Fives across the board. Casi Cielo is incredible. The space is warm and beautiful without trying too hard, and the crowd was hip and well dressed. Definitely a place to be seen and eat well. There's a parking garage but it was full when we got there, so we did valet, which was surprisingly affordable. Service was wonderful. Our server was attentive, helpful, and super knowledgeable about the menu. As for the food, we got: Aguachile de Pescado, which was insane. Super fresh, bright, citrusy, ceviche-like with perfect texture. I would go back just for that. The Hamachi was clean and bright. That avocado sauce tied everything together and gave it some depth without overpowering the fish. The Pork Belly Tostadas were crispy and rich with that smooth avocado mousse and sweet mango salsa balancing it out perfectly. Finally, the bone marrow with steak... so good. I had seen pictures of it before I came and it did not disappoint. The steak was incredibly tender. They bring blue corn tortillas and suggest making a taco with the marrow, steak, and avocado. It's great that way. But honestly, the marrow and steak stand perfectly on their own. Whole experience was excellent. Easily one of my favorite spots in the city now.
I will preface this by saying Mexican food is not a favorite of mine so I don't have many other upscale Mexican restaurants to compare my experience to. Parking: they offer valet and there's a nearby parking deck. The parking deck was full so we opted in for street parking just around the corner from the restaurant but valet may be easiest due to the busyness of that area on the weekends. Ambiance: Nice vibe inside. My friend said this was her first time being able to get a reservation so I recommend reservations. Looked great for solo dining, date nights, or friend night outs. Service: Service was great from the time you arrived to the time you left! I'm very big on this and Casi Cielo is a stand out in this department. From the hostesses to our waitress, Alondra?, who was new were all great. I loved that they took such pride in their menu from their in-house cocktail ingredients, their extensive Mezcal selection, or the culture that went into each of their dishes were all shared with us as we decided between the menu. Cocktail: I got the Raicilla Punch. For $17 I was honestly pretty underwhelmed and would skip it next time. It was sweet, but just nothing special to me. Food: For an appetizer, we had Fundido de Queso which was the highlight of the night for me. I'm a cheese lover and loved the nuttiness and smoothness plus the cheesy crust. I was also a big fan of the freshness of their chips and different salad. For my main course, I got the Enchiladas Verdes. Everything was seasoned well and it paired great with what we had left of the queso. My only feedback is I would've appreciated a little bit more if the sauce. My friend also mentioned that when she had the dish previously, it had more sauce. To conclude, my friend ordered the Capirotada which is like a bread pudding. Their vanilla ice cream was to die for and the dish had a good flavor and was served hot! The verdict is still out as to whether id go back for dinner, but I am curious about their brunch because I like chilaquiles and would like to try their horchata. I took off a star because the fire alarm kept going off which was a tiny bit disruptive.
Wow. I didn't have much expectations coming in but my husband and I were blown away by the food and service! The staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and attentive. Vani was our server and he was awesome, but all the other staff we interacted with was great too. I got to try a bunch of things with our party of 4: Aguachile de pescado - loved the tender fish contrast with the fresh and crunchy onions. Acidity level was perfect. Croquetas de platano - a little sweet, a little savory, soft inside and crispy outside. Nice taste of mole as well with the sauce. Tostada de pork belly - the pork belly itself is the tostada base. Kind of reminded me of candied bacon. It was a bit too sweet for me but others in my group loved it. Cochinillo tacos - didn't get to try this one but my friend said it was good - her second time ordering it! Quesabirria - not your traditional quesabirria. Filled with delicious lobster. It was cooked perfectly with tender meat, stretchy cheese, crispy tortilla but juicy on the inside. The lobster bisque was rich and tasty. Lime and guac was refreshing. One of their newest additions go the menu! Entraña - husband didn't expect much from skirt steak but he said this was perfectly tender and flavored. Cooked to perfection! The salad was refreshing and potatoes tasty with cheese. Volcan de chocolate - mexican twist on a chocolate lava cake. Great for dark chocolate lovers as it is not too sweet and has a little kick from chile powder. Topped with a delicious coconut gelato. De verano - a soursop cream our birthday girl got. Great for those who like acidic desserts like lime or lemon flavored things. Tostada francesa - this was literally the highlight of our night and a wonderful way to end the meal. Hands down best french toast we've ever had!! Definitely more of a dessert than a breakfast item. The toast is sooo soft and custardy on the inside and the refreshing cream and fruit on top is the perfect pair. A must try and favorite of the staff too. Can't wait to come back just for this. While I didn't LOVE everything, the whole meal was generally good so I think this spot deserves 5 stars. A lot of times the customer service is great but the food is just average. But here at Casi Cielo not only is the service great but the food also matches the caliber of the staff. Definitely a must try for elevated Mexican food! I have been to Oaxaca, MX and the food here reminds me of one of the fancy restaurants we went to :)
I love Casi Cielo! It's dimly lit, vibrant, and thoughtfully designed. The service is always amazing and the staff is very friendly. I always get the enchilidas when I come - they are my favorite! So flavorful and I always have leftover to take home after. The queso and guacamole here is also delicious and would recommend as an appetizer to share. I am curious to check out the new location on the Beltline next!
Casa Cielo in ATL did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, the vibes were on point and the service was top tier. We were lucky enough to be taken care of by Giancarlos and Laura, absolute gems behind the bar. Their energy and attention made the experience even better. Now let's talk food * The plantain cheese balls were next level delicious, crispy on the outside, melty perfection on the inside, all sitting in a rich flavorful sauce * The queso was smooth, savory, and seriously addictive * But the real star was that green sauce. I would drink it straight. It's that good * My husband devoured the pork belly tostada with mango pico and gave it a solid 10 out of 10 Between the beautiful ambiance, elevated flavors, and impeccable service, Casa Cielo is officially a new favorite in ATL. Can't wait to come back!
Took the kids to finally celebrate birthdays and anniversary. Great meal and excellent service. Starters were guac and street corn along with salsa. All great. I had enchiladas verde, others had the Coloraditas, short ribs and duck stuffed prawn. All were very pleased with the service and the food. 3 of four took food home. Recommended for some high class Mexican.
My absolute fave restaurant in ATL. You can never go wrong. Order anything off the menu and you'll probably enjoy it. Great vibes for a nice brunch or dinner or to bring out of town guests to experience good food, good service, good atmosphere, and good live music. I love the French toast, the bone marrow, the plantains, the special Oaxacan coffee, the squash soup. But above all, they do steak so well here.
Had heard this was a great upscale Mexican spot in Sandy springs. Great location , ample parking in the adjacent parking garage and nice selection of options to choose. We sat at the bar and had 2 great bar tenders who knew the menu, made great recommendations and the food was delish. I had the fried fish tacos and my accompaniment had the chicken tacos . Both had a great flavor profile that was delish. We had 2 cocktails- pineapple margarita with a hint of spice and tahin on the rim. The guac owed fresh and flavorful and we had a blue chip appetizer as well. I would definitely return but is a bit pricey. Not your average Mexican spot but found out they are the sister restaurant to LaParilla which is also great for their food and margaritas.
We were greeted with live music on a Sunday noon. Our server understood that we were celebrating special occasions and did a wonderful job recommending menu items that we would like. He provided us with an amazing service and even gifted us painted little pots with flowers. The flavored water was refreshing! We had the Tiradito for appetizer and all the flavors complemented each other so well! That was seriously the best appetizer I've tried at a restaurant. My espresso martini was delicious. I think I had two? The dessert we had was called De Verano and it blew my mind. It is soursop mousse with meringue, black berry and lemon zest. I thought I've had it all until I tasted it. It was an unforgettable taste.
I came here with my friends for brunch and it was amazing. We were the first reservations so it was a little confusing to get inside since I wasn't sure it was open or not. Once we were seated, the waitress was gracious and asked about dietary restrictions or allergies. Then the group ordered and I got chilaquiles and mexican hot chocolate. The food was delicious and only downside was that I had asked for hot sauce and didn't receive. Despite it the drink and food was absolutely delicious! The amaniance was amazing and they were playing live jazz music which really added to the mood.

