The food was made fresh to order and tasted delicious. I would go back for the Bahubali Sandwich any day of the week! The service was quick and efficient. The restaurant itself was clean and neat.
I've been to the location in Johns Creek/Cumming, and we decided to bring my family friends to this one for dinner on Thanksgiving! There was quite a rush when we arrived around 9:20, but luckily were able to snag tables and seats for 8. We ordered 1 Thali, 3 Rava Masala Dosa, 1 Masala Dosa and 2 Bahubali sandwiches. The thali, masala dosa and sandwiches arrived pretty quickly, and the rave dosas took 10-15min more to come out. The sandwich was really tasty and had a potato filling and sauces and cheese and was quite filling! We were easily able to split the two sandwiches between the 8 of us. The fries on the side were perfect and crispy on the outside while soft on the inside. I really liked the masala seasoning on top which made it easy to eat without any sauces. My dad liked the thali and all of the curries it came with, and honestly it was enough food for 2 people. The rave dosa was my favorite, but I think the other location had a tastier potato masala filling. I did wish it came with more chutney, but each dosa was more than enough for 2 individuals. Overall, it's nice, but I definitely think the other location has a better ambiance and bit tastier food!
We tried this restaurant for the first time, and really liked the food. We were seated right away but the place got pretty busy and full within minutes. This is definitely one of the most busy restaurants in the area. We tried a different items such as Pani puri, dahi puri, samosa chaat and dabang dosa. The dabang dosa looks very delicious in the photos so I wanted to try it but I didn't like it much. It was too cheesy for me and the sambar wasn't all that either. But the owner or person helping us was very nice and offered me anything else from the menu. I really appreciated his kindness and nice attitude. Service was super quick and we didn't have to wait for the food for long. See photos of everything below. The ambiance is nothing special; it's an average looking place to enjoy some Desi snacks and street food. I will definitely return to try their pav bhaji and other things on the menu!
I am on vacation with my family. We went here for lunch. Although it was busy, our food was relatively quick. There was a longer wait for a dosa. The food was overall great but there are a lack of seats. You can claim a table after you've placed an order. While eating, it felt like we were on top of other people.
This is one of the most famous Indian chains here in the US and a very good one in terms of food quality and service. I have tried in the New York and quite happy to find this restaurant here in metro Atlanta right next to Indian grocery stores. Honestly this Honest is a disappointment. I have been here 3 times and all the 3 times they have had very ordinary customer service from the time you bill/ pay till you get your food. This is considering the level of care and attention that other Honest gave me and the level of customer service the neighboring restaurants (Chaatpatti, Gokul Sweets) offered me. Coming on to food. We ordered a plate of Bhaji Pav, Cheese Pulao and one Masala Soda. Easily and undoubtedly the quality and taste of the food is outstanding. I am not denying that any cost. Bhaji Pav: was good but not the best. The buns were sweet and had relatively less butter. The Bhaji was great with the butter topping. Cheese Pulao: was the best of the lot I have tried here till date. Amazing Pulao with shredded cheese on top and super tasty! Masala Soda: was as expected and definitely not worth that price. The ambience has always been dense and crowded most of the days. A very busy restaurant. The service is just okay as mentioned before. Could be a lot better. If someone's on the line waiting to place the order, I would attend that customer than attending who just barged into the line and start taking their order. That's when respect and customer attention comes into play and this restaurant lacks the ability. Secondly running a big chain, I'm not sure the wait time to get your food takes so long at this place. BOTTOMLINE: Just an usual chat place Indian restaurant. I would rather prefer going to it's neighbor Chaatpatti than visit this place due to average customer service and long wait times to get your food. Food is great but not worth the wait for 20 minutes on weekdays to around an hour easily on a Weekend late noon time. MY PICKS FOR YOU: Cheese Pulao
