    Flautas

We went here for lunch on a Saturday. The inside is eye-catching (love the decor) and spacious. You can seat in the booth, at the bar, or table-chair. The Chilaquiles queretanos is average. The tortilla chips became soggy after a while. The chicken is dry. A little bit heavy for my stomach because of the beans and cheese (toot toot all day). The flautas are always my fav, doesn't matter which restaurant I am going to. They are crunchy tortillas rolled and filled with shredded chicken. Dipped in the spicy sauce-gawd dang. The tacos were so-so. Nothing much to say about them- love the fish taco tho. The churros were a miss. Where was the chocolate dip? Why ice cream? It melt when the churros touched it, making it looked unappetizing after (esp with choco drizzle). This place is more like American-Mexican fusion. Can be expensive.

I got a random ad on insta that said this restaurant was having a party with Mezcal flights and I dropped everything and went lol. This restaurant is located within the global forum shopping center off Buford Highway. There is plenty of free parking in the parking lot. When I first got there I was a little surprise that they were having a "party" because there was a bunch of families w/little kids and everything but to be fair it was still daylight outside. There was a DJ there when I went so that was cool. The restaurant had a pretty nice ambience and was a lot larger than I thought it was going to be from the outside. We were greeted by wait staff immediately. Put in my drink order and got the smoky Mezcal margarita. It was delicious and it was great to get a drink that wasn't $18. Tbh my friend, and I only came here to drink but, after a few sips we decided we'd need something to snack on. But, first I ordered more margaritas and they were all great. Eventually we moved onto flights my friend got the tequila flight and I got the Mezcal flight, the Mezcal was Del Maguey Vida. I like that the bartender gave me mine with oranges with Tajín, yum! For an app we got the guacamole con Chapulines (grasshoppers) I thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought it had a really good flavor and I enjoyed the crunch. Eventually, once it got a little later, the party did start. I came to the conclusion that this is probably a family restaurant and everyone in there was friends or family. I say that to say everyone was warm and friendly. People started getting up and dancing then eventually I got up too lol, some people were in the corner drinking, some were in the booth talking enjoying each other's company. It felt good being there and honestly reminded me of being back home. Naturally, after all the drinking and dancing, I got hungry and ordered the Carnitas Santa Rosa. It was soo good, I love carnitas it's my go to dish and it was cooked perfectly and had amazing flavor. It also came with nopales that were cold, next time I'll ask for them a little warm. Also the only thing I would add is a tortilla ( which I guess I could've asked for one). The ensalada was interesting because the dressing was like a sesame style dressing it was different but, it went well imo. My friend ordered the burrito and literally ate it in like 5mins so I'm assuming it was delicious. I really enjoyed myself, my food, drinks, and experience. I would definitely come back!

I found this place on Yelp and decided to meet some friends here for dinner. It is in the same shopping plaza as spring hall event center with plenty of parking. It was quiet when we arrived around 6:30. They do have happy hour from 3-6p with apps and drinks specials. We were seated in a booth and the decor inside is clean and tasteful. They had flowers along the ceiling and nice lighting fixtures above. The bar is nicely stocked and the servers were so friendly. We spend some time talking and catching up and they did not rush us. I ordered a horchata and it was creamy and cinnamony and not too sweet. My friends ordered some drinks and they were all very unique with Mexican style and good. We ordered some tacos and molcajete. The fish taco was fried and the crunch went along with the cauliflower and I love the spicy sauce! The Molcajete was large and layered with many different meats and seafood and veg. It came with side of salad, rice and beans. I love the refreshing salad and the rice and beans are flavorful. I love the presentation and the various meats that it came with. It was a unique dish for sure. They were all very attentive and glad that we visited. They have only been open a month and has lots of potential. I want to try other dishes they have next time! Stop by and try it out. You won't be disappointed with authentic Mexican dishes and friendly service!

Ohhhh, we loved the Molcajete Cielo, Mar y Tierra! It is a must-order! My friend who has been to Mexico many times said this was a very authentic Mexican dish - also I don't think I've seen it available at any other restaurant in Atlanta. The service was also very friendly, the space was very nice, and they have a great menu selection too. They are brand-new, open for just 3 weeks - they are still waiting to get their liquor license approved .... this has kept some customers away who love their margaritas, lol - but please until then, the food is so worth it! Let's show our love now! :) COMPLIMENTARY CHIPS & SALSA Chips are chips, haha - the salsa tasted very fresh, even slightly sweet ... I loved it. MOLCAJETE CIELO, MAR Y TIERA - $29 I think this is one of their specialities. Interesting presentation w/ the different meats draped on the edge, and everything in this dish, absolutely delicious. Favorite meat was the grilled octopus! Also loved the grilled shrimp and grilled panela cheese! Other items included chicken, beef, chorizo, avocado, nopales, cambray onion, cilantro onion, and ranchera. Also came w/ salad, rice, refried beans, and corn tortilla (in a very pretty embroidered holder). Again everything in the volcanic rock dish was so good - and portion is excellent too. MOLE DE LA CASA - $17 Our server also raved about the mole sauce - we weren't sure about the mole, so they brought a sample for us to try .... I loved the sauce! It's hard to describe the taste but it has the consistency of chocolate sauce. The dish included chicken leg and thigh ... so a little difficult to share between two people, and the chicken was just ok. The mole is the magic sauce. Also served with rice. WATER WITH LIME & CHIA We also tried their natural water w/ lime & chia ... very refreshing and tasted like limeade. I want to try their horchata next time! Overall, great spot to try. I definitely want to try their other dishes - fresh fish tacos, enchiladas, parrilladas, and desserts! My friend who shared about this spot on Facebook raved about the food and service. I will definitely be back! FYI, they are located in the Global Forum shopping center, next to the Spring Hall event space.