First time here and this place didn't disappoint. S/o to my waitress Wendy, she was great. She definitely gave some good suggestions. The food was flavorful and overall tasted great. The atmosphere was welcoming and worth a trip back. Also located in a good area, you can walk some calories off after. Lots of options on the menu so try a few small options with your entree.
TLDR: one of my favorite ATL restaurants, lamb tuetano bone marrow tacos are a stand out. Remember to validate parking immediately. This is my second time here and both times have been so good. We came as a party of 3 and left so happy and full. I love Mexican food holy moly We got the queso and octopus shrimp ceviche as starters. The queso was 3 cheeses: American, cotija, and Oaxacan. They heated it up under a salamander so it was nice and crispy on top, while being gooey all throughout. Also came with a couple of nice salsas. The ceviche was not my favorite because I don't prefer raw(ish) octopus, but the squid ink sauce was very flavorful. For our mains the 3 of us shared the red snapper, tuetano with lamb, and the mixteco poblano pepper. Red snapper had a nice charred smoky flavor from being grilled. Was more meaty than flaky in texture. It was our second time getting the mixteco poblano pepper and it hits. Highly recommend eating with some of the salsa as well if you get queso. The duck carnitas in it wasn't particularly duck-y today, but still very good. Best dish is definitely the tuetano. The bone marrow is so incredibly flavorful with the blue corn tortillas. Add some of the pickled onions and it's hard to go wrong with that flavor combo of salt, fat, and acid. if you're going to order one thing, I'd order this and share with a friend and tbh it's enough to be filling. For dessert we got the volcan de chocolate (basically lava cake). The lava cake and coconut ice cream combo is fantastic. You get bits of coconut flakes as you eat! Fair warning it isn't the brownie texture you may be used to, it's a bit more cakey. Amazing service the whole night! Almost got our cars booted because we forgot to validate until 1.5 hours in but luckily we were fine. The staff let us know they have been booting cars though so be wary! read more

