Special - Banana Texas French Toast with side of bacon and scrambled eggs
Troy H.

We tried The Griddle for the first time as our go-to location across the street had a 45+ minute wait. Wait here on a Saturday at 9:30 was 15 minutes. I'm not really in favor of having to give your cell phone number to feed into their app so you know when your table is ready, but there you have it. The inside is pretty cool if you are into that "converted warehouse" feel of exposed beam crossed with a country kitchen feel. Tables aren't crammed together, definitely a sense of space. There are booth options as well. And as I prefer, no TVs. There were 2 groups of 14 that were served during our visit, so they can definitely accommodate larger parties. Our server rarely checked in, took 10 minutes to refill coffee after we requested a top off (she forgot), and never ended up refilling out water. The coffee we did get was good though. As always, I'm a hollandaise connoisseur as the foundation for perfect Benedict - my go to breakfast item. So I asked for a sample before I ordered, and I'm glad I did. The Griddle's hollandaise was curious. It was clearly about 25-50% powdered mix (which tastes like nasty beef gravy) with the balance being added clarified butter and a very strong dose of lemon. It was marginal, but good enough. So, I went with the crab cake Benedict. The crab cakes were a bit "fishy," so the strong lemon flavor was a plus. After flagging down our server, I requested a new poached egg as one of them arrived hard boiled. (I want runny yolks as hard boiled are too chalky for my taste.) The replacement egg was delivered very quickly. My guest had the banana Texas french toast special with added bacon and scrambled eggs. Bacon was nice and thick, nicely cooked. Scrambled eggs are pretty much just that. The french toast did have great body to it, but I'm not a huge banana fan. Still enjoyed it though. I would consider this an option for a revisit.

Serves moldy fruit and I got mold poisoning! I got a fruit cup and the grapes were moldy, I spit it out to go t a ft er I realized it but ingested the mold already. Few hours later I am seeing bright lights in my eyes, my left hand is getting numb and I have a huge headache! Symptoms of mold poisoning! Took antihistamine and googled what to do after ingesting mold and it's all symptoms of being exposed to mold and symptoms of poisoning. Still struggling and trying to get over it and not having to go to the emergency! Absolutely awful to serve people mold! Besides the food wasn't great and the French fries were greasy. My son spit them right out. First and last time here!

So I was in Boise visiting family and the discussion of where we should eat always comes up. I was looking for a good breakfast restaurant and my brother took no time at all recommending this location. What a great choice. First off, our waiter Tyler was amazing. She was very friendly and patient. It took us awhile to figure out what we wanted, and she never rushed us. It is hard to decide what to order. I had the Wild West Scramble, which was excellent. My brother had a french toast order, I stole a few bites, wow. It is a very fun and casual place to eat. Will definitely be back.

I'm just going to say it, this place was an absolute treat to dine in at! I personally got the French toast with bacon and a cinnamon roll and they were both delicious! Not to mention the portions were great for the price and the environment of the place was cozy and nostalgic. Absolutely amazing, would recommend!

had the gravy train potatoes and it was really good! The hashbrowns were still decently crispy under the sausage gravy and the gravy itself had great flavor Their housemade jam went perfectly with the sourdough toast i got. Jam was also a great pairing with the almond french toast which is one of our favorite dishes from here service was quick and attentive! make sure to check in at the front podium, they have a text system so they'll text you when your table is ready

Oops, I couldn't help it! What is left of an American, Jack , cheddar and bacon omelette with rye toast and fresh strawberry jam

(I mean, some of it is greasy and the syrup is gloopy and a bit nasty-- it's better if it's warm-- but overall the food is good). So before I tell you the BIG issue at Joe Momma's, let me first set the scene. JM's looks like a misty mountain cabin come to life. River rock and pinecone and foliage lanterns greet you as you walk up ... log walls and a massive stone fireplace whisper of times gone by as you enter, and hens adorn the dark wood walls. You could easily picture the Fellowship of the Ring sitting in a booth across from you. It's truly charming. So what's the problem with Joe Momma's? The music! It's AWFUL and completely bizarre given the atmosphere of the restaurant. But hey, if blasted mid-2000's Rihanna and Katy Perry songs on a loop (we counted more than 4) is your idea of a good time at 8:30am on a Saturday morning in a log cabin, then you'll love it. I have a feeling Samwise and Frodo would not though and neither did we. The music is loud, very loud. And sounds more like an LA radio station playing Pop's Top Hits from 19 years ago. Which would be okay, I guess, if the energy of the restaurant matched it-- you know, modern architecture, crisp lines, sleek furniture and color design-- think Snooze in Scottsdale, Az which is basically a breakfast night club. But alas, Joe Momma's is beloved because of the misty mountain feel. The upscale Cracker Barrel vibe. The charming, rustic beauty. And the abrasive, bad pop music ruins the whole thing. It's is truly so freaking weird! Maybe they could keep the Pop for the lunch rush, but PLEASE Joe Momma's, for the love of Frodo, leave breakfast alone and come up with a playlist that matches your beloved establishment!!

