Had lunch here with a friend on a Tuesday right in the middle of the lunch rush. We ordered and got our fresh hot food in under 10 minutes! Perfect for an hour lunch break. I got the Salmon plate and it was so much food for the price. The salmon was perfectly cooked, the rice was authentic and the hummus and pita were delicious. My friend got the gyro mix and had to take half of it home! It was so much food, but absolutely delicious. The restaurant is that of what you would think of a family owned and operated diner. Perfect lunch spot. read more

Greek salad with gyro meat is always my go to. Their house hot sauce is ridiculously delish. Super tasty Periodt.

Stopped here on the way home from LAX... really good food and fast service. Had the vegetarian plate which was a decent size serving and delicious!!!!! read more

Food is great! Incredibly great quality food and and customer service! I'm talking about the food truck that goes to CSUDH. Not sure if this business and food truck are affiliated. The only thing though, I always ask for no rice and sub with salad. They say sure, but never give me the sub salad instead of rice! Every time! I always forget to check once I'm too far and already in class. But other than that, really good food read more

Great food, freshly made, well seasoned, well cooked and definitely a feel going meal. Their sauces were bomb too!

This is my favorite middle eastern place !!! They have this cilantro sauce that's amazing ! I always order their combo plate and never disappointed. Everyone that works there is so nice and they deliver! read more

The Green Olive Restaurant - Heaven just got delivered to me at work!! Sooooo good! - Mediterranean Near Me - Compton, California

I love this place! I go here for lunch about twice a week and the food never fails. I usually get the chicken kabob plate. They marinate the meats very well and the rice is amazing too. Very friendly staff. There is a hookah lounge there too that looks awesome, but I've never been. The restaurant is fairly new and a little bit hidden but I hope they continue to get lots of business because I love this place. read more

Been here a couple of times and the food is AMAZING. I like trying different types of food, especially Mediterranean restaurants and this was a great find. It's in a business district in Compton/Rancho Dominguez/Carson. I've tried the falafel platter and the gyro meat platter. Both were DELICIOUS! My only gripe is that the hummus isn't really that fantastic, but I usually just add their green sauce to give it that extra kick it needs. I still have to try their pita wraps and salads. All in all, if you like great tasting food at an affordable price, this is the place to go. read more

This food will freakin' knock your socks off! I recently changed jobs after working in West Los Angeles for over 10 years and was hard pressed to find a lunch spot close to my new gig that was worthy of my palate. Let me tell ya, The Green Olive has saved me on many a days. I also ordered this food for one of my business meetings and everyone raved about the food. Delivery was only $7!! Also, they have a beautifully decorated room in the rear of the building where parties can be held with hookah and belly dancers! SOLD!!! read more

My husband and I love trying foods from around the world. The Green Olive is our favorite Mediterranean restaurant in the area. Although they could improve the esthetics of the front portion of the restaurant, the food is perfect for takeout. Their special house green sauce is the best! read more

Whenever I'm in Rancho Dominguez i make it a point to eat here.. Its not often you get the chance to eat something that causes you to savor every bite.. The Green olive does that to me.. Great service, clean atmosphere. My favorite is the Gyro Wrap with spicy potatoes and a Tabouli salad to finish..Trust me when i say you'll love it here too.. Placed an order here for friday family dinner here yesterday and could not ask for a better experience. From the woman assisting me with my order, to the flavor, presentation, & portion size of the food, 10's across the board!!! Ordered the chicken, gyro meat, & salmon, with a mix of rice and potato. Everything was wonderful & everyone was happy. Will absolutely be back. Thank you!!! read more

Ordered lunch today. I got the vegetarian platter. The falafel was really good, some pleasant spice. The hummus and pita bread were fantastic. I did not make the pickup so I am unable to comment on the location itself, but the food was really good. If I am in the area again I will definitely go back for the food! read more

This place was bomb. However kind of seedy, they have like a back door leading somewhere with people coming in and out. What is back there? I asked the entire time I was eating. Strange hip hop blaring through the mysterious side door. The food was good I had a vegetarian plate, portions good as well as the flavor. read more

Okay... so I was hesitant to like this place. I just want feeling the vibe but it's really close and I love Mediterranean food. So I gave it a shot. Food was really good. However I really wanted to try the falafel but they wouldn't offer a sample. I have been to a few other places where it wasn't good and I didn't want to spoil my experience by getting it and it being bad so I passed. I think just giving me a sample would of been a good business move. I would have probably bought a bunch. Also since it is close I would have been in often had it been good. But, over all the food was good. I would visit again. Note to staff and business let people taste stuff. It's better to let them taste it and not like it right there than to purchase it and hate it and be upset. read more

The Green Olive Restaurant - Trio plate - Mediterranean Near Me - Compton, California

The hummus and pita is so flavorless that I might as well be eating a tortilla with plain, unsweetened yogurt. Get it together, girls.

