Went back today to try it differently. There's no line, and I was greeted by everyone (I kinda felt a little awkward, lol) I ordered the combo again, but I requested for the sauce on the side so I can taste the meats better unlike the last time when the sauce were all over my meats. I also ordered the beef gyro sandwiches, with the white and hot sauces on them. The meat are tasty! Yes, I ate them without the sauce first because I wanted to give them a more fair review. They were a little bit on the dry side and the amount of meat on the platter is still not much, but that don't change the fact that they're good, the staffs are friendly and the place is clean . The amount of meat on the gyro sandwich, for me, looked more than what's on the platter. But I like them anyways. I prefer the beef than the chicken. And our teen daughter said she liked the gyro better too than the platter combo. And my family liked the gyro sandwiches too, so do I. It would be nice if the meat would be more moist so I wouldn't have to slather it with the sauce, although, like I said before, the white sauce and hot sauce really matches well with it, so the moist part's not that big of a deal to me, I just have to mention it for those who might want to know. If you prefer rice, then you can try the platter: chicken or beef or combo. But if you want the semi-wrap style, no rice, is the sandwich. The chicken was drier than the beef in comparison. But both meat tasted good! They're worth coming back for. read more

Amazing food and the customer service was great. Definitely would recommend the combo bowl and a cookie. The cookie was outstanding and the bowl was perfect. The two guys we met gave us some extra sauce and were very nice. Definitely would recommend read more

First time here in Atlanta and the place is rocking just like New York, if your in the city check this place out! Will be back

We ventured allll the way outside of the perimeter it had better been good and it was! It lived up to all the hype. I can't believe the lack luster reviews I am seeing. Service and food were both 100. I did the combo bowl and that was definitely the wight choice. Bot the chicken and gyro are tender and flavorful. Now to the sauce...get allllll the white sauce. I could put this s*&!t on everythang! The hot sauce is very hot, I literally put like 5 drops on my whole bowl and that was plenty. Their hummus was also on point; perfect consistency and flavor. We sat on the patio and one of the staff came around periodically to check if anyone needed more sauce. That's a win in my book. Special shot out to the manager, he was super nice and attentive. I WILL BE BACK. read more

The Halal Guys - Combo plates - Halal Near Me - Chamblee, Georgia

There is a lot of hype surrounding Halal Guys, so I approached it with skepticism. Could it really be that good? We went on a Sunday night and the line was not super long, but it still took us about 20 minutes to get through. I ordered a small combo platter with gyro and chicken, rice, salad and pita. BE WARNED: The hot sauce is EXTREMELY HOT. They luckily let me try a little bit before I put it all over my food, which is good, because my mouth would have never recovered. The food is quite tasty. I really enjoyed the flavor of the meat and the white sauce was some of the best Mediterranean white sauce I've had around here. It is more mayo based than yogurt based, but I didn't mind. It was a tad more greasy that some other gyro meat I've had around here, but to me it wasn't a huge detriment. It's good, it's not amazing. That's why I took two stars off. We liked it enough to go back, but wouldn't put it at the top of our list. read more

I was excited to try this place and I heard of the ridiculously long lines so i waited n waited and gave it time to simmer....so finally after patiently waited, me and my wife went and tried it.....and then the excitement started to slowly disappear. There was no where to sit , not a lot of tables, dirty and then the food. 1st. Red sauce is sooooo freaking hot its not enjoyable and i put siracha/Tabasco on everything and was STILL too hot, and the food itself was just ok. It was not a pleasant experience for me so im not sure if i want to go back to that location. Maybe i have tp try the one in NYC. Well i hope u guys find it to your liking just not for me. read more

I came here and had a combo platter one late afternoon when this place was actually pretty dead. The dish was decent with better than expected seasoning of the rice, but vapid vegetable element. This stuff is okay as a late night munchies option but no way will I ever wait in line to get it. read more

I came to know through a friend of mine that Halal guys have opened a restaurant on Buford highway. Last week my wife was craving for some Mediterranean style chicken and salad, so we decided to give this place a try. We went there around 9, the place was pretty packed. We ordered falafel platter and chicken platter. Food was an utter disappointment. Chicken lacked flavor, no seasoning at all. Tasted like grilled chicken without any seasoning. Even they did not chop up the chicken properly. Some pieces were huge. Very sloppy. Falafel was nothing out of ordinary. The rice looked very good visually but lacked flavor. Also the side salad had nothing Mediterranean about it, just some random chopped vegetables. We have so many great local Mediterranean restaurants in and around Atlanta, I do not know why would people come to this place. read more

