Fried green tomatoes and hushpuppies! EXCELLENT
    Judy M.

Oh my goodness! If you haven't tried Fork in the road on LaVista in Tucker,GA then you are missing OUT! Three besties went today and we are so glad we did! Arriving at 11:45 two of us went in and grabbed a table bc the other was arriving at noon. The staff was calling out #38 by the time we left 2 hours later, they had called to 100 started over and was calling 70 when we walked out! 132 orders! Place was hopping! Three people at the front counter taking orders, calling orders and I don't know how many in the back cranking out the food BUT EVERYTHING WAS PHENOMENAL! Service was outstanding so was the peach tea yum! I ordered the Polly plate wanted to bring home food for dinner. It came with 2pcs of fish I chose catfish, 4 shrimp (I got 6) a huge mound of fried crawfish so so good and one side I chose fried green tomatoes for an up charge all that for $23.99. I also got an order of hushpuppies for the table and everyone took home at least 4 each plus what we ate! Little balls of perfection! One friend got the 2 pcs catfish and fried okra as her side which she shared and of course, scrumptious! The other friend got Polly's platter too except he got fried oysters instead of crawfish and fries plus an order of fried green tomatoes. There was a ridiculous amount of food on our table. We ate until we were stuffed then bagged up the rest. My take home was enough for both myself and my roomie for dinner and both my friends had enough for dinner! This place is EPIC and I can't wait to go back!!

They still got it going on at fork in the road. I haven't been eating out that much lately but today I do not feel like cooking so fork in the road hit the spot. The fish shrimp and fries were delicious. I haven't had one bad experience for the years that I've been eating here!

    Very reasonably priced meal

The place was hopping when I stopped by during lunch. It is a fried food heaven which is what I was hoping for! I ordered the fried shrimp with a side of onion rings and hush puppies. I am still scratching my head on the shrimp... I think it was pre cooked a bit, then breaded, and then fried. The texture was a bit off putting. The sides were wonderful! The staff was very personable. They were cranking out to go orders, pick ups, and dining in...

It's sad when you end up at the same restaurant twice in one week and then realize you've been three times in two weeks. But here we are. I found this little jewel after scrolling through the great Yelp reviews and decided to give it a try. Clean. Consistent. And incredibly price-conscious it almost feels like they're looking out for you personally. I walked in thinking I'd grab a little snack and I paid actual snack prices! The sides are super reasonable, and once you finish being shocked by the cost, the quality hits you next. Everything is good good. I've gotten the Charleston Fishwich twice in two weeks, and both times the fish was fried to perfection, crispy, generously portioned, and no signs of old grease or anything questionable. I haven't ventured into the healthier options yet. I've been minding my business with the fried foods and grits for now. The ladies (and gents) at the counter are all super friendly. They take your order quickly, you wait for your number, and then they open your box like it's a little reveal moment and ask what sauces you want. I'm so impressed by the food I watch everybody else's reveal moments so I can see what they're getting. No attitude, no rushing, just genuinely kind, polite service that makes you want to come back. And I will because it's that kind of place! Cafeteria-style setup, but warm, friendly energy and great food. I'll be back.

This is one of my favorite places off Lavista Road. I've actually been dining with Fork in the Road since 2010. Back then it was at Northlake Mall where Dugans is now located. I was sad when Wendy's on Lavista closed but excited when Fork in the Road took its place. The menu is almost overwhelming but there's too many good options to choose from. Whatever you're in the mood for is most likely on the menu. You can also dine in which I sometimes do vs takeout. The manager is amazing! He gives great service every time I go. His employees are efficient and polite. Some of my favs are the Sweet Cream Cornbread, Southern Fried Chicken Salad, Wings, Tenders, Fish, Alfredo pastas with either Chicken or Salmon. There's enough seating and the decor is simple enough. It's not too loud so you could have a low key date night without all the frills. Just good food, good conversation and a budget friendly outing.

This place is a local favorite. They get busy at times but the staff is always hard at work. They also give a 5% discount if you pay cash. I have been trying their healthier options lately. Through multiple visits I got to try the Cali Salad, Grilled Cajun Catfish, Garlicy mashed potatoes, spinach and mushrooms sauté, and grilled Red fish. Everything tasted amazing. I just can't stay away from this place. Parking lot is small but there is always a spot available.