I came here on my way to buy Indian groceries as my friend had recommended it. I'm South Indian and always looking for great idli and Vada, and this place delivered! The Pani puri was standard and tasty. The coconut chutney was likely from the day before and the green chutney was just ok. The sambhar was delicious as were the vadas and idlis! It was a ton of food so I brought a lot home. I wish they made an idli/vada combo instead of having to get a giant plate of each. I did also get pav bhaji to go, but it's still in my fridge so no comment yet. The service was ok. It's counter service and you remove your trash on the way out.
There is a reason this place is always crowded. It does have decent chaats and indian vegetarian food. But I'll be "honest" it's not the best I've had. The cheese pav bhaji is worth trying but everything else is just fine. I particularly didn't enjoy the service because it's always rushed. And it's not the cleanest restaurant. I had the bahubali sandwich which was huge and came with fries that I didn't enjoy. I will revisit only because my husband likes the pav bhaji here.
Finally got to check out Honest food place in Patel plaza! They tend to get busy over weekends. You are not allowed to occupy a seating station until you order food and have been assigned an order number. Honest serves indian vegeterian food including sandwiches and street food. We tried the bombay sandwich, dahi puri, falooda. The food was fantastic! Service is a bit slow but worth the wait for the food. Decent prices for the food but drinks felt very exp.
Had been recommended this restaurant by many Atlanta natives. Restaurant was packed and there was a wait even around 8pm. Food overall was outstanding and was totally worth the wait. Pani Puri: Tangy with a bit of heat and hit the spot! Dahi Puri: Very creamy with the addition of sweet yogurt. I wish the dish had a bit more heat to it but was very good! Dabang Dosa: The sambar and chutneys accompanying were amazing. The dosa was good but the addition of cheese was interesting and I don't think it worked very well for me. Presentation of the dish is cool for sure Pav Bhaji: Classic dish and made very well Rava Masala Dosa: this dish took 25-30 minutes to arrive but well with the wait. The dosa was crispy, the masala potatoes were cooked very well and the sambar/chutneys complimented the dosa very well. Highly recommend!!
Honest is one of the place for me to go whenever you are craving something comforting. I love the food over here. It is little chaotic as it is a small space with way too many people but food and staff is really nice. I love their rava masala dosa, pav bhaji and vada pav. Thali is also good. I was introduced to Honest by my coworker who is of Indian descent. I am not vegetarian but I don't miss the meat. I was introduced to a couple of entrees and I have expanded to trying out various items that I've seen ordered by other customers. I especially love trying out the platter as it is a sample of various entrees and I love the various flavors. I am terrible with remembering the names of the items but I can describe it and the staff is great and will work with you. It doesn't matter what day or time I come to Honest as it's always almost packed. However, the food comes out quickly and the customers eat and leave so if if you have to wait, it's not very long. This is one of my go to Indian restaurants.