I don't get the hype on this place. I ordered the gyro platter and a side of hummus. I found the meat to be dry. No wonder people douse it with sauce. The hummus was good but you really can't mess that up. There are much better places around to get good gyro. read more

This place is PURE HYPE! $18+ dollars for two platters with some dry chicken and the driest cardboard tasting rice is a joke! I live around the corner from here and felt I should give it a try but really don't think I will be going back. Oh, and the girls at the counter had terrible attitudes... God forbid you ask for some extra sauce! Save your money and try Mediterranean Grill by Emory and you will not be disappointed. Their tzatziki and red hot sauce is to die for! read more

The Halal Guys - Yeah!, Chicken with the White Sauce! - Halal Near Me - Chamblee, Georgia

Yes, they may be the same as the NYC version but here they are definitely not the same. Maybe it just tastes bette Ron the street being sold by vendor singing food at crazy rate to a line full of crazy loud New Yorkers. The rice I had on the dish was soooo dry and the falafel ok. Service was fast hit not enough to make up for the price of the food and the end product. There is way better food on I Buford hwy, leave halal guys for when you visit the Big Apple. read more

What can I say... nothing comes close to the original 53rd n 6th street cart in NYC. This location is very similar to the Halal Guys brick and mortar in NY, and neither are as good as the original 53rd and 6th vendor cart. The flavor is similar but there is a lack of freshness. I had the small beef platter and 2 falafels, totaling about $10. The plate was super light, falafels were ok. Do yourself a favor, go to NY ... have yourself amazing night on the town and then stand on the line at 2am on 53rd n 6th. No matter the wait I promise a hot plate of magical goodness. Add some white sauce and a lil of the hot sauce and you're in business. One thing that did not change at this location is the hot sauce which packs some heat. Use with caution. read more

Yum! A good, good friend brought this to us for dinner the other evening. We had the combo platter and falafel platter, and a side of hummus. Unfortunately, it was a couple of hours before we were able to get to it, so it was lukewarm when we ate it. However, the meats were very flavorful, well seasoned. I didn't care for the falafel so much, which may have been because they were cold. Anything fried, other than fried chicken, is not so great cold. The kids were eating up the meat, pita, and hummus, which is a sure sign of decent food. We will definitely try halal guys again, which I expect will be even better fresh and hot. read more

Great food and always clean! Everyone is friendly and the service is super quick. They checked in halfway through our mail to make sure the red sauce did not burn us alive. Good times! read more

The food is great and the workers did a great job working with a crazy customer. Defused the situation. I was impressed.

VEGAN-FRIENDLY AND AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE. The food is also delicious and they stay true to their reputation in New York. Employees will walk around asking if you want extra sauce which is so great. read more

Honestly, I didn't have high expectations walking in, but these guys are legit. When you're looking for good food, quick, a little different than the normal routine, this is your place. It's fast food. My five star rating shouldn't be taken as if it's the same experience as Marcel or Chama Gaucha, but for what it is, this was a great experience. read more

Didn't really have much expectations of this place considering other reviews But the ambience of it is lost from New York carts When you get in it's a normal mcd vibe (which is better). It's more Americanized - not authentic The sizes are tooooo small for higher price The food taste stale rice and falafel is so burnt and hard on the outer edge - The white sauce was so much mayo flavor - was not the same - the service is bad needed more sauce had to take my half eaten food over to food prep n they added more sauce. Would never come back - Would rather wait for a trip to NYC and eat at the cart. read more

I've heard many things about this place from my friends (who constantly obsess over the food.) Having recently gone to NYC and tasted the original halal guys stand, I have to say: ... this was a pretty faithful rendition! I've tried the chicken, combo, and falafel platters and I personally think the combo is the best value. You pretty much get more variety for your meal. It might get a little bland eating so much chicken in the chicken platter; as for the falafel, the filling can get a little dry and flaky. However, the pita and sides stay true to the original recipe--fresh and crisp. The white and hot sauce are both flavorful additions to the meal as well, however, the hot sauce is not for the faint of heart. PROTIP: Make sure to ask for hot sauce on the side! Overall, the service and ambiance is rushed and speedy. I usually do take out but either way, it takes a short time to get your food. BUT, if you do order extra falafel or French fries, they'll make it fresh so expect a 10+ min. wait. Better to do it fresh than stale, I guess.... read more