The ambiance, service and the atmosphere was really nice! All of our food items came so quick! I really enjoyed the salsas they provided too, one was actually really spicy. I also enjoyed the pulpit, thought it had a nice char to it and a good flavor. I really enjoyed my pork belly tacos! The tortilla was so fresh and the toppings were refreshing that complimented the fatty pork well. I really liked the sauces here honestly, it complimented everything well and made me eat so many chips as well. The service was very nice and attentive. read more

I went to this restaurant this past weekend as a recommendation. This is not your normal Mexican restaurant. This is an upscale Mexican restaurant where you will NOT find your traditional options like fajitas, flautas, quesadillas, etc. This restaurant has ana amazing flavor and it is for the foodies out there. Their sushi service was a bit slow but once the waiter engaged, he was on point. He made some suggestions and I adhere to them. I am glad that I did as it was the best decision that I could have made. I had the steak and eggs . The steak was very tender and flavorful. Their sushi eggs were made to order and the seasoning was on point. If you want quality food and a great experience, this is your place. I highly suggest making reservations Valet park for $3 as it is hard to find parking and the parking deck was completely full. read more

A fav! Brunch or dinner is never a miss. One nice touch I like is their infused water. It's a different flavor every time I go. On the weekends they have an amazing saxophonist that plays beautiful music. They have the best mezcal variety and their food transports me to Mexico every time. Service is great, waitresses listen well and check in at the right intervals. Valet parking is available as well. read more

LETS TACO BOUT CASI CIELO | we had a reservation for later in the evening but joined the walk-in list to see if we could get an earlier table faster that way. We ended up getting seated before our reservation time so it worked out. We started with red wine and quite a few apertivos: the fundido de queso, aguilachile de pescado, croquetas de platano. All were tasty, although the queso was a little watery for my taste. The aguachile was a beautiful presentation and good for sharing. The croquetas de platano are solid (almost literally) - and fill you up while you're waiting for your entree! I decided to split the pate con mole negro - the duck was beautiful and the mole paired great. The duck was cooked perfectly. It's a pretty big portion so it's perfect for sharing, especially with the rice and beans. We ended the meal with the bread pudding and it was warm and meaty and delicious. As we finished the meal, the server was super accommodating and helped us split the check easily - including the shared appetizers per person - it was awesome. Rarely do servers do this and I appreciated the effort. Overall, Casi Cielo is a solid fine dining option you need to add to your Sandy Springs restaurant list! read more

We went for brunch and the food was good! Really enjoyed the French toast. I also got the pork belly Benedicto and it came with a huge slab of fried pork belly. Cappuccino was a little small on the espresso volume but tasted good! Service was very attentive. Would be good for a date night in the evening. Had live jazz for brunch! read more
Casi Cielo is a hot spot for Oaxacan cuisine (mexican). Highly recommend reservations. Walks in are allowed but be prepared to wait for a long time. They have patio (covered in winters), regular and bar seating. Drinks were great! Not watered down. Lots of options to chose from. Food was excellent! Appetizers - Queso, fried plantains. One of the best queso we had so far. Main - Tacos, Chicken. The tacos (2) come with small portion of rice, beans. The rice and beans are so flavorful. The tacos are juicy. Do not skip on the soursop dessert. Its very light and has sweet, citrus, tart notes. Highly recommend. Service was great. Parking avaliable - Street, Valet and Free garage parking (right behind the restaurant). Amazing spot for celebrations or date night. read more