Wow just wow just wow Great vegetarian dishes. I believe it is meat free but not gluten or dairy free. Ordered the Bhaji Pav and mango lassi. Great flavor - a little spicy for the weak....like me. It came with toasted bread which was PERFECTLY crispy and soft. They take cash, they charge a processing fee if paying with card. Food is served with disposable utensils and dishes. Beat dosa I have ever had!! The exterior was flaky and crisp and it was filled with a savory potato and vegetable filling. It was accompanied by a spicy lentil soup and coconut chutney. I need to come back to try their pizza and fries. read more

The dosa was amazing and really hit the spot at this veg-friendly Indian establishment in the Patel Brothers Plaza. It is definitely enough for 2 people to share - though I didn't realize that when I ordered too. No regrets though as I took the other one home for later. I also ordered an Indian pizza as well but no photos of that as it was inhaled too quickly. Great place! read more

Good self serve vegetarian indian food restaurant. Authentic Indian cuisine and cheap on the wallet! We ordered the punjabi thali and a masala dosa. Both the items were tasty and the portions meal sized. We have tried this place on numerous occasions and one of my favorite items on their menu is the bahubali sandwhich. You can't go wrong - if you want some cheap Indian street food (Mumbai street food to be precise), this is the place. They have Pav Bhaji, Sandwiches, Pizzas, Vada Pav, Chaat to name a few, all with the authentic touch. I have been here numerous times and it's always crowded. Your order and then find yourself a table - largely self service. While it is vegetarian only, I wouldn't get disheartened. The food is totally worth it (best vegetarian you can eat). Prices are very reasonable for the quantity and quality. It is located in Patel Plaza. While parking seems plenty in the lot, given that there are numerous businesses in the Plaza, it can get busy during the evenings and you might have to fight for a parking space. Rather than explain the contents of each dish I have eaten, I will unequivocally say that you can't go wrong with anything they have on their menu. They are most well known for their Pav Bhaji (bread and ground potato/veggies will spices) and their sandwiches. You can ask them to adjust the spice level to your liking and the staff is very friendly and helpful in making sure they accommodate your needs. My favorite additions to my order are the kulfi (Indian ice cream) and the paan (betel leaf with a sweet filing usually eaten as a digestive). The kulfi and paan they have are better tasting than I have found across all the shops in the Plaza. In summary, Honest is my go to place for a quick snack or a meal, when I'm around the area. I highly recommend you try them out the next time you can! read more
My parents love Honest for their Dosas, and I was excited to try it for the first time when we went for Mother's day. The restaurant was quite busy because of the holiday, but we were still able to find a table. The place is counter service and self-seating, so it is a casual experience. I ordered the Mysore Masala Dosa, which has potatoes, onions, and Mysore chutney. It was incredible, especially with the sambar and side chutneys that they provided us. I will be going back to Honest just for their Dosas, but they also have a diverse selection of street food and popular dishes. The service was great, everything was served promptly and as described. My parents didn't like their Dosas as much for some reason, and when they gave their feedback to the owner, he apologized and offered us Mango Lassis. I was impressed by the care and thoughtfulness, especially after my parents said they didn't want any compensation. Overall, I would recommend Honest wholeheartedly! read more

Honest is honestly good! This was the first Indian place that I tried with my family since moving to ATL, and I wasn't disappointed. We got 2 Punjabi Thalis and an order of idlies. The gentleman was friendly and let us know that it would be a 20-25 minute wait. Our food came within 15 minutes which was a pleasant surprise! Fast service despite the lunch rush time. As a native Punjabi though, none of the dishes in the thali were actually Punjabi, but they were tasty! I'd recommend naming this just a plain thali for that reason, but other than that the food was good. Portion size and value for the price were both amazing here, I loved the fact that they included all things savory, sweet, and a cute sized mango lassi! I'd definitely come here again, it's great vegetarian food in Patel Plaza. Reading the reviews over, I will definitely try the pav bhaji and some of the chaat options here next time. This review is for takeout only! Came in here on a busy Saturday evening as a craving for Indian street food. Being from Mumbai that has been a staple that I have been lucky to satiate in Atlanta! The place was bustling with life but service was prompt whether dining in or taking out. We ordered the bhel, Dahi puri, pav bhaji and chaas( salty yogurt drink)to go. I loved that they asked if I wanted the bhel and dahi puri packed ready to eat( all ingredients mixed) or to eat later. If packed ready to eat and not eaten right away because of the wet ingredients it can get soggy and doesn't too great. I loved everything we ordered! The food is spicy and flavorful so if you can't handle spice make sure to ask for mild. I didn't ask for it to be spicy but it still was. The dahi puri was my favorite followed by the pav bhaji and bhel. The chaas was a great way to cool off in the warm weather. Overall: would definitely come here and try the other offerings! read more

I have to say I love going here. I did not grow up eating Indian Food, However trying it on my own I am in awe. I love it. I have tried a couple of things on the menu and I am vegan so I'm glad to have these options so definitely VEGAN friendly. I recently tried something new: Masala Pav with Bhaji (Pav (Bread) filled with vegetable curry (Bhaji))- it is was sooo good, it was the right amount of spice. It was different and definitely I am getting good. I also got the Masala Dosa (Rice and Lentil Crepe filled with Potatoes, onions and spices) Something new I tried as well: Honest Sp. Pulav (Steamed Basmati Rice with signature spices and vegetables with a twist of different spices w/ nuts and raisins. I definitely recommend to try these options if this is your first time trying Indian cuisine or even interested in different flavors which are strong and taste amazing. You will love it. I will say my favorite is the Honest Thali that you can request Vegan and it comes with a different bit of curries which makes everything come together perfect. 10 out of 5 stars if you ask me!!!! read more

