We found La Semilla on google maps as a highly rated dinner place, and we decided to try it out. We were greeted and seated immediately upon arrival, and our server brought us water almost immediately as well. We put in our orders quickly since they were closing earlier than expected-- the kitchen's HVAC system was down, but that didn't stop them from caring for us! :) We also got the food in a seemingly record breaking time. The beans were a tiny bit too spicy for me, although I'm sensitive to spice. My boyfriend enjoyed them very much. The lemon that came with the beans was so incredibly juicy?! It was so fresh. My Crunch Wrap's flavor was awesome, and the sauces were fantastic (although be aware for those with nut allergies, there are cashews in a lot of the sauces). I put some more chips in the crunch wrap for an extra crunch. The Cubarrito was . I wish there was a little more pico in it though. The Cubarrito was my personal highlight of the evening!! The texture... the flavor... all of it really hit the spot. Overall, this was a great find. I'm personally always open to trying something new. I have never been opposed to trying vegan food--I hope those who are reluctant to try it, give this spot a chance!

Don't know why it took me this long to try this place but it was so worth the wait! This restaurant is all plant-based, but their cocktails are also top notch. I did make a reservation and would recommend. We got there 15 mins early but were seated right away. We ordered their agua Fresca of the day (peach) and juarez (pretty much like an old fashioned with mezcal). For food, we ordered the fried mushrooms (my personal fave - the cracked black pepper elevated this dish for me), Crunchwrap (their most popular food item and tasted just like the real thing), cubano (another one of my faves, the pickles were so good and the melted cheese!!!) and chochoyote (very very rich dish but super comforting). Overall, we loved everything we had. Service was good. We were so full by the end of our meal and skipped dessert. We will definitely come back for more! They do validate 2 hour parking at the Modera parking deck, which is a plus!

Truly one of the best vegan/food experiences I've ever had. 1000/10 to be frank. The service was impeccable from arrival to departure. They truly care about your interests and how your experience is going throughout the entire experience. The decor and vibe is beautiful and very picture perfect. Would highly recommend for vegans and non-vegans. We ordered the following: Beach Bunny cocktail Flora mocktail Sikil Pak - spicy salsa Fried Green Tomatoes - a must! Delicious, crunchy, refreshing, saucy, etc. Mantequilla beans - very well seasoned & cooked Carne asada tacos - amazing taste Al pastor tacos - different and juicy Peach empanada w/ ice cream - the most perfect dessert

Omg! Just what I was looking for while visiting Atlanta . The best plant based Latin food ever. We had croquetas that were smoky and delicious, fried yuca and a Crunchwrap. We also had an apple empanada with ice cream and an agua Fresca which was apple cinnamon for the fall. The atmosphere was beautiful. Really cool place. Our server was great! She made really good suggestions for our meals.

I've visited La Semilla twice - once for a sit down meal and again for dinner at the bar. My favorite is the Cuban but we ordered 3 - 4 other items, including the taco crunch, shrooms and grits + plantain & dessert empanada. Overall, the food is great. The ambiance is nice and the location is convenient.

I drove in traffic for over 1 hour to dine here so I had high hopes. We ordered the queso blanco which came with chips, the carne asada tacos and the crunch wrap. Everything was delicious although the carne asada tacos were excessively greasy and the portions are on the smaller side. Unfortunately it seemed as if the bartender was having an off night because I had to send my mojito back. My partner and I were a but surprised by the small business fee that was added to our bill. This was our first time seeing this in Atlanta.

Cool Hip Trendy Latin Vegan bistro sitting @ the Decatur-Midtown intersection. Rocks it :) A v attractive chill place when hanging w ur significant other, or multiple dorky amigos. Do yourself a favor and immediately get on their 'Handhelds' section- Crunch Wrap: You'll never know it meatless with the Seitan beef on a tostada; Cubano: Another alt-meaty Seitan ham delectable. Angelica outdid herself in charm, knowledge, recommendations, & service. A true asset to the establishment and its patrons. Will certainly b backs for their Guava Caramel Flan..

I came in with high hopes of this place as its famous vegan spot. Overall the presentation on food was fantastic and has some great vegan Latin American Spanish food options. However the price is high and quantities average for what I was hoping. Nevertheless if you have diet restrictions do give this place a try. Maybe I went on an off day.

La Semilla is a great restaurant! Notice I didn't say "Great Vegan Restaurant" although everything here is vegan. I feel like calling it a vegan restaurant takes away from it. I ordered the lions mane, the cubano, and the crunch wrap. Honestly everything I had was really good. The Cuban is one of the best Cuban sandwiches I've ever had. Vegan or not! The interior of the restaurant is beautiful and the bar is so elegant. I will most definitely be back, and you should go too. You're welcome!

