I've tried quite a few Po'boys from here. I've had the grouper, chicken tender and the shrimp, but my absolute favorite is the cheeseburger Po'boy. The burger blend that they use is so good. The remoulade sauce definitely takes it up a notch, but I prefer my Poboy with mayonnaise and they can make it that way. I've never eaten upstairs but downstairs is huge. There's a really big bar. There's a lot of high top table seating. They have arcade games. It's just a great space to enjoy time with your friends. There's plenty of TVs to watch any of the sports games that are on. The bartenders are nice and they really take care of you. Honestly, I think there's something for everyone on the menu. They also have desserts, but I'm not a big fan of the ones that they have. The Po'Boy Shop in Decatur does exactly that. I had visited before and tried a few different po'boys to go, and they were great, but this time I decided to stay and watch the Saints game. That completely changed the experience for me. The atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for--Saints fans, good energy, football on the TVs, New Orleans food, and a crowd that was actually invested in the game. It felt like a legitimate gathering spot for the Who Dat Nation rather than simply a restaurant that happens to show football. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the restaurant was clean and comfortable, and once again, the po'boys delivered. It's hard to beat watching the Saints with other fans while eating a good New Orleans-style po'boy hundreds of miles away from Louisiana. What I appreciate most is that The Po'Boy Shop gives Saints fans around Atlanta a place that actually feels like our spot on game day. Cubans are passionate, affectionate people by nature, and for us, food has never been just food. Food is family. Food is memory. Food is home. Every summer when I was growing up, we made the long 12-hour drive from Atlanta to Miami to visit my dad's parents, his four older brothers, all of my cousins, and our Cuban family and friends. We usually broke the trip up into two days, staying in some cheap little motel somewhere around Gainesville and, later, Ocala (we had more money by then and felt like royals going from Days Inn to a Hilton.) And as kids, we always knew when we were finally getting close to Miami. We started seeing Cuban restaurants pop up here and there. Then came Calle Ocho. Croquetas. Pastelitos. Empanadas. Medianoche sandwiches. The smells. The sounds. The flavors. That feeling of, we're here. And when it was time to make the long haul back to Atlanta, everybody in our Cuban family who lived in Georgia already had their requests ready. Our car would literally be packed with boxes of pastelitos, especially pastelitos de guayaba y queso, to bring home and share. Because back then, you simply could not find that kind of authentic Cuban food in Atlanta. For years, that was how we brought a little piece of Miami -- and really, a little piece of Cuba -- back home with us. Then one day, my best friend Alicia , una Cubanita TREMENDA, took me to Buena Gente. I remember walking in and immediately thinking: Oh my gosh... I'm in Miami. The smell hit me first. Then the food. Then that familiar feeling I quickly realized I missed so much. Buena Gente didn't just remind me of Cuban food. It reminded me of my grandparents. My cousins. Those long summer drives. Calle Ocho. Boxes of pastelitos stacked in the car for the ride back to Atlanta. It felt familiar in a way that is hard to explain unless you grew up with food tied so deeply to family, culture, and memory. So when I tell you that I take Cuban food seriously, I mean it. And Buena Gente gets it. For this Atlanta-born Cubana, walking through those doors felt a little bit like coming home. AZÚCAR!!!

SNS has totally messed things up with their new burger. 100% Grass Fed is not always good for every beef recipe and Smash Burgers is not one of them. The grey hamburger patty came out at less than half the size of the bun. There were no crispy edges on either burger. Sometimes you need a little fat in that meat to achieve a good smash burger. Come on SNS, your patties are 2 ounces. The old blend of three cuts of beef couldn't have that much fat once cooked. The burger was dry, tough, chewy and tasteless...well I shouldn't say tasteless because that would be an improvement. Are you trying to appease the MAHA people in Washington? Trust me they don't give a poop about SNS. Sometimes ones need to stick their basics of what made them great. That's why great places survive.
