LOVE LOVE !!! LOVE !!!!! I can't believe it took me so long as a local to dine here ! Free parking in the city small parking area in plaza haven't had a problem . The food is so good !!! And so are the prices !!! I sat at the bar the bartender was cool , the ambience was cute and cozy for a date night or friends gathering I will most definitely come back !!!! I want to try everything!
A true Atlanta gem! They got it all right. Where do I begin ? First, they have a free parking lot, so that's always a win in a city where that barely exists. Please be aware that's it's limited but enough. We came on a Sunday around 7pm. There were a few people there so we instantly got seated and had our choice of where. They do have TVs and the March Madness game was on with a captive audience. We ordered the half chicken with cilantro cream sauce, sweet lime bbq sauce, black beans, birria quesadilla and yuca fries. It was all AMAZING. And our food came out quickly after we ordered, as if they read our mind and knew we were on the way. The chicken was so juicy with flavor and easily fell off the bone. It pairs well with all of the sauces. The yuca fries were a perfect combination of crunch on the outside and soft on the inside covered with chunks of garlic. The yuca fries and cilantro cream are a match made in heaven. The birria quesadilla had juicy beef on the inside but a firm quesadilla to hold it all together, and the consumé dipping sauce was a complimentary addition. The quesadilla was good without it and great with it. The black beans were pretty standard but cooked well with a nice flavor. It was all stellar. I found no fault with anything we ate. Our waiter was attentive and very pleasant. This was a great place to have a great time. Despite the food being so great, it's a casually dining experience. The decor is fancy but you don't need to be. I love it here!
I am blown away with the amazing customer service and food I received at this location. I went with the chile lime street corn as my starter and the special, peach sofrito salmon. The street corn tasted very fresh, definitely enjoyed the sauce that came with it and the tortillas that came with it were light and crunchy. Now, the star of the night was the peach sofrito salmon. Refreshing, soft and melted in my mouth. With every bite, I wanted more and more. The peach glaze combined with the seasoning of the salmon was a transformative experience of taste. I left with the lemon chifon pie, and I just need to say I can't recommend this location enough. If you're in the area or down for a quick drive down Atlanta, birdcage should be at the top of your list!
This place is amazing! Seriously delicious food, good cocktails, and great service. The space itself is cute and has a nice big patio. I ordered the Look at Your Pinky which is essentially an aperol spritz, and my group did the breakfast shot. Not my personal favorite but the bacon it comes with was cooked great. We split the chile lime street corn app which was good. I ordered the mojo tofu with a side of roasted squash. It was fantastic. The tofu was cooked perfectly, the sauces (pink sauce and cilantro cream) were delicious. The squash was perfect as well. I can't wait to come back!
This is a super cute little place that has great vegan options. I was able to chat with the Chef for a little bit and they do everything here with intention. The ambience and atmosphere is absolutely fantastic and if you have ever seen the movie birdcage this place replicates a scene out of the movie. There are feathers that are lights. There is tropical wallpaper. It has been done very well. I had an incredible salad and a cocktail with a friend and we sat on a patio with our dogs. What a great time I will be back for a happy hour very soon.
I had lunch with a friend today. The food is always excellent! I had the blue crabs claws and my friend had the black bean croquettes. We also had a nice signature cocktail too. GO TRY THIS PLACE! Parking is confusing as it's not clear if you have to pay to park in their parking lot. Service was slow today but I believe they were short staffed.