Even with a reservation we had a 20 minute wait. The restaurant was packed, and obviously good since people were coming in a willing to wait without a reservation for up to two hours. We decided on the tasting menu to sample multiple bites, as this was our first visit. There was so much food that we could not finish everything and had to take our last two courses home and opted out of dessert. Be prepared to be there for a few hours if you select a tasting menu. The food does not disappoint. Very eclectic. We had the croquetas de platano (fried plantains deep fried with machego cheese served on a mole sauce), pulpo al carbon (grilled octopus 30th roasted potatoes), ensalada cesar al josper (charred romaine leaves with anchovies, manchego and house made dressing), color al josper (roasted cauliflower with pumpkin seeds, chile powder and oil), tuetano ( roasted bone marrow with lamb chimichurri and hand made tortillas) and pao con mole negro ( duck carnitas). When I say everything was a delight, from the service to each bite, there's no exaggeration. The salad and cauliflower were awesome. So simple and basic, but elevated. I'd never order bone marrow if if saw it on the menu, but America, our server, recommended it, and we were blown away. Carlos and America explained every dish upon its arrival to the table. I had an amazing brunch experience here! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance made me feel right at home--warm, welcoming, and reminiscent of a cozy Oaxacan restaurant during the holiday season. I walked in shortly after 11am when they opened and there were already quite a few people seated so I could tell this was a popular spot. I was quickly seated in a booth and greeted by my waitress was very attentive, making sure I understood the menu. I ordered the Croquetas de platanos appetizer - a plantain croquette with an amazing mole. I definitely recommend if you enjoy sweet plantain. For my main, I got the Oaxffle de milpa- a corn waffle with duck confit as the waitress said this was her personal favorite. It did not disappoint. Both the appetizer and main came out very quickly which I was appreciative of. It was absolutely delicious. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and the drinks was equally impressive. I ordered the Paloma Negra. I loved how the chef made a point of greeting patrons, which added a personal, welcoming touch to the experience. All in all, I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for great food, great service, and a welcoming vibe. I'll definitely be back! read more

This is the headline - "Good but overpriced." Foodwise, Casi Cielo deserves 3.5 or 4 stars. But when the price point is factored in, 3 stars is more like it. Maybe even 2.5 stars... Here are the details: The Good: - Entrecote Mexicano/Ribeye (A): Excellent flavor and quite tender - Entraña/Flank Steak (A-): Very nice smoky flavor - Tostada de Pork Belly (B): Good, although I've had much better pork belly - Service (A-): Attentive and courteous The Bad: - Guacamole Frito de Hierbas (D): Totally uninspired and insipid guacamole. You'll find much better guacamole pretty much anywhere. Zero flavor - Cochinillo Tacos/Pork (C+): Very creative and instagrammable, but lackluster in the flavor department - Both of their sides, Rustic Potatoes and Onions Toreadas (C): Really nothing special The Ugly: 14 bucks for that bland guacamole? 17 bucks for those minuscule and mundane pork tacos? No thanks. Now I don't want to be unfair. Both steak dishes we ordered were excellent. The ambiance was pleasant and the service very attentive. But as highlighted above, many dishes failed to deliver, and the price point was unreasonable. We won't be returning to Casi Cielo. Before tipping we spent $235 for a 3-person meal (2 appetizers, 3 entrées, 1 taco, 1 side, no alcohol, only water, no dessert). read more

What a fantastic venue!! Atmosphere was hoppin, trendy, open, and hip, the food was some of the best I have ever eaten, bold, artisan, and full of fantastic combinations, however you are going to pay for what you get... it is on the high side. Our service was outstanding... we never wanted for anything and they didn't hover. The place was full and rockin, but somehow they managed to come around just enough. We started with chips and salsa like any Mexican Food place but the salsa was AMAZING! The right combination of heat, flavored, freshness, and consistency. It was a sign of good things to come! Then we had an appetizer of the Tostada pork belly. Seriously.. OOOH MY GODDIE... IT WAS SO AMAZINGLY TOO HOTTIE! A symphony in my mouth of the best combinations of flavors I have ever had. This might be the singularly most delicious dish I have ever eaten. The flavors exploded with ecstasy as I chewed. If for no other reason you have to come and try this! After this I thought that the main meals would fall short. There was no way that anything else could come close. They proved me wrong. Everything was outstanding. Dined in for dinner and had a great experience. Our waitress was superb and described each dish in great detail. The staff was also very accomodating to my toddler. My party and I decided to eat family-style so that we can try all the dishes. We had pulpo, pork belly, duck, and steak. All portions were generous and unique. My family enjoyed all the dishes.
