Contrary to popular opinion, this is actually my favorite place in Georgia (and specifically this location because their quantity and quality is top tier). I always make a trip here whenever I am visiting home. It's not the finest dining establishment, but the food is delicious. The place itself is a little dingy with odd seating, but I love it. You order at the front and they bring the food out to you. They also have a pani puri station which I have never tried but looks like it was super popular. My go to order is the paneer 65 ($10). I have never found a place that makes paneer 65 the way they do! It is cooked perfectly and the flavors with the onion and chutneys is delicious. We usually always order the chole bhatura ($12) as well, and it is a great classic. Their pakoras ($8) are so good too, and somehow taste amazing after the fridge as well. My brother always gets samosas ($5) here, so if you are a samosa fan, you should def order one. The only thing I am not obsessed with is their dosa ($12), but I'm quite picky with my dosas, so that's probably just a me problem. The highlight of our trip this time was their new menu item - Paneer 65 ($11) wrap!! It was slightly hidden on their menu, and I wouldn't have noticed if my brother didn't point it out, but we ordered it and it's my new favorite menu item. Had a craving for some classic Indian foods and went to Gokul Sweets since we were grocery shopping nearby! Got the pani puri, Gokul special chaat, and falooda to go. Tbh they all held up pretty well; good portions too. If you get pani puri or a chaat to go, you will have to assemble them at home on your own so it doesn't get soggy en route; but this is part of the fun haha! Pani puri comes with cilantro water, tamarind chutney, diced white onion, potato & pea mixture and a big bag of puris (crunchy shells). This was the perfect balance of sweet, spicy, savory, & refreshing, definitely get this. The chaat was decent; comes with puris, yogurt mixed with cilantro & tamarind chutney, chickpea mixture, sev (crunchy topping), diced mango, pomegranate, and a lentil donut covered in yogurt. Falooda (creamy rose flavored drink with toppings like nuts, vermicelli, & chia) always hits, even when the ice cream has melted lol. This is a very casual spot with styrofoam dishes and plastic ware but the staff are friendly and there is large variety of things to choose from. I like the kadai paneer and samosa chaat, chai (unsweetened), with some jalebi, gulab jamun, malai jam and mango barfi. I try to avoid rating Indian food joints. I'm somehow apprehensive in not being balanced and too critical. I grewup in India which possibly has the best street food in the world. At gokul I tried some of the popular dishes i.e. samosa chat and cauliflower Manchurian. Manchurian is not a Chinese dish but an Indian starter. I would rate the Manchurian slightly better than samosa chat. Overall the food is between 3 to 3.5 stars. I miss indian Street food so may come here again, but only if I'm missing it a lot. read more

Their sweets are better than their food. Not all their sweets are great though so it's trial and error to get it right. My favs that I keep getting from here are (the others are lackluster IMO): * Kaju Roll - those who like Cashews. Dense but delicious. * Barfi - dense milk sweet in various flavors (milky fudge) * Peda - also a milk sweet but less "fudgy" than barfi * Milk Cake - as the name suggests, just a different preparation and taste * Anjeer Roll - made with dates and sugar You enter and you see a display of sweets. Usually, you can ask for help and taste a few sweets, or ask them to mix and match a box for you. Price is very reasonable and I think their fresh sweets are better than any store bought box. If you are looking to order food, there is a separate section within the shop to do so. At peak busy times, it can get chaotic so make sure you find your way around. In general, this is still my go to place for the sweets I listed above. If I was looking to get some Indian food, I would probably pick some of the other restaurants around. read more

ATL is lucky to have a Gokul Sweets in town. Overall the food at Gokul is solid but the one dish that my family and I love is the Pani Puri. The reason we enjoy it so much is because it's basically like a stand back in India, it also helps that the lady who served us was super nice. Pani Puri is bursting with flavor with the different spiced waters - you eat it whole and when you bite into it's just a ton of flavor flowing in. Check out this awesome experience you can have in ATL - but fair warning this is for advanced Indian food eaters.. many friends of mine who love Indian food have tried this and thought it was too much so perhaps start with one before you get a whole order of 6! read more