We went for snacks at Honest last weekend. We ordered Pav Bhaji and Pani Puri. The service was good and we got the order in 5-10 mins. Pani puri's pani was little spicy but the standout was pav bhaji. Amazing Pav Bhaji and this restaurant is known for Pav Bhaji. One must definitely try Pav Bhaji at this place. read more

An instant hit. So much of a hit, that I had to come back next week and have more. I mentioned to my Mom that we should go to Chopaati for lunch. (Chopaati was, of course, the restaurant that used to occupy this space.) I was bereft when she said Chopaati had closed. Truly! Where can one get a decent Gujarati meal around here, anymore? Still, we were hungry, and decided to make an experiment of the new place. We were not disappointed. Let me add to this last sentence: It is very hard to make Mom happy when it comes to eating anyone else's Indian cooking. **And she loves this place.** Ingredients were fresh, as was the cooking. They're making everything fresh to order here. We couldn't detect any shortcuts. Whatever they're doing back in that kitchen, they're doing it very well. Honest is a franchise which started operating as a simple street cart in Ahmedabad back in 1975. Let me tell you, this is the real deal when it comes to Indian Street Food. Super casual. Deliciousness in every bite. We ordered a big handful of things to taste. Among our favorites: Samosas - Again cooked fresh to order, served straight out of the fryer. The crust is perfect. The filling is spicy in all the right ways without being obnoxious. Served with the ubiquitous sweet and mint chutneys. As always, a crowd pleaser. Idli & Sambar - These steamed rice cakes are being made fresh for each order. I cannot tell you how rare this is, but it is rare. Most places will partially cook a bunch of idli and then warm them up for each order. Not here. Freshly steamed and served with a savory sambar. This made Mom smile. Pizza - I don't know how to describe this pizza. I thought they might put it on a naan, but it's not. The crust is excellent and unobtrusive. Not too crisp and not too soft. The sauce is tomato based with something different about it. (I can't put my thumb on it.) They've put fresh veggies on the one I had: bell peppers and onions. Topped with the expected layer of cheese, and this thing was delicious. Aloo Mutter Sandwich with Cheese - Now this caught me by surprise. An instant crowd pleaser. This thing was a triple-decker sandwich with aloo mutter and some other sauces / ingredients in there. Tasty, spicy, and just right. It totally hit the spot. Dahi Puri - This is the "traditional" side of Indian street food. Small, crisp puris filled with chopped ingredients and yogurt. Topped with fine sev noodles. Pop one in your mouth. It's easy to see why people like them. The place has gotten a total physical makeover from the Chopaatti days. Still casual and comfortable. Music easily fades into the background. There are many other tasty-looking things on the menu. We'll certainly be going back for more. Holler if you're coming with. read more
This is some of the best indian street food I've had. We've gone there two times now and our experiences both times were great. You order at a counter and then they bring out your food as it's ready. It's come out pretty quickly after ordering (5-10) minutes and they let you know if it's going to take longer. Everything is made fresh. Staff is also friendly. As for the food, my favorite is the cheese pav bhaji and then vada pav. Beware that the 'spicy' level here is really spicy. I normally have to stick with medium spicy. The cheese on the bhaji is so good. It comes with seasoned onions and amul butter buns. Be sure to order some extra bread (pav) so you can finish the bhaji. The vada pav isn't on the menu, but you can order it with bread and chutney. It comes with red, green, and sweet chutney. Hubby loved his bakri pizza and pav bhaji. Other things were tried that were also good: dahi pani puri (on the spicier side, but still really good) and potato cheese grilled sandwich. We'll be back for sure. Just hoping the food quality and taste stay consistent. read more
