st night in ATL. Walking in - area is cool, hip, decorated modern. Music was popping, everyone was super nice, and we were seated fast. Our waitress was attentive and even the manager was helping us and serving us. App - ordered queso and chips; sweet plantain with queso Entree - chicken fingers/fries for kiddos, taco flight, and shrimp tacos. None of use do spice, besides the kids food - each dish had a little kick. It wasn't crazy hot thought! Just enough to tickle your throat. Everything was fantastic! Came in during lunch on a Thursday, and loved the vibe! I got the shrimp tacos lunch special and it came with just two tacos and no sides. I think for the price point it wasn't worth it , but I will say the food was good just not filling. The shrimp was diced up but cooked to perfection! The location is super convenient with plenty of parking options -- both street and garage -- which made getting there and getting seated quick and easy. Service was friendly and efficient, and we were seated right away. We started with chips and guac for the table -- both were really well done, fresh, and flavorful. I ordered the Cazuela de Vida with steak, and it was absolutely delicious. I would 100% order it again. For drinks, I had the Hibiscus Spritz -- more tart than I expected, but still enjoyable! If I had one small complaint, it would be the booth size. We had four people and while booths usually work fine, this one felt a bit cramped. There didn't seem to be other table options available, but we still made it work and had a great time overall. Majority of what leads me to giving this place 4 stars is because of the food, which was relatively not as good in comparison to, for example, its decor, location, and vibes, which were A plus. My cousins, my partner, and I sat outside and enjoyed some good music played by the DJ and even played jenga right afterwards at a table that they had equipped the game with, which was great. In terms of food, it is slightly more expensive and sometimes the meat would be too dry, such as the carne asada tacos, which had very dry and hard beef, and the bistec alambre tacos, which relied on the queso to relieve the effects of the meat being too hard to chew. The birria tacos had dry meat as well, but of course, there was consommé to help. I ended up using the consommé for the other tacos we had ordered to help enhance the meat juiciness. The chicken tacos were great, though, along with the octopus tostadas. I also enjoyed the suadero (brisket) tacos and thought that it was a very innovative idea to add peanut-arbol chili salsa to them, and in my opinion, they worked very well. We ordered drinks as well, and plus points to the fact that we could choose what to add on the glass for our drinks, which I happily chose tajin while my cousins chose salt. Either way, the drinks had a mixture of flavors and that was what made the drinks great. Our server's name was Shaniqua and she was very courteous throughout the whole time in making our needs met, including helping us with changing our seat after our food was already out. We requested such because we sat too close to the DJ who started playing music after we had already been there and it was getting loud. Props to Shaniqua as well! Afterwards, we ended up going to the Regal theatre to watch a movie, so it was a very nice transition walking from Azotea to Regal which was very close, so this establishment's location definitely adds points to its value. read more

I was excited for Azotea to open in Southern Post as we already love Bey and Grana in the same location, so I was looking forward to another great option there. Hubby and I went for our last date night but unfortunately, we were both underwhelmed. While the decor and ambiance of the space is nice, the service and the food were just okay. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good enough to make me want to return on purpose. We ordered the guacamole and asked for the pork belly and cheese on the side. The guac was not chunky enough for our liking and the pork belly was soft but had no real flavor. For our mains, hubby ordered some bowl with their version kimchee, which he says isn't really kimchee, and I ordered the steak alambre tacos. I was bummed to be told that they only allow you to mix and match tacos on Tuesday, which I think is kind of ridiculous, and also disappointed to find that there was no option for the tortillas. It was corn tortilla or bust. I typically prefer a flour tortilla but figured I would give it a shot. Ended up eating the taco filling with a fork and leaving the tortillas because my taste buds still do not approve of corn tortillas. I just don't like the flavor. Hubby said his dish was "okay." Like I said, it wasn't a terrible experience but based on the first impression, I doubt we will go out of our way to return. There are far better eateries in Southern Post and definitely better Mexican food options nearby. I wouldn't be opposed to giving it a second chance maybe sometime in the future to see if they've improved, but for now, we will stick to our tried and true Mexican spots instead. read more

We got the cod taco, pork belly and ribeye tacos and they were not the best with flavors. I think it tastes "better" on a corn tortilla and not flour. I came on a Tuesday for lunch and it was perfect. I was on the verge of spazzing out at work and wanting taco so this place was near empty around 2:30 and I'm glad about it. Firstly there is no free chips and salsa so I ended up ordering a queso dip ($9). On Tuesday you can mix your three tacos so I had a steak, chicken and shrimp taco. The steak taco was really spicy IMO but the shrimp and chicken taco were perfect. One of them had a corn salsa and it's good enough to be sold separately. The tacos came with several pickled radishes. Yes. please and thank you. Servers were attentive, but again there were maybe eight of us altogether in the restaurant Nice space to escape the work day. This location is everything, in the middle of Atlantic Station. It is so airy in there. Plenty of windows, so much light shines through. We sat at the bar, the seating was very comfortable. They do have rooftop area but I didn't have the opportunity to make it up there, it was really sounding real lively though. Our bartender started off a little shaky but the service did improve. The revival of Atlantic Station's central area a few years back resulted in several new businesses and Azotea was one of them. Ran by the same team of Tacos & Tequilas restaurant, Azotea is a hopping spot with lots of energy. The tacos here are fine. There is a fairly typical beer selection with a couple local brews. A nice feature of the restaurant is the upstairs patio area overlooking Atlantic Station. Service is often inconsistent, but that's also not too different than the rest of Atlantic Station businesses. Azotea is a spot that's worth stopping by for something that is not chain dining if already in the area and hunger hits. read more