Located @ 3892 Lavista Road Tucker, GA 30084 Health Score 97 = A on 11/19/25 Today we ordered Fried whole Chicken Wings, Fried Shrimp, Fried Okra, Spinach and Mushrooms, Fried Green Tomatoes and Cajun Fries all very reasonably priced. Cierra, was our order taker and she was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. This was our first time eating here and she was very patient while explaining the menu options. Ty, passed out my order and she went through each item to ensure that nothing was missing from our order. This was on a Wednesday afternoon and the restaurant was very busy with customers coming in and out picking up orders and dining in. The food is cooked to order but they offer a call ahead option for those who are interested. Tip: If you choose to dine inside, bring a jacket it was super cold inside to me. R&B music pumping through the speakers makes you feel right at home. Overall, our experience was great The Customer Service from Cierra and Ty was great. The food was delicious. It was everything for me!!! Trust me, I will be back soon!!!

Fried chicken salad OMG!! Awesome!! So much chicken!!

Random choice for dining and was pleasantly surprised!!! Worth the wait!! We got there at 11:15 am But by the time we finished our meal the parking lot was full! Saw lots of pick up dinners going out!!

    Carolina Salad...I think..

In the words of Tony the Tiger...."Grreeaaatttt"!! When I tell y'all this "whole in the wall" spot was BUSSN, BUSSN!! Let me paint the picture right quick: Went here for my Father n Law's Bday (he chose it by the pictures), and when we got here everybody (except me) was disappointed and really just ready to find another spot. Oh, but that quickly changed once we got our (6 of us) food! Everybody's whole entire mood changed!! They were very shocked to say the least that the food was as good as it was!!...I however, wasn't...I knew it was gonna be good just by how crowded it was when we pulled up..and I had already read the reviews! I got the Carolina Salad..I think that's the name of it. When I tell y'all this salad was the best salad I've had in a LONG time!! I had been wanting a good salad for the longest and this one "quenched my salad thirst"! My husband got the fried Catfish...bussn! Seasoned to perfection and crunchy-unchy! Anyway, needless to say I've already planned to go back in a few weeks..just at a different time so we can get better seats and parking! Oh, FYI, the parking lot is small and so is the inside!

What are the vegan options available?

Other than various salads and some vegetable sides, there aren't that many other options for people on vegan diets. Fyi, some of the veggie sides are dunked into a batter, then fried.

It's been a few years since I've dined at Marlow's, but their HH deals brought me in. I sat at the bar, and maybe they were in the middle of a shift change bc it took a while to get greeted and service throughout my experience was slow. I had to wave them down, ask for refills instead of the bartender being diligent. The bar was full, but at one point I saw one of the bartenders texting, so they had time to check on guests. I'm also in the service industry , so I may notice these things more than the average person. Anyways, their happy hour is one of the best I've come across. $5 margs & $6 old fashions to highlight a few items. I love a happy hour with food AND drinks. The food here is still as solid as I remember. I had the kettle chips and wings. Wings were not sauced, but very crispy and came with dipping sauce on the side. The chips were hella good! Crispy and the toppings were great. I had those two appetizers, 3 margs and a creme brûlée for under $40! That's a win, this will be one of my go-to spots for sure.