First impression visit at 6:30PM on a tuesday. Entrance A suite within the building if the apartment complex Modera. Medium black sign and the letters are in cursive in white. This place was very difficult to find while driving. Parking Paid parking lot. Street parking across the street for free of you can find a spot! Pros Fresh flowers at the table! And tea light candles Water poured upon arrival. Lovely calm and quiet atmosphere. Very cute very demure. IG worthy decor. It gives a clean and wholesome vibe. Happy hour on certain cocktails until 7:00PM. Staff very kind and attentive to your needs. Cons As stated before this place was very hard to find. I had to turn around a couple of times to find it. Additional LED signage outside would be an ideal solution. Would I Recommend Yes, I would definitely eat here again. Especially now that I know where it is at! A fantastic vegan option. La Semilla located in Reynoldstown and serving up plant based Latin food. There is parking in a garage and the restaurant validates parking so make sure you bring your ticket inside. Reservations are recommended however you may be able to grab a seat at the bar on a slow night. I love the décor and aesthetics but I'm not a fan of the grade school chairs, they are very uncomfortable. I keep returning to this spot for the amazing dishes. I've tried almost everything on the menu so I was pretty excited when I came this week and was able to try a new dish. The fried mushrooms in a green mole sauce are FIRE, you receive this yummy mole and 5 lions main fried mushrooms for $17. It's under the appetizer menu but I could definitely enjoy this as a main entrée. SO GOOD!! I also had my favorite salsa in the city, Sikil Pak $7, I really want to bottle this up in a jar and eat it at least three times a week. It's the perfect balance of savory and spiciness. I ended up ordering the Cubano $17 for my entrée but was craving the crunch wrap but you can't go wrong with the Cubano. This was so much food I had to take the Cubano to go. No worries, heat this up in the air fryer and it's still so good, this is probably one of the few jackfruit dishes that I enjoy. Overall another great experience at this Latin restaurant.

An Unforgettable Plant-Based Latin American Experience - Just WOW First things first--reservations are highly recommended. We arrived without one around 6 PM and luckily found a spot at the bar, but trust me, you'll want to ensure you get to try this food. The experience at La Semilla begins as soon as you walk in. The tropical vibes, perfect lighting, and exceptional service set the stage for an unforgettable meal. Our bartenders were not only quick with drinks, menus, and the bill, but they were also incredibly helpful, going over the menu with us and guiding us through their top recommendations. La Semilla is a plant-based restaurant inspired by the flavors of Latin America. Think of Latin American staples--croquetas, yuca, Cuban sandwich, empanadas--but elevated. Every dish we tried was either good or downright extraordinary. The al pastor tacos were fresh, the Cuban sandwich nailed the classic flavors, and the roasted carrots were simply to die for. For dessert, we tried the apple empanada, a delicious mix of textures and flavors that left us wanting more. Just writing this makes me want to go back! Without dessert, we spent around $50 on food for two and left completely satisfied. All in all, if you're after a unique dining experience with flavor combinations that will blow you away, La Semilla is an exceptional choice. Just remember to make a reservation! My Criteria: 5 stars: The best food I have ever had, or an excellent option given the price. 4 stars: Good food, a restaurant I look forward to trying again. 3 stars: Good food, a restaurant that I am indifferent to. 2 stars: Below average experience, will not go again. 1 star: This restaurant should be closed.

Crazy that I'm just now reviewing La Semilla after I've been probably five times. I love that this place has nostalgic (dare I say "low brow") options like a Crunchwrap supreme. It takes me back to my high school days of eating Taco Bell at 3am. Now though, I'm sitting in a modern Cuban spot where everything is made from wholesome ingredients. Honestly my favorite thing here is probably the nachos with the "meat" crumbles added. Every texture and flavor profile is covered. These never miss and it's a large portion IMO so perfect for sharing with a friend. So not only can they do that, but they can do more elevated dishes as well. I've had the enmoladas and thoroughly enjoyed them. A few nights ago I got to try the lion's mane wings served over like a gravy. Oh my goodness, this dish was near perfection. The gravy might've had a touch too much salt, but other than that, no notes. The mushrooms had a thin, crispy coating and I love that it wasn't oyster mushrooms for once (which tend to have that oceanic taste to them). There's no doubt ill be back to enjoy new and old items alike.