Took about 30minutes in and out. There was a line out the door when i got there around 1230. I came to the area to eat at The Bayou Boil and remembered seeing alot of yelp chatter about this place. My husband loves gyros so after i finished, i stopped by here. Shame they dint have lamb. I got two beef gyros. It has lettuce tomato and beef wrapped in a pita. The service was quick for the amount of ppl there but the food was lacking. The meat wasn't very flavorful and the white sauce didn't help it much. I expected more for a place that boasts about being (world famous). I'd like to come back and try the beef platter. I think this place is deserving of a second try. The price of 6.79per gyro is reasonable. read more

The Halal Guys - Beef gyro with extra white sauce - Halal Near Me - Chamblee, Georgia

What makes the original cart in NY so magical and delicious? Is it the mixture of alcohol in the system? The long line at 1 in the morning? The smell of the former lamb now beef wafting through the air? The hot sauce combating the effects of too much partying? Whatever it is, this place ain't got it. The first time I went they ran out of beef so I just left. When I went back recently, the beef was okay, nothing special. The flavor lacked depth. Just tasted like a little salt was added. The rice was a little dry and undercooked. Also underwhelming. The hot sauce was still pretty good and you get one pack for takeout. The rest of the platter was average. The people there were really nice and the food is pretty cheap. So, if that's what you're looking for, go for it. I would say the food quality is probably on par with the cost but all of that still makes it 3 stars. read more

I stopped by The Halal Guys after getting a 30-minute head, neck and back massage from the Natural Spa next door. The Halal Guys had been on my list of restaurants I wanted to try, and I'm so glad I did! The young lady helping me provided me lots of samples and advice since it was my first time. I had a gyro with both falafel and gyro meat, topped with tabouli (a little extra cost, but so good). I tried their hot sauce, and if you LOVE hot sauce, this is alone worth the visit. Wowza. So hot but so flavorful. The falafel was delicious, and their pita is so soft. I loved the hummus that she let me try. GREAT flavor. They have a rewards program that both she and a manager/owner told me about since I know this will not be my last time there! The manager/owner came by to make sure that I had everything that I needed, and a young man picked up my tray for me. Great service and even better food! read more

Yuck. I wasted $9.12 . I told the young lady I don't want tomatoes and she still put them. She didn't ask if I wanted the pita bread she just put it automatically. It wasn't busy in the restaurant. It was clean . Service was just bad. No greeting and just doing what they think you want and not listening. The food has no taste. The rice and chicken was very bland and not hot. If you putting a cold sauce on the food at least make sure it's hot. I won't return nothing New York street food style just not it read more

I've had Halal guys in New York and always liked it so when I saw it open in Atlanta I made sure to stop by. The place was new and very clean and staff was exceptionally friendly. I ordered the combo plate with extra white sauce and hot sauce just like I ordered the previous times in New York. After the first bite I was unpleasantly surprised. This hot sauce was so hot! It was so uncomfortably hot to the point where it ruined my meal and I couldn't even enjoy myself. I had to pour even more white sauce on it to try to get through the rest of my plate while pounding water after every bite. Now I can handle my share of hot stuff but this was ridiculous! They need to either tone it down or have some sort of disclaimer so people know what they're getting in to! I would probably visit again for a quick bite and maybr even try a wrap next time but definitely no hot sauce. read more

Waiting until Wednesday to go here because everyone was spending 2ish hours standing in the cold to get some! The service is quick, the staff is friendly. Its a little expensive for what you get, 21 bucks for two platters and some fries. The food wasn't amazing. There are definitely better and cheaper falafels in Atlanta. I did enjoy their sauces, saved a packet to add to my salad today! I also have to admit if I was hungry at 12am, it would be considered. So definitely avoid it during the weekend rush until the craze dies down. read more

I was able to come here during their soft opening with friends & try it out before the crazy lines began. I have had it at the NYC cart in September 2016 & did not enjoy it at all. I'm not sure if the quality had gone down or what but the rice was hard, meat tasted like seasoned ground beef & was very oily. With that being said, I did not have very high expectations BUT I was pleasantly surprised! I really enjoyed it here! Maybe it was the calmer nature of sitting in the restaurant with staff that had been training to make it right. The gyro meat was flavorful, rice was cooked well & the sauces were great. The spicy sauce is literally fire & I loved it. I would definitely come back but I would honestly wait for the crazy lines & crowds to die down a bit first. Overall, happy to have a Halal Guys in Atlanta! read more