We quickly found a spot up front and entered. Nobody was at the host podium for a minute and then someone came around and greeted us warmly. We let him know we would like a table for three outside. He said that would not be a problem, handed us menus and said head outside to pick our table. After a few minutes our very friendly server, Patricia, came out to greet us. We quickly reviewed the beverages.. I was happy to see they had an extensive beer selection. I ordered a Creature Comfort Bigger Dreams, Wifey ordered a Mango Cart and my daughter ordered a Kingston Peach frozen drink. The drinks came out quickly and then we were pretty much ready to order our food. Wifey ordered Barbecue Nachos with turkey. I ordered 10 wings, all drums, with a mixture of 2 flavors: the Peach BBQ and Pineapple Chipotle. I picked Tatter Tots as my side. My daughter ordered the Sweet Heat Salmon bowl. She said they had her at "Coconut Rice" in the dish description. We sat outside and I noticed there were TVs everywhere. Perfect set up for a warm afternoon. Before we knew it, the food was coming out. I loved my wings and was happy with the flavors I chose. Wifey commented her nachos could've been a little warmer, but she really enjoyed them. I tasted a corner and agreed they were very good. My daughter could not stop raving about her Salmon Bowl. The coconut rice lived up to her expectations and brought everything together. We were finishing up our food and were ready to close out the bill. The problem was our server was nowhere to be found. We waited and waited, I eventually had to wave down another server to find her and let her know we were ready for the bill. We still waited and waited and then I had to go inside and wave her down myself to let her know we wanted a couple togo boxes and the check. This place was a solid 4 to 4.5 before all the trouble chasing down our server. Even though service fell off at the end of our visit, Patricia was nice when she was around and my daughter was still raving about that bowl hours later. She ate the whole thing. She thought she was gonna have enough to pack it up, but while waiting for our server she kept picking at it and next thing we knew it was all gone. Overall a mixed bag but more good than bad and I would return when in the area. 3.5 Rating

It's located right in the heart of downtown Tucker, with plenty of parking on the side and a spacious interior, including a private dining room for large parties. We came around 2:30 PM, after the lunch rush, so it wasn't too busy. The setup is cafeteria-style -- you grab a tray, walk down the line, and let the servers know what you'd like. Everything is à la carte, with entrées around $6-$8 and sides about $2.50-$3, so you're looking at roughly $15 per person for a full meal -- not bad at all. Everyday they have a different set menu of what they serve so you get a mixture. We ordered a bit of everything. I'm a big meatloaf fan, so I had to try it -- but unfortunately, it didn't live up to my hopes. It didn't look very appetizing and the texture was overly ground and slightly gritty because it was a bit dry. It comes with your choice of gravy or marinara sauce, but honestly, I would've preferred some classic ketchup on top instead. The fried fish was mostly batter with very thin fillets, so there wasn't much substance there either. The country fried chicken, however, was the highlight -- large portion, well-cooked, and flavorful. Just note that once you add the gravy, it loses that crispy texture and becomes soggy. The sides were decent but nothing memorable, and the bread and hush puppies were pretty dry. Since everything is counter-service, there isn't much staff interaction. You pay upfront, find your own seat, and when you're done, you just leave your tray -- there aren't any trash cans to clear your own table. Overall, the experience was just okay. It's a neat place with history and friendly vibes, but the food didn't quite hit the "soul" level I was hoping for. There are definitely other country-style spots I'd try before coming back.

Occasionally when seated out on the patio my partner and I have waited a while for food or to see our server, but the food is always tasty. I don't fault the servers for this, they're all really accommodating, sometimes it's just that busy! The drinks are also consistently strong & delicious, our favorites are the Mason Jar Margarita and the Tucker Tea (bourbon & sweet tea). The prices for cocktails are excellent and I hope that doesn't change any time soon. For eats, my partner gets the Steak and Frites, and would like people to know that if you tell this kitchen you want it rare, it'll be very rare bordering on bloody, so if you want on the rare side without it mooing, order medium rare. The Fish & Chips are good, but I usually go for the chicken tenders because they're tender and well-seasoned, and the fries are really good too. I get it with the delicious house-made ranch. When I indulge in an appetizer it's the basket of fried jalapeños that pair great with the aforementioned ranch and is a great portion to share with friends. If you aren't into the spicy vibe you can get a basket that's half jalapeños, half pickles which is equally tasty. I've brought plenty of people here and from the salads to the burgers, they've been consistently happy with the food. For desserts, they change daily- check the big chalkboard on the wall for the day's offerings. They source them from Southern Sweets Bakery so you know they're delicious. Parking is a little iffy but not terrible, you have the options of Main St, the parking lot around back, or the strip of parking across the street and between those options it tends to be fairly easy to find a free spot. The quesadilla was not completely filled to capacity. I wouldn't order it again though. The chips and salsa that came with it were terrible. The chips tasted like those fried chip things you put in your won ton soup at a Chinese restaurant and the salsa was inedible. It tasted like it had gone bad or they just make a gross salsa. The best part was the fried basket with pickles and jalapeños. Those were very good except $10 seemed a bit high for this appetizer. $7 or $8 would make more sense.