LOCATION AND PARKING This gem is located on Buford Highway about 6 minutes away from the Buford Highway Farmers Market. It is in the area of where I live, so I am so happy that there's such a yummy and aesthetic restaurant near me. There is lots of parking, it is located in a plaza surrounded by other restaurants. SERVICE The service was pretty slow at first, we went at around 9pm on a Wednesday. The restaurant was slow, it consisted of us and one other table. However, we had a great server. FOOD AND DRINKS We received some chips and salsa as soon as we sat down. I had looked at the menu prior to coming so I already knew what I wanted. They make the food fresh so there's only a limited amount late at night, 2 of the dishes I was interested in weren't available. However, our server quickly came up with a delicious recommendation being the Pollo Poblano. It did not disappoint! My friend ordered a variety of tacos to try and she ended up loving them all. The cocktails are also yummy, I enjoyed the mezcal. AMBIANCE The restaurant itself is gorgeous. It is so clean and I love the vibe it brings. The bar is beautiful and the colorful decor is so pleasant.

This restaurant is everything you want from a Buford Hwy gem: authentic, friendly, and delicious. I've tried a lot of things (the menu is huge, so nowhere near done) and so have the friends I've brought here. All were very good - some were great. Best pozole in Atlanta. Unique and rich green mole. Terrific cocktails, well-recommended by an engaging service staff. You can go small or big plate here and never go wrong.

We had an outstanding meal at this new find over the weekend. This is definitely not your combo #5 Mexican restaurant & I am 100% here for it! Everything we had was delicious. Ribeye tacos with the roasted cactus, Al Pastor burrito, steak quesadilla with charros beans (i swear the best beans i've ever had), & a pork dish (can't recall the specific name) with tender chunks of marinated pork with a green salad & a chili salad & super fresh warm corn tortillas. Our waiter was so friendly & brought us something i've never tried ....tepache, a fermented pineapple drink. I think that might be my new favorite drink! It is a family-owned business that opened 2 months ago. Nicely decorated & a more elevated dining room with a full bar. I hope they do well & we can't wait to go back!

So glad we got to finally try this restaurant in the plaza at the front of our neighborhood. It is on the bit pricier side of Mexican food, but the variety and taste was well worth it. Burrito- verrrrryyyy flavorful and packed with meat inside. It had a red sauce on the side that was a bit spicy but when you eat it all together it worked so well Mole- never had mole before, only seen it on TV being made, flavorful as well and well balanced. It came with chicken and rice and the chicken was fall off the bone tender and NOT DRy which is a big deal for chicken. I asked for spicy salsa and all of them were noticeably different in spice levels (sometimes I can't tell) and tasted so fresh. The server said it was homemade. I got the horchata to try. It was worried that it would be too sweet (not a sweet tooth person), just like everything else though it was very balanced. Plenty of parking since it's in a plaza and the decor was minimalistic and classic. We look forward to coming back and trying other things. All of it looks good. They even have guacamole with grasshoppers thay sound interesting. They have a brunch menu from 11am to 2pm daily I believe.

We saw this place on Instagram and didn't know what it would be like but decided to give it a try. It was a treat!!! We just visited Mexico a month ago and tried aguachiles for the first time there, and these were just as good as some that we tried there! The entrees we got were both delicious and there's a whole lot more on the menu that we want to try next time. The cocktails were great (we got a carajillo too but didn't snap a pic). Carajillo was the best one we've had around Atlanta. The waitress we had was super friendly too; she made our drinks as well and did a great job! We have a new favorite sit down Mexican spot ~ we will be back soon!

Grasshopper topping. That's like lime sunflower seeds. Lol

Only to be greeted by the owner who was an excellent host. The title says it all. TACO LOUNGE! Because the tacos are delicious. As the gen Z would say- fire. They slay. They are serving taste! The guac is fresh. With chips that don't break every time I take a scoop. The tortillas are corn only and from what I can tell- made in house. The drinks are hand crafted from fresh juices! Apparently they have drag shows on Friday! They do have a moderate sized stage area for a restaurant. Def tons of potential here for this restaurant to do big things!

But not 6 street tacos, 6 meals. I got the suadero, asada, and chorizo which were all phenomenal! My friends also added cheese, which comes quesadillas style, which I will certainly go for next time, as it looked amazing (see pic). Yes, the flavorful corn tortillas are handmade per order, so it takes around 15 minutes to get your plate. But it is worth it, considering only 1 of 4 in our party could conquer all 6 without taking a couple tacos home for a second meal. The drinks though!! We had a round of house margaritas, with an agave topper. Best I've had to be honest. I also had a tamarind michelada, which was so good I'll come back on a live band night for this weekly. Pro tip: the entrance is to the right side of the big steak house. Don't let the Speakeasy style entrance fool you, once you go down the long walkway, it opens up with beautiful lighting, a VIP area, a small dance floor, and a great sound stage for live Latin music and DJs. With the plethora of authentic choices on Buford Hwy, El Alebrije manages to stand out and the serving size and quality drinks will keep me coming back. Highest recommendation!