I recently visited Birdcage, a Cuban restaurant, and really enjoyed it! The atmosphere was thoughtfully designed and full of creative details--birdcages used as chandeliers and feathers in flower vases added a fun, elegant touch. Their drink menu is packed with unique options, making it hard to choose just one. I ended up going with the hibiscus margarita, and it was both refreshing and flavorful. For food, we ordered the birria quesadillas, black bean croquettes, sweet potato bravas and grilled squash--everything was absolutely delicious except for the potato bravas. Those were okay but other than that no complaints. Great vibe, great service, and great food. I'll definitely be back!
Went for a Friday lunch, sat on the patio, Austin was my server. He's was beyond HOSPITABLE!!! So many restaurants are missing this type of customer service. He was very attentive, knew the menu, knew what drinks paired well with what food, just such a pleasure. The food was amazing! Hot! Flavorful! Can't wait to return & I live in the neighborhood.
This place pulls you in with the cool esthetics. It's such a fun little spot. we went during lunch, it was slow and the service was good. The food was standard, I wasn't blown away but it was seasoned well and was filling.
Came here for ATL burger week which it was also Cinco De Mayo on a Monday. We got here at 6 before the rush, I could feel we got in right before the rush. They had a lot of staff, yet our server was rarely seen we were outside but I could see him standing behind the bar just hanging around. The food runners and bus boys were crushing it, to pay I just left my card out on the table and a food runner saw it, asked me "who is your server is it the white guy?" She seemed annoyed by him and knew he was slow, so the runner took my card to get it closed out. Their burger wasn't bad, but it was my least favorite of the 7 I tried that week. I like chorizo, but it overpowered the burger and that's all I could taste. We also had the special crawfish quesadilla, pretty good, just not that cheesy. We weren't getting drinks, but man are they expensive 15 dollars for regular drinks and 13 for non alcoholic. Those prices kind of irritate me. The ambience is pretty fun, like flamboyant Miami vibes. Bright colorful and fun. You can sit outside but the patio is no frills. Feel they could do something to make it a bit more welcoming, like flower boxes and table decor. I would try it again, I feel I didn't get their best that Monday of Cinco de mayo. I think a fun spot for young adults. Bottom line: really vibrant spot with good food and expensive drinks.
I am addicted to Firepit so I could not wait to try Birdcage. I visited on a week night. The service was fast, it was not crowded, and the ambiance was gorgeous. The star of the show for me were the crab claws along with the street corn dip and plantains. The garlic sauce with the crab claws were amazing, we even kept the sauce to use for other dishes! The tortillas that came with the street corn had the perfect amount of salt and crunch. Finally, the flaky salt on the plantains were incredible. I had the agave lime ribs and enjoyed them throughly. They were tender and flavorful. I'd prefer if they were a little crispy but that's just personal preference. I am not a spicy margarita girl typically but Birdcage got it right. My hubby had the steak and was just ok. We enjoyed the fish tacos and our friend had a salad that looked incredible. I cannot wait to return for more crab claws and try the brunch one day. They had parking which is really nice in the area. I also absolutely love the indoor decor. The service was also fantastic, with a really attentive waiter that was really patient with us. The issue here was really with the food. While the kale salad was absolutely incredible and I heard the tacos were too from my friends, the other food was only OK. We all agreed that many things felt like they were lacking in flavor or salt. My biggest issue really is with the sweet potato bravas because two of them were so burnt they almost seemed not edible. We couldn't believe that a restaurant would even serve something like that on a plate. The squash was also pretty awful, and I like squash usually. Sad to say it but we won't be returning here. Too mixed bag of meals and very inconsistent quality. read more
We got Salsa Roja (4.25/5) and the Sweet Potato Bravas (4/5) as appetizers. The salsa and chips portion was massive; the salsa was a bit thicker than others but good. The sweet potatoes portion was pretty small, like five bites for $10, but they were nice and crispy with a good flavor. We got tofu (5/5) and shrimp (4/5) with a side of red rice and black beans for mains. The tofu was amazing; it was super crunchy with a great flavor, and there was a ton of it! For just $11, we would get this a lot! The shrimp was also good but nothing too special; I forgot to get a picture of it. The service was good (4/5); we got our food quickly, and our waters were almost always full. The interior of the restaurant is nice and modern (4.5/5). read more

Came in for drinks and an appetizer. The elote dip was different, and I would've preferred more corn in it. Brunch deals were okay but nothing stuck out that I must order. Very sunny and cute within the space. Very friendly staff and quick service read more

NEED to go back and try EVERYTHING! Yall. This place has everything that you'd want. Parking: there is a lot and street parking. Had no issues. Vibes: stunning funky interior with a great cozy patio. Neon, wallpaper, and feathers are a feature. Service: good, pretty attentive Food: ok wow. This all spoke for itself...still dreaming of the steak Jalapeño poppers: perfectly fried, EXTREMELY creamy, low spice, great flavor Ribs: my friend had the ribs and the bone slid right off. So flavorful and juicy. Steak: unbelievable. Flavorful. Perfectly cooked. I couldn't get enough. The sauces weren't even needed but were equally delicious. I cannot wait to get this again! Rice beans and plantains: fresh, flavorful, and perfectly paired to our entrees. We shared all three and that was more than enough for 2 people. Overall incredible experience and I want to try it all! read more