Forgot to mention the deliciously smoky beans

It was a rainy day and my dad and I had arrived before I started grad school at Ga Tech. Our server was an Electrical Engineering student at Tech. It was appreciated after the typical chaos of moving to a new city that he happened over here my dad and I talking and he shared he went to Tech. Over the 2 decades since, I've brought friends who live here and from outside the city to enjoy the great serving and kitchen staff. My wife and I have been many times including on the restaurant's anniversary night last fall. We are sorry to hear the landlord has decided to raise the rent and sell the property. Heather has been our server multiple times. She was our server tonight as we celebrated my wife's birthday with her parents, aunt and sister. From calamari to the desert platter and entrees in between, the food was incredible. The fried lobster tails are a must. The mouse has been my wife's favorite for years. The one note is Jacob the General Manager needs to learn to trust his servers. At the beginning of the meal I let Heather know despite being a party of 7 to just bring the check to me and I'll settle up with the other guests via Venmo. And, at as we were finishing dessert, Heather came by letting me know the next party for our table was had arrived and could she bring our check. I said yes. While Heather was getting our check ($490 Food & $600+ after tip) the Manager came by telling us we needed to finish up and have our check brought. When I asked the Manager to not make this an unpleasant experience and that coming by after Heather had just communicated the situation and I had agreed she told me I should share this feedback with the General Manager. She, Jacob (GM), and I stood on the front patio where I explained what I'm sharing now: Trust your Servers. He said they were front facing and so the management likes to meet the guests. Having your Manager tell us we need to get our check and leave is not the way to meet your guests. Chef Jack and his wife (the owners) are hospitable and trust and appreciate their staff. Jacob having his Manager micromanage the servers management of tables is nowhere close the focus on service the owners have had for 26 years. I hope that Jacob and the Manager take this as a learning moment that if you hire talented people your trust talented people to bring their talents to their job. Sure it was busy. But, that's why Chef Jack hired the staff he hired. Jacob the GM needs to increase the communication with his talented team instead of using the excuse of being front facing to ever overstep their bounds on the relationship his servers have built with his guests. Heather introduced herself when we sat down. Jacob did not - nor should he have. Heather did a phenomenal job making us feel welcome, have food and drink we enjoyed, and even recognizing my wife's birthday with her favorite desert. And when the time came she handled coordinating bringing the bill and having us free the table so a new group could enjoy an evening at Agave. Jacob and the Manager need to trust their staff more. Micro-management is never a good look for your staff's morale or your guests' impressions. Please go see them for Jan 31st 2026 when they close. The servers are all wonderful as are the owners. And the food is like nothing else in Atlanta. The management simply needs to trust the talented staff from front to back of house with whom they get to work. If they're ever in doubt if a server is either providing the level of service they expect or turning tables at the rate needed to keep pace with reservations then talk to the server. The server needs to own their tables. Management should truly be of service to their staff - and you can only do that with trust and communication. Customers should never know management had a single question if the sever was doing what's needed. Because it's a bad look to come by twice about being the check. Especially when the 2nd time is in between the 1st ask if they could and the server bring the check. Of note, I already had my credit card out so that I could hand it to Heather as soon as she returned with the check. And in front of the manager, I handed Heather my credit card. Everything else was great. But, why rush guests?

I could have happily ordered a full bowl as my main dish and left completely satisfied. For my entrée, I went with the Original Paella. Overall, it was very enjoyable and nicely seasoned. The flavors were there, and it was definitely pleasing to eat. I will say, I was expecting a bit more protein. Everything tasted good, but a slightly more generous portion of protein would have taken it to the next level for me. I'd give the paella an 8/10. We also tried the Enchiladas de Pollo. The flavor was definitely there -- the seasoning and filling were enjoyable -- but the tortillas didn't seem as fresh as I'd hoped. Because of that, the enchiladas lost some of their structure and would fall apart before you could really get a solid bite with your fork. It didn't ruin the dish, but it did take away a bit from the overall experience. The atmosphere was really nice. They offer seating on the first floor (inside and outside), plus a second-floor outdoor option. If you're worried about being cold upstairs, don't be -- they have ceiling heaters, which is a thoughtful touch. We went during lunch, so it wasn't too busy, and it felt relaxed. I can only imagine how charming it must feel at night with the city views -- I'd definitely love to come back in the evening to experience that. The food came out quickly, which is always appreciated, and parking wasn't too bad to find. I could see it being a little more challenging during peak hours, but for us, it worked out well. Overall, I'd give this place a 4.2/5. I'd absolutely return -- especially for that chicken soup -- and I'm excited to explore more of the menu next time.

I ordered the Macarrones con Trufa, Gambas Al Ajillo, Picanha Churrasco. The Macarrones con Trufa was absolutely delicious and swimming gooey cheese! Highly recommend as well if you love truffle--I ended up ordering a second one of these because of how delicious it was. The Picanha was also a huge winner! This is by far one of my favorite cuts of meat. It's super juicy and they do a great job of rendering the fat. Bonus point for adding chimichurri to it. I also ordered a second helping of this one. As for the Gambas Al Ajillo, it was just ok. The shrimp was cooked really well, but the flavor lacked the strong punch of garlic and spice that I'm used to. Now I will have to say that the service at the beginning could've been a tad better, but I realize the were dealing with a situation that occurs often in restaurants. My friends and I had a reservation, but the table they were going to seat us at was still occupied by a group of people that stayed much longer than they were supposed to, so we had to wait. The manager came by to help us out, so we wouldn't have to wait too much longer and offered us a table that was outside but not under the tent. Thankfully, it was not raining, and we had a great view to people watch on the Beltline before our food would come, so we didn't mind at all. However, as soon as we sat down, we noticed that one of the legs of the table was broken and unstable, and we were worried that it may collapse. The manager came back out and apologized, but he stated that our original table was still occupied by that group and he didn't want to have to ask for any customers to leave. By some miracle, that group ended up leaving a few minutes later (if not, we were honestly planning on trying out a new restaurant since that table outside was unstable). The whole thing left us with a sour taste, but that was immediately quelled with how amazing our waitress was! She was super attentive and personable overall! I honestly just removed one star for the above experience since this seemed to be a one-off incident.