It's been a few years since I have been to Le Peep. My family wanted to have brunch here so we all…read moreheaded in. My daughter and nephew arrived first and got us a cozy booth. They got lemonade and orange juice while waiting for my husband and I to arrive. After we got settled in, an apple juice and cold brew was ordered. My husband's juice got dropped off first. It did take a minute for my cold brew to arrive. I got a sugar free vanilla cold brew with some half and half on the side. I don't know who is in charge of making their cold brew but what I got was not cold brew. The coloring had no depth or richness to it. It looked like a very watered down americano. Cold brew is rich in color and bold in flavor. Colorful and bold was not this drink. I usually add a few portions of half and half to cut the bitterness of the coffee but I needed only 2 for my watered down mess. So, for 4 bucks or so, it was not worth it thier version of a cold brew For brunch I got the Omni omelet with peasant potatoes. My husband got a cinnamon roll to start and pancake sammy. The kids also got the country fried steak and the lobster Benny. For my daughter and I, we both got a side of country gravy for our potatoes. My husband and I started off with the cinnamon roll. It was heavily topped with frosting which was great! The cinnamon roll was good but you can tell it was not fresh. After being spoiled by local bakeries in town that sell fresh cinny rolls, you know when they aren't fresh. And that's the situation in this case. The texture of the cinny roll was not fluffy and airy. My omelet was good. It was loaded with all the goodies inside. The potatoes were lacking color to them. It looked like a pile of semi seasoned steamed potatoes. I got a little ramekin of gravy. Probably the smallest portion of country gravy I have ever been given. These ramekins are used for ketchup or pancake syrup so to have my side of gravy be served in this was humorous. My husband's pancake sandwich was not a sandwich. It was two huge plate size pancakes with bacon and eggs on top. I guess when you have a description of pancake sandwich that doesn't look like a sandwich, it will throw your customers off. We received our bill and as usual, I looked over the check. I know there's a charge for country gravy, it's like paying for any other extra. Please tell me why a small portion of country gravy at this joint is 2.50?!? The ramekins used are 2 Oz. It holds that much pancake syrup. Mind you, with a denser fluid like country gravy, it's more like 1.7ish oz of gravy. Like what!?! So, 5 bucks for less than 4 oz of gravy is what y'all charge for gravy. I asked the hostess about the charge and of course she directed me to a manager, as she should. The manager needed a hug and a smile. Before even having any type of interaction with her, she looked miserable walking through out the dining area. So you can only imagine how happy she looked when she approached our table to talk to me. She told us the following. "You are charged for the first portion of gravy. But if you want a second portion, it's complimentary." Well, why not give the customer the full amount of what they are paying for? So I'm paying for half of what I'm getting? Why was I not informed about this so called complimentary portion? Our server did not tell us nothing about this complimentary side. So basically, you're ripping customers off with these small side charges. Not letting your guests know about this invisible complimentary secondary portion. Mind you, you were going to make 5 bucks off of less than 4 oz of gravy. That 5 bucks increases the percentage of the servers tip and you're profiting off of gravy which is pennies to make. You add that to as many tables through the day, week, month and year.... I can only imagine how much extra your business is gaining. After the manager was so kind of admit that she was wrong about having two portions of gravy being charged, I would advise her to get her info correct before coming at a guest. I have been in the food industry way too long to have any kind of bs thrown my way. Our server never filled up my nephew's lemonade. Was gone for long periods of time. Honestly, it was busy but it's never that busy to check up on your guests, to make sure their drinks are filled and that they are OK. So, for almost 90 dollars, I believe it was not worth having brunch here today.

The lettuce and veggies in the salad were incredibly fresh and crisp, and it was tossed in a delicious, Greek-style dressing that complimented the dish perfectly. My husbands burger was topped with a cheesy fried tatertot and his onion rings were perfectly finished; the batter didnt slip off when taking a bite.
