The service has always been really great, and the owner is genuinely nice and always ready for a pleasant conversation. But sometimes the food comes out... average at best? I really only come here when I have the taste for mediterranean fare but don't feel like cooking it since it's so nearby. There are some things they do well. I like their baba ganoush, hummus, and beet salad. But other things are a bit lackluster and the meats can be a hit or miss. Sometimes it's dry, other times it's succulent. The pita is toasted, but you can surely tell it isn't made fresh. My husband is obsessed with wings and even he said the wings served here are a BIG no. Also cannot recommend the fries, as they've been notoriously dry and cold. Perhaps we should not have expected good wings given that it's primarily mediterranean fare lol. The parking situation is also abysmal. They share a really small lot and the individual spots are poorly marked. This place is off of Briarcliff and the traffic is notorious for being bad, so that makes coming and going that much harder in a lot that's already a little treacherous. When the parking lot is full, it is like playing 2-ton Tetris. I'll also note that the hours can sometimes be a suggestion, and they unexpectedly close earlier than indicated (but will leave a handwritten note). This place seems to be a local favorite. The prices are nice. I just wish it was more reliable with taste and quality.

Never had convenience and quality come together so beautifully. The food, the service, the ambiance are all fantastic. I was torn between shawarma and lamb shank - the staff recommended the lamb shank, which I'm happy about. It was fall off the bone tender. They could have gone heavier on the spices but they give you sauce (tahini and garlic mayo-ish). The bread was amazing too... fresh, fluffy and warm. The food came out super quick. There's plenty of seating - it's a large space with many booths and tables. The decor is lovely. I wish they were playing some Arabic music to round off the experience. There's ample parking in the lot. If you're wondering if the restaurant is Palestinian - it is. I asked the staff lol. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu before I leave Marietta.

There was indoor and outdoor seating and we chose to sit outside as it was a beautiful night. We had amazing service, great food, in a really cute neighborhood. We were especially impressed with the staff, and we had a member come out more than once to check with one of the people dining with us who had food allergies to ensure that how they were offering the food would be safe for her. It was also impressive that this restaurant was so busy on a Monday night. There were three of us dining, and we didn't even order any of the meats, and there was plenty of food for us. From the Mazzes, we had the Omani Shrimp, which had a great dipping sauce and the Beet Carpaccio. (they were very accommodating and put the whipped feta on the side). For the Spreads, we did the hummus with mushroom, shisito and egg, which was amazing and the labneh with pickled fennel on the top. It's served with taftoun bread which I would describe as a mix of a cracker and pita with sesame on top. We also enjoyed a raw vegetable dish with radish and the most delicious apple slices. Their heirloom tomato salad was beautifully presented and plentiful. They had a flight of condiments and we were able to sample zhoug, spicy tahina and torshi, which was a mixture of pickled vegetables. We ended with a pistachio lava cake with the most delicious cardamon gelato. Overall, we had an amazing meal in their beautiful outdoor space, and we thought the food was really reasonably priced. There's something for everyone on this menu whether you're vegetarian, vegan or a meat eater.

We were greeted by smiles and a welcoming team at the host table and I quickly appreciated the Mediterranean charm of the restaurant -- I felt like I could have been in Rick's Cafe Americain or the Blue Parrot! The dim lighting offered a great blend of intimacy and privacy, while still letting me see the people at my table and the food! And the food! My goodness, the food! We had a wonderful sampling of shared appetizers. The hummus and Dill labneh were solid and would have been deemed more than worthy by my Lebanese grandmother! Olives were a revelation, and were done in a preparation that included pomegranate which paired really well with the brine of the olives! The star of the first round, however, was the whole cauliflower, roasted and spiced. Without reservation, I can say it is the most I have ever enjoyed cauliflower - and I shall return for it again! I was already full by the time my falafel arrived for my main course. Falafel was exactly as it was supposed to be, and it was good. I ate it all, and then, a la Violet Beauregard upon leaving the chocolate factory, had to be rolled out of the restaurant! Our server and his food runners were all gems! The manager also came by to chat with us a couple of times. Great people at Delbar!