I went here for the first time I believe the day that they opened and I must say I wasn't impressed by their queso or tacos. However, after my most recent experience, my mind has definitely changed. I came here after brunch this past Sunday and we had some chips and queso and margaritas on the rooftop and the queso was actually good this time. It seems that their cooking and recipes may have improved. I also love their rooftop. It's so beautiful and has a great view of all of Atlantic Station. They also had live music at some point during our time there I believe the man's name is the human DJ and he was incredible. He was singing and was playing multiple instruments and it really just added to the entire experience. I've added this place to my list of taco places and I will be back. read more

The rooftop here is super cute in Atlantic station and there is 2 hour free parking in the garage which is a plus. Our waitress was so kind and checked in on us multiple times. That was not the issue at all, the issue was the food. We ordered salsa trio and chips $8..... if I'm paying that for salsa and chips I should be getting more than a side sauce size. Each cup was like 4 chips worth which is how many chips we received. A basket of about 12 chips. Has inflation hit so bad we can't receive a normal portion. Staff were amazing from first greeting us at the door, cracking jokes with my kiddo who was wanting to sit up on the roof that was for 21 and over to making him smile our entire dinner experience. We had just come from him having an MRI so I treated him to a pair of shoes he had been begging for over a year for and then he spotted this restaurant with the roof top. I luckily already told him that I felt it was probably an area saved for adults since it was pretty empty. I was right hand luckily they smiled and said you should sit out on the patio you can see more people coming and going and because you're closer to the kitchen service will be faster. Luckily, they sold him on that and he was a happy camper. He really sees no one as a stranger and he is just chatting it up with each restaurant team member who comes by or brings an item to us. Our service was phenomenal. The nachos were awesome and I loved how they had most of the ingredients on the side to allow the dining guest to create their own version of the perfect nacho. The chicken was tender, my son loves blue chips (so do I) and he gets so excited when he gets to eat chips that are colored natural as we eliminate all synthetic dyes. They do not let you substitute tacos here unless it's Tuesday. It's either all steak or all shrimp! I tried to get the Tres Amigos which comes with three tacos: steak, chicken, & shrimp. Food 10/10! Simple tacos were amazing on sturdy corn tortillas, meats were all seasoned well with tomatillo sauce on the side, and unlimited rice and beans. White rice was cooked to perfection with light seasoning so it was not bland. Guac is made fresh in house and tastes like it too! Portions appear small but are very filling. Blackberry marg was slightly sweet, house marg was a little tart. Sally from the valley was a refreshing blend of coconut and pineapple. The staff worked as a team checking in frequently and quick to bring everything to the table! They were all very kind and personable. Beautiful fall weather made the rooftop the perfect place to sit. I'm always hesitant to deduct stars when visiting on a holiday but whew. We came on Cinco de Mayo early enough that we weren't waiting in line. This was my first time at this restaurant so I wasn't sure what to expect. However, I'm sure it's simply for the holiday, but it was definitely giving lounge vibes. We sat on the rooftop and there was a DJ and free shots which made it super festive and fun. Now our service was absolutely terrible. We were seated and it took us forever to get anything done. Our waitress was completely MIA and when we did see her she was tending to other tables and not ours. There was a moment in time where we had asked for silverware to eat and sat there with our food in front of us for at least ten minutes before I finally had to go up and find her and she proceeded to go and get it. Similar situation with napkins. Literally had to babysit her for basic needs such as water, silverware, and napkins. The saving grace was the food and the vibes though. The food was pretty good. We literally devoured the guacamole. My steak tacos tasted almost like a Philly cheesesteak on a corn taco which was surprisingly really good and really flavorful. My husband and I decided to visit this place finally!! We are always at AS for a movie or shopping and walk past this roof top Mexican place vibing with awesome Dj. It's always a party! Do we decided to give this a shot. We got a table initially on the right and it smelled of garbage, so we decided to shift to the side facing the AS lawn where everybody chills. The server was very sweet and friendly. We got our drinks , my husband got a margarita and I got the hibiscus lemonade. I liked mine better. We also got chips and guacamole. The chips were blue corn tortillas very crispy, and the guacamole was fresh as can be. For food I got a bowl, added grilled chicken and my husband got the tacos. Honestly, I have had better.