The food was so inedible that it ended up in the trash can even though we were hungry. I don't know how you could love anywhere else more. I come here when I'm celebrating, when I'm sad, when I'm angry-- doesn't matter. This food will make me smile no matter what. The panEer tikka masala will make you sing. The Mysore masala dosa will have your mouth water. The chole batura is so good I think I shed a tear. The batura was the size of my body. The price is slightly on the more expensive side but it's worth every penny. They have a pani purii by the door. They have a small paan shop. It doesn't get better than this. Hard pass. First mistake, ordering South Indian food (masala dosa) at a North Indian restaurant. If you want masala dosa I prefer the cafe inside cherians. They had a weird red coloring inside which looked like hot Cheetos powder. My friend ordered chana bhature, not highly recommend either. She recommended the chaat next door for a better chana bhature. I probably won't come back. I ate maybe a 1/3 of my dosa and threw the rest away. Really love their food. Eat there about once a month. It is always busy so go before 6pm for dinner or order ahead for take out.

I do not generally go to Gokul to have a meal. I generally go to buy Sev noodles (they make the best ones in the area). I use the sev noodles at home in place of other things made of grains. I also sometimes buy other snack food or boxes of sweets to take to parties. You really can't go wrong with any of those snack items stacked up along the wall. There are many ways to exploit your tastebuds here. Five stars for the sweets and the snacks. For their vegetarian meal options, three stars. I have eaten here before, but there are other places nearby that get more of my attention. Among their winners are the falooda, the pani puri, dahi puri, and the bhel. I know other people like their dhosa and the uttapham. I have never been a fan of their saag paneer. And for those of you who are into the whole Indo-Sino fusion thing, they do have some "Manchurian" influenced items on the menu, too. read more

If you like vegetarian, sometimes clear your sinus spicy, Indian food that good...well... come here! This place is big, it has many items you could eat, I've tried my fair share of stuff: dosa, club sandwich, vada pav, samosas etc and most things are good! Everything isn't great but I feel a solid 4 Stars. My parents also love this place and go here when they come to town. The falooda is some of the best I've had. They have a wide selection of sweets too which I have not really tried except the jilebi and ice cream. It's located near Patel brothers and there is parking but be warned on weekends it gets packed. Best Indian street food and purely vegetarian food. It is a dream place for vegetarians. If you are looking or craving for Indian street food then you should definitely try this place. The place gets crowded as it is near to an Indian grocery store. Our favorite is Chole Bature and Raj Kachori. The size of the batura is very very big. The Pav Bhaji and Kesar Falooda kulfi are other favorites at this place. They also have a live Pani Puri stand which you can try. They also serve Indian sweets aka Mithai and Namkeens Once you are done with the meal you can enjoy the Pan. Overall a decent place to try Indian street food. read more

This place is located in a the Patel Brothers Plaza, an area with tons of Indian food and goodies! There's a lot of Indian restaurants and places that sell sweets just like Gokul. As soon as I walked in, I was overwhelmed with the amount of food they had for sale at their counter/bakery. So colorful and full of foods that you're able to choose from... so awesome! We ended up going to the counter to order a masala dosa. This thing is huge! I didn't think it would be that big but it was a lot to share for 2 people and we were both full. The dosa is stuffed with curried potatoes and they give you two sauces/soup to dip it with and both are super tasty. Overall, I had a good experience and thoroughly enjoyed the dosa! read more

