    Samosa chat and gobhi manchurian

I try to avoid rating Indian food joints. I'm somehow apprehensive in not being balanced and too critical. I grewup in India which possibly has the best street food in the world. At gokul I tried some of the popular dishes i.e. samosa chat and cauliflower Manchurian. Manchurian is not a Chinese dish but an Indian starter. I would rate the Manchurian slightly better than samosa chat. Overall the food is between 3 to 3.5 stars. I miss indian Street food so may come here again, but only if I'm missing it a lot.

Gokul Sweets in Decatur is an absolute disgrace to the culinary industry. We went there based on reviews and being a vegetarian restaurant. The food was so inedible that it ended up in the trash can even though we were hungry. The hygiene standards were shockingly low, with a server blatantly ignoring basic cleanliness protocols by serving food after eating without washing their hands. The sight of the restaurant's AC duct dripping onto served food areas was simply nauseating.

ATL is lucky to have a Gokul Sweets in town. Overall the food at Gokul is solid but the one dish that my family and I love is the Pani Puri. The reason we enjoy it so much is because it's basically like a stand back in India, it also helps that the lady who served us was super nice. Pani Puri is bursting with flavor with the different spiced waters - you eat it whole and when you bite into it's just a ton of flavor flowing in. Check out this awesome experience you can have in ATL - but fair warning this is for advanced Indian food eaters.. many friends of mine who love Indian food have tried this and thought it was too much so perhaps start with one before you get a whole order of 6!

I don't know how you could love anywhere else more. I come here when I'm celebrating, when I'm sad, when I'm angry-- doesn't matter. This food will make me smile no matter what. The panEer tikka masala will make you sing. The Mysore masala dosa will have your mouth water. The chole batura is so good I think I shed a tear. The batura was the size of my body. The price is slightly on the more expensive side but it's worth every penny. They have a pani purii by the door. They have a small paan shop. It doesn't get better than this. Anytime anyone from out of town comes, I take them here. You HAVE to try it. The best part is that it's in an Indian complex so you can go experience tHe places around and grocery shop

Gokul Sweets is an humble joint featuring vegetarian Indian dishes and various traditional desserts with booth seating. The first location of Gokul Sweets was established in the year 2002. The name Gokul Sweets was derived from Lord Krishna's birth place in the village of Gokul, located in district of Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, India. All Indians missing their delicious sweets from their native country, can feel at home by making them a visit. They have amazing food that will fill your heart with joy. They provide sweets for all occasions and also accept online orders. With more than 200 varieties of delicious sweets, you will be able to purchase products from their web-store and have them delivered directly to your door-step. The quality of services offered to the customers are unique and first class. They provide the best food, with fast and friendly service. Here are some of my favorite dishes that you should try: 1) Wada Pav - Spicy mashed potato ball, dipped in chickpea flour batter and deep fried to perfection, stuffed in an Indian bread topped with our special combination of chutneys. 2) Gokul Special Thali - A serving of three vegetables, three rotis, dal, rice, dessert, farsan, raita, achar and papadoms. Served weekends only. 3) Pav Bhaji - A specialty from bombay of uniquely curried mixed vegetable served with a special Indian bread and finely sliced onions. 4) Pani Puri - Crunchy puries with boiled potato bits, chick peas, moong and topped with a special pani puri masala and served with a tongue tickling tangy flavored mint water. They do have ample free parking in front of their restaurant and it is conveniently located in Patel Plaza. The food is amazing. The service is great. They keep the place very clean. They were very nice and helpful. Kind of a cafeteria/bakery feel but the food is more home cooked. Definitely brings memories of India back every time I eat there. I always walked out of this place with 100% satisfaction. If you are in the area, please do give a try and you will not be disappointed. I will be going back soon to try more from their extended menu.

Hard pass. First mistake, ordering South Indian food (masala dosa) at a North Indian restaurant. If you want masala dosa I prefer the cafe inside cherians. They had a weird red coloring inside which looked like hot Cheetos powder. My friend ordered chana bhature, not highly recommend either. She recommended the chaat next door for a better chana bhature. I probably won't come back. I ate maybe a 1/3 of my dosa and threw the rest away. I hate wasting food but I'm not going to force myself to eat that.

Lot of options to choose from but only vegeterian. Dont have much to say but food wasnt the best. The place next to it serves better food. Also some menu items are over priced. We tried their hakka noodles, scheuan noodles, manchuria, falooda. None of them were good. Also one of the service guy working there wouldnt listen if you had any questions. Wouldnt recommend this place at all.

Entrees come with NO rice or bread. I spend 20 dollars on 2 entrees, when I get home NO rice! I wish I could leave zero stars.

A very differently tasting food serving restaurant with all the flavorful North Indian main dishes…read more(Vegetarian only) at a very reasonable price and a pretty good ambience, then this should be the place for you. Would have gone past this building a 100 times and never did I notice this restaurant. Got here because someone recommended and it was very much worth it. Dine in at 7:30 PM was great with very less crown on a Thursday. THE FOOD: We ordered the North Indian Thali (says it's available until 3PM, looks like it's available through the dinner time as well). Was served in a nice Wooden board with Rice, Achar (pickle), Boondhi Raitha, Tandoori Roti (was soo good), Aloo Gobi masala, Shahi Paneer, Chole, Dhal Tadka and Paapad. The Chole was tasing so different and I guess it's the Amritsari Chole. The Shahi Paneer was top notch and Dal tadka as well. AlooGobi was super spicy but the taste was good. The single Roti piece is definitely not enough I feel, and would require another to complete the thali. Slightly pricey there I feel. We also got a AlooTikki Chaat and that tasted really good. The quantity was pretty much good for one person. I would say the spice levels were spot on. Not too much spicy (Honest these days are making it very spicy) or bland. Good quantity and sat well on the tummy. And literally did see a family enjoying their food very much and gave a very nice feeling while we were waiting for our food. SERVICE & AMBIENCE: The ambience was very much nice with all colorful wall paintings and aesthetics and wall hangings. Well lit. But there was some unpleasant smell that was kind of bothering us. I wish they address it. It wasn't crowded and the food arrived in less than 5-10minutes of ordering. The parking could be a concern. The staffs were very much courteous and polite. BOTTOMLINE: If you are in for a slightly Delhi based food flavor, I guess this should be your place. The curries are delicious and the restaurant is family friendly. Slightly pricey in my opinion. Would definitely visit here to try out other things. MY PICKS FOR YOU: North Indian Thali, AlooTikki Chaat, Chole curry
