My Fair Lady Added Tofu Year of the Tiger My Fair Lady

Came here cause I wanted to go to planta, but it's closed. Decided to try this Recess place. The food was not good at all & I'm a healthy eater. The rice was old, the cauliflower lacked flavor, the dressing was not tasty and there was not enough tofu to warrant the upcharge. Expected a lot, disappointed greatly. Will not return, very much giving 0/10. I honestly want a refund. But I'm let them rock.

SELF-ORDER kiosk / iPad. No one to help you if your technology challenged. Good luck!

SERVICE: You order at the ONE self-serve kiosk they have. If the people in front of you don't know what they want or don't know how to use the iPad, then it can take awhile. FOOD: $15 SUPERBOWL (+ $4 added SHREDDED CHICKEN): this is labeled as one of their most popular grain bowls so I had to give it a try. I really liked it! The Tahini dressing was WATERY, so thin. That's my only compliant. Everything else tasted great. Minus the dressing because you can barely tell since it's so thinned out. AMBIANCE: There is no where to sit here, you must take it to go and find a seat somewhere in the market. Very little interaction with staff here since it's self-order and they just call out names and hand out the food.

Good spot in krog for a healthy dinner or lunch! We got the Notorious PIG! It was super yummy and filling. We actually split it between 2 people so it would be a great meal for leftovers as well.

Got the Year of the Tiger bowl (with avocado added) today for lunch! It was incredibly flavorful and well seasoned. My favorite component of the bowl was the beet chips. They gave an ample side of sauce to use on the bowl, but I only ended up needing a small amount because it was pretty spicy. The avocado was a bit pricy to add ($2.50 for a small half of an avo), but I understand that prices are increasing everywhere nowadays. Will definitely return and would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a fresh, healthy, and very filling meal at Krog!

Initially I was very apprehensive about the food items on this menu, but I am beyond glad I gave it a try. I had food from both Recess & Bar Mercado. I was able to taste the following tapas: cauliflower, yuca fries, & loaded sweet potatoes 10/10 recommend all 3. The flavor is outstanding and the presentation of the food is great. Their frozen strawberry mango margarita was phenomenal and very refreshing. For my entree I had the Pancho & Lefty w/ chicken which was delicious and such a great portion of food. Although I am not from the ATL area I will definitely visit again when I am in town!

So so good, fast and fresh food, so many healthy and delicious items, fits well into the vibe of Krog street market and is definitely a must try when you go, the workers are friendly and understanding, one of my new favorites in the city for sure.

Winter is Coming (farro, kale, basil, roasted squash, Brussels, pomegranate, golden raisins, Parmesan crisps w chili vinaigrette)

There were a few options on the menu I was debating between and ended up going with the Winter Is Coming. It was sweeter than your typical grain bowl. It was a nice change of pace. I wish it had a little more sauce or something so it wasn't so dry. But overall it was a tasty meal.

Very interesting menu. Generous portions. Great service. Good cocktails. Well priced. One star off because the food was really good, not amazing. I'd definitely return.

My Farro Lady Bowl (with Sweet Potato and Salmon)
    Tiff H.

I'm a huge fan of the Castellucci restaurants and just realized that Recess was one of their many successful ventures in Krog Street Market (AND Bar Mercado?! CHG going places!). We received some coupons for any CHG restaurant at a recent Yelp event so we decided to make a trip to Recess to try them out! There's a cute bar area you can sit and order drinks, including their frozé! I decided to skip on the drinks, especially since you can only order them if you sit at their bar. The lady at the register recommended the My Farro Lady but I couldn't decide between that and the Super Bowl. The sweet potato caught my eye, but I couldn't stop eyeing the kale pesto on the My Farro Lady. She suggested I order the My Farro Lady with sweet potato, which she allowed for no additional charge! I also added on some salmon because I do like some meat for protein! It is a little pricier that way, but I do know good quality salmon does cost about that much to add to any salad in most places. I loved the My Farro Lady! I liked the kale pesto and I really like farro grains. The salmon was cooked to perfection. Overall, I will definitely need to come back to try the bar menu, but in the meantime, I love the healthy option that Recess offers at Krog Street Market.

But that could just be the bite I had because my friend really liked it. I love the okie dokie(?) sandwich because I love artichoke hearts. They're def on the smaller side but quite economical so grabbing multiple is easy. However the interaction with the staff and the handling of my order threw me completely off and unfortunately dampened the actual experience of the food. For someone who had ordered online and already paid, it took WAY too long for me to get food that was already prepared and sitting on the counter. I walked in and it was almost like no one wanted my money. One of the staff passed by me to go outside and ran into me but didn't address it at all. Not even a "whoops". The young man behind the bar was casually talking to another customer who was clearly on their way out. No problem, until it became a problem. I stood there for several minutes not knowing whether to interrupt their convo, and once I realized I wouldn't be addressed otherwise I decided to just butt in. I work in the service industry and truly could never imagine leaving a new customer hanging like that. Mind you, I wasn't even in a rush and was enjoying my rainy day... which should let you know how ridiculous this interaction was. To make matters worse, they literally just threw the sandwiches in a paper bag. I don't mind minimalist packaging. But this was just disrespectful lol. All the sandwiches were just mashed together and deformed and unsightly once unwrapped. Unfortunately I don't remember any of them because they just weren't memorable. The interaction in the restaurant didn't make it any better. I've seen comments that some of the young (mostly white) "hipster" staff can be oddly passive aggressive to certain clientele... usually I don't agree with those views but man that day really made me think they had a point. First and last time. No bueno.

I loved the caramelized jalepeno slices since they added it beautiful hint of spicy sweetness to the dish. The bread has a nice chew and it does not get soggy fast. - CONS: Not that special. I dont know why it's "korean" since it tasted like a normal cheesesteak but with a few jalapenos. I also wish they added in more jalapenos (I got like 3). 2) Garlic Fries with Ranch: - PROS: Very nice texture with a crispy outside and fluffy inside that is not too dense. The flavor comes from the garlic mince that is on top. The ranch is like a mixture of an aioli and tartar sauce (I think they make it in house, correct me if I'm wrong). - CONS: Inconsistent texture as some of the fries were dense but a few had that good hollow crisp bite. Quite oily too. Overall, I enjoyed the cheesesteak but would probably skip the fries next time. I do believe it is good especially the bread. I don't think it is worth all the hype it gets, but it is good.

As soon as she dropped their name, it was an immediate yes for me. I have heard, seen and read so many great things about the food and service, it was about time that I visited. Located at Ponce City Market, finding the restaurant is incredibly easy and there's lot and street parking all over. We visited on a weekday afternoon and I snagged a parking spot easily, and strolled right in. Necessary Purveyor is beautiful! It reminded me of a little French bistro. There are a number of tables all over and it's seat-yourself style. I grabbed a table as I waited for Sierra and took some time to look around. I love that they have fridges setup that have wine, beer, different sodas and juices, picnic needs and even some of their chicken salad and pastas to go. So many options! To order, guests must line up and order at the register and then your food is brought to your table. When I first entered, there were a number of parties sitting down but there was still space. As noon rolled around, it got thick in there! I could tell that the lunch rush was on and wow, did Necessary Purveyor get hit. But the team handled everyone so smoothly, the guests were patient and were rewarded by a swift ordering process. For lunch, Sierra went in knowing that she wanted their chicken salad as she said it was her favorite. I opted for the Mexican wrap and that bad boy was huge! All of the wraps that I saw coming out were massive. I'll definitely be back for a chicken caesar wrap! I loved that we could see all of the food being prepared behind the glass. Everything was delicious and I can't wait to go back!