I came to this place after a visit to one of the Oakland cemetery festivals. It was within walking distance and had a patio that was dog friendly so we thought why not. I was very pleased by the menu options and the overall ambience was very relaxed and cute. I ordered the fruit parfait, which is on the brunch menu and one of the specials, the chicken crunch wrap. The fruit bowl was nothing really to rave about, I thought that the queso that came with that was a bit too cheesy and didn't blend well with the fruit. I tried the crunchwrap and it felt very heavy and greasy. It was loaded with cheese and it just had a very oily consistency. I may be back just for the vibe if I'm in the area but probably not the food. read more
ABSOLUTE GEM. Have been reading about Birdcage and we finally decided to go with some friends that had never been. We arrived and they had their own parking which is a Big Plus in today's world. As we walked in you could not miss the beautiful bar and the decor of the restaurant. Beautiful atmosphere. We decided to share a lot of food, as we always do. We ordered: - Red Chicken Tacos with the corn tortillas filled with chicken tinga and chihuahua cheese, then grilled and served with a consommé. Down right addictive. Could have had more. Rating 5/5 - Birria Quesadilla which was layers of Chihuahua cheese avocado, shredded beef, and red onion and sprinkled with cotija cheese and served with a consommé. I liked these more than the rest of the group. The consommé was maybe a bit bitter. I just started using the one that came with the chicken. Rating 4.5/5 - Off The Grill - Agave Lime Ribs(half slab) served with fresh flour tortillas and pickled red onions. The sauces that we picker were the Agave Lime BBQ and the Avocado/Tomatillo. I normally don't like ribs were the meat falls off the bone but this is one exception I will make. These ribs were awesome. The taste was something none of us had experienced. The bark had a perfect char. The sauces that we selected enhanced the taste ' more. Rating 5/5 - Chilie Lime Street Corn which was off the cobb served on top of the queso fresco, sprinkled with cilantro and tajin. It arrived with plenty of great tasting tortilla chips. The components blended perfectly. Another rating 5/5 - Coconut Cream Pie and Lemon Cream Pie. As it was 3/14 Pie day we couldn't resist. We tried very hard to get the price down to $3.14 but weren't successful! They arrived and were beautiful. We agreed the Lemon was better than the Coconut. We also agreed that that should have been served at room temperature so the tastes could be more apparent. Rating 4/5 Service was slow but it didn't bother us because we love to just sit and taste and talk. Atmosphere was awesome. Highly recommend. No reservations taken. read more

Birdcage is a hot new restaurant in Grant Park! Inspired by The Birdcage movie- the decor is fun and colorful. And the food matches! The latin food with Miami flare is SO GOOD. We had an amazing time grabbing drinks and dinner here. I could see this being an amazing happy hour spot. read more

Dropped in for lunch on a Thursday and this spot did not disappoint! Tucked away but easily accessible with plenty of parking, this place is a hidden gem. Everyone was friendly and it was not super crowded. Decor was delightful and reminiscent of a bygone era. I particularly enjoyed the colorful ostrich feathers! Onto the grub... we ordered the kale salad and it was packed with flavor, albeit just slightly overdressed. The red chicken tacos were a simple presentation but again, packed with flavor. The consomme really set it off. The margaritas were delicious and not too sweet. The churros were a bit of a miss (they were served with caramel but also stuffed with it and over-sugared). I will definitely come back for brunch, as everything we saw come out of the kitchen was drool-worthy read more

I simply stumbled across this place while looking for a quick food option while leaving the zoo. The pictures of the food are what sold me immediately. Walking inside this place is so fun and inviting. The waitress basically recited the entire menu to us after seating us, which was nice of her but also a bit overwhelming. That moment aside she was very kind and attentive. I had the citrus adobo chicken with red rice and beans. The chicken was seasoned and juicy! The way it should be! The tortillas were also very good. 10/10 on the food alone. Our server Jackie was amazing! But even before that the hostess allowed me to wait for my friend and offered me some water which I really appreciate it. The ambience is very Florida art deco flamingos in all. I love that they have vegan options on the menu. My friend had a black bean croquettes and fried tofu, which was actually delicious! I had a type of taco which was amazing and so filling I could only eat half. She enjoyed espresso martini, and I had flavor of pineapple. Again, our server was on point. And the food was amazing. So glad that my friends suggested the spot. I definitely will be back to try some of the other things on the menu like the coconut cream pie. read more

I was so excited to try this place. I drove past it and saw the beautiful neon lighting and a coming soon sign and told myself to look up what was coming. The food was really good. It can take a while to be made but it wasn't a long wait. It comes out hot and fresh. And I'm sad I didn't have more time to enjoy myself there. We ordered a set of drinks, the street corn and red chicken tacos. Absolutely delicious. I personally would've liked a bit more spice to the food itself but still tasty regardless. They have a nice variety of hot sauces to add. The patio space has seating but no tables just yet but there is a good amount of seating. It makes for a nice date location or just to meet friends for some drinks. I can't wait to go again and try more food. read more

Second time here.. first time made us remember and know we had to come back! So the first time was their chicken (which literally could be your last meal and you would die smiling!). This time we tried the steak. But first, all caps love on the CRAB CAKES!! Actually crab and not all cake stuff!! And the sauce they use is "yum"!! I believed i would bring home leftovers...uh- Nope! This place is amazing start to finish!! I want to hide how good it is so they don't get overwhelmed- but thats selfish to all my foodies!! This place is the bomb start to finish!! Every pice is served like they care what you think! Our goal is to work thru their menu and start again! Its not a large menu but its so damn right! Chicken is moist and amazing. I would give this place a 3.5 stars if I could. Maybe it was the time of the night, but we did not feel welcome when we entered. It took a minute before we were greeted which was not good. Once we were greeted and seated off to the side. It took a good few minutes before we were greeted by our server, but after he did come, he was pleasant. We order an app of the red chicken tacos and they were delish!! Parking was not a problem. Not sure if we would come back yet. read more
