Wagyu & Lamb duo taco with cilantro rice & black beans
Sam H.

Our team opted to dine here for a large group dinner. We were immediately sat upon arrival. It's a good sized medium to large environment with bar & patio seating. The guacamole was really good with the chips. For dinner, I opted for their duo tacos (Wagyu & lamb). Both were very tender and seasoned well. Our server, Berhane was friendly, professional & attentive. I would be willing to go back and try other things on their menu the next time I am in town.

Great spot in Town Brookhaven for delicious tacos (lots of choices) and watching sports! Found this place on Yelp. They also have a brunch menu/cocktails (Sat-Sun 10-4pm) and $5 happy hour specials (Mon-Fri 3-6pm) incl. margaritas, mimosas, and sangrias! Love the open space and all the natural lighting during the day. Service is very friendly too. I ordered two tacos which looked small but the fillings are generous to the point that it got quite messy to eat and with the corn tortillas, fell apart ... but they were delicious and worth it! Next time I may opt for the flour tortillas, lol. They do have all kind of tacos - and unique sauces ... salsa verde cruda, salsa aji amarillo, avocado ranch, salsa guajillo, salsa morita, and salsa verde! CRISPY SALMON TACO - $4.75 Fried battered fresh fish, corn (from the cob!), cabbage slaw, salsa verde cruda. Yummy! BEEF BARBACOA TACO - $4.75 Smoked beef brisket, pickled onions, salsa aji amarillo. Generous amount of meat - also yummy! My friend got the Breakfast Tacos ($14) which included 3 tacos w/ egg, chorizo, crispy potatoes, and salsa verde cruda ... except the crispy potatoes were missing. Our server was going to get them on the side but they never arrived ... guess the kitchen was busy. She still enjoyed the tacos. I'd definitely return - I'd like to try the Happy Hour specials. FYI they are located in the old Red Pepper Taqueria spot, just across from Publix.

Came here to watch the game. I sat at the bar and my bartender was great. I ordered a taco since the meat is cooked on the green egg. I was looking forward to alot of flavor but the meat was bland. I was really disappointed since it looks so good on social media. I may give them another try eventually.

I dropped by on a Sunday afternoon and sat at the bar. I'm glad they renovated the previous bar a bit and updated the space a bit. I had a chicken tortilla soup, that was in a tomato broth. I also had 2 mango margaritas, which were delicious. My server was super accommodating and loved her energy. Looking forward to coming back for happy hour and official brunch.

Since Red Pepper Taqueria closed, I've been very excited for Chico Cantina to open in its place! Service has been nice so far, and the ambiance is casual. While it's not an authentic Mexican restaurant, the flavors are great! You can tell a lot of love has gone into this. I have come in a couple times so far for dinner and have enjoyed the experience. I've had the chips and salsa, queso, guacamole, calamari, ceviche, a couple of the tacos (shrimp, and fish), a couple quesadillas (shrimp with all the fixings, and just cheese), Mexican rice (last time, I asked for the other rice option but I received the Mexican rice again as a mistake... it's yummy but I'd love to try the other next time), and pineapple bread pudding. Everything has been tasty. The margaritas are fantastic! Sadly, the first time we went, they were only doing on the rocks--not sure they've gotten their frozen machine up and running yet. I got the "condesa" which was perfectly spicy-sweet! Additionally, the last time we went, they were only serving house margs. Not sure what's going on with this, but I can't wait for their full menu to be up and running. For those who don't drink alcoholic they offer a nice big menu of mocktails that all sound yummy. Looking forward to returning to try more things.

Herbed rice

Absolutely delicious! The food is bursting with FLAVOR! The chips were served hot and were not oily at all - and perfectly salted. The salsa verse was screamingly delicious. Very, very fresh. I am attaching pics of the salmon tacos and herbed rice. Both were phenomenal. The tacos had a little spicy heat but with the fresh corn (it was clearly cut fresh from the cob), cabbage salsa, and a verde on top, it was beautiful. Not pictured were the grilled shrimp tacos. I am sorry for being redundant but they were grilled perfectly and were as fresh as could be. Service was amazing and it didn't cost a lot for our dinner for two.

Find the doors on the side of Chido Padres with a picture of two animals on the door windows. (Check pictures) Free parking lot! We got two drinks: Silent Night Margarita and Hung by the Fireside. Our total was $71.60 with tax for 4 drinks. Each drink was about $16. Pros Loved the decor and the drinks were great! Not too much juice and just enough alcohol. Cons $16 a drink can rack up pretty quickly if you're a heavy drinker. Would I Recommend: Yes! Based on the drinks I would definitely recommend this place. Great service and great drinks with free parking! Follow me here on Yelp and @jessreviewss on Tik Tok/Instagram for more.