Mark specializes in Arabian and Half-Arabian training, so most of the horses here (including mine) are Arabians. Mark is a well-known and very respected trainer in the Arabian community. However, I have a friend who boards her warmblood mare here because Mark is so great at foaling out, and another person keeps their Friesian in training with Mark. Hey, a well behaved horse is a well-behaved horse! Mark is meticulous about cleaning and maintaining the property. You will NEVER find any unsafe footing, downed boards, broken fences, etc.- everything built here was well-planned out. For example, the barn has dirt floors, which Mark maintains very well, to help the horses walk (sometimes they slip on concrete). I was skeptical at first but it really is less nerve-wracking to handle a nervous horse on dirt than concrete. There are trails and an indoor arena with three round pens, but no outdoor arena.

But when they moved to Georgia, I was so elated that I had to go and do another trail ride with them. The drive to Clayton was quite scenic, with lush greens and beautiful mountains to look at. It is about a 2 hour drive from Atlanta, but definitely worth it! Their new barn is in a residential area, with some beautiful trails heading to the mountains. The ride to the mountains was so peaceful and relaxing, and ability to trot and canter the horses was amazing, giving some added thrill to the ride. I was so happy to ride Tripoli again, who is a very beautiful and sweet white Arabian gelding. He was responsive to my commands, and was quite forgiving when making a mistake. While Tripoli's trots are a little bouncy (though, can be posted pretty easily), his canters are as smooth as a rocking horse. Ken is such a friendly and amazing guide. He really helps you learn how to control the horses correctly and helps the timid riders gain their confidence on the horses. While he makes safety of the horses and riders his highest priority, as long as the horses are up for it, and he find it safe to do so, he lets you trot and canter almost anytime you want (the only time when he suggested against it was going downhill for obvious reasons ;) ). The horses here very sweet, friendly, and well taken care of. They get fed twice per day, and get plenty of breaks during and in between the rides. They all love having treats, so be sure to bring carrots and peppermints. They will treat you even extra nice if you bring those. :) The cost of the ride is $50 for a 1.5 hour ride if only a single person is riding, or $40 per person if 2 - 4 people are riding. The ride is indeed private, with no other strangers riding with you. It is worth every penny and I can't wait to go back to Georgia and ride with them again soon!

While it was under different management at the time, which was still great, my mare Vada instantly calmed and settled. This says a great deal as she is a severely abused OTTB who came into my care three years ago. I looked at her for the first time and made a seemingly impossible promise that she would never, ever have to feel that way again. When a horse isn't in your direct care you can't guarantee this, right? Well, with excellent trainer Hannah Rickles and amazing owner, Corrie Tabb, you can more than bank on it, you can guarantee it. Vada is not easy to handle and will react out of fear. She quickly gets higher strung the less daily touch and care she has, and it will immediately show in the form of intense anxiety, dangerous behavioral problems, pacing, mild colics, whole nine yards. She was truly happy at Maven because these things rarely happened. She was at her best version of peace. I had many problems over the summer and fall and could barely make it out to the barn. Throughout that time, (then assistant) trainer worked with Vada every day, putting hands on her, even pulling her mane and keeping her completely groomed for me. She held her for the farrier as Vada tried to put more than one farrier's assistant through the wall. Not easy tasks. No questions asked. In December, Hannah took over as trainer/manager full time for Maven. I could have moved like half of the barn did to follow the previous trainer, but I chose to stay on because Hannah had proven to me that she cared with a fierce heart for the equines in her program, including my little poor confirmation and slightly insane OTTB amongst a sea of gorgeous (and not crazy) warmbloods. She was no less important than any other Grand Prix horse in that barn. I had then acquired a second horse, Logan and was living the life. Then, the government shut down and as a contracted defense contract writer, it ruined me financially. Corrie not only worked with me but showed compassion and cared through the months-long ordeal of me scraping together the board money. Most barn owners would put a lien on your horses and make a bad situation worse. Never did that occur, and never did my horses care decline because I wasn't able to pay. Bottom line is if you are a helicopter horse mom or dad, or if you are an owner that can't make it out very often, or have changing life circumstances and need a safe spot you can trust, THIS IS THE BARN FOR YOU. We all know how crazy the people of the horse world are, you have to be I guess, right? Well, being at a barn with zero drama and nothing but kind and compassionate people who are simply there to be with the animals that make our lives go round is a breath of fresh air. Did I mention Hannah is a kick-ass trainer and incredibly knowledgeable horse person? So, yeah, if you don't have a 7-year-old high stress and formerly abused chestnut OTTB mare, you may even enjoy her training! If you've been on the fence about going to see Maven, go. I urge you. And be sure to say "Hi" to Vada. Please bring butterscotches for her full attention.