I was excited to try this place. I used Uber eats to order my food. The food was delivered in a timely manner. I ordered the salmon kabob and I was so disappointed. It was THE WORST salmon I had ever tasted. The rice and hummus was extremely bland. The salad was even bad. The pita bread was hard n stale. What a waste of my money. I really wanted to like this place. Will not be going back. read more

Such a great store the food is amazing the customer service is on point. This is my new favorite place to eat. Loveeeee

I came here for lunch and it is in a busy center and hard to find parking but once you make it pass that it is worth the wait. I got the chicken kaboob and salad, both were great. The meat was flavorful and perfectly cooked and the salad had the right amount of dressing. Service was fast as well as the food was cooked quickly, so its great for a lunch spot. I will be back to try the other combos. read more

If I could rate no stars I sure would. I'm very DISAPPOINTED that I paid for a trio combo that had BUGS in it. Some type of small insect was found in my food and I wasn't even 5 mins into my fuckin food. Waste of my money. read more

Yum! I've only had the Gyro Meat Wrap so far, but man is it good. They're very generous with the meat portion, the pita is delicious, the green cucumber sauce it comes with is great, and I highly recommend paying the extra 50 cents for the tabouleh instead of a regular salad. I order ahead for lunchtime and they always have it ready by the time I come in. read more

It was my first time trying meditarían food & I'll be definitely coming soon again. I tried the gyro mix & the spicy potatoes. I must say the taste is amazing it is guaranteed to satisfy your cravings. read more

This is my second time visiting since the Covid-19. The first time, while waiting in line I saw a guy that came to the kitchen from the back office with some papers in his hands. Saw some pitas on the grill and started flipping them, without washing his hands nor putting gloves on. Today was my second visit and while in line again I see a server preparing cups for drinks, she placed the lids inside the cups with her bare hands, no gloves, no disinfecting her hands. Then she picked up the cups 2 at the time from the top putting her fingers inside the cups and put them away. And every time she picked up more cups her fingers were right inside the cups. At this point the cashier moved over to the food being packed, she was just handling money and did not sanitize her hands. And the lady who was doing the cups came over to take my payment. Again no washing hands and no gloves. I am very disgusted at the lack of hygiene. Hygiene should not only followed in times like this, but it should be all the time. It is a shame because I really enjoy their food, but while I was eating it I kept thinking what else did they touch and I did not see.. read more

Excellent service, clean environment very reasonable prices and the chicken kabobs are great. Oh did I say healthy. Grade A!

Excellent falafels and garlic potatoes. Don't forget to stop by if you're in the area!

Very delicious . Excellent service and very fast. I had there filet mignon wrap and wow so good

I love this place the food tastes great, lots of flavor they always deliver. Foods cooked all the way at this green olive. And the meat is halal/kosher yumm my go to read more

Food was ok but delivery SUCKED. They forgot my order and it took 2 hours to get. AHHHHH I was hungry.

I had lunch here today and I ordered the #3 on the menu which came with: 2 chicken skewers, humus, a salad, one pita bread, and rice. The total cost for this meal was 11 dollars and change. Personally I felt that the food was too expensive beacue of two reasons. One of those reasons being the size of the salad; the portion size was too small. When dining at other Mediterranean establishments the salad has always been suffice, that was not the case at The Green Olive. And the second reason being that there was nothing extraordinary about the food. It was good, but not delicious. One place where change can be made Is in the chicken. The chicken was a little dry and lacked flavor. Get on it Green Olive! You're better than dry under-seasoned chicken. Overall, a 3 star experience. read more

The Green Olive Restaurant - #3 - Mediterranean Near Me - Compton, California

I'm a huge fan of middle eastern food and honestly I really like this place. Very local to me and convenient.

I love their chicken kabob plate, the rice, the hummus, the marinade for the chicken. It is so bomb! And not at all expensive

Just tried the Green Olive and will definitely be going back. I tried the mixed grill combo plate and my boyfriend tried the shrimp kabob plate, I wanted to try the falafels so we ordered a couple falafels and some baklava and all were delicious. read more

O-M-GEEE!! This place is so bomb !!! I will drive from anywhere when I'm craving gyro or anything on this delicious menu. I ordered the #6 Gryo & Falafel plate. I have nothing but great things to say. Every single bite was delicious. No kidding, hands down the BEST gyro plate I've had. I'm part Greek so that's quite a compliment. It has a Latin flair in my opinion which compliments the food very well. The dolmades had a spice which can be chili or paprika powder that gave it good flavor, the rice was more Spanish style as well but complimented the dishes perfectly. My friend had the #10 mix and he said the kabobs were the juiciest he's ever had - especially the chicken which he was adamant about. Definitely recommend and will return, the service and cleanliness of the place was also amazing. Thank you for helping find this gem! read more

This is one of my favorite Mediterranean restaurants. The kebabs-chicken, beef, and shrimp-are cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The salads are bright, fresh and delicious. The falafel is yummy. The hummus and babaganouz are fresh and smooth. The sauces are homemade, the green sauce with a little heat is my favorite. The portions are generous and the prices good. I go to The Green Olive as often as I can for healthy, delicious meals. read more

The place has a weird smell. The rice was yellow instant rice you can buy at the grocery store. Salad dressing was gross. The soda machine didn't have enough carbonation in any of the drinks. The pita bread was mediocre. Although the price isn't too bad, it's too high for the food quality. I love Mediterranean food, but this wasn't authentic enough for me. Won't eat here again. read more

I visited here last week. I was happy to find a Green Olive closer to home since I love the one by work in Downey. I asked when I walked in if it was the same owners thay said no, but decided to give it a try anyways. My daughter ordered the shrimp skewers with rice and salad on the side, I ordered the chicken and beef mixed plate also included rice and salad. My daughter loved her shrimp the rice she left most of it. Thats odd she never leaves the rice. My chicken was good my beef a little bland. Overall my experience was just ok... I think I will stick to the other location. The guys working were very nice but the cook and cashier were very nice. read more

My go-to place for Lunch. Food is bomb !!!!!!! The green sauce is my favorite. You can't go wrong with the #16 Combo Trio plate. Customer service is great. Definitely would recommend. read more

Food was good, not amazing, but not bad. However there was a strange strong odor coming from the restaurant that you can smell before you go inside and then when you're inside it's stronger. Smelled like sewage/rotting eggs... it's not as strong when you're closer to the cashier register and strong closer to the back and restroom. read more