We went to this pop-up a year ago and it was excellent so decided to book again this year. A year…read moreis a long time and this was a completely different experience. This year the drinks were blah, the food was mediocre, the vibe was non-existent, and the service was the bare minimal. I have been to other pop-ups this year and would recommend any of them over this include Rreal Taco down the street or Hamp & Harry's or even just picking up the Grinch Happy Meal at McDonald's. Pros: Parking onsite, Reservations (sort of), friendly host (best part of the experience) and server (but absent), nice decorations. Cons: Expensive, boring drinks, overcooked and poorly plated food, not a lively nor festive vibe, poor communication and customer service. Even though this is the only pop-up pre-charging for their event and it was significantly more than a year ago, we liked having a booked time and it was a great experience previously so we booked in early November, but within an hour of booking, we had to adjust the time via OpenTable to a couple hours later. Faster forward to two days before our booking. Confirmations comes in and we notice it is the old time. Called, left messages, send messages through multiple means. Zero response. Called the next day and finally reached the manager who said that the time we wanted wasn't available even though it was the day before so took a later option at 730. Arrive on time but they don't have a table. While waiting they seat us in another area and offer extras since they are late...but they bring chips and salsa 30 mins after 730 when we were supposed to be seat 10-15 mins after we arrive. No waters or anything. Bring complementary margaritas at 810 but only 4 and there are 6 of us. The waitress was dismissive and there was no one else in the bar when we got there. Finally seated at 830 even though they are timed reservations and said they were going to be asking people to wrap within 15 mins of 730. Food was so basic and slapped on the table. Drinks were not festive at all. Ran out of hot chocolate. No festive cups or anything. It was the most mediocre experience I have had. Skip it!

Great food, lovely decor and ambiance and excellent service! Will be back again definitely!…read moreWe were here twice, once for breakfast and once for drinks at the bar in the evening. Service both times were excellent. We had the three egg omelette for breakfast. Fluffy and tasty. The drinks at the bar were excellent also. Since we stayed at the Kimpton this was convenient (nearest restaurant since it is downstairs!). Enjoyed it a lot! Will be back if we stayed at the Kimpton and even if not.

Overall: 3 stars There's clearly potential in the kitchen,…read morebut the service and overall experience really missed the mark - esp on a night when they had every opportunity to shine. Unfortunately, not a place we'd return to. Came here for the first time on a Saturday at 6pm with my husband, and surprisingly, we were the only people in the restaurant until about the time we left. Service: 1 star There was plenty of staff, so it was confusing how things still felt so off. Drinks were wrong (I ordered prosecco and was brought white wine), and overall attentiveness just wasn't there. Another disappointment was at the end - my husband paid while I was in the restroom, and when I checked the receipt, I noticed I'd been charged $3 more for the wine. I calmly pointed it out, not even asking for a refund, just to flag it, and the waitress argued with me about it instead of simply acknowledging the mistake. Not a great way to end the night. Drinks: My prosecco mix-up aside, the drinks were just okay. My husband's gin & tonic was fine, but noticeably better ones can be found nearby. (Like our night cap at Yeppa after) Apps: 2 stars * shishito peppers were soggy and overly fried * Caesar salad was heavily dressed and tasted like something you'd get at a diner Entrees: 4 stars * chicken was excellent - well cooked & flavorful. Slaw on the side was a bit random * trout was slightly salty but still very good and cooked perfectly. Skin perfectly crispy & enjoyed the grilled green onion on top. I substituted grilled veggies for the slaw (due to dairy)

This was the first day they put this new menu out. I'll be honest we weren't really fans of the food. The shrimp and grits had a full layer of a sharp cheese on top, which was just way too much we all thought. I love me some cheese in my grits too but that was just overkill because it's also cheese throughout the grits. Also the ribeye? Both my friend and I didn't like ours and we love us a ribeye. It didn't even taste like a ribeye, more like top sirloin or NY strip. The Juice? Yuck. I make my juices at home and no additives and it still doesn't taste nasty like this one lol Shrimp & Grits (it's the cheese, remove some and we have a deal, I enjoyed the shrimp and I hate shrimp) Ribeye? Hated it. Give me a good quality ribeye and we'll talk. This gave sirloin from Waffle House or something, no shade.

Live music started over an hour late, and there's not much standing room, so I'd recommend reserving a table. Now, onto the food. I ordered the Boom Boom Shrimp Tacos (three to a plate), which were supposed to be fried shrimp topped with Asian slaw and boom boom sauce. What I got instead? Iceberg lettuce, shredded cheese, and a light drizzle of sauce. Not what was described or expected, or worth $20. Only bottled water available - small bottles for $5+. I declined. The price point overall didn't make much sense throughout the entire menu. To top it off, my friend ordered a Moscato and was given the wrong wine - Chardonnay, if I remember correctly. The waitress initially pushed back, but as the wine aficionado of the group, I could confidently say it wasn't Moscato. She eventually took it back to the bar, apologized, and swapped it. Would we go back? Yes--for the drinks and live music, once the night hits its stride. But for food? Not so much.

They have an indoor and outdoor area on Sundays and the music is always good. People are friendly and it's a vibrant atmosphere. The only reason I wouldn't give this place five stars is because the food is just OK. I ordered the shrimp pasta and it had what tasted like almost no seasoning. Everything was cooked nicely. The shrimp was cooked nicely and the pasta was as well but it just needed some salt and I was disappointed because they gave me plastic cutleries and I was looking to see if they had the little salt and black pepper packet in it and it didn't so I couldn't even add any salt on top to make it a little bit more flavorful. I still definitely love this place though for the drinks and just a good time. I absolutely recommend this place because it is a lot of fun.