Finally got my NYC fix for halal guys. I just moved from New York and been to Halal Guy's there a bunch of times. The servers here are new so it's a lil slow, but should get better with time. Food is decent. Not as good as NY but let's be real, that's the gold standard. Even in NY the actual Halal Guy's store isn't great. Their street cart is where all the magic is. Portions are always large. They have reward card here if you're frequent comer, never saw that in NY. read more

I wanted to come here and see what the hype was all about. First thing that came to my mind was how small this place was. The line where you get in to place your order was a little hectic and kind of confusing. I got the combo regular platter and it came with beef, chicken, tomatoes, greens, pita bread and their specialty white sauce. All in all the ingredient came together well, I just felt like the chicken had a burnt taste to it. For $8.79 plus $1.99 for a soda I feel like it wasn't worth the wait or the value. read more

Whenever I go to New York, The Halal Guys is a must for me. Now that there is one closer, I am extremely ecstatic. I came on the grand opening day and waited 2 hours for the food. It was good but did not give the same feeling as I had eating it in the cold NYC streets. The food is good, but it seems the portion is a little smaller; however the white sauce is just as addictive as I remembered. I have been back a few times, and each time there is still a line. As a added bonus, for all the Halal Guys fans, there is now a rewards card you can use to earn points to get free food in the future. Overall, still good food..I'm just glad I can get it on the regular now. read more

The Halal Guys - Grand opening - Halal Near Me - Chamblee, Georgia

Went for lunch this past week and the lines were still long. Like others, I had the original in NYC. It's been awhile since I've been so maybe I've hyped up my experience from NY in my mind, but the food at Buford was just not the same. Everything was just okay, but not amazing. I had the combo platter which includes chicken, gyro beef, rice, lettuce and tomatoes. The white sauce is great. So is the hot sauce, but warning... it's SPICY. The meat was again good, but not great. Maybe it's because they just opened? I'll probably be back to check it out again once the lines are more manageable! read more

I had the chicken and gyro combo platter. Overall tasted good. I could do without the chicken though. It was a bit dry. It's funny that the servers walked around offering the white sauce every 5 minutes. The white sauce is good though. It's also funny that there were so many staffers there when we went. Not sure if they were all needed? If I return, I would only get the gyro platter. Don't get chicken. read more

The Halal Guys - Halal Near Me - Chamblee, Georgia

Portion sizes are getting smaller every time I visit. The portions are so small now, an entire platter is no longer filling. Staff has become extremely stingy with portions due to pressure from management. Look at the latest reviews - everyone is making the SAME complaint about portions. Do you think it's a coincidence? You will obviously lose customers. Also, the GM here should NOT be a manager of anything. Very rude with poor customer service skills. read more

The food quality is suffering because they are too busy. The pre-cooked chicken is really dry. The gyro meat is not getting a chance to get any brownness from the roto-grill. Everything is rushed. Even the pita bread is refrigerator hard and not very palatable. The line moves at a snail's pace. It seems a new order system is needed. They need way more training and experience here to meet the demands of the hype. read more

Been eating Halal Guys in NY for 6 years and let me tell you how it's completely garbage now. Previously it was small batch cooked but now it's all frozen crap reheated and served for 1.5x the price. You can buy all the same frozen crap from Restaurant Depot and make it at home. read more

My friends and I love coming to Halal Guys! We've been supporters of this location ever since their grand opening when we were first in line in high anticipation for a location more convenient for us to get to. The service is always great here but the main highlight is the food. The quality, portion sizing, and flavors all come together to make this spot a great place to go for a quick and reasonably priced meal. I've tried all of the protein options and must say that the gyro and falafel are my favorite! The chicken is good as well but I prefer the other two. My friends and I are all white sauce fans because it's the perfect compliment to the food, tying all the flavors together! We've tried the red sauce before but it's too spicy for most of us to have a whole line of. Everything here is fresh as well and if you don't mind an extra charge, I'd recommend adding hummus or Baba ghanoush to your plate! Both are absolutely delicious and a worth-it addition. read more
