This place was bomb. However kind of seedy, they have like a back door leading somewhere with people coming in and out. What is back there? I asked the entire time I was eating. Okay... so I was hesitant to like this place. I just want feeling the vibe but it's really close and I love Mediterranean food. So I gave it a shot. Food was really good. However I really wanted to try the falafel but they wouldn't offer a sample. I have been to a few other places where it wasn't good and I didn't want to spoil my experience by getting it and it being bad so I passed. I think just giving me a sample would of been a good business move. I would have probably bought a bunch. Also since it is close I would have been in often had it been good. But, over all the food was good. I would visit again. Note to staff and business let people taste stuff. I came here for lunch and it is in a busy center and hard to find parking but once you make it pass that it is worth the wait. I got the chicken kaboob and salad, both were great. The meat was flavorful and perfectly cooked and the salad had the right amount of dressing. Service was fast as well as the food was cooked quickly, so its great for a lunch spot. Yum! I've only had the Gyro Meat Wrap so far, but man is it good. They're very generous with the meat portion, the pita is delicious, the green cucumber sauce it comes with is great, and I highly recommend paying the extra 50 cents for the tabouleh instead of a regular salad. I love this place! I go here for lunch about twice a week and the food never fails. I usually get the chicken kabob plate. They marinate the meats very well and the rice is amazing too. Very friendly staff. There is a hookah lounge there too that looks awesome, but I've never been. Been here a couple of times and the food is AMAZING. I like trying different types of food, especially Mediterranean restaurants and this was a great find. It's in a business district in Compton/Rancho Dominguez/Carson. I've tried the falafel platter and the gyro meat platter. Both were DELICIOUS! My only gripe is that the hummus isn't really that fantastic, but I usually just add their green sauce to give it that extra kick it needs. I still have to try their pita wraps and salads. This is my second time visiting since the Covid-19. The first time, while waiting in line I saw a guy that came to the kitchen from the back office with some papers in his hands. Saw some pitas on the grill and started flipping them, without washing his hands nor putting gloves on. Today was my second visit and while in line again I see a server preparing cups for drinks, she placed the lids inside the cups with her bare hands, no gloves, no disinfecting her hands. Then she picked up the cups 2 at the time from the top putting her fingers inside the cups and put them away. And every time she picked up more cups her fingers were right inside the cups. At this point the cashier moved over to the food being packed, she was just handling money and did not sanitize her hands. And the lady who was doing the cups came over to take my payment. Again no washing hands and no gloves. I am very disgusted at the lack of hygiene. Hygiene should not only followed in times like this, but it should be all the time. It is a shame because I really enjoy their food, but while I was eating it I kept thinking what else did they touch and I did not see.. read more

I had lunch here today and I ordered the #3 on the menu which came with: 2 chicken skewers, humus, a salad, one pita bread, and rice. The total cost for this meal was 11 dollars and change. Personally I felt that the food was too expensive beacue of two reasons. One of those reasons being the size of the salad; the portion size was too small. When dining at other Mediterranean establishments the salad has always been suffice, that was not the case at The Green Olive. And the second reason being that there was nothing extraordinary about the food. It was good, but not delicious. One place where change can be made Is in the chicken. The chicken was a little dry and lacked flavor. Get on it Green Olive! You're better than dry under-seasoned chicken. Overall, a 3 star experience. read more

O-M-GEEE!! This place is so bomb !!! I will drive from anywhere when I'm craving gyro or anything on this delicious menu. I ordered the #6 Gryo & Falafel plate. I have nothing but great things to say. Every single bite was delicious. No kidding, hands down the BEST gyro plate I've had. I'm part Greek so that's quite a compliment. It has a Latin flair in my opinion which compliments the food very well. The dolmades had a spice which can be chili or paprika powder that gave it good flavor, the rice was more Spanish style as well but complimented the dishes perfectly. My friend had the #10 mix and he said the kabobs were the juiciest he's ever had - especially the chicken which he was adamant about. This is one of my favorite Mediterranean restaurants. The kebabs-chicken, beef, and shrimp-are cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The salads are bright, fresh and delicious. The falafel is yummy. The hummus and babaganouz are fresh and smooth. The sauces are homemade, the green sauce with a little heat is my favorite. The portions are generous and the prices good. The place has a weird smell. The rice was yellow instant rice you can buy at the grocery store. Salad dressing was gross. The soda machine didn't have enough carbonation in any of the drinks. Amazing service, went today and I have to give them 5 stars for everything. The food is delicious the meat so soft , went there by accident looking for the green chili, but found the green Olive and no regrets. Customer service is excellent they got me a high chair for my baby right away. My son made a mess and I tried cleaning it up but the lady got it for me right away.