True to it's name, when you take a step inside gokul sweets, there's just walls of sweets and snacks all over the place. Amazingly I didn't get any of them, but still managed to really enjoy myself. I actually came here because I was waiting on an order next door at Chat Pati, but wanted something to drink while I waited. Customer service was super friendly and not only went through their drinks with me and gave me recommendations, but they were able to custom my drink by leaving seeds out when I bought the Rose Lassi ($2.99). While I waited, I also got an order of garlic naan ($1.87) The Rose Lassi looks like two scoops of ice cream swimming in a cup of rose falooda. Inside the drink also were noodles, which i've never had in a drink, but didn't bother me. This was more of a drink than dessert, but man it was delicious! The garlic naan came with two pieces, was slightly thicker than what i'm used to, and wasn't just a flat piece. Naan here was much softer, thicker, and pretty flavorful! Located next to Chat Pati, in the popular Patel Plaza, anchored by Patel brothers, parking at this vegetarian Indian bakery is pretty easy to find. Getting out of the plaza by car onto Church street is also pretty easy It's another great find with fresh and plentiful flavors with quick and helpful customer service. I gotta try this place again when i'm looking for some more snacks. For now, everything so far has been great! Hopefully that continues! read more

My bf decided to bring me to this Indian place based on his previous experience with his Indian colleagues. This is a very casual Indian dining place. We were probably the only non-Indians in there, but we felt fine since we love Indian food. We walked up to the counter to place our order and found a booth seating while we waited for our orders to get called out. We didn't bring an Indian friend along, so after MUCH thinking and discussing and asking the cashier person, we decided to get these three. Ordered: 1) Gobi manchurian - tastes great at first but then the spice catches up to you and it became TOO SPICY!! We had to eat it with the dahi puri to be edible, but eventually I even dunked it in water to remove surface oils/spices. So beware and/or avoid eating this as your first dish. 2) Dahi puri - a very cool, tasty and refreshing dish to complement the gobi manchurian. The flavor of the yogurt and stuff  was a bit too sweet and flavorful for my bf, and these two dishes caused him to prematurely lose his appetite... 3) Mutter paneer - My bf was disappointed that it was not as tasty as the kadai paneer, which is what he had when he went with his group mates on a previous visit. It was OK, but he thought the peas were oddly still "solid". Our experience may have sounded terrible, but everything is very flavorful, just not in a way that our palate was mature enough to appreciate yet. Our adventurous side got the best of us, and we learned out lesson. We definitely still want to go back there again to try as the food seems very authentic, but with an Indian friend or two. There's a bakery to the side for you to check out some Indian sweets. There's also a small shop attached near the entrance that sells CD/DVDs and other miscellaneous things. read more

Two Gokul Sweets in Decatur and right across from each other?? Yes!! I was planning on going to Gokul Sweets off Dekalb Industrial Way after heading off to Sona Imports. I had to get my Hindi movies! I like going to Sona Imports cause the owners know me. I've been going there since I was 5 years old. My mom took me and that's how I got hooked to Hindi movies and it hasn't stopped since then :D The new Gokul Sweets is a couple doors down Sona Imports. It's in the shopping center as Patel Brothers. This is Desi Town! It has grown so much since then. I see a new location of Chinese Dhaba and Royal Sweets too. The setup at new Gokul Sweets is just like the other location, except the sweets/desserts are located on the left hand side instead of right. There is definitely more people at new location, maybe because of the convenience of it being in Desi Town. My favorite Indian sweets is jalebi. I've had jalebi from many other places like Royal Sweets and Rajbhog Cafe but no one makes it like Gokul Sweets!! Love it. Ordered many sweets along with some food like Schezwan Fried Rice and Pani Puri. Still so good. I love Gokul Sweets. Seriously do not miss the meat when coming here. read more

This is hands down my favorite spot for Indian food in Atlanta. I have been here so many times and the food never disappoints. Make sure you tell them if you don't want it spicy, because everything is made pretty spicy! All the chaats are prepared very similar to the chaats I've had in India. My few favorite dishes are paneer 65, schezuan fried rice, paneer tikka masala, mysore masala dosa, dabeli and the samosa chaat. If you like paneer, you have to try the paneer 65 because it is amazing! I have not tried the sweets, but I do like the kulfis they have in the small freezer. It's usually busy, but it's a laid back place that now has a pani puri stall in case you want to snack on some pani puri while waiting for your delicious meal.
